*A remote planet, the world was made up of three massive pieces that were formerly wound into one large mass. Orbiting a common center of mass, two of the fragments were close enough to share a deadly atmosphere rendering it completely inhospitable; when they occasionally scraped together, a static discharge was generated, creating a sensor-masking electrical current that roiled across the surface. The other fragment, father away from the other pieces, had maintained a life-supporting atmosphere and was considered to hold the third orbital position in the system. Orbiting a white dwarf, the world's sky was violet throughout the entire day and night, casting a mysterious glow across the landscape.*

*What would appear to be a random, yet severe, meteor shower is seen streaking across the deserted Anoth sky. In truth these meteors were actually Lt. J'Abriil and his platoon being dropped to the surface in single ruuvi entry pods. Being dropped with them was an already assembled Outpost capable of sustaining Lt. J'abriil and his men for up to 2 years. Being uninhabitied be seinient life Anoth would become an Imperium LPOP (Listening post observation post). Not to be seriously defended but maintained at all times. Once in place the Imperium would have eyes and ears watching and listening throught this whole desterted system.*

*Lt. J'Abriil And His Platoon Sets Up Their Sensor System Well Aware At This Point They Might Be The Last Of The Free Imperium. there Had Been No Contact With Alzoc 3 In The Last Hour. The Last Com Had Gotten Out One Last Message.VONG. J'Abriil Had Yet To Inform His Men. They Would Have A Long Time To Discuss All of Their options*

10 Prowler 1000 droids streaked from orbit around the side of the planet. Like comets they caught light and some fire to their reinforced hulls as they headed towards the ground. As they lowered and slowed they began to hover and scanning the terrain. Each one communicating with the other and relaying the information back to Phantom's ship. They began to split up heading away from the core area and clearing it as they spread out covering swaths of land and other terrain in their way. Each one outfitted with a light blaster if needed as well as the arms to move things out of the way to send detailed reports.
This initial clear took a few hours until a main point was secured and then began to move further out, the central area cleared for recon dropships to drop in. The message was recieved by the command droid and coordinates were marked and sent for the drop side.

From orbit drop 4 transports which hover at the designated drop site and then spread out leaving about a 300 meter swath of empty space with the ships at the borders. From each transport exited 10 rocket battle droids with two pilot droids each. The droid contingent began to unload cases and chests setting up a mobile command center. Mobile EWHB-12's were set up between ships and set to auto target anything that was not marked and designated as friendly.
The pilots had the ships off, turrets still active if need be and began setting up stations for comms and relays. The rations were all kept inside the ships and the scouting armament was getting unpacked, extra rifles and jetpack fuel, sidearms grenades both tactical and lethal as well as vibroblades. The programming for these droids were changed and used a tactical program networked into the home ship, command station and recon drones all to work together to increase reaction and action times making them much more lethal. Almost literally giving the droids eyes in the backs of their heads.
The 40 rocket battle droids lined up, 10 each in the front of each ship at command rest, the pilots freely moving about inside the perimeter doing final set up, they drug netting over the ships to help make them harder to spot, the center of the ring was open for the last ship to land.
The all go was relayed to the final ship as the area was secure and ready to receive both sith lords.

*The final ship in the contingent landed inside the defended perimeter, the back ramp opening its maw allowing the 4 Magnaguards to exit first. On their heel was Phantom, surveying the area and walked over to the command terminal. The seeker drones had mapped out a good swath of the planet so far using sonic and optic sensors to see above and below as best as they could. The data was being mapped and added together in real time allowing the best access and sight of the planet.
He turned and looked back at the transport*
We haven't crashed yet, though I reccomend using one of the regulators. The atmosphere here is fairly toxic and would normally kill pure organic forms such as yourself
*Smirking to himself, his half biotic side had already clicked over to the respirator on the right half of his body channeling and filtering the air. And here his brother thought it was useless*

"Haven't crashed yet is one matter. Not dying is quite another, indeed!"
**Ferinus chuckled and shook his head at the "pure organic form" comment. He would keep himself that way as long as he possibly could with the time he had left. But then again...his body had lost much of its humanity over the years.
He turned back toward the trunk in the ship. He knew he had something better than a regulator. He slipped off his glasses and went over, typing in the code and opening the air tight seal, pulling the lid open to reveal his equipment.
There it was. A relic from the past. From his own transformations over the years. He had torn this face apart years ago back on Kashyyyk.....but kept this small piece for occasions such as there.
And other ones too. But there was no need for that at the moment.
He gazed down at the hard, smooth black mask. This, imbued with the Dark Side, would protect him from whatever atmosphere that rock provided. But he hadn't worn it in years. It would be....interesting....to say the least.
He slipped it on over his face and shuddered only once as black tendrils crept their way across the back of his head, swallowing it whole. He felt the violent anger inside it but knew it as a familiar anger, one that he crafted years ago.
When the assimilation was complete, he stood back up. Two glowing red eyes shown through the mask, not only imbuing him with even more of the Dark Side, but accentuating his own abilities. He would need them if they were to find what they were looking for on this planet.
Ferinus stepped down the ramp to rejoin his brother, his hands and arms shrouded in his long black sleeves, glowing red eyes fixed on him.***
<< I will seek a more....organic route under these circumstances, Phantom. >>
***His black head turned left and right, red eyes scanning....scanning.***
<< Have your machines mapped out a swath for us to examine? Or shall we wander off into the nearest gorge? >>

Turning he looked at his brother and did a double take. He had not seen that mask, that visage of his brother in quite some time. It was different, and even he could feel the force ebb and flow from his brother. For most this look of Ferinus would be intimidating, even to other sith, yet this was the way they knew each other, through physical features but also through the force itself.
Mask or not, this was who they were, always sent out to planets as a pair, either to raze it to the ground or scout or whatever they felt like. This was normalcy again and in the turbulent universe, something normal was calming.
You aren't going to let that go are you?
With a chuckle he turned to the holobanks which were being updated by the scout droids and peered around at what was available
We can either forge our own way, or there seems to be a literal gorge but the scanners cannot seem to penetrate past the thin surface for some reason. It could be whatever minerals may be natural to this planet, it could be literal fossilized shit, or a pre broken planet settlement. It is a little ways from here either way however...
From two of the transport ships 6, 74-Z speeder bikes were unloaded and the Magnaguards sat two to one leaving a pair of commando droids on the next to leaving two bikes free, one for Phantom and one for Ferinus
Which location would you like to explore then brother?
He swung his leg over the bike, flicking the activator and the repulsor engines roared to life as he was hovering, the blue diamond on the back of his cloak seemed to be just as sassy as he was
If you can even still see out of that thing that is

<<No, I won't. They're putrid rust buckets and I would sooner see them on top of a scrap heap.>>
**Still, Ferinus chuckled behind his Sith Torture Mask, which colored his chuckle with a mechanical, sonorous tone. He wasted no time jumping into his own speeder bike and firing it up. He snapped his head toward Phantom.**
<<Just like old times. Let us examine this gorge. Lead the way. Only....this time....don't crash your bike. I'm not pulling your arse out of another nest of knights.>>

One of these days I am going to terraform a planet into a machine base and invite you to visit, just to make you uneasy
With a laugh he gunned the engine taking off, the commandos and Magnaguards fanning out around the two of them. His right eye coming alight mapping out terrain heading to the gorge and avoiding environmental hazards.
That crash was once! Albeit it was fun but dammit, I had thought you had forgotten.
They crisscrossed the surface, scanned areas allowing them fast and immediate response so that he would not crash...again. Back at the drop zone more of the planet was scanned and uploaded allowing them to know more about what they may come across.
About 20 minutes of speeding along and the ground began to dip lower and as he looked ahead it was clear why there was no scanning. Dense rock was essentially blown out, jagged edges around a deep gorge and he halted his bike coming to a stop and dismounting. Walking to the edge he peered over and looked around
I don't know how we would get down there with the speeders, it seems that from here we may need to take this by foot

<<Yes, it was only one. One crash on a speeder bike, anyways. Shall I regale you with all of the other vehicles you've crashed? Dear me, I believe they all just come together in a blur.>>
<<And I'll never visit that abomination of a place. Never. Not even the ghost of Vitiosus would drive me there.>>
***Ferinus laughed a sonorous laugh behind his mask as he sped up to keep close with Phantom. The planet's surface whizzed by all around the both of them, though Ferinus felt not even the faintest hint of wind on his face. His glowing red eyes thinned to slits in the fast motion. Every now and then, his wrist comm would beep and blink with each new piece of information Phantom scanned and uploaded to him. He had to admit, there was an advantage his brother had. He could see all of this data immediately whereas Ferinus would have to review this once they stopped.
As the ground began to descend deeper and deeper in front of them, Ferinus became curious as to what he and Phantom were getting themselves into. They'd stared down worse....but caution was needed here. The last thing he needed was another Kamino with it being just the two of them.
Not that anything had proven it could stand against just the two of them before...
When Phantom pulled to a stop, Ferinus did as well, immediately dismounting his bike. The glowing red eyes of his mask were back to their normal circular size as he turned about, looking left and right. This didn't look so much like a natural gorge....at least not at its mouth. Perhaps....time had seen to fill it years and year ago....and someone tried to get back in. Whoever and whatever what was....that could point to something very valuable down there.
Ferinus pressed a finger to his comm, calling a light blue hologram readout of everything Phantom had gathered. He spinned and pressed at the display multiple times....but nothing of it showed anything about the gorge.***
<<So much for your advanced technology, Metal Mug.>>
***His glowing eyes reduced to slits again as he stared down into the darkness of the gorge. He saw a red, swirling expanse all around him....but nothing that was piercing through the darkness of this gorge.
Could it be that....something was blocking both machine and Force down there?
That just made things even more interesting.
Ferinus toggled a switch on his wrist comm, causing it illuminate like a beacon as he began heading toward the open lip of the gorge.***
<<I'll be able to see just fine. What about you, dear brother? Does that Swiss Army Body come with a flashlight?>>

Cocking his eyebrow with a smirk he turned, however it was dense not just by the odd red fog that seemed to stay in the gorge but the lack of his ability to see past it using the force itself
Normally I'd blast anything in my way, however considering this planet has been blown all to hell already, I am not sure if this fog is natural and toxic, or explosive or somehow is imbued with the natural force. You know what that means
He blinked, his right eye tinting a dark green taking in massive amounts of infrared light and filtering it to give him a clearer picture. The two droids and magnaguards stood with the brothers and Phantom turned to them giving them the order to secure this pathway in. He and Ferinus would continue the journey below themselves.
He turned to his brother and smiled wickedly, his teeth filed to dagger-like points
It has a few bells and whistles. New surprises that you may enjoy...more effective than...boots
With that quip he stood at the edge and then looked back at his brother
What do you say? Jump in and hope for the best?

***Ferinus nodded to his brother, crouching at the lip of the gorge.***
<<The Force must be at work within this gorge. What else would be able to mask our sight, both technological and supernatural? I sense something....old. Don't you?>>
***The Sith Lord stood up and shook his head at the hole.***
<<I do know what that means. You and I have experienced this before. Ver'metus and I have plundered many a dark, hidden place like this before. It means nothing good. Nothing benign.>>
***He chucles darkly.***
<<Which means it's perfect.>>
***Ferinus spun so his back faced the void.***
<< Age before beauty, Princess. >>
***With that, Lord Ferinus crossed his arms over his chest and fell straight back into the darkness.
Spinning slowly in the air, he let the rushing air cascade all around him as he shot forward with the Force, sensing for any incoming surface.
But when she stretched out....all he could see was the seemingly infinite blackness inside the gorge. It seemed to go on for miles and miles an-***
"RRARRGGH!!"
***The muffled cry echoed within the walls of the gorge as he shot a hand out and gripped the edge of a small hanging cliff. He'd smashed his chest into it as he'd descended.
That was going to leave a bruise.
Dangling, he growled again, swinging his other hand up to grip the same cliff edge. He slowly hoisted himself up onto the head of the cliff and slumped onto his back, letting his boots dangle off the edge.***
<< ......Ow. >>
***Reaching up, he pressed several switches on his shining wrist comm and held it up. Four small whirring, flying metal discs fired out of the sides and began spinning in the air, shining tiny beams of light as they descended down the gorge. They cast four rays, giving the impression of four spinning columns of light as they traveled down the gorge slowly. Ferinus sat up and saw other small cliffs jutting out of the walls further down. Still.....the discs kept on going....and going.***
<< Ah....I think this gorge is even deeper than we thought. >>
**He rubbed his burning chest just below his throat. For the love of Bane, his sternum will make him pay for that later.***

***Ferinus' body went absolutely rigid. He stopped doing any further observance of the gorge and crouched, stock-still. His face was hidden by the Sith Torture Mask, but the two glowing eyes on its facade narrowed to slits.
That voice....
He knew it.
He'd known it since his eyes were opened all of those years ago. He'd known it even before then.
It couldn't be.
Lord Ferinus stood slowly on the cliff, unable to know if Phantom could hear him from down here.***
<< You.... >>
***Ferinus began looking from left to right but there was no one else down here this far into the gorge. Nothing but blackness surrounding him. Not even his sensors were bleeping back with any news.***
<< You're....like her. You're not here. This is a mockery on my mind. Will your torments never cease?! >>
***Ferinus' black-gloved finger slowly uncurled, spreading the Force all around him, ensnaring anything around him in the grasp of his mind and power. He saw her too in his room back on the ship. He'd heard her. He'd seen her. Just like he was hearing his voice now too. But whether his suspicions were true or not....he would test them and see.***
<< So then....what you're telling me is I've been living off lies all of these years, then. That those stains on the ground of Feral's chambers were not yours at all, that the presence and death that I witnessed when I touched them was.....wrong? >>
***His hands hovered inches over the hilts of the twin sabers on his belt.***
<< Very well, old man. If I am so wrong, then show me..... >>
***He unclipped his sabers, grasping them tightly in each hands, the glowing red eyes of his mask staring defiantly above him.***
<< SHOW ME WHAT YOU PLAN TO DO WITH YOUR INSULT!!!! >>
