Five glanced at the mention of her intimidating anyone. She knew it was meant as a joke, but she cought it too late. See, where she comes from, most sensible people are intimidated by her presence. She also started to get annoyed with Sabo. She smiled warmly at his boasting but inside, she was planning how many ribs she will break. In her little wormed head, she will have to protect the honor of her sisters. Most importantly, she will have to pose weaknesses she does not have and hide her strength to be able to surprise them IF she ever would have to fight them for real. This would be hard.
-5- "Then they are not weapons, Jedi Sabo." Said the twilek woman who lacked a lightsaber to balance on the palm of her hand. In truth, she lacked hands too, but the special prosthetics hid that fact. They walked off to the training rooms.

*The shuttle came to a stop in front of the academy. Jade made her way off the shuttle and found herself staring in awe at temple before her. Even when she lived here, she had never seen what it looked like, but she couldn't describe it. Slowly, her steps moved forward, one by one, until her pace finally came to a normal walk. It was so big. She could only wonder how many people actually lived and trained here. She went up the steps of the northern entrance, the scene something out of a story. It looked like a castle, something that a child would see in their dreams. But here it was, it was real.
She didn't get much farther as she was stopped by a Jedi master. She figured it'd only be right to make sure any who came uninvited were checked and given permission to enter. Looking to the Master, she gave a small bow.*
"I've come here in hopes to become a Jedi. Who must I speak to about this?"

Arvis was on his usual routine in the grounds, taking a stroll through them as he often did. He was a human male in his mid 40's, though one might mistake him for man barely pushing 30. Dressed in the traditional Jedi robes, he had made a habit of walking out here once every day, enjoying the tranquility that was out here. Normally he wasn't bothered during these strolls, but today was different as a young woman approached him. He didn't recognize her, and he knew almost everyone at the Corellian academy. No, this one was clearly a new arrival.
He stroked his chin as she stated her intention to become a Jedi. Straight to the point, this one. He smiled."Dreams of becoming a Jedi, eh? Well you've certainly come to the right place, my dear!"He extended his hand towards the woman."Arivs Valthomer, at your service!"

*Jade reached out her hand to the man to shake it. Her hands were small, the size one would expect from a young woman. She shook it firmly and gave Arvis a light, innocent smile, something she always did to any she met. It was habit from living on the streets to get what she needed and out of trouble.*
"I'm Jade, Jade Hanac."
*She wore her typical attire, a sleeveless white blouse and black skirt, ending with knee high black boots. Strapped to her right leg rested a burgundy DC-15s blaster in its holster. She ran her hand through her shoulder length silver hair, which was in a ponytail that hung to her left and over her shoulder. Her first thought was to pull the whole young and innocent approach as she did with any on the streets, but quickly pushed it from her mind. These were Jedi and such little tricks wouldn't on them.
Quickly, the shine in her eyes seemed to change, going from a cheery innocent appearance to a more focused and mature look. In fact, her whole face seemed to change, appearing like she was aging from a teenager to a young adult quickly.*
"My father was a Jedi here, but but left when I was born. When I was two, we moved to Contruum. They died there. My father told me not to give into my hate but to seek out the Jedi because he wanted me to put my abilities to good use. It took me a year and a half before I finally could bring myself to come here."

Arvis returned the young woman's smile as she gave her name, Jade Hanac. He thought he recognized the last name for a moment, but there would be time to investigate that later. He thoughtfully stroked his chin as Jade related her story to him, an unfortunate turn for her no doubt. Given that she had said her father was a Jedi here, it was very likely that her parent's death had been caused by the Sith. He had noticed the change in her eyes as she spoke of it, and it seemed there was more to Jade than first might meet the eye."I see."
There was no doubt that the Force was with Jade, which made accepting her for training a no brainer in his opinion. Still, she had mentioned hate, and that was a red flag, especially if the Sith were indeed responsible for her parents's death."I can sense the Force in you, Jade. Whether it will be turned to light or darkness remains to be seen."Arvis's eyes met Jade's as he spoke. He had never believed in sugarcoating, and the truth was that the path of Light was indeed a difficult one. Not all newcomers understood that."The path of a Jedi is not an easy one to walk, but if your heart and mind are set, then I will see to it that you are trained. What do you say?"

*Jade's smile faded as she thought on her family. It wasn't a Sith that had killed them, but just a regular gang of thugs. With her father's skills, one would think that simple thugs wouldn't be a match. But in was a quick end for him. But despite leaving the Jedi, he held them in high esteem. When she had killed the thugs, he came back to her, even after death to try and guide her and keep her from that hate.
She took a breath as Arvis spoke of the difficult path Jedi had to walk. She couldn't imagine how difficult it could really be. She began to feel weak and the urge to run from this place seemed to settle over her. Even now, as she had felt for the past year and a half, the nervousness about being her poked at her mind. But whether it would be difficult or not, she would not be swayed on her choice. She was here and she would go through the training and make her family proud.*
"I watched my father die and I lost myself in hurt and hate. I...I killed them without thought. I would have fallen into that darkness already, but even after death my father spoke to me. He told me not to fall to it. He told me he believed in me and to find those who could help me use my abilities to help others. Those were the last words he spoke to me and it is my desire to see that they are fulfilled. I want to become a Jedi, as my father before me."

Arvis furrowed his brow as Jade went into more detail about what had happened to her, though he noticed that she still hadn't directly named her attackers. It was a little troubling to hear that she had done these things, yet encouraging to see that she had not gone all the way down the dark path. It wasn't uncommon to hear of loved ones or close friends to appear to try and pull someone back from the brink like Jade had described.
Looking at her, Arvis could sense her trepidation, not that he could blame her for that after her confession."So you've tasted the dark side, and yet here you stand."He smiled."It's good that you were able to turn from that path."He placed a hand on her shoulder."You must never forget the lessons you learned that day. They'll serve you well in your trials ahead. But enough of that for now."He gestured towards the main building."For now, we move forwards! We should begin your training right away."

*Jade couldn't help but manage a smile. She did taste the darkness, the hatred and the sheer power that could be gained from giving to it. It was powerful in its temptation, sweet to the taste. But she was here now, pushing to be a Jedi, ready to fight that same darkness that could have taken her. True, her father had spoken to her, but it was her choice and her resolve that kept her strong since that day. She would never forget her parents, the kindness in their hearts, the gentleness of their voices. They would forever remain with her in her heart. It was time to truly take her life, her direction into her own hands.
She looked to the main building. With the focus of her mind, something seemed to change about it all. It was still grand in its appearance, but now it held a different light, a light of truth, power, and the path to do what she was meant to. In that light, she now saw hope. She managed brighter smile.*
"Right away, huh? No rest for the wicked I take it?" *She couldn't help but manage a giggle.*

Arvis chuckled at the little joke, though Jade was anything but wicked in his opinion. In any case, he felt it would be best if they could start as soon as possible. Of course there were one or two items of business to take care of before they started, such as getting Jade registered with the academy and an evaluation of Jade's current skills to see where they should begin her training. Since she hadn't mentioned receiving any Jedi training from her father, Arvis didn't know what her current level of skill was.
First things first, though."Heh, I'm afraid not. First, we'll need to get you registered here, and I'd also like to know what, if any, training you've received prior to your arrival here. It's just so I know where we should start your training at."

*Jade looked to the floor, her mind thinking back to what she had received in training from her father. Her had taught her skills to survive, that was for sure. Perhaps he taught her in hopes of her coming this way at some point. Perhaps it was merely to better protect herself down the road. Or maybe even to pass a little of what he knew on to her. The reason didn't matter, only that she did have some training, some understanding of what would lay before her. Gathering what she learned, she looked to Arvis.*
"My father did train me some. He taught me to use the Force. I started when I was about three. I'm capable of using push and pull, speed, and jump effectively. I have nothing to compare it to, but I like to say I'm very adept at it. I.." *She paused a bit, wondering if she should admit what she did after her parents died, but decided it was best to get such things out now.* "I used them in helping me survive on the streets. I had no money and I was alone, so I became quite effective and pickpocketing. Wrong, I know, but it came from those who seemed to have more than enough to spare and never possessions, only their credits. As such, I'm quite good with slight of hand and also making me graceful, swift, and agile. He also taught me to handle melee weapons, mostly swords and knives, and blasters. The skill I had was more than sufficient to take out the thugs who killed my family. But to face Jedi or Sith, I'd wager my skills would barely keep me alive."

Arvis listened as Jade recounted her training up to this point, glad that she was at least familiar with the basics of using the Force. Still, it seemed that she still had a ways to go, and she knew it. Without a full evaluation he wouldn't know the full extent of her abilities but that would come later. At least now he had a basic idea of where she was at.
He nodded."I see. That's all I need to know for now." He pulled out a datapad from his cloak."Right then. Follow me, I'll get you assigned a room. If you're tired, we can hold off on the testing until tomorrow, but I would like to get that done as soon as possible. Just to get it out of the way." As he spoke, he led Jade into the academy's main building, heading for the residential area.

== The Front Gates ==
The movement from the distillery to the academy was smooth and silent, until the bald man woke up from his stupor about an hour ago. Aleranus had twisted the arrowhead, producing what must have been a mind-numbing amount of pain, before stuffing the man's mouth with a cotton oilcloth and using the song of the Force to twist his mind into compliance, very briefly. The bald man fell asleep not long after and Aleranus had been able to continue his journey south.
As the sun rose, he'd found himself in a copse of trees on the main road to the entrance of the academy. Speeder traffic was light but present nonetheless, and there were guards stationed at the walls. He would not enter undetected. All that mattered was that he never give the prisoner up to anyone other than the Jedi. Even the clones here could be suspect at this point.
There was no going over or under, but so long as none of the speeders passing by were from the planetary authorities, there was a way through. Even a call placed by one of the pedestrian speeders would not be responded to immediately.
It was words that would save him from troubles, now.
Hitching the bald man again onto his shoulders, Aleranus steps out of the trees. A shoulder is visible from the tangle of vines first. Three more steps and a head of black hair, hunched beneath a bundle. Three more and his chest is visible from the undergrowth of the forest. Then it is all there as he walks briskly toward the front gates. A hundred yards and he already sees a speeder shift and swerve, its driver surprised by the sight of a young boy carrying what appears to be a dead body. Three minutes, minimum, until the planetary authorities arrive.
"I am here for Nalatua'lin," he says to the figures at the gate, slowing his speed. "I need help with this prisoner. Jedi help. Please?"

The Sentinel on duty scrutinized the young fellow in front of him, and then sent a quick comlink message to Nalatua'lin. What the Healer had to do with the arrival of what appeared to be an unconscious male was unknown to him.
A few minutes later, the tall figure of the green Twi'Lek appeared amidst the crowd and made her way over to Aleranus as he was dismounting from his speeder.
"Aleranus," she greeted him by name, grey eyes taking in his appearance as well as that of his cargo. One painted eyebrow arched quizzically as she inquired, "what happened?"

Trekking through the darkness of night. Slinking in the shadows like a common criminal. Navigating the woods outside the academy like a clone commando.
And he couldn't help himself. Beneath Nalatua'lin's gaze, his skin pinked, just a little.
"After Bela Vistal proved empty, I followed the song of the Force," he said, shifting the body on his shoulders slightly. "It has not steered me wrong before, and I do not think it did this time either. There is a Sith demon on this world. Somewhere. And this man may know where it is. If he does not, his allies will. Can he be held here, within the academy, until questioned?"

Nalatua'lin paused, uneasy. The Jedi did not generally hold people in detainment, and she wondered what direction Aleranus' intended in his 'questioning.' While she hoped he would not go down a path the Jedi could not condone, she was concerned for him. He had only recently left the tutelage of a Master who owned him as a slave, and the ideological differences that he was learning from the Jedi here on Corellia were very different from what he had been taught.
She looked at the semi-unconscious form with Aleranus and motioned him into the Academy. "Yes, for a time. What are you intending?"

A warm fog swam across the ground to the Academy grounds, stopping at the edge of a walking path that led into the Temple. The fog grew upward, and formed into a circular shape. The center of the circle of fog grew a bright green. Anyone who was around would turn around and wonder what the heck was going on. From the light stepped out Dazbog, fully cloaked in his green robes, stained with coffee. Several crumbs of granola dropped off of his robe as he moved down to the ground.
"I hate traveling by fog. Always makes me sneeze."
Dazbog inhaled sharply and shoved his face into the elbow crease of his sleeve, sneezing very loudly. Wiping his nose on a small Dazbog's Coffeeshop brand napkin, the Whill turned to look back in the direction of Coronet City, where he was also having some fun in the spaceport.
"No telling how long that will take."
The Coffee Whill chuckled lightly to himself as he walked into the Entrance Hall of the Academy.
"I can't remember the last time I visited a Jedi Temple. Was it when Coruscant got sacked? Gosh...My memory is not what it used to be. Soon I'll talking to myself."

A diminutive figure was walking through the halls towards the entrance of the academy. She had no set purpose in so doing, aside from a habit of patrolling the perimeter of the academy at least once a day. This time however, instead of the usual scenery, she spotted something definitely out of the ordinary: a fog, that resolved itself into an individual with a unique taste in attire before dissipating. She folded her arms in front of her and watched as the figure strode towards the academy.
As he entered the academy muttering under his breath, she arched a dark eyebrow steeply.
"Well, it seems you are already talking to yourself."
A quiet voice addressed the Whill of Coffee. Bright emerald eyes contemplated him with a quiet curiosity. She didn't even come up to his shoulder in height, though somehow she managed to avoid giving him the impression of looking up at him. She was wary, though not alarmed. He was strange, but not in the sense of Sith-like strangeness, just---other. Whereas she was generally mistaken for being younger than her actual age, she suspected that he was much older than herself.

Dazbog stopped walking and turned towards Jade, a strange smile on his face. He bowed deeply.
"Well when you been around as long as I have, you find the best company is yourself. Especially when your in a soft rubber room."
Dazbog lifted his bow and chuckled at his own joke. He extended a calloused hand to the small woman.
"I am Dazbog. You can call me Daz, Dazbog, or Bob around the younglings. Some might not have their Z's under control just yet."
Dazbog closed his eyes with his smile, and chuckled again. He sure was jovial for some reason. Maybe it was the light sided environment he was in. Whills loved that stuff, or so he was told, mostly to himself.
"And what would be your name, miss?"
His asking was only a formality. He didn't like to freak out mortals with his knowledge of their lives. Though his extreme friendliness might put off some people.

She smiled back tightly.
"That depends on how one defines 'best' I think. If by 'best' you mean least likely to fail you in a pinch or stab you in the back, then yes, undoubtedly alone is the 'best' company." She had lived that life for several decades herself, and only recently decided that it was not enough. Well, recently in terms of how she counted things. It was close to two years now since she'd left Galantos and taken an active role within the Jedi Order. "But, if you mean 'best' in terms of conversation or companionship...well, that can get a little one-sided after a time. You'll start predicting what your opponent will think and say."
She half-bowed with just as much dignified politeness, if with a modicum less friendliness. No one had ever accused her of being the most approachable person in the universe. She extended a gloved hand in return to grip his own firmly for a moment.
"I am Ael Jade, though to most that is simply 'Jade' or some titular iteration thereof."
Once, long ago, titles had seemed to be a measure of one's achievements in life. Experience had proved that they were not necessarily an accurate measure of the being.
"Welcome to the Corellian Jedi Academy."

"That's what the clones are for, my dear."
Dazbog's own green eyes sparkled a bit as he looked around the Entrance Hall of the Academy, his mind sweeping through the Academy, getting a feel for the place. Dazbog started up his walk again, expecting Jade to follow.
"Well it is a wonderful opportunity to meet you, Jade. Tell me, how are the Jedi doing these days? It has been several a few thousand years since I've visited a Jedi Temple. Anything interesting happen since my last visit?"
Dazbog reached into one of his robe's pockets and pulled out a handful of blueberry granola and popped the handful into his mouth and began chewing, pointing at some of the walls as they walked by.
"I can see the history of the walls. Not much. Must be semi new. Definitely within the last.....Oh by the us carpentry and infrastructure were never my thing."
