The girls took a knee after looking at one another. It was, in some aspects, a strange ritual, yet a sense of familiarity in it. They underwent this small ceremony in silence, offering only a nod to Zion as he dismissed them.
It didn't take long for them to return to their chambers and settle in for the night. The coning days would be busy, so taking advantage of rest was the wisest choice.

Matthew exhales a sigh of relief as Ashara’s grasp on him breaks free. The boy slumps against the wall as her figure rushes into his room to take hold of her young padawan. With his hands on his knees to keep himself propped, he takes another beat to exhale, his gaze lifting to the ceiling as if to ask the Almighty Ones why they dared to make fun of him in such a cruel fashion. With another sigh, though, Matthew pushes himself back up and, as calmly and cooly as he can manage, takes charge in joining the party so-to-speak happening in his bedroom -- a point he notes to use against that Zion Morviael one of these days.Hey there, Kalene, Matthew nearly responds, seemingly exhausted and out of breath.Placing a nervous hand on the back of his neck, he forces a welcoming smile and banishes all of his earlier panic from his face, to no avail. His smile was replaced with a quizzical look soon enough, though, as Kalene's explanation leads to him to find all of his stuff scattered about. Ashara’s outburst already took its toll on the poor boy. Panic was now easy enough to race through. It would show well enough on his face as he rushes through the doorway and waves a hand over his scattered belongings. Using the Force in a display that appears as easy and natural to him as breathing, the boy brings each piece to float simultaneously into the air to find their places among the far corner, before they would settle back into the place in the time it took to exhale. No worries…! he laughs, the last thing to find him being the datapad, which instead found a home within his left hand. Easy enough taken care of. Zeo whirls sadly before turning and rolling back to the other corner, away from the rest of the group. Before anything could be said about the droid, though, Matthew breaks back in with a nervous persistence. So… as you can see, Miss Varik here is safe and sound, so… if you ladies don’t mind… Could we, um, move this happy little reunion to the other side of my chamber’s door...? I don’t mean to be rude, he corrects hastily, I just… still… wanted to explore the Temple tonight. That is, the flash of his brilliant blue eyes turns to Ashara, if I’m still… welcome to do so after this… minor fiasco… Matthew laughs as nervous as ever as he braces himself for whatever weighty silence may come at the hand of his judge, jury, and executioner. He might be young, but he wasn’t stupid enough to believe that he was out of the woods just yet. Out of all the nonsensical occurrences he had been through in his short lifetime, this one definitely would be a story he would carry for the rest of his lifetime. Collecting herself for a moment, Ashara stood and was rather conspicuously between Matthew and Kalene. With her back to her padawan, Ashara's eyes narrowed and locked with the young mans. Her voice was light and almost pleasant, so as not to further worry or distress Kalene. But in her golden eyes there burned a fire. A warning to give the true meaning to her words.=Ashara=Of course, Mr Di'Nova. As long as we do not have a repeat of today's incident, then I see no reason either of us should dwell upon it any longer. Just remember what I said, and you needn't worry about me speaking with Master Zion. Clear? Turning then to Kalene, I would recommend you get some rest, my apprintice. Though if you think you can be fully recovered in time for tomorrows lessons and play tour guide for our new friend here, then I hope you enjoy yourself. Looking back at Matthew, Though not too much

Kalene watched as the two spoke, completely lost and curious as to what had just transpired outside the door. Her nervousness had departed a bit as her face became innocent and full of curiosity as it tilted to the side. She still looked between the two of them as her final words were spoken, her mind not even registering the meaning behind the idea too much.
"I promise, master, I'm just fine. If Matthew would like to tour the temple, I can handle it." She wasn't sure what it was, but her nervousness around him had faded a bit. Perhaps it was the way he was responding, being at a near loss for words.

Matthew could see the wall that Ashara put between him and Kalene, which is what made her contradictory words all the more heart-pounding. At that, Kalene seemed to fall in line and agree, now even offering to show him around. If only things could have gone this smoothly the first time. Now, he had gathered the attention of a light-demon and her all-too-innocent apprentice… and not the kind he had exactly wanted.
As long as Miss Varik is still up for it. With a seemingly nervous smile and chuckle to match, Matthew steps forward towards the door as he 'reassures' Ashara with, I’ll be sure to get her back to her room by a reasonable hour, no matter how non-assuring any of his words really were at this exact moment in time.
Matthew carefully tried to step around Ashara, paying mind to not poke the rancor any further than he already had. His goal wasn’t her apprentice, though, but rather to stand at the exit from his room and gesture an arm to allow the two passage back into the corridor.
Ladies first, he offered, his gaze drifting from Ashara to find and remain fixed upon Kalene.

Kalene began making her way out of Matthew's chambers when he decided he'd be up for the tour if she was. When allowing her access to leave first, she believed it to be the attitude of a gentleman, not once realuzing the truth behind the ushering of their exit.
Outside she gave a bow to Ashara. "Thank you for coming to check on me. I will make sure to not stay out late so that I am ready for my morning lessons." She then looked back to Matthew. "I'm ready when you are. Any place in particular you'd like to start?"

Ashara's eyes still narrowed as she walked past Matthew. And even when her golden eyes were no longer upon him, he could feel that she was watching, in other ways. But when she was half way down the hall, back toward the garden, she turned and smiled happily at Kalene.
=Ashara= I trust your judgement, Padawan. Enjoy your time!
She then turned back and headed down the hallway, her tail swishing back and forth behind her.

As soon as both women had cleared the threshold from his bedroom, Matthew slips through behind them and shuts the door as quickly as he could manage without seeming overeager to get them both out. With the sound of the ‘whoosh’ securing his concerns, the boy lets out the last nervous sigh. Ashara had already granted her ‘blessing’ to letting her padawan roam about the Temple with him, but after all that had transpired, Matthew had other plans.
How about I just walk you back to your room? Matthew asks with his signature charming smile. I should probably call it a night, too.
He could still feel Ashara’s gaze upon him, even after her chipper farewell to her padawan before she sauntered away. That lingering gaze wasn’t about to go away any time soon, either. He didn’t plan on playing his luck anymore tonight if he could help it. Still, his curiosity about this girl remained fixed in his brain, and he wasn’t about to completely let an opportunity slip out of his grasp.
If you’re still up for it tomorrow after your lessons, though, maybe you can show me some of your favorite places around here. Maybe you can give a guy some pointers, too. I'm supposed to be squired or something tomorrow and start my own lessons.
He laughs, allowing an edge of his prior nervousness to shine through. It was a bit more believable that way, even though he really wasn't all that worried necessarily about the squiring and meeting new people part. With a tilt of his head, though, and a gentle gesture of his hand further down the corridor, he encourages Kalene to lead the way back to her room.

Kalene gave a small wave to her master as she departed before she turned back to Matthew, a shy smile on her face. Part of her was eager to show him about. However, her smile faded when he suggested just walking with her back to her room. "Oh..oh, okay. I, mean, I understand. I guess...well, it has been a bit of an...um...eventful few minutes. I... I suppose it would make sense to call it for the night."
She felt the life leave her a bit as Matthew decided it was probably best they don't worry about the tour and head their separate ways for the night. Yet, her spirits were picked up when he mentioned doing so the next day. "Oh..um..of course! I would be happy to show you around after my lessons!" She hadn't even noticed the sudden excitement that became evident in her voice as she tilted her head, curious at his next words. "Pointers? What would you need pointers for? By what I can tell, you are plenty skilled in the Force to me with how capable you were in restacking your things. I can just barely manage to lift a rock. But I've only been training for a few days."

Oh, kriff… was she actually excited to show him around? It didn’t take a Force-Sensitive to notice the cheerfulness in her nature suddenly shrink down to disappointment. In a usual situation, something like this would’ve been the goal: play hard to get, make them want you more and come to you. This particular situation played a trickier note, though, when Matthew had that lingering, discomforting gaze upon him. He had no intention of playing with fire so soon after setting the lightspawn alight with her a motherly protection alert system. So it came as more than a relief when Kalene’s chipperness returned at up tomorrow. Keeping Kalene happy meant a happy Ashara. A happy Ashara meant a happy Zion. Maybe this girl really was the key he needed to ensure a smooth transition here.
That lightbulb goes off in Matthew’s head as he leads Kalen down the hall towards her room. It would really be up to her to stop them, though, which means that an accidental tour could happen if he wasn’t careful and lets their chattering distract her too much.
We all need pointers every now again, even the ones who call themselves Masters, he states with a laugh. Who knows? Maybe we’ll end up helping each other over time. Better than trying to get a handle over all of this alone, you know?
He glances over at Kalene out of the corner of his eye, a shock of blue suddenly glancing through shaggy dark locks.
And for what it’s worth… It took me longer than a few days to lift a single rock, so you’re already doing better than me. I have faith you’ll master it in no time at all.
Matthew laughs as he hastens his steps just enough to allow his wink to be visible before he slows down and looks around both ways throughout the dormitory corridor. Although he hadn’t lied to Kalene, the truth of the matter was something he was better off not delving into right now. If ever.
So, uh… he asks. Which one is yours…?

Kalene followed in step as they began their walk down the halls back to her chambers. Considering it was her room, she took a bit of a lead directing him at turns as they went. Her head dropped a little bit when he spoke, her mind reflecting on the reality. Perhaps he was right. But still, there was little she could give anyone currently. She was still just trying to come to terms with her ability to use the Force much less learning to use it. Ashara had said she was a quick learner and had great potential, but still. She was still to green in the ways of the Force to be of much help to anyone.
She then nodded. "Perhaps we will. Growth does move a little faster with help." This was a reality she knew too well. A flower was capable of growing just fine on its own. But with proper nurturing and setting things up specifically for it, it could bloom faster and be much more lively than if it grew alone in nature.
She then blushed a little as he spoke of his faith in her and comparing his progress versus hers. "I..well..um...thank you. My master said I was a quick learner." She then looked up a bit as he asked which room was hers. She looked around a bit, hoping that she hadn't;t past it while she was lost in thought. She gave an inward sigh of relief when she saw it just a few rooms ahead of them. She then pointed towards it. "My room is just up here."

So far, this whole endeavor was a bit more promising than his original meeting of Kalene. In a way, he cursed that he opted to just call it a night already. She at least seemed a bit more relaxed and poised than before, which was really his main concern. Only the Whills knew the hell he would have had to face if he had accidentally caused Kalene to blackout… again, and it didn’t take a Whill to jot down in their little book how bad that would’ve been for her health, at that.
Exactly, Matthew smirks with Kalene’s agreement.
With Kalene’s chambers nearing, Matthew had two options now. He can either make note of it in case of another accident and take his chances, or he could follow through with his earlier decision about calling it a night. It took as long as Zeo computing the odds of certain, harrowing escapes for Matthew to know the best course of action for tonight. Approaching the door which Kalene had pointed at, he takes a small chance at her health and places the palm of his hand against the small of her back as he guides them the rest of the way.
So… may I ask you something before I leave you for the evening, Miss Varik?
The moment that there was nowhere else to go, with a door now impeding their way, Matthew turns to face Kalene. Working a more debonair charm than his prior outlandish attempts, he meets his gaze with hers and carries a more relaxed, mature nature. He smiles and cocks his head curiously to the side, looking at her with a quizzical intrigue.
What is your favorite place here in the Temple?

Kalene stopped at her door and was ready to give a bow and final good night when his question came. She was already flustered a bit now with the feel of his hand on her back. It was all she could do in the moment not to faint once more at his touch. "Um..yes? Uh..what...what would you like to know?"
Her face only grew redder as his requested question came, making her drop her eyes from his gaze in an attempt to calm herself enough to answer it. "I..well..um...I rather like...um...being in the...courtyard. I'm...very fond of the flora that grows there. Also...I...uh...I'm currently working at the...um...renovations in it."

The more flustered Kalene became, the more amusement Matthew found in this meeting. The color in her cheeks suited her, at least. As much as he wanted to further rattle such a cute thing, he knew all too well from earlier that it very well may be the thing that pushes her over the edge again, causing her to faint, which would lead Mama Ashara rampaging again. So, instead of tilting her chin up to meet him eye to eye again, he simply allows her to keep her gaze downcast and away from him.
Chuckling, Matthew inquires, Ah, so you’re a garden girl here? I'm sure you're doing wonderful work.
Her words at least alluded to it. By the power of deduction, at that, if she hadn’t the ability to move more than a single rock, her natural Force abilities lied somewhere else. It was rare but not unheard of for an untrained person to exude a powerful instinct with the Force. Some had innate abilities that came to them as naturally as breathing. It would make sense, that lingering aura around her. She was powerful in some aspects she hadn’t come to realize yet, and it was a bit too perfect for her innocence that her power lied in the manipulation of living things. Flora, specifically, but damn the day when she mastered such marvelous skill to pertain to other… living… things… Then again, there was something making his reading of her a bit askew. He very well could be wrong, just wanting a cute girl like her to be stronger than she really was, so he let his inquiry be the end of it. In time, he figured he would get a better understanding of her true abilities, and he was actually starting to hope he would see the day where she focused and honed whatever her skills in the Force might be.
Then I hope you’ll meet me in the courtyard after your training tomorrow, Miss Varik. I look forward to seeing all of your renovations firsthand. Have a good night.
A grin was the last expression he would let her see before he stepped back and bowed low at the waist, placing his hand on his heart with the sweeping motion. As he stood back up to his full height, he wasted no time in stepping around Kalene and departing down the corridor back to his own chambers for the night. For the most part, he didn’t look back, but after several meters down, only then did he actually turn around, if only to ensure that Kalene safely made it into her room.

She managed to look up at him as she gave a smile. "Well..thank you. I try my best."
There was little time to truly explain much else as he departed soon after, wishing for her to meet him in the courtyard. In the end, she wouldn't have been anywhere else as after her lessons she would return to working with the teams in getting the next arrangements in place. It would most likely be then that he realized her work and that she was pretty much in charge of the work as Ashara observed.
She watched his bow and departed for a moment, before finally turning and heading inside, not knowing he had finally stopped to glance back. It had certainly been a long day and now that it all began to settle upon her, she felt her body growing tired. It wasn;t long before she was in bed and asleep.

Closing himself in for the night wasn’t exactly what Matthew had in store for his first night at the Temple of Karabor. Typically, the first nights for such things were a bit more intensive. Gaining a familiarity of the space he would occupy was typically rule number one, or so his prior master had instilled in him, and the sooner he could do so, the better. It would help him make note of important spaces within the Temple as well as other spaces that might enjoy during his time here. This time, though, he had unusual setbacks. Why did it always have to be a girl? At least this time, it was a different setup than most other times. The way Kalene’s cheeks would flush and that uncomfortable innocence she would exude were almost too much even for him. Even as he collapsed into bed, that vision of her would suddenly rush over his thoughts. Then again, memories Ashara and her sharp teeth and horns quickly pulled him out of those thoughts pretty quickly. If there was anything quicker to pull Matthew out of his thoughts, though, it was Zeo. Matthew had thought it a wise decision to install some life monitoring programs into the R2 unit, as a just-in-case defense. However, this would be the one time that was a curse. The circles that Matthew’s thoughts would run, the heavier his heart pounded. Typically, though, it was from a well-deserved fear of Kalene’s Master, even if Zeo wanted to poke otherwise.Hey now, Matthew shoots back, sitting up straight to turn and face the droid. I’ll give you a much-needed memory-wipe if you don’t cut it out. Zeo, however, couldn’t compute how flustered Matthew was getting and so easily. Typically, the boy held a bit more composure. Clearly, he had been through quite a bit tonight if he was ruffled that easily. All the more fun, though. The last memory-wipe Zeo had was ages ago, which was rendered useless when Matthew himself helped piece the remnants back together for a job, thus aiding his rather fiery comebacks. That said, Zeo knew better than to believe the memory-wipe threat.Look, when you face that woman and live to tell about it, only then will I let you talk about how I look like I just came out of a trash compactor, alright? Besides, I have you to thank for that whole mess. What in Chaos were you doing to the poor girl in here while I was gone? Zeo chatters a laugh as if that was his plan all along. With a huff and a roll of his eyes, Matthew lifts up a palm, and with seemingly effortless focus, brings the datapad, settled in the corner with the rest of his things, to him upon the bed. Zeo was seemingly not done with his binary quips, but Matthew was ready to cut him out for the next little while before making true on his earlier threat. What would speed up that process was what Matthew inevitably found on the screen. What the… Matthew blinks as he continues to scroll through the dialogue lit up on the screen in utter confusion. Upon realizing what Matthew found, Zeo screams in a manner that one would think that his ship got hit with a turret blast of some kind. Matthew continues to glimpse over the continuation of a rather complex poem seemingly generated from some memory bank of his or another. The more he reads, the more the boy couldn't help but burst into sheer laughter.Oh ho ho… maybe it is time for a memory wipe, Matthew laughs. Can't have you preying on any more underaged girls around here, else I might really get kicked out of here. With the tables turned, Zeo whirls quietly before wheeling himself back into the corner, forcibly shutting himself into sleep mode for the night. Oh, the issues a droid had to face when only being wheeled around with an underaged child. Matthew couldn’t stop himself from chuckling to himself as he continued to run over the poem over and over again. Plotting, if just kissing the back of Kalene’s hand was enough to make her blackout, then this would surely kill her. Then again, who knew what the next few weeks would bring? He would just need to keep this handy piece of word-mush on hand, just in case. With Zeo now settled for the night, so, too, could Matthew finally settle. Tomorrow would be quite the day. Once squired, it would ensure a more or less permanent position here among the Karabor Knight ranks. However, Zion would have a close eye on him, as would Ashara. Like a game of dejarik, he would need to play his pieces carefully over these next few weeks, but he was persistent to remain settled here for as long as it was necessary. With that confident, stubborn thought, Matthew drifted off to sleep to get as much rest as he could before facing Zion Morviael again.

As the sun rose over the horizon and the first rays of light illuminated the tip of the Temple, Zion had already risen from his bed and had made his way down to one of the classrooms. It was a medium sized, mostly featureless space that had some modularity to it. Panels on the floor could open and close to allow the addition of desks and tables for students to sit out. Panels on the walls could allow several rows of shelving to extend out containing copies of various books that were located in the archives. It was these shelves that Zion had extended out, while leaving the bulk of the room as an open space, as he stood in silent contemplation. Waiting for the arrival of Matthew, at which point he would turn towards the young man Good morning Brother Matthew... To answer the obvious question, yes you will be squired to me, and no, you cannot change to Sister Ashara. Also, yes, you will be referred to as Brother Matthew while in the Temple. We serve alongside one another as brothers and sisters in arms in a common cause. Understood?

Matthew looks around the classroom setting, doing all he could to bite his tongue regarding Zion’s comment yesterday about this not being a preparatory school… because it sure as hell looked like one to him. Still, he wasn't about to make any snide remarks today. He was on thin ice already with ‘Sister’ Ashara, so he needed to do all he could to pacify ‘Brother’ Zion. Getting past those ridiculous titles would be another hurdle for the teen, though. He nearly shuddered at the greeting of being called ‘Brother’ Matthew.
With all due respect, I wouldn’t want to be squired to Ash-... Sister Ashara anyway.
Matthew corrects his mumbled words as he crosses his arms over his chest. Up until that point, he had kept excellent eye contact and exuded some sense of confidence. However, all that shifted at Ashara’s mention. He wouldn’t give Zion the chance to inquire about it, though. That was definitely not a conversation he wanted to have.
Understood, Brother Zion. Master Zion? Master Morviael? Brother…?
Whether Matthew was clearly confused or just looking to poke at Zion to see what all was acceptable and what was not had yet to be known. If yesterday’s encounter was anything to go by, Matthew was the type to press as many buttons at one time and learn which ones created a harder time for him than others.

Zion raised an a eyebrow out of curiosity as Matthew made his comment about not wanting to be squired to Ashara. In truth, he was a little surprised considering the fact that Ashara had been the deciding opinion for whether the boy could stay or not. Either Matthew truly did want a test and to prove himself, or something had happened last night. Given his impression of Matthew so far, he could not help but suspect the latter was the more like scenario. But before he could press for more details, Matthew was already moving the conversation along Brother Zion will suffice within the Temple. In Public it is Master Morviael... He remained un-phased by the attempt to poke at him. It was a simple enough matter requiring some clarity considering how new Matthew was here. Zion had been dealing with and training kids like Matthew since before the boys grandparents were in diapers. While Matthew might try present a new challenge, Zion would be ready for it With that settled... We'll be meeting in this room for your lessons going forward. The books contained here are all copies from the Archives and cover a number of different topics and ideologies on the matter of the Force. While they are not mandatory, an understanding of various groups and their teachings will help you when facing against or dealing with a proponent of that view. But it is first worth getting accustomed to, and learning our ways... A holoprojector activated then, producing an image of a set of scales in the air between Zion and Matthew Imagine for a moment that all life, all creation, is a set of scales. When perfectly balanced, everything co-exists in unison with one another. For this balance to be maintained, an equal amount of light and dark must exist to counteract one another. Any change in that balance, whether toward light or dark, can have a devastating effect. No matter the claims the Sith or Jedi make, they are just as dangerous as one another if they are allowed to dominate. Absolute power, no matter its origin, corrupts absolutely... This is why we exist. to ensure that balance is maintained. We are neither Sith nor Jedi. We are darksiders and lightsiders, using aspects of the Force to ensure our goal is achieved as best as is possible. After all, the Force is known to create imbalances by its very nature, with two warring sides never at rest...

Matthew hums his understanding and pairs it with an affirmative nod of his head. Brother Zion. Master Morviael. Although when it really boiled down to it, there was a high chance he would mess up the two when it mattered most -- in the public eye. Then again, that wasn’t exactly in his plan to be out and about with Zion, or another ‘Brother’ or ‘Sister’ from the Temple, in public. For now, all he needed to really worry about was the Brother Zion part. Easy enough, right?
Matthew could have tried to boost his confidence through these internal banters in his head all day long, but it wouldn’t have prepared him for the upcoming lesson. When squired, he had expected something a little bit more… hands-on than a lecture. Books. Studying. Matthew nearly shudders at looking through the classroom and having to gulp down the command that he should -- although not required -- be glancing through those books. Great… just great.
However, the look on the teen’s face was nothing short of a glorious poker face. The only way that Zion would have been able to see the boy’s cringing attitude towards all of this was if he had paid attention through some other means like Force Empathy. With another nod of his head, the boy locked onto the hologram of the visual scales that were projected between the two. Lightside. Darkside. Balance and imbalance. In a way, that was partially why the boy came here to begin with. This little group of knights was having a habit of attracting the anomalies within the galaxy, and Matthew was more than a little curious to see who else out there was like him.
Would you find it safe to assume, though, that weighing the balance between the Light and Dark isn’t the same as weighing two of the same items, Brother Zion? Matthew inquires, attempting at his best ‘I’m paying attention to you’ attitude, but rather like weighing two completely opposite items of varying weights… structures… sizes… such as, as an example, weighing feathers against beskar?
Truth be told, Matthew had a hard time hiding his smug-like grin in attempting to lure Zion out into some kind of philosophical discussion about his lecture. In part, he wanted to challenge Zion’s knowledge of the topic at hand and maybe careen him slightly off course than the intended lesson. In another way, though, he was actually curious to understand the very foundation that Zion built the Knights of Karabor. He figured that was what Zion wanted of him, after all, especially after mentioning the studies of different groups and beliefs.
In some cases, one may need to meditate and accept more of one to find a ‘true balance’, seeing as one would need more ‘feathers’ so-to-speak to weigh equally with the 'beskar', yes…? Which then leads into a whole other discussion that 'light' and 'dark' is also an unfixed variable dependant on an individual's perception, which could even vary between you and I, Brother Zion. What I view as weighing as heavily as beskar could be perceived by you as weighing closer to... a muja fruit... which could then create dissonance in even our views of what 'true balance' truly is. How do the Knights combat this fluctuation in beliefs among its members?

Zion casually crossed his arms across his chest as Matthew spoke. Despite the boys seeming disinterest and distaste toward the idea of having to read books and this current lesson, Matthew certainly seemed capable of asking the right questions. He smiled then, as he activated a simulation which caused items to be placed on either side of the scale. Causing it to become off balance and then slowly return closer to balanced. Several different simulated scenario's were run in random order in a loop. There was no lesson plan, no one way of training someone up. Nor did Zion believe in strictly adhering to a stringent plan.
Topics and matters existed that Zion wanted to touch upon, but the how and when of getting to them was entirely based upon Matthew's understanding. After all, he knew nothing of what Matthew had been through before. The boy certainly had some talent in the Force. He would just need to spend some time teasing out the correct information and adjust accordingly Oh, it is by no means an assumption. It is a guaranteed fact that no two items are of equal weight. Indeed, any action or effect can be weighted differently even of the same side of the Force... However, it is a false assumption to believe that such a thing as 'true balance' exists and can ever truly be maintained. It is in the very nature of the Force to have dissonance. There will always be things that weigh the scales slightly to one side or another. For as you astutely recognized, not all things are of equal value... He cleared the hologram then, leaving just the two of them standing within the room alone While it is certainly true that there is no fixed weight to an item of light or dark, it is not necessarily true that the actions of a lightsider weigh less than the actions of a darksider. Just as the reverse is true. An item of light is equally able to weigh as much or as little as an item of dark. How we try and balance it all is not down to a science or art, nor will you find any great works on it within any of these books... It takes time and practice to understand the finer intricacies of the weight of various items. But even then, we are each bound by personal bias based upon the backgrounds we come from. We try to eliminate the larger issues by abiding by a certain code and understanding of life... Tapping a control on his datapad, Zion brought up a holoprojection showing the three core principles of Karabor: Honesty, Valour and Loyalty From there, we focus on the largest items that are putting off the balance between light and dark... Which, at present, is the threat posed by the Sith and the Knights of Ren, and by extension, The First Order. We start with what can easily be quantified in terms of size and impact. By having reference points, we can more easily come together and figure out the smaller minutiae as a collective and not individuals... Fluctuations of belief are an unavoidable eventuality, whether Sith, Jedi, Dark Jedi, or even a Knight of Karabor. By recognizing and accepting that fluctuations exist, and embracing the idea that dissonance must exist, we mitigate any issues of varying views of what balance is... 'True balance' is a lie and there is no state of existence in which it can be maintained. Split seconds of existence occur as the needle passes from one side to another. But that is it. We embark upon an endless war that we can never truly win, only achieve victories by ensuring the continued existence of this world. And that, above all else, is the most important thing...
