Kurayami had closed his eyes during his remembrance of times and people long gone. No, Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la. They were not gone they were merely marching far away. Whether that meant that they had passed on and back into the Force or if he had simply lost contact with them, that wasn't the most important part, the important part was that he was remembering them. There were so many things that were running through his mind that he didn't really notice when Raylia ran into him at first. His eyes opened as his left hand dropped to the grip of his RIpper.
He turned his gaze towards her and removed his helmet, his golden eyes locking on hers. Though a good few years had passed the years had been kind enough to him to not grage him with any major scarring on his face.
Not many knew me by that name I have to say...Ray is that you?

"Well how many other blue Twi'leks call you Yami? Wait, don't answer that."
She chuckled, licking the coffee off the back of her hand where it had spilled from bumping into him. She switched hands with the cup and wiped it on her long skirt. She smiled at the golden eyes looking back at her and she remembered just how unique they were.
"I haven't seen you in ten years. What are you doing on Naboo?"

Kurayami chuckled at her question. He certainly couldn't think of any others.
To be honest, pretty sure you are the only one who fits that description Ray.
He went silent a moment as he decided how best to answer the question as to why he was here. In hindsight, why was he here exactly. He couldn't say that he rightly knew.
I suppose I just wanted to see how the place I once called home had changed in my absence. And I have to say it has changed quite a bit more than I had even thought it would. Not that I am surprised, but Naboo always seemed as though it were frozen in time. Guess memory is funny like that sometimes. Has it really been ten years? just doesn't seem possible... so what brings you here, other than coffee?

"The university. I lecture on archaeology and history of the Jedi Order when I am free from Coruscant. It's not very often, but I jump at any opportunity to get away from the Temple for a while. I teach at their university too, but lately, my expertise has been needed elsewhere. This war has not been kind to the reliquaries and depositories of our artifacts and knowledge."She looked stricken for a moment, the toll of the recent conflict weighed heavily on her mind. She had been putting off a visit to Ossus to assess the damage to the archives and the Temple. She was used to threats from the Sith, but the Mandalorian battle leader had been far more ruthless than even the newly proclaimed Emperor had dared to be.
"I needed to get away from my duties a bit. The end of the war has been a trying time."

Kurayami listened to her intently, he should have guessed it was something to do with a university or a dig.
Ah, I should have guessed. You always were one who seemed to know about odd artifacts and legends that no one else did. Though I suppose that is part of your job description as an archaeologist no? Still teaching, and on Coruscant as well, quite an impressive position to hold at a university there. From what I heard they accept only the best and brightest due to the number of applicants for each position.
The look on her face was on he had seen before, not necessarily from her, but others who realized the toll wars took in every way. He had known about and kept abreast of the greater galactic situation for the past while, but since he tended to wander anyways, he never thought much of the fact that another Cold War was just on the horizon, if not started. He'd read the reports of the attack on Kuat by the Mandalorians, and had heard rumors of other places being hit as well. Though the others were some time ago from what he could recall.
I can understand the feeling, though for me currently I don't have any specific duty other than to find my next job. It is a bit easier being unaligned allows me to make runs for either side, and it isn't about ideology for me, I just need the money. I know it is a crass outlook on a situation like this, but I do only what I have to and try to avoid casualties, in my mind it's nothing but a job.

She nodded in agreement, the customary topics of conversation being quickly exhausted between the pair. The silence stretched out in a long awkward pause. All that was left was the obligatory questions about their love lives and she might as well get it over with. She was curious as to what or who he had been up to. He still looked good to her, the quintessential bad boy personified.
"So are you seeing anyone? Kids? Wife?"
She left the questions hanging in the air, trying to make it sound innocent but deep down it was any thing but. They had been lovers, she had wanted more and he had not been very enthused by the idea of putting down roots. Even though she traveled extensively, Raylia figured settling down to him wasn't so much about committing to a single place as it was committing to a single girl. Their love affair had been pretty hot but it was on the heels of her divorce. She was still a broken woman learning how to deal with the pieces. The timing between them just didn't work. She was wondering now, ten years later, if he ever did find one good woman.

Kurayami quirked an eyebrow when she asked about his love life. He nodded as she asked, he wasn't surprised but by the same token he hadn't been expecting the questions quite yet. He had to admit he was curious as to her involvement with others as well.
No, I can't say that I am seeing anyone. As for a wife, again a no there and kids, not something I have ever been interested in dealing with. How about yourself? Any interests?
He answered with a slight smile on his features as he looked at her. The years had been kind to her he had to admit, hell it was hard to tell that ten years had passed from the looks of her, she looked almost the same as when last they had met. The smile turned into a smirk as he remembered their times spent together, the nights that were...well passionate was as close as he could figure to describe them, though that was an understatement. He hadn't had much luck finding that special someone, or maybe he had at the wrong time. He didn't care if he never had a home planetside as long as he had the right woman by his side.

She shook her head and brushed it off with a chuckle. "No. I divorced a Jedi and married the Order. I've just thrown myself into work."
Thank Ashla. She couldn't explain why she hoped so hard that he wasn't married to some gorgeous model somewhere although she figured that since she brought it up, she might was well keep on digging into their emotional baggage. "I'm sorry about the way things ended between us. I had no right to put those demands on you. I guess I was used to a certain life and I was looking for another peg to fit in that hole. I think I kinda wised up on that one about 2 years too late."

He smiled when he heard her chuckle. Granted she brushed off the question without much of a thought. Though he supposed it made sense when paired with her answer.
Ah yes. I guess even though the Order has been more lax recently about marriage, those who are more traditionally minded never took kindly to it. So focus on the Order and less on your wants to hopefully have enough work to keep your mind off of the fact that even basic desires are not as bad as the Jedi always seemed to make them out to be, so long as you are in control.
He let her continue to dig into the the baggage from their past. He held no ill will towards her for the way things ended all those years ago.
Ray, I am not now, nor have Iever been mad or angry with you for the way that things ended. I know you were used to a certain way of life, and I had hoped I could adjust to it or you could adajust to mine. In the end though I couldn't ask you to try and adapt to being shot at almost daily, I wouldn't have wanted to put you in a dangerous situation if i could avoid it anyways. You deserved better than what I could have given you.

She motioned up the street as she started to walk, hoping that he would get the hint and walk along it with her. Her skirts were light and flowed around her like silks on a breeze. She still moved like a dancer after all these years, her innate grace winning out over her more pragmatic traits. "So please, what have you been up to lately? Still sticking your neck into dangerous situations?"

Kurayami fell into step beside Raylia as he let the helmet hang from his hand. He looked down and towards his left, looking at the scratched beskar, and knowing that it certainly hadn't gotten that way through diplomatic negotiation. Looking back towards her he smiled as he watched how gracefully she moved down the street. It was rude to stare, he knew that, but damn if she wasn't making it hard not to.
Mostly small time arms running for both sides. Or at least small time for me. It pays well and isn't too dangerous with a fast enough ship. Occasionally I'll take on a hit, or bounty. Those are quite a bit fewer and farther between. And of course I still do the merc or bodyguard work when I am really hurting for creds. If you consider those things dangerous, then yes I suppose you could say so.

*Jytar was glad to find that he hadn't been but half a day's walk to Theed from where he washed up. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to make it much farther. Entering the city, he wasted no time heading straight for the spaceport. In order to do anything here, he'd need his credits. When he left to face Ferazan in the warehouse, he had planned for his death, planned for the Sith and Jedi's arrival to stop him. With that in mind, he left everything aside from his sabers in his ship.
He made his way slowly through the streets, keeping his eyes on everything and everyone. He tried sticking to the shadows the best he could, though with his injuries and sore muscles, sneaking was not so easily accomplished. The strength he had was fading fast as he stumbled around, tripping over the smallest things. Very few people bothered to look, looks of confusion or disgust on their faces. It made them hate them. Why did he worry about averting a war? What did these people do that made them deserve to live happily and peacefully. Here he was injured and none were bothering to stop and help. Any hopes of turning to the light and possibly going to the Jedi was fading fast. What could prompt any into helping these pathetic beings?
He took the quickest path back to the spaceport. Time was of the essence and was running out quick. In his ship he had some bacta that could help heals his wounds and get him back to 100%. He figured he'd be down another day, but it was a little price to pay. As he got closer to the spaceport, his determination to get there, to keep living grew. With such growing determination, his steps became a little stronger as he pushed on.*

*Jytar made his way through the busy streets of Theed. His steps were calm and slow; there wasn't a reason to hurry around. He wanted to take in the sights, become like everyone else for just a little while. No Sith, no battles, no worries. One thing he made sure to watch was the people. For some reason, he felt so disconnected from them, like he was something else, somewhere else watching them carry on with their daily lives. None of them paid him any mind as if he was never there. Was this what it meant to be a part of the world? If so, what did it mean for him? He shook his head, forcing the thoughts from his mind as he walked.
The first stop he chose to make was for something to eat. He didn't want something quick and easy, but something nice and satisfying. Opting for a nice restaurant he made his way inside. He glanced around, noticing that all those inside were of the upper class, the ones with more money than they knew what to do with. All of them were dressed in nice clothes, making him seem like a commoner. Even the waiter that directed him to his table seemed to give him a look of disgust. But money talks, as they say. It doesn't matter what you wear as long as you can pay for it. And he had enough. He ordered a fine meal, the main course being a fairly large sized nerf steak. As he waited for the food, he let his senses reach out around him, especially his hearing. He caught bits and pieces of information, some that would provide usefulness to him. In time, his food arrived and he ate with content. As much as he wanted to shut out the world and just enjoy his food, he continued to listen to the scattered talk.
When his meal was finished, he paid his bill and continued on his stroll through the city. He was healing up well and had a good meal. The only thing left for him to do was a bit of a makeover. He needed to make his change. He came across a salon that seemed to do anything and everything. Nodding to himself, he entered. He was greeted by a young girl with the most cheery attitude. It was so bubbly it was almost annoying, though he refrained from expressing such thoughts. She lead him in and set in him a chair. All at once came the questions of what he wanted done. The most tell tale sign he was who he was was the large scar running down the left side of his face. That, however, couldn't be fixed so easily and not here. he thought on what he wanted to change his look to. His normally slicked back black hair was now in a messy shag on his head. It couldn't get longer without time or extensions, neither an option he was fond of, so he went with short and spiky, much like Ladoran did. As he thought about it, the Sith didn't really know what Ladoran looked like, only his family and the Jedi did. Seeing as he wasn't going to the Jedi, he decided to take on his brother's appearance. The hair was cut and then dyed from his natural black to a brown with a hint of blonde. when the work was done, he had to admit the look worked quite well, giving him a much more aggressive appearance than his slicked back hair. Next, he chose to change his eye color. As his brother had, he went a set of blue contacts. It also keep the sight of his eyes hidden when he accessed the dark-side, or so he believed. Once all was done, he paid for the work and left the shop.
looking to the sky, the sun was changing the coloring as it set. He hadn't realized he had slept so long. It didn't matter in the end. He did all he needed to and so it was time to leave Naboo. He had heard some interesting talk around and figured it was something he could look into. Turning from the shop, he made his way back to the spaceport until the brilliant orange of the sunset sky.*

*Like every day since she could walk, Ashelynn stood in the window of her parents' cafe in the middle of Theed, gazing up to the morning sky with a distant look in her eyes. A customer called her attention and she quickly moved to their table to fill in their order. With a graceful swiftness she made her way, order in hand to the back, where her mother was waiting to fill it in. Ashelynn worked in this cafe every day since she could remember, everything the same. Regulars would come in at the same time every day and order mostly the same things, and every day, Ashelynn was the one to fill their orders and converse with them. Although Ashelynn loved her family and their little family business, she was bored. Many times, travelers and merchants would come in for refreshments before trading or leaving the city. And while they ate or sipped their drinks, they would speak of their adventures off world, and Ashelynn so wanted to go and see these adventures for her own eyes. Today was a slow business day, and Ashelynn had a lot of free time to daydream of traveling, or at least not having to work for a day and getting to travel the planet of Naboo*

*As the morning sun made its way over the horizon, a silhouette made its way into the quiet city. Normally, it would always be packed and noisy, but for now, not many were out and about, busy with their everyday lives. Lives that continued on, never really giving much thought to the future, or the things that lay waiting around, desiring to be discovered.
As the sun made its way higher from the horizon, the silhouette lost its darkness to reveal a man, no more than twenty-one. One his pack was a small traveling pack and a katana sheathed and resting by the side. It had been a few some time since he had been in Theed, roughly a year or so. Stopping for a moment, he looked to the buildings, becoming illuminated by the golden light. Shawn couldn't help but feel in awe at the grandeur of it all. It was truly a sight to behold, something he had done every time he came to Theed.
His eyes traced the sky as if looking for something, but it was much more than that. His mind saw what happened to years ago. A black YT-1930 coming down out of the sky and landing in the spaceport and within an hour took off again. He remembered it so clearly, a man that had raised him since he was three, one he considered a father, and trained him had left him here. It wasn't to abandon him, but to return him home and have him seek out new knowledge and connect with others. Unfortunately, Gavin's wishes had not been fulfilled. he tried to interact with others, but he had been alone with only Gavin on Dagobah since he was three. Being nineteen at the time, civilization felt weird.
In time, he had left Theed and began to explore his home world. He traveled to many cities seeking what Gavin wanted him to to no avail. In the end, he lived his life in the terrain, never staying in one place long. Compared to Dagobah, Naboo was far more beautiful and peaceful. But his training had taught him survival and staying alive was easy, even being alone wasn't bad.
Shaking his head, he moved on. He normally kept out of the cities now, but he decided to gain a shower, get a hot meal that he didn't have to cook, clean his clothes better than the had been, and rest in a soft bed. Every now and again, he gave to such desires that rose up in him since coming here. running his hand through his hair, he stopped at a cafe. He could use a bit of breakfast, deciding now was as good a time as ever. Seeing it was opened already, he made his way inside.
The place was simple, yet beautiful, showing the art of Naboo. Hearing his stomach rumble slightly, he redirected his attention to an empty table. Before taking a seat, he set his pack on the ground, undid his sword and set it beside the pack and through his coat onto the chair. Taking a seat, he got comfortable as he waited for someone to take his order.*

The morning was dull as Ashelynn wiped down a table that was recently abandoned. She put the glasses in the kitchen before walking over to the newest customer looking back at her father who had just come in from the market with fresh produce. Signaling she would be right with him to help put the things away she turned to the young man, smiling and announcing herself Good morning, my name is Ashelynn, what can I get you? The menu sat already on the table, ready for him to look through it, and as she waited patiently for him to speak she looked him over. He seemed to be about her age, but he seemed to have it a bit harder than her by the looks of him.

*Shawn was looking through the menu as Ashelynn came up to him and asked for his order. He rubbed his chin, uncertain of what to order. Normally, he just ate whatever he killed out in the wild and had water to drink. He could never decide what to eat when coming into the city. Giving a sigh, he spoke while keeping his eyes on the menu.*"Yes, forgive me for asking, but what would you recommend? I'm not quite sure what to choose." *In truth, he had no clue really what was one the menu, used to fresh meat, but said it as if he was just unsure what he really wanted. The last thing he wanted to do was insult anyone and make anymore cautious than they were.
Finally, he looked up to her, waiting for her answer. His eyes were focused, the dark blue holding a light hint of purple. Feeling a bit of his hair slip down to his face, he ran his hand through his black hair to put it back in place.*

Ashelynn was looking back at her father as the young man asked his question, and she smiled as she turned back to him, well not him... more his menu as she pointed things out I would recommend anything with fruit in it since the owner is back from the market, unless you are a carnivore like myself, then I would suggest a nerf steak. The cook makes the best in Th-. She finally smiled and looked directly at the young man and was quite taken aback, immediately finding herself lost in those blue eyes. The room seemed to dim to nothing but those eyes as she knew she was frozen in place for a good twenty seconds. Only her father calling for her roused her from her stupor and she blinked a few time quickly and shook her head I-in Theed... B-but can I get you something to drink as well?

*Shawn listened as she made her recommendations. As she even suggested, his guess was for meat. It was what he typically ate anyway, so it wasn't anything different, aside from how it was cooked. When he did it, it was straight over a fire, no special seasoning, simply straight. No telling how it'd taste coming from a store or restaurant. He was looking at the menu as she pointed things out. He happened to look back to her a moment before she looked at him.
While she was taken aback, Shawn just stared back. He couldn't help but admit her emerald eyes were quite nice, but otherwise, there wasn't much else. He was starting to wonder to himself why she was just staring at him for so long. He didn't move though, only kept looking back as not to be rude. There was still much he didn't understand about being around others and living in society. For most of his life, it had just been him and Gavin. One would think that when he rejoined civilization, he would have taken notice in many things, including women. But as of yet, he had found himself unable to connect, to find himself lost in anyone.
When she finally looked away and finished what she was saying, he looked back to the menu, nodding shortly after. He didn't want to keep her from her job so he went with what he knew.* "I'll take a steak, um, some fruit and a glass of juice. The juice and fruit whatever is the most popular." *He closed his eyes, shaking his head internally. He still wasn't sure about much, and he was sure he sounded stupid. He knew it wasn't going to help get him connected with others so much as have them look at him awkwardly.*

Ashelynn nodded, a light tinge coming to her cheeks at the thought of her behavior, she averted his gaze and nodded, taking the menu from him and offering a small smile. She turned quickly, rushing to the kitchen and telling her mother the order and about the man who had made it. Her mother gave her a hard time and joked about the possiblity of embarassing Ashelynn Mother! I am twenty-one years old, please don't say such things! Taking a glass of juice, Ashelynn escaped her mother's giggles and went back to the young man, giving him his drink. Y-your food will be right out... Ashelynn went to help her father put away the produce before tending to the other costumers and empty tables. When her mother called for her, she went and took the steak and fruit, grimacing at the face that her mother had added dessert just to give Ashelynn a reason to talk to the boy more. She shook her head and went to the table and set the food down gently in front of him There you go, the cook thought you'd enjoy a little dessert as well, on the house She paused a moment to smile at him, but then went to get her own breakfast for a break and sat down at an empty table by the window, not far from the young man. Her breakfast consisted of a small bowl of fruit, which she ate slowly as she gazed dreamily at the clear sky
