*Shawn offered up his menu as she took it and went to the back. By the time she returned, he was simply looking at the table, his hands folded up in front of him. His mind was lost to thought, as it always was. But sadly enough, there no thoughts, only the empty void of his mind. He didn't have the mind that gave him dreams like everyone else did. He didn't even understand the meaning of such. The only thing he ever thought was where to go next and what to do to improve himself in training. He looked up to her with a small smile as she gave him his drink.* "Thank you."
*He to a sip of the drink, not sure what to expect. It was much different than he had expected. It was sweet and smooth as it moved down his throat. He closed his eyes and gave a small smile. It was nice having something as dull tasting as water all the time. He took another sip before setting the drink down and losing him to the void of thoughts again. It wasn't much longer before his food came out. He looked at her, thanking her once again. He looked at it for a moment, hands going to the silverware, his look uncertain of using them. Out in the world, he used his hands. There was no one to impressive or disgust on how he ate, only the simple fact of survival.
Slowly he began to cut the steak, taking the pieces and chewing them thoughtfully. It felt odd to him using the ware, but the taste of the steak pushed the thought aside. It was much better than he was used to, seasoned and flavored. he the picked a few pieces of fruit, recognizing the color of some as what he picked sometimes. Looking up, he noticed Ashelynn take a seat at a table not far from him and looked out the window. He didn't know much about dreams and desires that everyone had, but he understood her look well enough. It was one that wanted to know what was out there, to explore and experience. Shawn couldn't help but smile lightly before returning to his meal. He finally finished off the steak and fruit and then looked at the dessert. It was this he knew nothing of. he poked it with a fork a bit, uncertain. Looking up, he saw the girl still at the table. She was close enough that he wouldn't have to yell and cause a stir.
Looking around for a moment, he returned his attention to her.* "Excuse me. What is this exactly?" *He pointed down to the dessert in front of him.*

Roused out of her dreaming by his voice, she looked at him blankly for a moment before smiling shyly. Looking down at the cream puff like dessert on the plate, she looked at it with fondness and smiled a little bit brighter. It's a mixture of fruit, chocolate, and cream... along with other ingredients that I have not had the privilege to learn yet. Ashelynn looked up at him again It's really good, honest Slowly her head turned back to the window as her eyes glazed over, thoughts of ships and other planets running through her mind

*Shawn looked from the dessert, to her, back again to the dessert. He took a small bite at first. He gave a light shrug with his head. He wasn't much for sweet things but it did taste pretty god, though it wasn't something he'd like to have often. Looking back up to Ashelynn again, he noticed her looking out the window again. He didn't say anything, merely went back to his dessert. He only ate half, his stomach full for one, and not really able to handle much more of the sweetness for another. He finished off his juice before standing. He grabbed his black, tight fitting leather jacket and slipped it on. Normally, it was always a little warm for it, but he had adapted and no longer cared. Reaching down, he slipped the sword's sash around him, letting it rest on his back. Finally, he picked up his pack.
He still needed to pay for his food, but felt a weird urge to approach the girl, to see what she was looking at. Quietly, he walked up behind her and looked out of the window. He couldn't fully see what she did, what it really meant, but he saw the city, and beyond it, the rest of Naboo. What lay above was the sky with ships coming and going. Her look made things clear enough though.* "It is a much bigger world out there." *He said finally.*

Ashelynn jumped hearing him speak right behind her and turned quickly around to face him with a startled expression. For a moment she just stared at him and thought about his words. "It's a much bigger world out there" kept running through her head. Her family had never even spoken about leaving Naboo, considering their work in Theed. Yet Ashelynn could only think about leaving. What would her family think if she were to just up and leave? She looked at Shawn, realizing she must look really stupid to him, staring into space and staring at him. Considering she herself knew that she had never just lost her thoughts and stared at a costumer before, she felt especially awkward that she had stared at him. Yet at the same time, she realized that she was now, in fact, staring at him again and pleaded with herself to blink. Th-there is? She tried to look away but couldn't resist looking into those deep blue eyes, her voice was soft as she spoke. I wish I could see it...

*Shawn looked at her with a nod. This time around, he had spent as much time looking out the window as she did, but his thoughts were much different. To him, out there lay a large world, something that was simply a playground, a place to grow strong. It was his home. There was much wonder and mystery making everyday an adventure, allowing for new lessons to be learned. he turned his attention to the window once again.* "I consider it my home, as I live out there. Moving around from place to place, always seeing new things. It has been where I've lived for the past two years. I've only come into a city a couple of times since then." *He returned to look at her, his face easy, devoid of any real expression on the surface. But if she looked closely enough, she could see a faint smile, one proud of his home, of his life and what he had seen and experienced.*

She listened to him speak as she took his appearance in for the first time, noticing his rogue appearance, he could only be telling the truth. Ashelynn smiled softly and sipped her caf slowly before setting the mug down on the table and looking back at him I envy you then... I've only ever been here. My family owns this cafe, our home is on the second and third levels above us. She turned her face to look out the window This life here is wonderful, but I have never seen the entire planet... She seemed regretful as she watched an entourage of teenage people walking by, wearing the newest, crazy trends of Naboo. Turning back to Shawn, she tilted her head slightly How long will you be in Theed?

"Envy me?" *Shawn looked at her for a moment, His smile faded as he thought on her words. He had to survive, learning to cope with nature and the terrain. It wasn't something he felt was worth envying. It then clicked in his mind that she merely meant explore the planet not so much as live in the wilderness. Looking back out the window, he responded with a calm voice.* "Yeah, it's nice out there, much easier than living on Dagobah." *He looked back to her.* "Don't take your home and family for granted. You never know if or when they'll be gone and you'll be on your own." *Though his words might have seemed scornful, his voice was soft, the faintest hint of sadness.
He thought then on her next question. How long would he be here? He never stayed in one place too long, a day max if that. Mostly it'd be for a few hours to clean his clothes properly and stock up on any supplies he'd need that he couldn't get in the wild. No one ever really bothered to interact with him before, much less actually ask him how long he'd stay.* "I'm not sure. A few hours, the day max."

Ashelynn looked up at him and tilted her head slightly I mean that I envy that you can just up and leave whenever you want... Standing, she picked up her dishes and turned to him, only two inches shorter than Shawn, she still had to look up slightly into his eyes. That's a shame... Where do you think you will go? Ashelynn smiled slightly, before turning and taking her dishes to the back, then returning with a rag, she wiped down the table he had been sitting at and replaced the menu

*Shawn nodded at her as she explained her meaning. It made much more sense. He had lived like this for the entirety of his life, so what he desired was the opposite of Ashelynn. He secretly hoped for something, someone to be around. He had Gavin, but a true family, a true life was something that had never been. In that world, perhaps he would have been like her, desiring to see more and get away.
He looked at her as she stood up, taking in her height. He was about to respond when she left. For a moment, he was unsure what to think, wondering if she cared to keep talking, or if she found him strange. She did have a job so perhaps she went on about her work. When she came back, she did begin to work, though she kept some attention on him, waiting for him to answer her question. He ran his hand through his black hair as he thought on the question.*
"I really don't know. Usually I just journey around until I come to the next city. I tend to live life one day at a time. I haven't had a need to plan the future."

Her hand, which had been moving to wipe down a table paused as he spoke and she stared down on the rag in her hand. Her future had been planned out for her, with her family already making plans for her to take over the cafe one day. Ashelynn's gaze turned sad when she thought on her duties that had been placed upon her and she sighed That must be wonderful... Not having to plan, just going where you want, when you want... Living one day at a time sounds like a dream She straightened up and smiled at him, brushing a loose lock of hair behind her ears and clearing her throat I mean. I would give almost anything to do that... If only for a little while This comment seemed more a whisper, as if she were talking to herself as she gazed into his eyes again. After a moment, Ashelynn seemed to shake herself out of this daydream she seemed to be in with this young man. Who was she to make such a claim with her parents just in the other room, planning away her future. She couldn't betray their trust, yet she couldn't resist looking back at this man who seemed to live the life she could only daydream about.

*Shawn listened as she spoke. He didn't have much thought on the plans that were made. In truth, he couldn't. How could anyone plan what they knew nothing about. Outside of the wilderness, he had no life. Everyday was simply about surviving and trying to become stronger. He didn't understand her life, why it seemed wonderful to her. She had a life, a family to help her. He didn't understand the reality of having life planned out for for someone, whether by choice or by force.
As she spoke her final words, saying that she give almost anything for just a small amount of time to try, he began to wonder what a small amount of time was. A day? A week? A month? She seemed young to him, someone with much of her life ahead of her. Surely she could find a small amount of time as she desired to she the world, even for a little bit.*
"Have you ever told your parents that you want to do that?"

She leaned against a table and crossed her arms, looking down at her feet. She could never tell her parents that her wish was to leave them, after all they had done for her. They wouldn't understand her need to feel free anyways... After all, ever since she could remember their lives revolved completely around this very building. They wouldn't be able to realize that their daughter wanted to travel the planet and maybe even off world to another system all together. The problem other then their understanding would be convincing them to let her go. They couldn't do that. She couldn't remember a time when at least one of them wasn't with her when it came to going into town. This might be Theed, but they feared for her safety at all times, like most parents do. Ashelynn shook her head and looked up at Shawn No I haven't... It wouldn't do any good She offered a defeated smile before sighing and examining her shoes again. It seemed odd, standing here with this man that had the exact opposite life from hers, yet she wanted to learn more, see more.

Shawn looked upon this girl, his eyes almost empty, uncertainty about so many things in the lives of ordinary people. There seemed to be a fear, or perhaps an understanding that couldn't be realized. He had grown to never fear anything, to do as his heart felt. But living alone, without any true sense of purpose gave him nothing to work for, nothing to follow. Gavin had wanted him to interact with others, to learn more than he could teach.
But that time had never come. And after two years, the only person he ever interacted with was standing here in front of him, desiring for a tiny taste of his life. As his mind thought upon it, he felt something, something that he couldn't explain. He wanted to show her what he did, what it was like to live in the world. But it was the family that kept her here, not out of force but safety. He wished he had felt that. Gavin was like a father, but teaching him to survive was how he brought about safety. Two entirely different approaches to the same thing. Taking a deep breath, he focused his mind on her again.*
"You never know until you try."

Ashelynn looked up at him and smiled softly, shaking her head slightly. You're right... He was right, she looked over to where her father was serving a costumer their meal before standing straight and looking over to Ashelynn, his eyes fell on Shawn and he got a fatherly look of distrust in his eyes. He kept his distance and Ashelynn cleared her throat and smiled a little broader. I guess I'll speak with them after we close the cafe then. She looked up at Shawn and something of hope sparked in her eyes. If you want to freshen up, we have a spare room with a refresher... you can rest there In all honesty, Ashelynn didn't want this man to leave so soon, he may have been a complete stranger, but she really felt as if he had awakened in her a feeling of adventure

*Shawn didn't notice her father nearby. His attention was on Ashelynn and the things she wanted to do. He noticed her smile broaden and figured it a good sign. When she mentioned him resting and freshening up, he raised a hand and shook his head.* "Thank you, but no. I couldn't do that."
*As he thought about it, the single thought of a good rest and shower began to appeal to him. It never hurt to have a nice relaxing rest without any kind of worry and a shower with hot water was always welcome. As each second passed, he fell more and more into the idea. He could always leave out tomorrow after he rested up. It would give him plenty of time to wander the streets and see what this place had to offer. * "On the other hand, would you know of a good place to stay nearby?" *He figured she might reiterate the guest room, but he didn't want to impose on them. This was their cafe, their home. He was sure there had to be a place here where travelers stayed.*

Ashelynn smiled slightly as he denied her offer, and when he asked about a different place to stay, she shook her head I insist. That room stays empty most days anyway... A pink tinge came to her cheeks as she realized how strong she was coming off to him and cleared her throat, looking down at her shoes to hide the blush I mean, that is... we rent it out sometimes, but for the most part it is just a spare room. She looked up at him shyly and offered up a smile If you want Her father motioned to her and she offered Shawn one more smile, turning to walk over to her dad, she looked back at him over her shoulder Just think about it. Okay? She disappeared around the corner to the kitchen to speak with her parents

*Shawn was about to speak when she left. He was holding her up from her duties, but what was becoming clear was that she wasn't allowing him to say no. It wasn't direct, but it was there. He had noticed the blush in her cheeks, but thought nothing of it. He turned back to where she disappeared thinking about heading out. Of course, he hadn't paid for his food, so doing so wasn't the best idea. Taking a seat, he waited for her to return, contemplating what to do.*

After a few minutes, Ashelynn stormed out of the kitchen and through the cafe. Dodging tables and patrons, she quickly made her way out of the cafe, her father yelling after her from the door of the kitchen. Once she was gone he apologized to the people in the room and disappeared into the kitchen once more. Ashelynn made her way down the street to a courtyard where a large, ornate fountain sat grandly in the middle. She stared at the water for the longest time, before letting out a sigh and wiping her eyes, where tears had gathered and were streaming down her cheeks

*Shawn watched as Ashelynn ran outside, her father yelling at her as she left. His only impression was that she told them what they had talked about and that it didn't go well. He couldn't help but feel responsible. He was the one who encouraged her to tell them, though she seemed to already know the answer. He had given her a sense of hope, when none seemed to truly exist. He watched her father head back into the kitchen. He wanted to go after her, but he also still had yet to pay for his meal. Giving a sigh, he took out some credits, a bit more than the meal was probably worth and headed out into the city. He had no clue where she went.
*Deciding the best choice was to go straight, he did so. Making his way down the street, he kept his eyes open. He finally found her in the courtyard. Slowly he approached until he stood behind her.* "Is everything ok?" *The obvious question was no, he knew, but he was unsure of what to ask.*

Ashelynn gasped and wiped at her eyes, turning her head away from him and looking down at the water in the fountain. Her mind swirling with the recent argument and all the emotions F-fine... However it seems in their eyes I am still only a young child... She looked up at him, but did not meet his gaze, her eyes red with shed and unshed tears They told me that I was just being foolish and wasting my time with daydreams... Her gaze fell to her lap and she seemed defeated as she brushed some stray hair from her face
