When Obadiah had died and Eclipse Microsystems had gone under, Han had been relatively unconcerned about what became of it and its property. When he'd parted with Obadiah initially, Han had taken all of his research with him and wiped Eclipse of any data relating to his research they may have had. So the dive into the corporate records had not triggered any alerts. But the checks into Babe's previous work had triggered informational alerts which had routed through BB-Awesome before being compiled into a report on Han's datapad. They were little more than pings that someone, or something, had been accessing the data. The who was not information readily available to the kinds of watchers Han had set up. At the end of the day, he wasn't so much concerned about knowing who was looking into the files, just the fact that someone had been.
Doing the type of work he had with Babe over the last couple years, he never asked more questions than was absolutely necessary. Identities were only given as required, in the event that should the worst happen, neither party had more information than was needed so they couldn't turn against one another about something larger. It was a rule Han applied equally to his bounty work as he would a smuggling job. And it was one he intended to maintain going forward even if the WSC did retain them as permanent employees.
Han sat listening as Lina answered the question he had asked. Clandestine work was certainly up his alley, and was what he expected their interest in him and his crew to be. The Eagle was a well suited ship to such ventures, since starfighters were never given as keen an eye as larger more typical smuggling vessels were. Though eventually at some point such a ship would become quite useful to have as an upgrade. Assuming her employers were as dedicated as she indicated between the usual corporate espionage, than such work would pay well enough to make it possibility soon enough Absolutely, I appreciate your candour Ms Monev. Your employers have certainly chosen the right crew for the job...

Absolutely, I appreciate your candour Ms Monev. Your employers have certainly chosen the right crew for the job... Lina offered a cordial smile, and chose her next words carefully, speaking with a reserved tone."In an effort to remain transparent, I'll speak candidly, Han - the decision hasn't been made just yet. As impressive as your track record is, we have many factors to consider when deciding whether or not your team will be a good fit with our needs. Whereas my impression of you is rather positive, I'm really not the one you'll need to convince. I'll leave that to Mr. Marlon and the head of our division, Mr. Sandol. You'll be meeting with them shortly."The speeder made a banking turn as it descended, and Lina braced herself accordingly. It would seem as though they were pulling into the main access area for their offices. The car soon came to its complete stop, settling carefully in front of the building. A couple of employees that were waiting just inside walked out to meet them, opening the door for Lina and the company of individuals with her. She gestured with her hand toward the exit, and spoke with the same professional tone as before."And with that, we're here. Please, go ahead."The building was obviously a leased space, as it matched much of the Naboo architectural aesthetic that seemed to permeate the area. However, that didn't stop the WSC from placing its signage just above the entryway - a bold, backlit logo, all in copper tones, with white lighting. The individuals who met them were just forgettable faces, but each of them greeted the group as they exited the vehicle and welcomed them to the offices, all the same.

Were it not for the fact his face was covered, he would have offered Lina a smile even as she was clearly guarding her words Call it confidence, but I certainly understand your position on the matter... He turned his gaze out of the window, shifting himself up in his seat a little to peer out over the body of the vehicle. As they landed, he moved back and slid out of the speeder, his focus turning to Lina as he tipped his hat Thank you Ms Monev. Babe and BB-Awesome followed out of the vehicle soon after as Han lead the way into the building. It was, hopefully, about to be a very productive meeting and Han and crew could be on their way again, earning a solid paycheck

Wolfwood-Stryfe Conglomerate Office - Lobby AreaFrank Marlon stood in the lobby, wearing a well-pressed dark grey shirt and vest combination suit with a navy blue tie. His hair was styled in an almost wind-swept manner, combed back and wavy. He held his posture in a very welcome, opening stance, and his smile carried a genuine warmth to it. This was, of course, all within his programming. He had meticulously studied literally thousands of hours of both human and inter-species body language. Every mannerism, interaction, and movement that he made was designed to give off a welcoming, open vibrancy to his person. And even as the skies darkened around the front of the building, the first of the storms of the year's monsoon season threatening to claim the area and put a damper on today's proceedings, Frank still maintained his level of calm composure that he always carried, down to the way he would stretch out his hand as Han Der and his small entourage would enter the building."Han, my man! C'mon in, let's get y'all clear of all that mess outside!" His smooth, rural accent tended to shine through "Hope ya don't consider this weather to be any sort of bad omen - heck, I won't if you won't!"He let out a hearty chuckle at his own joke, just enough to break the ice, but went immediately into his next words even as he shook the Jawa's gloved hand."We're glad y'all could make it out here. The name's Frank. Frank Marlon, head of sales and distribution here at WSC." He then extended his hand toward Babe, keeping his speech up-tempo and energetic as he spoke "Ms. Fett, thank you for coming - I've heard excellent things -- Frank Marlon, by the way, and..." He extended a pointer finger down towards the little droid, rolling in behind them "Bee-Bee Awesome - I. love. that. name. Thank you, all of you, for making the trip. We are so excited to finally meet you all." He shot a look toward Lina as she entered the building with the two interns behind her, nodding her way, yet still addressing Han as he spoke "I trust that Ms. Monev has extended every courtesy of ours? Your accommodations? Do you have a place to kick your heels up while you're here in Theed? All of that?"His words were quick, almost rapid-fire. It was a glad-handing technique he had learned to use over the years. "Keep the energy high." It helped to both put people at ease, and also to keep them on the edge of their seats. At least, that was Frank's aim. Within the mindscape of Frank and his fellow HRDs, a sort of holo-conference was also taking place. Vash looked out of Frank's eyes, observing the meeting, and simultaneously viewed it through the eyes of Lina as well. There were several screens, each with their own perspective of what was going on. Even further into the offices, waiting in the conference room, was "Mr. Whyte" - or, as he would be known to the WSC, "Mr. Sandol". He was leaned against the head of the conference room's table, looking at the holoprojector images behind him flitting through the WSC's "Welcome Package" of slides and images projecting the professional image of the company. But within the collective mindscape, it was all of them - Lina, Frank, Mr. Whyte, Vash, and even Zarya. They were - each of them - a partitioned version of themselves that could converse on an in-depth level and project that thought process in real-time to their counterparts. It really helped to have the ability to converse at the speed of thought - especially when that thought process could be further enhanced by the lightning-quick synapses of several artificial intelligences."That's it, Frank. Pour on that rustic charm.""Doin' everything I can, Chief. Hey, maybe I should crack a joke or two, that oughtta--"" No!" Was the collective response from the group. It wasn't as if Frank's jokes were bad. They usually weren't. But once Frank got started telling said jokes, he tended to pour them on, like thick gravy; smothering everything.Vash raised his virtual hand to his face in a balled fist and cleared his throat."Ahem. I believe that won't be necessary, Mr. Marlon. Just carry out the meeting, like we've planned. You have everything you need?"Frank nodded "Sure thing, Chief, just leave it to me and ol' 'Sandol' here..." He motioned to "Mr. Whyte" "I think we can reel 'em in, nice an' smooth."Sandol turned to look at the group, speaking in a cautionary tone."As thrilled as I am at the prospect of securing Mr. Der's services and expanding our future operations, I have some concerns; I believe Zarya might have told you, Chief..."Vash nodded."Yeah, I get the gist of it, Mr. Sandol. Our 'deep dive' into Eclipse Microsystems has left us tugging at a lot of threads that I'm not sure we're ready to unravel just yet. But..." Vash swept his hand out in front of him, pulling up the several data-sweeping programs that he had started to both follow the "threads" he was talking about and then clean up his digital footprint in the aftermath "...I believe we're being careful. I'm only keeping our search to public records, tax reports, and news outlets for now. If anything comes up, we flag it, and Zarya will take more drastic measures to uncover the right information in the near future. For now, though, we have what we need to move forward. I expect great things from us all. Agreed?""Yes, Chief!" Was the collective response. It was then that the group seemed to return their attention toward the meeting with Han Der; only having had mere moments pass within the mindscape, even though it seemed as though they had just experienced minutes-long conversations. The speed of thought was truly a beautiful thing.

His first impression of Frank was barely coloured by the dampening weather conditions outside. He'd travelled around enough to know weather was more an unpredictable phenomenon than any Oracle of bad omens. He reached up his gloved hand and returned the shake If I treated weather as a bad omen, I'd never do business anywhere but Tatooine or Jakku. Can't rain on a desert planet... Babe kept her helmet firmly in place, offering a nod of her head in greeting, before giving his hand a quick shake but said nothing It's a pleasure to meet you Mr Marlon... She knew all too well what excellent things he had likely heard about her. Things which she hoped would keep the man and his employer from betraying them when the time came for payment. BB-Awesome opened up a plate in his round body and extended out a flaming torch to mimic a thumbs up back at Frank. Han could sense Lina's arrival into the reception but kept his focus on Frank, since he was the one that needed to be convinced to hire his crew Ms Monev has been very accommodating. I hear the Regency Hotel is quite lucrative, and we appreciate the booking you made for us there. Hopefully, though, it will be a short stay, with the best of intentions. The Galaxy does not stand still for anyone, not even Emperors and Kings. We must all keep pace or find ourselves swept to the wayside...

The Galaxy does not stand still for anyone, not even Emperors and Kings. We must all keep pace or find ourselves swept to the wayside... Frank's gaze fell upon Han once more, his finger pointing in the Jawa's direction and shaking a little as if to affirm what he was saying."'Not even Emperors and Kings' - I like that! And it's true, every last bit of it!" He pulls his hand back, cocking his elbow in a semi-theatrical, sweeping gesture "Counterpoint: 'It is only in our observation, in the stillness of such moments, that we can witness our galaxy move, dance, and play.' - Zun Kiri Tal'both, Codru-Ji Shaman." He flashed his best trademark, disarming smile before shifting his weight to his back foot and taking a few steps backward, motioning for them to follow "At any rate, I'd like to thank you for humoring my witticisms. We are going to be holding our meeting in our main conference room. That's where Mr. Sandol is also waiting. He's our Head of Operations, Cee-Oh-Oh, Big Cheese--you get the idea. Anyway, sayin' all that to say this: y'all feel free to make use of any of our amenities," He indicated a trio of doors in the adjacent hallway, marked as refreshers "I realize it has likely been a long, tiring flight. We will convene in roughly five to ten standard minutes - no rush, of course. Just want to make sure y'all are rested and ready. Do you have a preference on drinks or refreshments? We can have something ready for you lickety-split!"The conversation was still high-energy, warm and welcoming in both gesture and movement. Frank didn't spare any of his theatrical charm; he was a salesman, through and through. And Lina was far from being useless in this encounter; she was quite busy tapping and going through all of the information flowing into her datapad, disseminating the reports she was receiving from Vash and Zarya and forwarding the relevant information to Frank as it became available. Apparently, the several companies that were funneling the proceeds from Eclipse Microsystems into their own separate accounts were starting to show some signs of repurposing. The more Zarya was able to uncover, the more concerning this information was becoming. Once Lina was able to see the intel for herself, she shared an equal amount of concern for both their dealings with Han, and for Han's well-being. If any of this information ended up being validated, then Vash would likely be instructing Frank to carefully break the news to Han and his entourage in a way that would demonstrate their concerns for them.

Can't say I've ever heard of a rich shaman or philosopher... He chuckled a little, before turning his focus to the indicated doors Water for myself and Babe, Oil for Bee Bee Awesome, thanks. I think we're all good though... Han turned to a nearby reflective surface and adjusted his broadbrimmed hat, unaware of the danger that his potential new employers were uncovering he was in. To be fair, he wasn't all that worried about the danger he did know about, after all it was part of the reason he kept Babe around. Her reputation was enough to dissuade most threats. How bad could one more end up being?
