Blue Shadow: Resurgence  Mission: Pandemic: Critical Response What i'm looking for with this particular RP is a thematic fast paced story in response to the Global Pandemic that is currently going on that has left many of us at home going insane with nothing productive to do. While I urge you all to keep up with and advance your own story lines if there are any of you that feel up to something new and something fun then i invite you to join up. Mission Requirements: Urgency
I'm not looking for this to last very long. While i am aware how things go with JvS these days. I'm looking for a few dedicated players willing to be writing every day, perhaps multiple posts a day to get this story done quickly, but done well, giving those that dont have the ability to be on as often at least the option of reading an Interesting Story. Mission Elements: Closed - Canon RP
It is my intention to have this RP be real time, on board, canon. This Pandemic is something that has changed our lives, and I want this story to also impact the universe moving forward. Simply put there are going to be two elements to the RP. An evil scientist type with the desire to resurrect a strain of the Blue Shadow Virus (now previously thought to be extinct twice) with the intention of using it as a weapon in the ever going... Star War. Yes i said it, moving on. Virus Test Site: Bothawui Dramatis Personae: Mad Scientist: Half Mad Assistant: Dark Overmind: Possible Henchman: Jedi Lord: Jedi Apprentice: Political Ambassador: Reluctant Traveler or Smuggler: Soldier of Fortune: Titles are not really important - if we've got a few FO players, Jedi or Coalition Players, or Scum and Villainy sort characters, or Even rival Sith or DJ that all want to team up and stop the threat together I'm game, it doesn't much matter to me. I'm not calling for the death of anyone's Main, but if someone wants to roll a fresh character for the SL with the purpose of death for the sake of the story then more power to you. I'm also not requiring the mission to end any one way. Think of it like a Choose your own adventure type game - the choices made by those writing will decide whether or not the plot to release the Virus is stopped, or the Plot succeeds and the planet of Bothawui is decimated by it. For those of you who may not be aware of the story I am referencing: the Blue Shadow Virus (AKA Candorian Plague) was a deadly mutated virus that was responsible for the near extinction of all living life on the planet Candoria - then was resurrected by Dr. Nuvo Vindi during the Clone Wars and was almost unleashed on the Planet of Naboo - and used again by the Galactic Empire against the planet of Dentaal to quell a rebellion there, later blamed on the rebellion. Because of the nature of the virus it does not leave many survivors and so specific or detailed knowledge of the Virus is rare, though most know the name and know what it is capable of, few people may be aware of how it works, how it spreads, or how it is cured. While originally a waterborne virus, it was adapted into a gaseous state to allow the virus to be transmitted through the air instead. I leave the delivery method to the mind of the writers making choices for that side of the story however i might require some sort of restraint or balance depending on how the story progresses. If you're looking for Jedi involvement (similar to the Clone Wars episode of this thing, I suppose), I'm interested in tossing in my Jedi Master, and possibly the knight I NPC under her, for this SL. I'm not married to the planet... I've just been trying to get a story going on Bothawui since I came back. But if this goes a certain way... and the "mad scientist" gets away there is nothing stopping him from duplicating his experiment on a different world.

Thing is, the Quarren Dominion or at least the head society among the Sorcerers keeping it in check have IC quite an interest to do things by the Way of the Dark - going a similiar route as the Sithlord Lord Cronal, although with a few differences.
Creating and helping to spread a deadly virus is definitly welcomed by them, as they would certainly try to develop ways how to make it more effective, enhancing it even more if they find possibilities to do so, while finding ways to spread it via further creations of Sithspawn.
Granted, it might not be super-good if it affects their own population for the moment, but if it allows the Prophet to shift the Triarchy into a direction where they can make the population more dependent on the gouvernment, leading it into desperate beliefs like "The Jedi spread the virus", "Cloning is the only solution to preserve our population now that the outsiders dared once more to defile Dac", it's more than benefitial as well.
That's sorta why there would definitly be interest from sides of the Quarren Dominion in this affair.

Sounds pretty intense. I wouldn't be against you putting one of your followers on the planet for part of or all of the RP so they could 'report back' to the dominion after the events play out. If whoever ends up writing the scientist gets away they will probably be looking for more funds and a new place to start their experiments - however if the scientist dies as a result of the RP you could take the knowledge that the Virus is 'alive' again and start something up on Mon Cal after the fact. It would definitely play with the 'spreading across the galaxy' line of the story. If the plague gets offworld it quickly becomes a Universe wide problem.

Kelam would most certainly seek use out of the virus. His whole thing is the eradication of life. That's why he works with the Quarren Dominion, especially if the Dominion could figure out a way to enhance its effectiveness to eliminate more people quickly.

If the The Elusive Man feels the Organization would want the virus stopped and/or gathered up for study, Kia could get involved as her first/one of her directly ordered tasks by the Illusionists as working to save and protect anyone caught up in this would easily fall into her desires as getting the virus/gathering whatever data exists on it/destroy it may fall into the Organization's interests. |

Ok so far we have 2-4 possible Jedi defenders and 1-2 possible Cthulhu observers that could also provide some services and assistance to the main baddy, we still need someone brave enough to take on the roll of Mad Scientist!

Having the Organization involved makes sense. Especially since you guys are kinda supposed to have your fingers on the pulse of the universe. Also if this Virus could be reverse engineered to attack only living beings with a high midichlorian count then it could be an effective weapon against force users. but you didn’t hear it from me... |

This is definitely something that would be up The Organization's alley of interests. Miss D'Naga, if you want to head this up on our behalf, by all means, please do so. And while I know Kia usually prefers to work solo, someone of the scientific background, or even a small three person team, could accompany her to collect information and data. As a suggestion. However, as the team leader of the operation, that would be entirely up to Kia herself.

I'd love for all of you to be involved but i cant stress enough this is going to be a fast paced RP. We're going to be posting quite often and the story will proceed even if someone falls out and cant post for a couple days. I'm looking to get this on the boards quickly - and if its successful running different 'episodes' of it on other planets as the Virus 'spreads'. But since Bothawui is going to be ground Zero for the Virus i want it up fast so people have something to look at to gauge interest!
