WHUMP! ---a small figure came barreling around the corner and smacked right into the shining white figure of a newly arrived Jedi. Since the Laws of Physics apply most emphatically to this situation, she ricocheted backwards and landed hard upon the seat of knowledge. Big blue eyes looked up in shock, taking in fine white robes and traveling up to the stranger's face. She tentatively reached out to take a pinch of the white fabric of his trouser leg. It was so Soft! Immediately she wanted clothes like that.
"S.s.s.sorry!" she gasped breathlessly. "Didn't see you."

Well then, this was quite the unexpected thing to be happening right at this moment. A small girl had supposedly been a bit klutzy and ran straight into me falling to the floor. She had rather beautiful eyes, and my own dark eyes run over her. MY analysis is that she is a padawan, but to be honest she could be a master for all I know of the typical Jedi these days. Isolation seems to have not been as beneficial as I thought, well on the social and political side of things regardless. My duty as a person of morals and values quickly kicks in and I offer my hand to the lady who seems to enjoy the feel of my pants. Which makes me internally roll my eyes, but these Jedi tend to shy away from expensive tastes. Foolishness.
Hello young lady, my name is Eremiel. What would yours be?
I decided an introduction was at least in order to stop her feeling awkward and just making things unbearably bothersome for me. I suddenly feel at least relieved I am not in any rush to get anywhere, and perhaps this girl can help me out some. I think back to my years when I was younger, working with my father as he was a Senator in the Galactic Republic. Quite the wealthy and manipulative man at times, but always reasonably loving to me when he had the chance. Perhaps spoiled me a little more than he should have, and in hindsight given how busy he was he must have thought it to be his only true way to show any affection. Luckily I had a good mother to show me the true value of what I did have.

The small girl's face blushed a deep red as she got back to her feet and dusted off her tunic. She smoothed the fabric and ran her hands over her hair from which a few wisps were trailing out to curl around her face. She sketched a quick bow.
"I'm Emilie," she informed him brightly, not at all aware of the momentary confusion he'd been under since it had never occurred to her that a six year old human female could be mistaken for anything other than a padawan. A cheery smile met his eyes as she stretched out a small hand for him to shake. "Are you new?"
She didn't think she'd seen him before, but there were so many faces in the Academy here she couldn't be quite, quite sure. In fact, her gaze was again drawn appreciatively to his clothes, she knew she hadn't seen that uniform here on Corellia. She didn't know Jedi had clothes like that.

I keep looking at the girl, and I pass off any notions of her being anything other than a young girl padawan. She speaks far too informally to be anything else but such a rank. And as far as I know most Jedi are not into the whole deceit thing. Well, none that I have truly met anyways. I crouch down and meet the girl on a more even leveled field. Big pretty blue eyes, I bet she will be one the boys will want to be around when she grows up, the eyes are always important in that regard. Well I thought so anyways, I pat her on the head with a semi-loving smile, though my eyes remained cold and calculated. I was the son of a Senator, weakness was not allowed, and neither were slip ups.
Well Emilie, as it happens, I am new. I have not been to a Jedi Academy in years, and I thought now would be a good time. I have heard tidings of a changing of the High Council was to happen, and war was brewing on the edges of our systems. Perhaps you can give me a tour and introduce me to some of your elders.
I had no idea if this girl knew of these things, but to be honest, I felt no need to sugarcoat these truths. She would have to grow up eventually, and for all she knew, she could be forced to slice open a Sith or Mandalorian in no time. Best she got on with it and learnt to true meaning of being the Defenders of the Force. I turn away, afraid the fire in my eyes might scare the poor girl. I had truly returned to gain some purpose in life after my sabbatical. I have trained and meditated relentlessly for nearly twenty years, and all my knowledge was going to waste in my isolation. I needed to begin again in the ranks of Jedi, though I fear they may not like all I have to say. People fear the truth more than anything, especially when it shatters their self-made ignorance.

This would be a step in the right direction, the first step he's taken since the death of his father when he was just a boy. His father expected to train him to be like the ideal Jedi and he hadn't noticed Jared was in need of a father and not a Jedi Master. He grew up in a boys home for the most of his life and that's where he found his family, amongst children without a family. One day ago he had a dream of the night sky with all of those shimmering stars shining bright, and none of them were out of reach. He could go anywhere, be anything. He looked about the area taking in his surroundings, Jared knew this is where he had to be.
There was something special about this planet and he could feel it, there were probably many more Jedi in there. Those much like his father once was and only until now did he feel nervous as those thoughts sunk into his head. He knew his father wanted to train him but Jared never knew much details of his life as a Jedi, he just knew about the stories. Continuing closer to the Jedi Academy he eventually started to walk threw the Entrance Hall.

Emilie stepped back a couple steps so she could look up at him more easily, and placed her hands on her hips, standing there arms akimbo radiating a childlike confidence that this shiny white Jedi meant her no harm. With an amusing air of serious dignity, as she felt to be necessary after running into him in such a fashion earlier, she addressed him in carefully formed sentences.
"Everyone knows about the war. The Mandalorians hate us. Why?" The Jedi didn't start wars. They didn't invade planets and take over governments and do 'bad' things like the Sith. But, they were still hated. "The High Council? Like on Coruscant in the huge Temple?" She had seen holovids and pictures, but that was the closest she'd ever been to the historic center of the Jedi Order. And she really wanted to explore it someday.
Of course she could show him around. Well, around the main areas anyway. She wasn't about to show him all her special shortcuts and hiding places. Not yet. She grinned up at him, then tried to look serious. "Are you hungry?" She slipped her hand into his to lead him off down the hall---
---when she felt a flicker and suddenly gripped his hand tightly, craning her neck to look back over her shoulder towards the door just a second before someone else stepped through. Blue eyes assessed this man quietly and filed away the information gathered. She felt instinctively that he was lonely. "Ummm... hi."

Interaction with someone he did not know wasn't something he was good at, even if that someone was a young girl. His life consisted of a small group & everyone else during those times were seen as a threat, it be even the smallest detail in their lives endanger of changing it wouldn't matter, basically everything stayed the same and everyone else didn't matter. No war or warlord could tear his family apart, just the cold betrayal that ended with blood, revenge & heartache.
When he was walking threw the hall, some men and women looked at him. Very few walked his way but when even fewer walked in his direction, anxiety got the best of him and he would pretend like he hadn't seen them as he walked along. I'm not like this...I'm not mean. I'm just nervous and maybe afraid. He would go about thinking and to meet people that could be like his father is actually nerve wrecking, if someone older, someone like his father & perhaps the age his father would of been right now greeted Jared, he wouldn't know what to say after he shook the mans hand. Perhaps he would go about crushing every bone in his hand and talk to, no. Shout, at his father that he needed him to guide Jared as a father, and not a Jedi. Then the awkward part would come to pass after assaulting an elderly stranger who hasn't met Jared before in his life. Yep, very awkward indeed.
Though that wouldn't be the case, just something he would want to say to his father if he were alive right now. Since the death of his father he did practice the limited teachings of sword combat his father once showed him. Though the weapon equipped at his side wasn't even sharp enough to cut threw a Tauntaun, maybe give someone a few bruises and a head ache, but nothing harmful. Most here would find his clothing to be similar to Jedi apparel, yet somewhat different. So he wore apparel similar to that of a Jedi, but he didn't believe in the Jedi views & values threwout his life, Jared didn't believe in anything actually. So what's a Jedi Master, to a padawan who don't believe in anything. A father who ignores what his son really wants. Jared understood he wasn't ready to become a Jedi back then until he realized he is ready. So all of these thoughts were occurring to him as he moved threw the entrance hall now that he was actually here in a Jedi Academy, his eyes set upon the ceiling, the walls, the entire structure really as he moved slowly threw the hall. Then so sudden to Jared he heard a voice close to him, someone he was about to pass, but he didn't keep walking this time. Um, Hello...little girl.
Clearly he didn't know how to talk to children, he acted as if she were an unidentified object with the ability to communicate. Everyone else here he expected to be like his father, act without deep emotion and call this force of nature their ally. Maybe he just didn't understand the force as much as he would like to. What are you? He thought. Your a Padawan here? He said to her, acknowledging that the man is here as well.

Well, I wasn't really hungry but I decided to take the young girl up on her offer anyways. I wonder just how far things have come in my absence and I begin to look around the Entrance Hall. It was relatively busy and the crowds always had somewhere to go, though strangely everyone seemed rather cheerful. I don't join in with their glee, I have not found what their happiness lies in, but who knows. Maybe this girl's childlike mannerisms might lead me down that path, or maybe it will have the opposite direction. I manage to draw my lips into a smile regardless and motion toward the girl to lead on ward.
I won't turn down an offer for food, I would feel rude to do so. Please, show me the way pretty lady.
Maybe the compliment will make her day, then again, she's young and probably draws many of them from the people around her. Such young people seem to draw such things from adults. I wonder what her skills as a Padawan are, and how far along her training she is. She couldn't be that old so she wouldn't be that far through, but even I can sense that she has potential. Perhaps I will see her again in the future and get to work with her as a Jedi Knight. She has a curiosity that perhaps would draw the eye of the Watchmen, but this will be answered in the next few decades. My pondering is of little merit right now, she has much to experience yet.

"Or a drink. It doesn't have to be just food, Master Eremiel," Emilie added quickly. "Big people get drinks a lot. Some of them sleep afterwards." She shrugged. "I'm not big people yet. They don't even let me have a taste of anything. But it must be awesome." She smiled up at him happily, then stiffened and drew herself up importantly as someone else addressed her. This person talked to her as if...she wasn't a person, but some sort of android with the ability of verbal communication.
"Little girl?! Good afternoon, little boy. You aren't sooo much bigger." She snapped back. So what if she wasn't the tallest person in her class? Tallness didn't necessarily equate to talent or importance or...anything really. She looked up at Eremiel, maybe he thought she was really small too. But, he had been nice. And he thought she was pretty. Well, she reflected, he said she was pretty. That could be something else entirely. She sighed. "Yes, I'm a padawan. But, still in group classes. None of us have been chosen by individual masters yet. Are you a padawan?"
She was terrified she wouldn't be chosen. But, mostly she ignored that and tried very hard not to think about it. She was only six. There was still time.

I chuckle at this girl, she was making me feel older with every minute I was with her. I look at the man, and my thoughts fall on my own childhood. I don't remember ever having this level of innocence. Maybe being brought up as I was robbed me of that, though the fact I had wealth and a father that always kept tabs on me even when I was a padawan. I never was much liked by the other padawans, and I guess that was the reason I preferred solidarity work over working with others. I sum this man up through a single looking upwards and then downwards, he probably either felt flattered or insulted by it, but I cared little for other people's thoughts of me.
No, not a padawan. I have not been a padawan for much longer than you have ever been alive. A drink does sound lovely, feel free to lead the way.
I wonder if she understood what I meant completely, like to her, even with the pointy ears, I was probably no older than twenty or twenty one. Standing next to the man beside me, we could of been peers for all she knew. Though the ears kinda say we are not of even the same species. I hold out my hand to the man regardless, though no smile or warmness seems to come from my almost calculating and cold face. It was nothing personal, but once again it would probably be taken as a slight. People were so feeble and personalized everything, everything revolved around themselves and failed to see anything beyond their own eye balls.
Hello young man, I am Eremiel. I am just off to grab a drink, with this young lady. She seems to be the expert of this academy. I just came here recently. Where do you fair from?

He couldn't help it, at first he didn't know what to say but as she snapped at him he felt he needed to say something quick even though he hadn't thought of anything. Oh uh, sorry. I really didn't mean anything by it, it's just well... He stopped talking, unable to respond in a way he knew which wouldn't upset the young girl. His people skills weren't the best clearly and he knew explaining the height difference wouldn't of been the best way to take this. He looked from the girl to the man after he spoke and held his hand out to Jared, from his hand he looked to Eremiel's face with a seconds pause before he shook the guys hand. Lionel..
He said to him as he studied the mans expressionless face. He always thought of meeting a Jedi Knight other then his father, but Eremiel is certainly not what Jared expected. Though for some reason Jared hadn't been thinking of what this man would of been thinking of Jared right now, perhaps it was his personality which made Jared feel this way. That look he thought a Jedi would have, the look his father use to give him as he thought of Jared's future and his potential to be something great. Someone like this, Jared thought, nodding to himself in thought. He is someone Jared would feel at ease around, quite the opposite of most. Even if his thoughts differed from his expression it did not matter at the moment. Before things got awkward he spoke up again. Actually it's Jared Lionel. He said as he spoke to both the man and girl.
He didn't like being the one people would pity, it's why he never told the truth about his upbringing and where he grew up. Before his father was gone he lived on Dantooine and because of his fathers reputation people would just call him Lionel. Maybe during the later years before his father died he had wandered away from being whatever a true Jedi actually means. The man had become a warrior, rather then a protector or peace keeper. I come from Dantooine, but recent years I've been traveling. Just wandering from place to place you know...and I'm not a padawan either. I'm actually here to seek out training myself...i just need to know where to go from here!
He said to the both of them, feeling slightly nervous now as he cast that fake smirk across his mouth and scratched the back of his neck just down under his hair line. If they just know what his father was like or who he was, they would deny their father/son relationship. People who did know, Jared would forever have his fathers shadow cast behind himself of a taller man in armor. An exceptional Jedi with great talent. People expect Jared to be like that one day, but what if he didn't want to be great. Jared intended focusing on what he expected of himself and nothing more, he didn't want to be the 'ideal jedi'. Just ordinary. Nothing special. Though shadows are stuck with you, and his was in the shape of his father, metaphorically speaking. He would forever try and run from it...hoping one day he would look back and have his own story to tell, not a dead mans story.

"Ummm, well..." Emilie considered, tugging on Eremiel's pant leg to catch his attention and make him look at her. "Have you got a padawan?" Her head was tilted to one side as bright eyes looked up at him hopefully. An idea had occurred to her, but she knew enough about adults... the little minx was carefully considering how much Corellian Ale it would take to get Eremiel in a friendly, susceptibly suggestive mood.
In fact, she decided to play nice. Jared looked like he had been out of society for a long time. And he seemed uneasy, maybe even scared. "It's ok." Without letting go of Eremiel's hand, she reached out to take his as well, "Are you hungry too? You should come with us."

He looked down at her hand after she spoke whilst thinking if he should go or not. He isn't hungry, though for some reason he chose to go with the both of them, he said nothing but nodded and waited for her to lead the way.

Let us go then Miss Emilie. I manage a smile at the girl and motion with my hand open palm outwards. I don't know my way around this place so I knew this girl was my only guide at this stage. I begin to wonder if she has a master that looks after her or whether she just acted as a youngling. She was of the age where she would still be a youngling but perhaps she had promise to become a padawan at her age. After a drink and some food perhaps I will ask her to show me what she has learnt so far at this academy. For all I know it could be the best in the galaxy, but again for all I know it could teach absolutely nothing. I also wonder if it contains a library with some holocrons I could look over.

The young girl looked around briefly to see what she was 'missing' and not finding anything, headed off in a semi-bouncy fashion down the hall with her two new acquisitions, pointing out corridors leading to places like guest quarters, the library/archives, infirmary, and training rooms to name a few. In this way, they finally arrived at the Mess Hall.

I stop as I make my way onto the grounds, taking a moment to breath in the air that I had been gone from for so long, see the sight of something that had been my home for so long, and reflect on life, but only for a moment. Too much reflection just lead a person to drink, not that I really needed any help with that. I take a long swig of my flask before making my way through the grounds, blue robes billowing around my tan, may pocketed jumpsuit. The 4 foot long staff crossed with a dull grey sword on my back weighed it down a bit but the winds still caught the sides as my long strides took me toward the entrance to the academy proper. I've been gone far too long. I say almost under my breath as I realize how few faces I recognize. While still technically listed as a headmaster of the academy I haven't been back since before the Carida incident. I never did make it too Kuat, having encountered a bit of a pirate problem on my way. I look down at my temporarily useless left arm as it hangs in a sling across my chest. So much for luck, of course I never had too much of that, aside form the bad kind.
I suppose that it's not entirely good etiquette to just show up unannounced, but I still consider this my home and... well I never cared that much for etiquette in the first place. Pulling my comm out of one of my many pockets I thumb it to message three comlinks (If they happen to be on the planet). I'm Back I say, sending the simple message to Jade, Kel'al, and Will. Of course I hope someone responds I really do need some help, and hopefully a meeting with all three if that can be arranged. There were things long past in need of discussion....

It's about time.
A quietly-amused voice replied over the comlink a few minutes later. Jade hadn't seen much of Mike Frantz since the initial meeting on Carida, the exception being the meeting on Coruscant, naturally.
Shortly following her initial reply, another query arose for him.
To what are we responsible for the pleasure of your company this time?
And then, from what she knew of Mike, which wasn't a whole lot, she suspected that this would be far more welcome after a long journey.
You looking for a drink?

I can't stop the smirk crossing my face as I get a response from Jade. Despite the fact that I haven't spent much time with her I knew that I liked the other master, and this certainly sealed the deal, she was now an accepted Corellian by alcoholic standards, which are of course Quite important to Corellians. Well any Corellian that mattered of course.
I'm always looking for a drink, everyone knows that.
A deep laugh erupts and I wince slightly as my not fully healed ribs ache, and I suddenly cough bending myself over for a moment as I regain my composure.
Are you busy? I ask with a more serious tone, not that I didn't prefer a bit of fun, but I suppose there is quite of bit of seriousness that we need to get through soon.

Always.
The reply crackled back a moment later.
But not too busy for a fellow Jedi. I also happen to have a decanter of prime Corellian brandy in my quarters, courtesy of the Lastdark. Drop by and we'll see what I can do for you?
She inquired on a friendly note. He seemed to be more serious than, well, than normal? She frowned. Something must really be bothering him. With any luck, she'd soon find out what it was. And he hadn't clicked off his comlink fast enough to mask his sudden bout of coughing. Perhaps he'd gotten into a fight?

((Continued from Coronet City.))
=Hesper Calix= "We are here, Little One."
Hesper Calix announced as she stepped into the Temple grounds. The polished stone walkway was covered with colourful leaf litter and Younglings at play. Hesper raised her eyebrow and scowled. Jedi Padawans were not like normal children, "play" was an idle activity that bred foolish thoughts later in life. Children needed discipline!
Patience and discipline was a skill that they needed to remain faithful and focused to serving the Force. Still, looked down at Tantin.
=Hesper Calix= "We are at the Jedi Temple, Little One."
She stopped beside the entrance. Even amongst Jedi she seemed out of place: her face was weathered by the elements and her robes were from the long forgotten era of the Jedi. Jedi Master Hesper Calix would have looked more fitting at the Temple on Coruscant before the fall of the Jedi. She carried herself differently than the others, and she lacked the world-wariness that years of war brought the others.
