"No need to be so proud, after all you recently provided me with clothes when I was your guest. Although the circumstances were rather different."
Stepping around Selaya as the predatory feline stretched in the middle of the floor with the arrogant self-centeredness typical of the species, Ael reached into her small closet. Her hand brushed against the silky smooth fabric of an outfit she had not worn in a long time. Frankly, she hadn't had a good reason to keep it, but it was easy to pack and weighed very little. The Jedi woman pulled it out and slipped into it, fastening it up the side before turning around to see what Z'har might think. It was a deep green, bringing out the colour of her eyes, form-fitting as it was snug in the right places and soft to the touch. Lengthwise it reached it few inches above the knee, and the sleeves had dropped ruffles, though she pulled them up enough to keep her hands free.
The ring that he had given her in Mondder glittered on her finger as she turned towards him and handed him the hairsticks that he'd also presented her with at the time. She smiled warmly, brushing her fingertips against his cheek, "Let's see if you can put my hair up?" Standing next to him she felt shorter than normal. Most of the time she didn't really think about height, but it did occur to her as she turned so her back was towards him. Her musical voice continued in a low tone meant only for him, "You've proven to be an expert at taking it down."

-Z'har True enough, but do you have anything in my size?Z'har let out a slight rumble of approval at the dress that she had picked. As she turned her back to him, he placed his hands on her hips & slowly traced the way to the base of her neck. There he gathered her hair, it was times like this that his unique nature was extremely beneficial, taking a moment to call up information on how to pin an attractive hairstyle, he quickly twisted the hair into the proper shape & locked it into place with the ornamental rods, making sure to leave a single lock hanging free.

"A few things perhaps," she replied, considering the options. There was a suit of a complementary shade to the dress she was wearing near the back of her narrow closet, and given that he hadn't changed his measurements drastically over the years it would probably fit him tolerably.
The diminutive female's breath caught in her throat as he ran his hands gently up her back and put up her hair. She suspected him of leaving a lock free so he'd have an excuse to brush it back behind her ear randomly throughout the evening. She turned to look up at him and brushed her fingertips gently along his jawline. "Thank you. I suspected you had a hidden talent in that arena."

-Z'har The benefit of have a rather high level of dexterity. The holonet helps as well. If you have something you think will fit, bring it out & I will try it on for you.
Z'har gently caught her hand as it brushed along his jaw, before kissing the tips of her fingers lightly.

She smiled as his lips sent electric tingles shooting through her fingertips, then pulled her hand away. "Stop trying to distract me. Here you go," as she handed him a suit patterned in a reminiscently military fashion of black with green accents. "Try this." She stepped back to watch, light dancing in her eyes.

-Z'har Distracting? I'm not sure what you could ever mean.
Taking the suit, he checked it over a little before he actually bothered to put it on. It was a little tight in some places, but other wise fit well, it also wouldn't be too difficult to take the suit to a tailor & have it refitted.
-Z'har Very nice, though I do wonder why you have something in my size. Perhaps you have a thing for larger men?

"Telling lies this early in our---relationship?" Jade riposted, only a slight hesitation as she wasn't one hundred percent sure what to call what the two of them shared. She looked at him in a lingering fashion as he slipped into the clothes she'd handed him, admiring his figure as he did so.
"Well," she replied in a slow drawl as she placed her hands on her hips critically, biting her lip before looking back up at him, "I could go into that, but then we might not make it to the Lastdark tonight, or I could simply point out that since you fit that criteria do you have any complaints on that score?" The petite female smiled up at him warmly. In truth the explanation of that particular outfit was semi-complicated.

-Z'har Our relationship has never been exactly normal now has it? We each have our little secrets & our rather extensive pasts. All in all though, I thing we can skip the deliberately lying to each other stage. It would be a shame to waste all that effort getting presentable again. At least this soon into the night.
Z'har smiled at her as well & motions for her to lead the way.

"And when have you deliberately lied to me? Other than telling me you weren't being distracting when you were obviously standing about without--without clothes!" Jade considered him for a moment, head tilted just slightly to one side. To be sure they each had secrets, it was practically a requirement after all, but it added to the mystery they shared. Anyway, he did have a point about going out now instead of waiting for explanations now. If he wanted to know, he could ask her again later.
Jade scratched Selaya's ears, left the vornskr sprawled out on the floor cackle-purring loudly as she took Z'har's arm and the two of them left her room. They would be back later.

Late that night, Ael and Z'har returned to the Academy, her arm looped through his as they arrived at her quarters. Keying the door, they were greeted just inside by Selaya, the large vornskr that Ael had won in a duel. Well, more precisely the feline had been sent to her as a gift after she had won that duel. But regardless...that was how the matter stood.

Pausing a moment to beast the creature, Z'har enters the room. Sitting down causally on one of the couches in the room he opens up the top few buttons of his shirt, as it was still somewhat tight on him.
-Z'har Any pressing business to attend to? Or do you have time to sit & shoot the breeze with me?

Ael picked up her datapad and switched it on as she stepped past Selaya, checking to see what was new within the Academy. Dak and Xeres both were in need of masters, but finding available people who were willing to take on that kind of responsibility was proving to be somewhat of a headache. They were keeping up with group lessons though, and that was a definite positive. She tapped the screen and scrolled down, glancing through the information presented there. Finally, she looked back up to see that he'd begun making himself comfortable.
She smiled and set the datapad down on the low table near the window, then walking over to the small kitchenette, she opened a cabinet and withdrew a decanter filled with a dark amber liquid. She picked up two glasses in case he wished to partake, and then set them on the table and filled her glass. She pulled off her boots, lining them up precisely in their usual place and curled up one of the chairs.
"You can have tonight, at least, Z'har."
She replied quietly, taking a sip of the smooth liquid that left a trail of fire down the back of her throat. She kept the fiery ale on hand in case Mike Frantz ever found himself without his own supply.

-Z'har Ah, but what to do with a full night?
He picks up the other glass & pours a small measure of the liquid into it. He then takes a small drink from the cup. While the alcohol wouldn't effect his system, he could still enjoy the taste.
-Z'har We could continue our little story time, if you wanted.

"Sleep for most of it, I presume," Ael riposted with a slight frown over the top of her glass. Z'har might not require any sleep in his current position, but that was a very well-kept secret, and she did not possess a similar advantage.
"So, you've got a few hours I would say." She nodded to him, "Go on then, and tell away."
She shifted position a bit as Selaya suddenly dropped a notable amount of weight on her feet. Though the vornskr kept her warm, Jade knew she'd lose her feeling eventually. Still, she didn't mind overmuch at the moment. Selaya drooped her large muzzle to rest on her paws, long ears twitching back and forth as she listened to the two people talking.

Z'har sits & ponders for a few moments about what his next story should be.
-Z'har Have you ever been lava surfing? A fair number of worlds like Sullust use it as a tourist attraction. I tried it out once in my wilder days. It was a surprising amount of fun, though the occasional burn did tend to balance it out.

"Lava surfing?"
It sounded dangerous and quite hot and also deadly. Jade hadn't done anything like that 'for fun' ever. In fact, she hadn't just gone and done something because it sounded like fun since almost as far back as she could remember. Not since she got out of Academy anyway.
"So you went lava surfing and got burned? I assume you didn't fall off because you are still here."

He nods in fake seriousness.
-Z'har Yes, that is very well spotted of you. The repulsor board has some heat shielding, but only enough to keep you from being fried from the ambient heat. As you are surfing down a river of lava, usually down a rather steep hill or volcano, there are often bits of lava & red hot ash flying up from the surface. The main trick is to not run into any of them, otherwise you get to go back & spend a day or two with a bacta patch suck on you.

"While I must admit it sounds better than freezing to death on Hoth, who managed to talk you into doing this?"
Ael finished the rest of her drink, set down her glass, and regarded him with an enigmatic smile.
"You've never struck me as one who takes risks without a very definite reason."

-Z'har Yes, well you didn't meet me until well after I had settled down. I was a lot more, spontaneous in my youth. As for what convinced me, it was a holo advertisement at the spaceport I had stopped at to refuel. You didn't have a wild, rebellious stage in your life?

"Settled down? This, from the person who quickly removed his shirt to fight an unarmed duel with a woman vastly more petite than himself?"
Ael outright laughed, startling Selaya who looked up curiously before resettling herself on Jade's feet and resuming a throaty cackling purr.
"Uhm, no, not like that. My upbringing involved a blend of aristocratic military strictness. When I did 'rebel' it was with reason and forethought, and nearly cost me my life. Unlike almost all of my friends though, I survived."
She was speaking quietly, absentmindedly twisting Z'har's ring on her finger.
