On to pressing Agenda matters, how many people are still lurking around that needed an official RPing of joining of the Senate? Are those the next items on the list. Was there something else people wanted address? Despite the fact I've been working hard for the Republic out of character, I would appreciate it if we made my character a senator officially on the boards. Maybe then I could remove you from the office of Supreme Chancellor, make your burdens for the coming year easier than ever?

Just to be clear, the Mandos were attacking Kuat anyway. It was part of their anti-force crusade. Crom'nen just got them to leap-frog the order so that they attacked Kuat before Corellia.
Also, did Rawkill just demand that we disband the military committee and Crom'nen himself? Crom'nen wouldn't mind really. That would give him freedom to move about. Only problem is this: what gives the Jedi the authority to do this? Is this a threat? I have said over and again that I will gladly quit if that's what's best, but I really don't like being threatened, especially by an outside group. But this is exactly what I have been wondering about. Do the Jedi really see themselves as over the Republic? I'm talking more OOC than IC here. I don't like being told what we can do or can't do by another faction.

To me; it seemed like a suggestion that we remove the current military committee only to replace it with a more competent one, and that the character you primarily write be barred from taking up his office as Senator. Considering the simple fact that the current military committee failed to defend one of it's member worlds resulting in this tragedy, it's common sense that an overhaul is needed to ensure that such bloodshed does not happen again on Republic soil. It happens all the time when people are deemed unfit for duty. My reasoning behind this, is that the keyword 'Should' was used there. The Jedi are supposed to be acting in an advisory position within the Republic, thus if they are interested in helping us move forward as a faction, they should be more than welcome to voice their opinions, just as we have been welcomed to voice ours in the foundation of a new relationship with the Jedi.
Being honest, I think you read too far into his post in the hopes of starting another shitfest between our two factions on an OoC level. Personally, I'd suggest that you take a step back and leave it be. We are not being told what to do by another faction and they do not think of themselves as our betters. I believe they once considered us their equals until recent events, so I cannot blame them for slowly edging away from the Republic entirely as if I were a Jedi and in there shoes - that's exactly what I'd do - especially if a renowned Republic character admitted to driving the Mandalorian warmachine into the heart of the Empire. (Despite the fact it was already established they'd be going there anyways. That was Out of Character knowledge being mixed with In Character knowledge, so saying that here essentially means nothing and I am thankful that the Empire has been inactive as of late - they would have not taken kindly to such a revelation.)

Ok, really guys? look from an OOC perspective, we are doing a shit job of getting a long as people if we are so damn suspicious of each other. I'd like to echo Derrick's point in saying that I view you guys, just as I view my fellow Jedi writer's, as far as OOC is concerned. I don't see myself as above you, just as I'd hope you guys don't see yourselves as above me. It's the reason i invited you guys to the discussion over on the Jedi OOC thread, because I am quite frankly over all this miscommunication BS that seems to be happening between our two groups.
Like I stated over on the Jedi thread, from an OOC stance, I want us to be able to work togther, whilst maintaing our individuality, but IC, Rawkill can't just ignore the confession that Crom'nen made on intergalatic TV. All Rawkill did, was plead a case, as Derrick picked up on, that the current Military Committee needs to be changed, since it failed to protect its member worlds (Carida was a Republic world), and especially if it condones committing a war crime (from an IC stand point, how is directing the Mando Warmacht at Kuat, which had not been involved, not a war crime?). Perhaps my post will need a slight edit, to better reflect what I meant, since apparently both Crom and Ludo entirely misinterpreted the itent. So expect that to happen after this post.
Rawkill has never made a demand of the Republic, in fact the wording of his speeches has always been to make suggestions and give advice to help better the Republic IC. note, he requested Knight Mahir's release, not demanded it, but requested it. just as he urged, not demanded, but urged the senate to take action. frankly what you do OOC is your perogotive and not something I have any say in, cause you are your own person/people. And at the same time, Rawkill has no direct say in how the Republic chooses to act IC, but he will do his damned best to lobby for proper justice to be done, especially since the idea of a cold war, is to avoid heating it up, which is likely what would happen if the Republic, In Character, not OOC, but In Character, does nothing about Crom'nens revelation. (that need I remind everyone, was just broadcast across the galaxy In Character)
Suffice to say, considering me and Derrick hold the least amount of IC power, it seems to me like we have a better OOC "relationship" between our two "sides", than those who wanted to bring about this change to begin with. It is really time to seperate OOC from IC. If we continue with this "who are they to make demands of us", when someone makes suggestions and pleas, then we get back into shitstorm territory again, just like Derrick mentioned, especially if we start blurring the line between IC and OOC.

Derrick, apparently you weren't paying attention. The military committee positioned a fleet to defend Ryloth. Three Jedi TOOK THE DAMNED FLEET. It wasn't our failure. That's not the fault of the military committee. That's what happens when a couple of players (not including Mahir) basically pirate our resources.
I'm not trying to start another shitfest. I'm trying to stop it. My character acted as a spy. He did his job. My actions were justifiable. I sent one enemy after another. That would be like sending Al Qaeda after Saddam instead of fighting them both.
Look guys, I'm sick of defending myself when my greatest crime is that I try. You guys have seen Cihlbar and Darma defend me on this board. But the truth is I've tried to be very diplomatic on this board, and I'm getting tired of feeling ganged up on, however unintentionally. Rawkill is a reasonable person, and I appreciate you being willing to edit your post. I feel like I get along with you well.
But I need a break from the bickering. I have fought to try to keep a struggling faction going, and instead I get accused of trying to kill it. I know that you guys are also trying to do what's best, but I just can't take this anymore. I'm either going to lose it and really start a fight with you guys, which I really don't want to do, or I'm going to get mad and quit entirely. So to prevent me from further losing my temper, I'm going to take a break for a while. I'll give Cihl and Ludo my email so they can contact me if I'm needed, but I'm going to be gone for at least a week or so.
Try not to celebrate my absence too much.

However that doesn't excuse the lack of response from the military committee, as they should have gotten off their haunches and did something about it before it had come to what's already taken place. That, in my books is worthy enough of a replacement of the Guard to more responsible people.
Anyways, Enjoy your break.

And yea, Honoghr joined the Republic as they said, and Jedi Order. Now they want to be isolated again. Surprise, no fun. I don't know what good that does, but there you have it. With all due respect to everyone else -- this is mainly for you, Cihlbar....while it is true that Adi did, at one time, want the planet to be part of the Republic, he has nothing to do with Honoghr anymore. IC, he handed the daily running of the planet over to Ice and resigned his post as it's governor. On numerous occasions in chat, OOC, (on the old site in front of others present) he stated it also. He hasn't RP'ed on the planet in probably over a year, give or take a month or two. Zion and I, and a handful of others have been the ones to keep up the RP there - and Zion and I have been the "leaders" of Honoghr for all that time too.
Now to be fair to Adi, he hasn't had internet for the last 7 or 8+ months, since whenever he last posted on Coruscant during the Jedi Council elections and just before the assault on Kuat. The fact remains that he had pretty much stopped RPing on Honoghr a few months before that.
I know that he had talked to Kel'Al, when LAN was dissolved/absorbed into the Jedi order, about Honoghr becoming part of the Republic but nothing was ever set in stone, to my knowledge anyway. What you are failing to realize is:
1 - Honoghr was never recognized IC as part of the Republic during Ice's leadership - (and Gabe taking liberties and saying his NPC senator was a representative of Honoghr does not count).
2 - Nobody from the republic has ever approached Ice, IC, and simply asked if we still wished to be part of the Republic.
3 - Any 'political' deals that Adi may have previously made OOC, or IC for that matter, with the Republic either need to be reestablished with Ice or made null and void.
4 - I find the above quoted statement a little offensive. We NEVER said we wanted to be isolationists. We never said we wouldn't trade, help if possible or needed, or be friendly to the Republic.
So not being a part of the Almighty Republic makes us isolationists now? If this is how you treat potential members of the Republic then no wonder people don't want to be a apart of it. IF we wanted to be isolationist, I wouldn't even bother answering your little digs at us. Since I did, indeed, bother to answer you though, I think everyone can safely assume that we're not the isolationists you would make us out to be. Though, since the Honoghr Jedi are a rather "greyish order", we probably wouldn't be at Republics beck and call anyway. I laid this out as plainly and simply as I possibly could so take it however you will, but I'm pretty tired of all this damn bickering over one frickin' planet.

No one told us, or at least told me, why Adi was absent, so a lot of things were just put on hold for him to return and never resolved. If I had known sooner that he did not have Internet and would not be back right away, I would have contacted you directly, Ice. Sorry about that. But I haven't been active here myself in 3+ months so I'm not going to even try to answer for what's happened recently (or not happened).
Moving forward, I think the Republic needs to take the IC step of establishing a relationship with the current IC leadership of Honoghr. I would like to see them become a Republic world, because I view the Republic as a largely OOC alliance with many IC differences and even disagreements. But it's their decision and theirs alone, and we have nothing to gain by getting upset if they say no. I fully support whatever decision their leadership makes.

Considering the recent events, I doubt they would even consider being apart of the Republic. I'm sure this can be something we could pursue in the future, but right now dealing with the political ramifications of harbouring a war criminal and overhauling the current hierarchy should be our top priority - followed closely by getting Avaro, Vordaan, and Myself officially appointed to the senate.

I agree it's unlikely (and I need someone to provide the Cliff Notes on what I've missed), but we should at least make them an ally from an IC perspective. Right now, according to Ice (and I have no reason to doubt her), we have no relationship at all with them.

I believe I have a more recent list of Republic member worlds than the one Crom'nem posted. I will look for it later, and see if we we've missed anything. I should also have who the Senator was, as of a year or so ago.

I laid this out as plainly and simply as I possibly could so take it however you will, but I'm pretty tired of all this damn bickering over one frickin' planet.Im responding out of cold professional necessity. And I will wrap my response to Zion in here as well. I am far from thinking that us kids who don't know how to get along in there own backyard and share our own toys (or even agree on what toys we even own) are the almighty or the cool kids club. You guys are coming from an IC political view (of which, I was (Will) the jedi that ushered the jedi on Honoughr into the Order) and remember spcifically the planet being accepted into the Republic; to deny is a waste of time. Blame Adi for making moves, why not. And to say ' you never call' is not a good defense on we were never affiliated. But this kick that every wants to be independent is so chic right now, everything falls apart and people run for the hills. Leaving people like me to try and keep some semblance of anything that looks like Star Wars. Independent, in my literary opinion, is a cop out. I'm not trying to be mean, I am just not wasting time trying to find words. But it's your prerogative. All of this stupid bickering has worn me down trying to lead an organization that I never had any passion to lead to begin with. I stepped up and served a need for the community of writers. Have I done it well? Hell no, but I am still here trying to help people write together and streamline processes so that the "worldview" of our authors is shared (if Honoughr was a part of the Republic last week, but it isn't this week-- and someone still writes it that it is still there, it creates unnecessary conflict). So the planet is what I think the argument is about. I think the argument is about 'we don't want to play with you guys, you whine too much and you guys never asked to play with us any way.' If I had a personal gripe as an author, I say the JvS and it's authors have gotten waaaaaaaaaaay to particular with themselves, the characters, the factions they operate in etc. life is already too complicated. I'm not married to any of this. Mandalorians, for example, have clans with only one or two writers-- for whole clans! a handful of jedi factions, not affiliated with the Jedi Order; which forces the Jedi to either ignore their existence, or recognize rebelesque factions. etc. etc. I don't remember this last conversation we have had that anything to do with the next story arc we want to get involved in, who wants to be the lead authors, and what secondary story arcs we can tie them into-- that's what writing is. But I guess, until we establish who is still in and who is out, and how we relate to our allies, we can't have a worldview of which to write from. Those who are not in the know, without a shared worldview, you do not have the basic shared culture to even consider being affiliated. So on this point your right: how about everyone stop whining, stop thinking about yourselves, stop being hurt (and if you are hurt, take it up via PM---> then the Councilors (which i don't know why we have, really) ---> then the Whills). We all have Natural Rights that this structure was made to protect; use it. If you choose to respond to this statement and rebuke me because of it, I will not report you nor will I have anything to respond with. This is simply my opinion. What isn't my opinion is that we need to get back to yet another reconstruction of the Republic. Honoughr, if you have a story arc to suggest, by all means. I just don't need to read more pages about your independence on here. If you want it you got it; my only point is: I don't see how that helps us as writers. So, military council. looks like we need more volunteers. I will put up a post about asking for moitions to ratify Rodia and the Tion Cluster into the Republic. Anyone else need in officially? Past that, who else is willing to serve on the military Council? last time I checked, my NPC serves as a Grand Admiral, Darma chairs it as VC, we had one or 2 senators, sometimes a jedi (random usually, depending on the conflict). Once we got that figured out, I would also ask for another volunteer to help with the official economics of this faction and figure out what sort of defenses we can build. I know someone is going to come to say "we already have this and that" but lets assume our fleets are in shambles.

Peace be with you, Once again, that would include my NPC Aellemere, representing the Triumvirate Federation, which consists of Selonia, Drall, and Talus. As to the Military Council, considering The Th'tremsi have an entire Warrior Caste, it seems like a good place to settle into. go in peace,

Will.. Will... Will... Why must you always make me read large walls of text discussing a dozen or so things that have already been decided/are unimportant. There is no reason to start dissing Honoghr for what they do, or tossing in a razz about councilors being unimportant. You have no authority to "Grant" Honoghr their independence so there is no reason to tell them that they can have it.. they have it. Simply stating that "Okay I see your point let's move on" you felt the need to toss barbs at them for simply stating the position of themselves and explaining some miscommunication issues that have been said. Because I've been your friend for a while and you often say you prefer bluntness I'm going to be a bit blunt here, there is no offence intended but I do wanr you to understand how I see it.
First, if you have no passion for this group or leading it then DON'T. Either someone with that passion will take up the mantle and continue the republic or it will break away because no one has that passion. If that passion isn't there then there is no reason for the GR to exist in the first place. Sometimes you have to let something burn so something better can rise from the ashes.. and who knows maybe that's what needs to happen. So either Admit you have a passion and desire to lead and actually lead or let it run it's natural course.
Second, You don't have to be so hostile when you respond to everything, I know it's not your intention but that's how you come across most of the time, and you know that. As much as you say you're trying not to offend anyone or anything you do... it happens. Saying that doesn't stop people from being offended. Especially when it's something that's caused by a breakdown of communication and all they might be doing is trying to sort it out. Sometimes you jump the gun on talks and cause them to breakdown before they even start because you think you know exactly what is going on and you have to shove it down people's throats because you think you know what's best for them, and that's not always the case.
To sum it all up my friend: Either get to leading or step out, because what I've seen so far is just an attempt to put yourself on the moral high ground by degrading and disrespecting others.

First, I've just come off frustrating 12 hr shift, so sorry in advance for the ranting, just not sure I can keep a lid on the steam much longer. Second, they did nothing, because they didn't know about Ryloth until everything had already happened. The events at Ryloth took less than a full 24 hrs from start to finish. Thus the first the Council heard of it was after the pirates had already left the system.... and if you read the MC thread you'll see there was a pretty strong reaction IC. Either read your damn forum or at least just stop telling other writers what they Fing wrote. Third, Ice Adi and Tarkin, Adolph, worked out a deal during the Honoghr-JO merger and Tarkin officially brought the world to the republic with several other under his control. He then proceeded to vanish from the boards so nothing ever really came of it. Let's leave it at that. Also, should be visiting soon, if RL doesn't kill me first. Fourth, ... Can I just say that everyone should shut the F*** up? that's probably mostly stress, but also way to much rehashing is happening here. and Yes this post is yet another re-hash on things, I did say everyone which includes me. Most of us are picking up half of what's being said and, because of recent events, adding emotional charges and tones to the words we pick up and responding to the perception of what was said, which has not been accurate or true to the poster's intent, and this is true of all of us, myself included. >.< >.< >>.<< <>.<> -.- Fifth, why are you still reading this? Thanks for bearing with me and please try read coming posts in a positive light, knowing that we all want to work together to the betterment of both factions and the site, because this is the goal we are all working towards, albeit in our own unique ways. Have a good day, I'm off to pretend I had a good day.

You're not sorry, so please refrain from using such a word in the future. I don't care how long you've been at work or if it was frustrating, you don't start swearing at fellow writers because you don't understand the angle they're approaching this situation from. It's disrespectful and childish. So if you seek to pursue this matter further, please be sure to act like an adult by not letting your emotions cloud your judgement.
Now, while I would usually follow such a infantile tirade up with all of my points easily collected into a single post, I'll refrain from beating a dead horse - like you all are with Honoghr - and bring them up In Character after Avaro, Vordaan, and I have been made officially apart of the Senate.

Alrighty then. Here's an idea, Cihlbar: let's take Adi and Adulph (though not sure how he got into the conversation to start with since he's been gone from RP for ages), and Gabes NPC senator, while we're at it, out of the equation. Let's just discuss the fact that you assumed that the current leadership of Honoghr would want to be part of the Republic without even asking Zion and/or myself with a simple PM. I think since we're the two main RPers on the planet that that would've been the least you could've done, but maybe that's just me. I can understand why Kel'Al wouldn't know anything about the leadership changes over the last year or so since he's busy in RL and not always on the boards, and wasn't informed of the reasons why Adi wasn't around OOC. But you....you knew Adi was missing from the site for months now. Now, granted, I don't know if you knew the reasons why, but you still knew he'd been gone for a while now and yet you still never bothered to even attempt to contact me and simply ASK if we were still interested in being part of the Republic.
You sit there and gripe about wanting SL's and when I give you a damn good reason to have one (Hey let's send a rep to Honoghr and ask them where they stand) and all you can do is bitch about what Adi said/promised/whatever almost a year ago, more or less. You sit there and gripe about trying to lead a faction that you're not interested in anymore, but yet have the balls to try and call me out for not wanting to be part of that very same faction at the moment. You sit there telling me - "Adi promised! Adi said! Adi told me!". Guess what: I don't care what he promised, said, or did. He is not part of the leadership of Honoghr anymore. He left the planet and didn't seem to look back.
Also, with some changes of leadership (especially on JvS) you must first make sure that the new leaders actually want to be involved in World/Galactic politics. What if the new leaders were a bunch of Sith Lords and didn't want to be in the republic? Would you do the same thing to them that you're doing to me? You probably wouldn't because they're Sith Lords and you'd just let them leave without argument because they're evil and do bad things to the innocent people of the galaxy. Though, you probably won't get a lot of the more well known Sith Lords vying for senate seats, but that's not my point. My point is, you should have the courtesy to ask any new leader of any planet before you give them the third degree like you've done me. Just because a previous government/leader/faction was part of the Republic doesn't always necessarily mean that the new ones want to be. As for wanting to be "Independent" being a 'cop out' then I guess there's a shipload of planets that are copping out then, too, since they don't belong to the Republic either.
I do, however, think you are purposely missing the point of when I said that we would trade, help out if possible and/or needed, be friendly to the Republic. I never, NEVER once said that we wouldn't write with the Republic. Not once, in any of the posts I've made on this thread. I DID say that we probably wouldn't be at your beck and call. That's a lot different than saying we wouldn't RP with the Republic at all.
You want to know WHY we don't want to be part of the Republic at this point in time? You probably don't, but I'll tell you why anyway. I hear about politics everyday on the news and various other programs in RL and I DO NOT want to have to deal with them on an RP site too. I come here to relax, and have fun RPing with some friends. What I don't want is for someone to tell me that I'm being an elitist, or isolationist, because I don't want to join their faction. A faction that they, themselves, don't even want to run to begin with - and that, in itself, doesn't exactly bolster confidence in a Republic/Faction, IC or OOC....just saying.......

Maybe I should attack another Republic world to distract you from this current situation!
