Over time...Think they might have gone about it the wrong way, but I am sure it will reach the same conclusion. Honoghr's isolation was always something that weighed heavily on Zik. He felt that the council should have been made up of a single member from each temple or academy. *Ralph continued to pet Durind, knowing he was rambling and possibly even getting annoying, but getting the chance to talk about Zik eased some of the pain of his leaving for the young man.*Circumstance was against him back then though...I know I have talked about him a lot since I sat down, but its only because knowing his story...He didn't train traditionally like we have. No master took him on. I talked with one of the other masters once and found out Zik had technically still been a padawan in name while he was head master of the Honoghr temple. He should have been knighted years ago...and nothing changed when he finally was. Sad that the title alone made others treat him differently in the order... *Ralph's eyes softened and he smiled again.* It is easy to take for granted the guiding hand of a master when we expect it out of tradition, any easy to forget we are not all so fortunate. But the guiding forces have plans for us all.

Terra was glad to hear that Ael's pet wasn't going to be threatening anyone, though she wondered if anyone else had seen it. Hopefully no one would panic if they encountered it.
She had never been to Yavin IV, and so far Serrin hadn't opted to ever take her there, though they were planning to visit Coruscant in the near future. Still, maybe if they did visit the jungle moon someday, she might be able to acquire a pet. Definitely something to keep in mind.
Ralph continued to talk about his former master, Zik, and the way he was speaking made it apparent that his master's departure was still very much a fresh wound for the young man. Her heart went out to him, but she wasn't sure what she could say to him. Normally she wasn't one to talk a lot in any situation, and it was at times like these that she wished she was better with words.

"A person's true worth is never dependent upon a title, Ralph." Jade replied quietly, aware that the things he was speaking of now were close personal issues for the young lad. Evidently he had been incredibly close to 'Zik.' The isolation and insularity of the various Jedi Academies was something that had deeply bothered Jade for years. In fact, it was a major factor in the reason she'd set herself apart from any affiliation with the Jedi and lived her own life for some years dancing on the edge of a diplomatic knife between Mandalorians, Jedi, and Sith, not to mention the Yuuzhan Vong. There had been a time when she'd almost joined the Osarian Jedi, as well as the Yavin Jedi...but that had not come to be. Then, she had visited Serrin on Corellia, been welcomed with open arms and offered a place here with them. She was not yet ready. There were still loose ends to be tied up. But, she had then journeyed here.
"Too much unity can lead to a stifling sameness of opinions and prejudices and a studied blindness of specific areas. Too much diversity can lead to chaos, an inability to decide on any one course of action. Either extreme is bad. Hopefully with the recent unification of the Jedi on their several planets we will achieve a balance in the middle." She considered a moment. "Perhaps Zik will return? Very few things are set into stone...and the future is always in motion."

Terra was glad that Ael was there to say something to Ralph. It was always difficult for her to talk to people, especially strangers, and she hoped that didn't make her seem cold or uncaring. Since arriving on Corellia almost a year ago, she had been getting a little better at talking to people, though many were lucky to hear her speak more than two or three sentences to them per day.
Since the Conclave on Tython, she had watched the Jedi Order attempt to unify from a diverse collection of academies, yet so far, she hadn't seen many new transfers, aside from the newest student, Ralph. Still, the Conclave hadn't been that long ago, even though it felt like a lot longer than just a month or two.

Possibly, but more so unlikely. He needs to walk a path he fits in to. As great a teacher to me as he was, the jedi life never really seemed to fit him
*Ralph shrugged a bit and re-situated himself on his bag. He noted that Terra was not very talkative, but took no offense to it. He did just arrive after all, there were bound to be a few people who were unsure how to take Ralph yet. Ralph looked up at the sky to try and gauge the time of day, but the cycle here was different. With another shrug to himself, Ralph smiled to Jade and Terra*
Thank you again for letting me sit with you two. Can always get a bit awkward being the new kid.

Jade considered Terra's silence. She didn't know her well enough yet to subtly draw her out. So, she hoped the young woman would discover her confidence in time and rejoin the conversation. "Each one of us is, or will be, the 'new kid' at some point in time. But, you are indeed welcome, Ralph. I know Serrin would be pleased to meet you as well." She considered for a moment. Zik had not 'fit in' with the Jedi it seemed. Perhaps his philosophy had been more 'Grey' in nature. For years she had regarded herself as at least 'unorthodox' and often she had not felt at home among the Jedi. However, she had returned to Corellia determined to work with Serrin Roma and change that. It was high time she led an active life once again, rather, an active life within the Order, and with her old friend. Perhaps in time she would make some new ones. But, she was not in a hurry to do so.

Terra remembered being the new student at the academy, though she had Serrin to thank for her rather quick acclimatization. Even though she didn't have much to say, hopefully it helped Ralph feel more at ease here, even if just a little. Her shyness was practically her calling card here at the academy, but she hoped she could get to know Ralph a little better in the days to come. Adjusting to a new place was easier with a friend, and Terra hadn't had anyone in her age group to talk with when she had first arrived.
She smiled."You're welcome."

Honestly, I can't wait to get to training. There is only so much a young man can do in a small ship that has a set course here
*Ralph chuckled a bit and patted Durind on the back. The little dragon popped his head up and scurried over into Terra's lap. Ralph slid off of his bag and flicked the long tail of hair to lay on his chest as he laid in the grass and looked up at the sky.*
Though, I am going to have to get used to a new day and night cycle, so maybe I should take a few days to get acclimated.

Terra giggled as Durind scurried over and she couldn't resist the opportunity to pet the cute little dragon as it settled into her lap. It was surprising that the little guy had taken such a liking to her so quickly, as she never felt that she had a way with animals. Still, the little guy seemed to have taken a liking to her, at least early on.
She cooed at the little lizard perched in her lap. "Hi Durind! Are you comfy?" She giggled again as she petted the tiny krayt dragon.

Nearly lost in her own thoughts, the young Jedi Knight wandered deeper into the meditation gardens of the Corellian Academy, the hem of her long green Jedi robes brushing gently against the lush ankle-deep grass. Here and there, Jedi sat alone or in small groups, but Kay'li paid them little notice. Corell's shining light, and the quiet summer breeze against her face, and the lush green vegetation full of life and the force, all had a calming effect as she focused her mind, concentrating on the recent tests and trial that the Force had placed upon her padawan. Theomiir was nearing the end of his apprenticeship, and the Academy council had authorized her to test him with a series of trial. But where should she begin? She thought back to what her brother had done, years ago, when she herself was an apprentice.
Stepping around a small clump of trees, Kay'li rather suddenly found herself practically face to face with Terra Kiros, Master Roma's padawan, and two other Jedi whom she did not recognize. The distant look that had been in her blue eyes rather suddenly dissolved, and her cheeks reddened slightly. "Er, excuse me." She nervously pushed a wisp of brown hair out of her eyes. "I-I didn't see you."

The corners of Jade's lips tweaked upwards in a faint smile, watching as Terra familiarized herself with the small krayt dragon that Ralph had brought with him. Her first pet hadn't been even remotely cuddly. But, that had been her only pet until her encounter with Admiral Z'har Or'dinii, during which she'd fought him hand to hand and won Selaya as a gift. That had been years ago now, but she still remembered it as both pleasant and stimulating. She wondered where he was currently, or if the old warlord was even still alive. However, she hadn't heard or felt anything to the contrary, and a figure like that would have at least merited some sort of mention in the holonews. "You'll probably become accustomed to this climate faster than you'd imagine, Ralph. Having a specific 'day' and 'night' cycle based upon planetary motion is something that most beings have hardwired into their systems."
"How is it that Serrin never put you in charge of some sort of animal, Terra? Some use that as a way to teach minor responsibility." Jade didn't carry that any further. Pets, and loved ones, were sometimes more nefariously used as leverage. It was hard to be truly 'free' unless one did not have anything or anyone to care about. And with that freedom comes also great loneliness. Again, a balancing act was required.
Among the various stationary and slowly moving Force auras in the Garden, denoting whether people were sitting and relaxing or meandering about, she noted one that was moving almost directly toward them and yet not with any seeming intent of purpose in seeking them out. Hence, Jade found herself looking up at a young Jedi Knight clad in green with a slightly distracted look as she suddenly became aware of their presence. She smiled warmly, "Do not trouble yourself over it. This is not a 'private tree' and you are welcome to join us if you'd like." She considered momentarily, then introduced herself quietly with a graceful air, her Force aura pervaded with a sense of subtle authority and dignity, "I'm Jade." She assumed Terra was already known as Serrin's padawan. "And this," accompanied with a gentle motion of her hand, "is Ralph Kaez, recently arrived on Corellia, and seeking further instruction."

Terra shrugged at Ael's suggestion that she be given a pet to teach responsibility, though she hadn't really thought of it like that before. If there was ever a pet, she figured it would just be for companionship and not just a lesson in the making. Not that she would be opposed to having a little animal companionship, especially if there were other little guys as cute as Durind here.
She was too occupied with the adorable little krayt dragon Durind to notice Kay'li's approach, at least until the Jedi Knight was practically on top of her. Fortunately, little Durind wasn't scared away by Terra's startled reaction, only looking up to see who or what had startled his new friend. She recognized the Knight as Kay'li, having seen her around the academy and at the Conclave on Tython, though they hadn't ever talked before now due to their mutually busy schedules.
Terra also started to blush a little as she replied."It's OK."She resumed petting little Durind, who had settled back onto her lap.

==Jedi Knight Soloiem Dem==
A slender and tall Zabrak male with flesh colored skin and with thin lined face tattoos. a high ponytail serenely strolled into the Meditation Garden with his hands locked behind his back and as his deep brown eyes studied the newly bloomed lotuses on the trees as he strolled towards the group of Jedi conversing.

Jade looked up and smiled as Soloiem Dem approached, greeting him with a nod and seated half-bow that still managed to look fluid and graceful. She hadn't had dealings with many Zabraks before, but there was one who had stood out. That had been many years ago now, but she remembered him fondly, and occasionally wondered how he was faring on his side of the universe.
She'd been here at the Corellian Academy for some days now, and still Serrin had not told her what role she wished her old friend to fill. Patience was not something that Jade liked, except when the purpose was obvious, but she was forced to admit that it is often a necessity.

The young Jedi Knight quickly recovered her composure as the now-introduced Jade spoke, the older woman's smile doing much to quiet her momentary embarrassment. "I'm please to meet you, Master Jade, and you too, Ralph." She reached up with her right index finger, very gently brushing a fly off the bridge of her nose, with extra care not to injure the tiny creature. "I'm Kay'li." The young Corellia introduced herself with a smile, then glanced at Ralph welcomingly. "If there's anything you want to know about Corellia, or need help finding during your stay, let me know. I don't have all the answers, but I grew up here, so I know who to ask."
Her attention was drawn to the four-legged member of the group. It looked like a krayt dragon, but if so, it had to be either a youngling, or a dwarf subspecies that hadn't been mentioned in in her galactic xenobiology studies. It was much too small to be a 'normal' krayt, if the fauna guidebooks of the Jedi Library were to be believed. "Who's your friend, Terra?" Kay'li asked, indicating the small reptile curled in the girl's lap.

Likewise
*Ralph sat back up and smiled. Giving a sharp whistle, and patted his shoulder closest to Kay'li. Durind darted out of Terra's lap and climbed up Ralph's shirt to perch himself on the patted shoulder. The little krayt did the best he could to stretch his head for Kay'li's hand until Ralph started to scrath his little friend.*
This is Durind.

Jade naturally wasn't going to say anything but she was wondering why these Corellian Jedi seemed so easily embarrassed. She was slightly amused; however, it was a bit refreshing given that some Jedi seemingly were overtaken by ego? power? and never had the humility or capability of experiencing embarrassment. She was curious about who Kay'li was connected to, so she'd read the Academy roster later on. "Pleased to meet you as well, Kay'li." She was impressed by the younger woman's skill in intuitively addressing her correctly, but she didn't draw any undue attention to that.
She glanced quickly at the krayt dragon as it returned to Ralph, then attempted to further the conversation, again addressing Kay'li, "So, how long has it been since your Trials?" Jade thought perhaps that would give Terra an opportunity to actively involve herself in the discussion, since she was in the midst of her own Trials.

Terra couldn't hide her disappointment as Durind scampered back to perch on Ralph's shoulder, having been thoroughly enjoying petting the little dragon. It was short lived though, as her attention turned back to the conversation around her. She had been about to answer Kay'li, but Ralph had spoken up before she could, so she quietly sat back and observed the conversation around her. Her shy nature had always kept her from talking very much, even with people that she knew well, and especially with people she had just met.
Without little Durind to occupy her attention, she fidgeted with her Padawan braid while listening to everyone talk around her.

A comlink that had been sent from Coruscant from Jedi Master Adieumus Matango blinks through on Ael Jade's comlink. The Jedi Master needed some help, and Ael was top on his list for 'those he needed to contact'
Ael, this is Jedi Master Adieumus Matango...we met on Honoghr during the last meeting we held there. I am terribly sorry that this message isn't a social call, but with the current situation on Yavin, I have desperate need of your help. Our last conversation on Honoghr, you told me to send you a message if I ever needed your assistance....
This is one of those times.
If possible, I would much appreciate it if you could meet me at the co-ordinates I am sending. Unfortunately, with the current state of events, I cannot send the location to you through voice communication. Please, it is urgent that we speak in person. I believe we can break the siege on Yavin with your help.
I beg of you, please....help us. I fear that if we do not band together and stop this threat, we will cease to exist as an Order.
The holovid message fizzled for a moment, then returned to clarity, showing the spiky haired Jedi's eyes. They showed the desperation he felt, and the true need for everyone to come together. Only as a whole could they defeat the evil that was the Mandalorian war machine...and only through teamwork would the Order survive.
I am leaving Coruscant now, and heading for the rendezvous point. I do hope to see you there. May the force be with you, Ael.
The link faded, and the co-ordinates to the rally point were transmitted, leaving Miss Jade to think on what she wished to do.

Jade glanced down in time to notice her comlink blinking. She then excused herself from the others, gracefully got to her feet, and walked away a few paces. She leaned against the trunk of a tall tree in a manner that seemed nonchalant, though she was very curious about what this all could mean. She pulled out her comlink and with a gentle click she began the message replay.
Deep green eyes narrowed in concentration as she listened to what seemed to be a rather wordy plea for help from...an obviously distressed Adiemus Matango?! She remembered the spiky-haired Prince from Honoghr. Selaya had seemed to actually like the fellow, and for the most part she just tolerated people she'd probably have much preferred to chew on their legs. Adiemus had summoned her there originally for a meeting of Jedi to discuss the possibility of uniting the Jedi Order. And, he'd asked her to join LAN. She'd considered it, but Serrin had asked her to come to Corellia. So, to Corellia she had come.
So far, it seemed the Corellian Jedi had not been much affected by the 'Holy War' of the Mandalorians against the Jedi Order, specifically targeting Yavin 4 at this point in time. To be sure, the old warrior had been feeling a bit antsy lately. Still, 'only hope?' She rolled her eyes dramatically. Her. Right. Not even an acknowledged member of the Jedi Order for many decades, living an isolated life as planetary governor of Galantos, a hideous planet with a disgusting topography useful only for its vast exports of chromium ore. She sniffed disdainfully. Anyway, that was the past.
She replayed the coordinates again. A colony world, Carida. It was located near the Perlemian Trade Route and therefore relatively easy to access. Though, from what she'd heard it was a rough world terrain-wise, hence a great place for the training of young warriors. Jade smiled. She decided she would go and see what this was all about.
Jade clicked off her comlink and replaced it on her belt before returning to the others. She nodded in greeting, though effectively saying goodbye at the same time. She bent and picked up her folded outer robe. She shook it open with a snap and wrapped it around herself quickly. "Terra, Kay'li, Ralph. It seems I am led elsewhere at the moment. It has been pleasant to meet you all, and perhaps you would inform Serrin that I shall return."
She hesitated a moment, considering whether or not to ask Terra to come help her pack. She didn't have much to pack or anything, but...it would give her a minute or two to talk to Serrin's padawan. Hmmm. She looked at the young girl, currently fidgeting with her long padawan's braid and smiled warmly. If she wanted to, she could probably beat the older Jedi to the hangar where her old starfighter currently sat.
Jade bowed slightly to Kay'li and the latest arrival, as yet unnamed, and then left the Garden of Meditation.
