Serving on Corellia for quite sometime now, the serene Zabrak is all too familiar with Corellian humor and quips. Soloiem smiles wide to the younger female knight and places an encouraging palm on her upper arm. "Very well then; if you go, go with intentions of serving the Order and be ever vigilant of the will of the Living Force. Meditate before making any rash decisions." Soloiem removes his hand and gives a small curt bow.

As the Jedi around her slowly dispersed, Kay'li nodded in silent farewell to Terra, then turned and walked slowly from the garden.
Her thoughts drifted back to her own padawan, Theomiir. It was nearly time for their daily meeting to discuss his progress in the Jedi Trials. So far, in Kay'li's estimation, he had passed the Trial of the Spirit, and that Trial had led to a more physical Trial of the Flesh. First, with her guidance, he had looked deep within himself and admitted not only to himself, but to his master, that his troubled past could not be ignored forever. It was the first time he had told anyone at the academy the real reasons why he had run away from home on Garqi, and Kay had been impressed to see the new peace in her student now that he had talked about it. Clearly Theo had expected the opposite. But that admission could not come without action, and mere days later, they had been send at the will of the Force on a medical mercy mission to Garqi, after which they were able to return to Theo's old home village. It had been quite the trip, and the Jedi Knight felt comfortable vouching to the Academy Council that the visit had tried Theo mentally and physically.
That left three more trials to be faced: Skill, Courage, and Insight.

"Always," I say with a nod. "Well, I'll let you get back to your Academy business. Thank you so much for your insight." I take my leave cheerfully and set a leisurely pace back through the garden toward the residential hall. My talk with the Instructor has left me with a welcome sense of clarity of purpose, and I'm ready and eager to pursue this unusual quest wherever it may lead.

*A few weeks after the dinner with Ralph.*
Terra sat beneath a tree, in what had become her preferred place in the gardens to either mediate or read, in this case meditate. Ashla's currents flowed around her and she let them flow through her, helping to wash away the fatigue from the day's training exercises. It was difficult work, but each time she felt a little more confident in her skills and less anxious about her upcoming Trials. She felt the breeze blowing across the gardens, helping to cool her down as she was still a little sweaty from the day's exertions and she sighed contentedly as she slowly came out of her meditation trance.
She stood up and stretched, then adjusted the straps of her tank top a little. She usually wore the tank top and slacks combo for training, preferring the freedom of movement it gave her, as well as not being as hot as her Jedi robes. Smiling a little as she felt the sun's rays on her arms and shoulders, she picked up her boots and started walking, figuring she would get a shower in before dinner.

*Ralph had been looking for Terra for most of the afternoon, knowing she had classes today. He finally strode into the gardens look for her, a smile beaming as wide as his face would allow. He had big news for her. He spotted her and ran over, waving her down.*
Terra! Hey, I have some news for you! *He began to slow down then finally stopped in front of her.* I have been speaking with the masters, and with your trials still approaching, they felt it would be nice for you to take some time off, so they approved a ca,ping trip for us. I was thinking near the beaches a few miles outside of Coronet.

Terra brushed some of her hair aside as she looked on Ralph with wide eyes at the news he had brought her. "R-really? A camping trip? For how long?" A wide smile appeared on her face. In truth, she had overheard some talk about giving her some time to rest and meditate on her lessons before attempting the rest of her Trials, but she hadn't imagined they would have approved something like this. Not that she was opposed to the idea of taking a few days to gather her wits for her Trials, of course. Her training had been rather intense the last few weeks, after all. Also, despite having resided on Corellia for the better part of a year, she hadn't been to the beaches yet. It made her all the more excited to be going.

They said around five days to a week, but I am sure that is up to you. They have a shuttle set aside for us to get there.
*Ralph seemed rather excited himself, but not all for the same reasons. He had been on Corellia for about a month and kept up fantastically with his training. Though he had some difficulty with with minor classes like history, he excelled in others. But all in all, he had not gotten to really get away from the academy with Terra. It was a rare opportunity to do something with the best friend he had on the planet. His smile carried on.*

Terra grinned at him. "That's great! When do we leave?" She would need to start packing right away, unless all they needed was already on the shuttle, but even then, she would still have to pack some spare clothes and maybe bring some datapads to read as well. Although if they were going to the beach, it also occurred to her that she didn't have a swimsuit. "Oh...but...I forgot I don't have a swimsuit...I mean if...we're going to the beach...I might...er...need one..." She found herself blushing a little at the thought of Ralph seeing her in a swimsuit. In the past few weeks, she had become far less shy around him, but still, she couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed at walking around in any kind of swimsuit in front of him.

I'm sure we could stop off in Coronet and but what ever we might need. They told me that we could leave as soon as we are ready. I will just get some things in Coronet since I don't really have much in the way of clothes anyway, but you can go ahead and pack up.
*In his excitement, Ralph had hardly realized that Terra was embarrassed, let alone the reason behind it. All that could be felt from Ralph was a happy, anticipating attitude. He seemed to relax though, letting his smile ease up and his stance to slacken a bit.*

Terra nodded, figuring she could survive with the few spare outfits she had in her room, which meant she only needed the swimsuit, though she still felt slightly embarrassed at the notion of being seen in one. But that paled in comparison to the prospect of spending a few days outdoors and her excitement overrode her embarrassment. It didn't seem like he had picked up on it anyway, so there was little point in dwelling on it.
She shrugged. "I can pack when we're done shopping. Let's just go now and get everything."
She pulled the jacket that had been tied around her waist loosed and pulled it on over her tank top and pulled her boots on. "Let's go."
With that, she and Ralph left the gardens and from there, made their way into Coronet.

The young Jedi stepped from the cool of the corridor into the relative heat of the meditation garden. There was a scattering of people, all silent and at various stages in their reflections. She looked around, nerves somewhat taking over her. It had been many years since she meditated. In the past she found that she never really had the patience for sitting still and being quiet; she would much rather be perfecting her piloting skills or searching through star maps for distant worlds. Her previous Master on Cirrus had called her a restless soul, as did her Mother before him. She had heard others talking, calling her the same.
The light breeze that rippled through the air tickled her cheeks and made her curls float about her face. Her dark eyes narrowed as she scanned the garden, looking for a spot where she could sit without disruption. After a few seconds, she found a place and moved quickly towards it. All the other Jedi were too engrossed to notice her presence. She sat down and crossed her legs. She inhaled deeply and adjusted her position before exhaling.
“Right, let’s give this a go”

as i made my way slowly to the corridor that ran parallel to the gardens i walked around the edge of the beautiful garden until the grassy features gave way to a pond, complete with a small water fall. figuring out the course, i made my way to a gazebo that sat just on top of the water. settling to the ground i focused on the sounds until my comlink went off." who is it this time?" reading the message, i felt my heart drop. The message was from Seisir, asking if I was alright. I didn't realize that my path after the battle would lead the council's black guard to send out a notice of my death. it was truly disheartening. trying to think out my possible plan i tapped into the darkness that was in my heart from the last time i used it, and I asked bogan to show me future paths. since i was not willing to make the commitment that one would consider important to see every path, the visions i saw were "choose your own adventure" books. But as i watched both futures, i saw nothing to indicate either were preferable. If i went back to her, at one point or another, there would be a falling out because i promised to keep in touch... If i left and news got to my wife that i was still alive, well let me just say that if i traveled down that road and she heard from someone else first that i would need a strong defense against weapons worse than the fire and brimstone found in chaos. As i considered my options, my vision to the present became clouded. i could not see that what i was doing was causing ripples in the otherwise still waters, and causing winds bearing stink... (admitedly, i should have stepped into a refresher while i was still in the infirmary.) to flow in all directions making a barrier to those that would try to get closer to my location.

Newly returned from Coruscant as an appointed High Councilor, Jade was moving through the academy in search of Terra Kiros and cutting a shortcut through the gardens of meditation. However, she stopped, considering. The aura suffused in sadness centering in the gazebo was one that she recognized in passing. Diamonte Tuhlute. He had been one of the first arrivals in the Spire on Coruscant. And he'd been very much involved in the events around Carida.
She turned and walked over to where he was, footsteps lightly crackling a fallen leaf or two as she approached. A few feet away from him she stopped, not going to mention that it had been awhile since he'd seen a 'fresher, and bowed in greeting. "Master Diamonte Tuhlute, I believe?" though she knew full well it was him. Calm green eyes contemplated him standing there, the peaceful background of the lake behind him and the sound of falling water providing a gentle backdrop against which to hold a conversation. "Welcome to the Corellian Academy."

At the sound of Master Jade’s voice i finally broke my trance, and with a labored grunt made my way to my feet so i could make a respectable bow.
“Good evening, your grace.”
then, checking my chrono, I was shocked that i had been in a meditative state for 8 hours. the other thing i noticed was that, if my chrono was right, the bells should be going off across the planet for the denizens to either enjoy High Tea, or Happy hour.
‘I curse Frantz for giving me a misconception of cornelian people to be either prim and proper, or hilarious drunks.’
chuckling inwardly i sat back down. looking around a drop of sweat falls that Master jade was still standing and probably could be benefitted by a chance to rest her legs
“i would offer you a seat, but there is not even one for myself. the ground is the seat that i use.”
My mind’s eye thought over everything that had happened in the last few months, the redacted minutes of the council meeting in which Adi was promoted to Master, Mike’s message calling me to Carida for a “simple tech job”, the weeks of isolation making sure every possible security system was online and working at a standard of quality i expected from every project i tied my name to… the meeting with dred, and finally, the battle where i had to blow up the base. my mind’s eye tried to make sense of it all. factors weren’t fitting into place… but then, when did they. i rested my head in my hands as i felt synapses firing powerful releases of electricity across my brain. Then with honest eyes, I looked at Jade
“Master Jade, my spirit is troubled. in my reflections of the Carida Mission, it seemed that however it was set up… even with grand intentions, the base was doomed to fail as soon as you left for the first terroristic strike. it honestly doesn’t make sense that something, if it was as secretive as i was led to believe, that any loose ends would be present that would allow the base to be found…”
then shifting my gaze to the object in my hand, a small trinket, a tear was shed
“It would make a lesser man turn away from the council… and these days, i count myself as a lesser man”

'Your grace?' Altogether a flowery title generally belonging to a politician. I've never been one. My experiences with politics have led me to seek a much more quiet, unobtrusive, and generally longer-lived lifestyle. Those to whom such titles belong seem to possess them a very short, violent time.
Jade hardly grimaced. "I'm not a grace, Diamonte. It would be more likely for me to be an Element." She was a bit rough, or hardened for the semi-pampered lifestyle of the born politicians and royalty. Far from ugly, she was not yet what most would consider 'pretty.' The hand of Father Time had chiseled her facial features into angular planes more resembling the elegant lines of a bird of prey, erasing the softness of the adolescent. "A seat is hardly necessary," she replied quietly, moving to the edge of the gazebo and lightly leaning upon the railing, just a shade more relaxed than her usual rigidly erect posture.
Brilliant emerald eyes contemplate the forlorn figure of the worn out Jedi sitting on the floor in front of her. He seemed much the worse for wear, having let his appearance run downhill since the meeting of the Jedi on Coruscant.
Carida. So much rested upon that specific place and point in time. It was the epicenter of a ripple effect that had spread outward and rocked most of them in one way or another. Jade knew it would come back to this eventually. All things return to the place of their birth ultimately.
The sole ornament upon Jade's person was twin gold and jet knotwork hairsticks, a matched set that held her long black hair twisted up at the back of her head. A ray of sunlight glinted off one of them with a peculiar radiance that vanished a millisecond later.
"Secrets have a way of being discovered," was her enigmatic opening remark. However dubious circumstances might appear, she herself truly did not know how Carida had been traced. Her path was one that had not been followed. She had never spoken of Carida, even during her subsequent decision to augment her bank account by collecting a large posted bounty upon her own self. "There is more to winning than winning. How one wins is of utmost importance. Some would say it is the only thing that divides us from the Sith. Did anyone ever carry out the proposed strike on the Oyu'baat?" she queried.
As he lost himself in whatever he was holding, even to the point of tears, Jade spoke quietly, but firmly, unless he was truly gone, the steel would penetrate even to his subconscious eventually. "It is not given to you, or anyone, to determine your own worth. That is for your actions, posterity, and history, Diamonte. Enough of this 'lesser man' talk." Whomever he had lost had obviously been close, but wallowing was never a healthy thing. A period of mourning yes, forgetfulness with the aid of strong drink, also yes. She wondered if he had proceeded through that portion of grief yet. If he did not, he was in danger of letting this thing overwhelm his sense of being.

I took in all of what the high councilors had to say before I began to contemplate my answer. Speaking at any other said seemed to confuse even my simple brain.
As jade spoke of the Oyu'baat, I did something I had not done in a long time... I mentally surfed my synapses to find information related to this location. By what would seem to jade as me waving my hands in some form manner in the same fashion as typing on a keyboard, and then sliding a screen of data the held no use in my quest.
But what was happening, was each screen held held bits of data from within in my own head. This, was results of additional serpluflous brain surgeries to insert data chips into my brain in key locations to aid in my desire for order first within my own brain. I nearly thought that I had found the desired "file" when upon its opening, was revealed a 3d GIF of a wagging finger. My only draw from it was initials emblazoned on the palm
'N.I.'
Looking up to the master with innocent eyes, I shook my head.
"I am sorry, but I guess I am unaware that such an attack was planned to be held. I was on Carida at the behest of master frantz, and I worked within my usual J-TECH perimeters to make the base as functional as possible for those existing in the walls and to make sure the defenses were as ready for any attempt to take the base… guess i didn’t do too well in that regard. in fact the only time i even considered the outside galaxy was on a trip to Bimmisaari… for whatever purpose that held…”
then my mind went into overdrive. I tried to think besides the new associate we picked up, why we were on that planet. placing a hand on my forehead i felt the chips begin to overheat. taking a few deep breaths to calm down as my mind pulled a complete 180.
“heh, Auric bring me here to dissuade me from becoming some grey hermit… and the fruits of his actions seem to make me more sure in my course. I think best course should be to avoid this war all together. The is a monastery in the mountains on bakura, near a village named Avlione. It is said to be welcoming of any force users that walk in the light. I could sort myself out there for a time…"

Jade smiled. There were many different techniques for remembering and accessing those memories. Diamonte's appeared to be attached to vague physical flipping gestures almost as if he was reading an invisible book.
Knowing the Mandalorians as she did, she suspected that during that specific attack, no amount of defense would have held out indefinitely. She still had not managed to get the details from the Admiral, though she was under the impression that Taung was behind the strike and had only passed along the outcome after the fact. Time would tell, because she was determined to find out.
"You take on too much blame, Diamonte, I am thinking." She knew, of course, that this would have little affect upon his attitude and decisions, but she put it out there anyway. Maybe eventually he'd remember it. "Defense...is ultimately a losing strategy, and in this case, overwhelming force seems to have been applied. But I do not have all the details to hand," she shrugged expressively.
It was a good thing he managed to calm himself down. Though she had rudimentary knowledge of healing, most of her first aid knowledge relied upon practical battlefield usage, not the Force itself. She preferred to refer those types of things to those who specialized in healing, like Twi'Lek Master Nalatua'lin down in the infirmary.
"One can only run so far, for so long... the war will eventually find you, though you may perhaps delay it for a time. It is necessary to withdraw in order to regroup, but if you have decided to seek the path of the hermit for now, do not get lost. There are those who would benefit from your society, knowledge, and presence even if you are unable to see it for yourself."

I nodded for a moment, the councilor’s words rang true. I knew that I could not consider myself the fault of the issue indefinitely.but at the same time, the pang of feeling Puck ripped from my presence twice within as many months was rough. even to the point where the rip was what gave me enough time to escape the explosion of the base.
rising without giving my writer a chance to write some sort of vision where my alliance shifts from the jedi to serving ashla alone, I gave a smile to Master Jade.
“Thank you for your time Master jade for your time. Yes, the fact that some value my talents is not lost on me. but right now, I am unsure of any path forward besides ashla perhaps calling me towards Bakura”
i walked a few steps before hanging my head in confusion for a moment. then, reaching into my satchel I searched around until I found two items, a small bell with nothing inside to make it ring under normal circumstances, and a beta-chip into the Jedi holonetwork array. wrapping them within one of my last clean silk handkerchiefs, I turned and presented them to master Jade
“It is said, that around this time of the year, it is traditional to exchange small trinkets with others. consider these your gift from me. the bell is made of a metal designed to audibly resonate only when in flowing with the energies of the force. the chip is something more practical. I have little doubt that at some point that a problem will arise that some may think I can solve. the chip will allow you to contact.”
giving Jade one last smile I said
“If something does arise that needs my attention, I will be listening for details.”
then making a bow that seemed overly complex for what should have been two equals talking, I made my exit. Although I was now sure in my ways again, I knew I still would have to find a ride off world. and knowing Auric had ties to my supplier, I figured him where I could attempt to obtain a ride.

"To Bakura it seems you will be going then." Jade replied, more a thinking out loud than a query or declaration. She was well aware that the Force did not always seem to make sense on the surface in how people were led to do various things. Somehow, most of the time, they seemed to be in the right place at the right time, depending on one's point of view of course.
She accepted the handkerchief and items he offered her, though a bit confused by his doing so. Jade led a spartan lifestyle for the most part, collecting few personal possessions and wearing little jewelry...the main exception being a ring on her left hand of carefully wrought marble and gold, with three Corusca gems set into it equidistantly from each other. "Thank you Diamonte, but, I believe this is more a human tradition? I have nothing to offer you in return---I was unaware of the holiday." Indeed, Terran celebrations often seemed complex.
"In that case, I believe it is the custom to wish you safe travels. I am sure our paths will cross again eventually. And, if you'd listen to an old woman, I'd suggest you get at least twelve hours of sleep before setting out on your journey." She returned his bow with a graceful one of her own, watched him leave before turning back to the distant waterfall for a moment, and then headed off herself to see where Terra had gotten to again, determining that in the future her padawan was going to be traveling with her unless there was some extremely pressing reason standing against it.

A new figure entered the garden. It was a rather large zabrak with black hair. His clothing was rather simple & functional, mainly consisting of a pair of brown trousers, a loose grey shirt, & vest with several pockets. The only unusual feature was the pair of seal-goggles that he wore, but even those could be commonly found on those from planets with unusual atmospheres or lower than normal levels of light. The only other visible distinction was the simple band that he worn on one hand. White marble veined with gold & studded with a trio of Corusca gems. Spotting Jade making her was toward one of the exits to the gardens, he calls out loud enough for her to hear, but quietly enough not to disturb the others in the garden.
