One hallway of the residential level contained the masters' quarters. The suites resembled each other since they were built on the same basic design: small sleeping room with refresher unit and an adjoining living room in which was a small kitchenette unit. Given the natural beauty of the terrain surrounding the Corellian Academy, windows provided the residents with light and fresh air. Serrin Roma had shown Jade to this room when she first arrived on Corellia, and it had been hers ever since.
Out of long-established habit, Jade traveled light. There were few visible, personal touches in her room, and the most notable of these was a solitary black rose carefully preserved in all its velvety glory in a crystal glass box on a low caf-table near the window.

Enticed by the idea of a good bottle of brandy and the company of a friend I had been neglecting I manage to find my way to Jade's Quarters. Not to far from my own to be honest however In the almost half century I have spent at this academy I had hardly ever even stepped foot into the quarters assigned to me and often forget which ones are mine to begin with. Thankfully though today I am not looking for mine. Despite the arm sling and rib pain I manage to let my good humor flow out into the force around me as I hit the door chime, letting my usual half-smile spread across my bearded face as a greeting. The door slid open to reveal Jade on the other side with a decanter of Corellian brandy she'd acquired from the Lastdark in Coronet some time earlier. Behind her, a couple of glasses were placed on a low table between a low chair and the window ledge.
The diminutive Jedi Master smiled warmly in greeting. "Welcome back to Corellia, Master Frantz."

~Later~-Z'har I suppose that it is my incredible good fortune to a have a great wealth of interesting stories from my past them. *& a fortune of stories he did have. Earlier in life he had been tempted to settle down as an author & sell books on his adventures. Fortunately for his current situation, he had instead joined up with a somewhat minor Empire on the Outer Rim. One that had eventually been absorbed by the growing Mandalorian Empire. Which had led to an invitation to a certain Ball.* "Lives are a collection of stories, Z'har, I've got a few of my own," she responded lightly, her arm linked through his as they proceeded through the halls of the Academy into the Residential wing and finally arrived at Jade's quarters. Her name was printed on the small identification panel outside the door.
The Phoenix Imperium Ball that he was thinking of was the occasion for the first black rose he had given her. The second lay preserved in a crystal box on a low table in her room as one of few personal touches in quarters that while pristine would still be qualified as spartan. Ael smiled to herself, thinking of the fight they had had on Galantos, no Force, no weapons...just Z'har standing opposite her, wearing only his pants. She'd enjoyed it, even if she hadn't admitted it till much later."Not very much like your palatial residence, but this is where I live."

-Z'har Then we can each grow richer on sharing them.
*A quick glance was all it took to absorb the contents of the room. A life spent in & out of danger & the spartan quarters making it a simple & automatic gesture. He did however notice her slight slip at his identity. Clerical workers did not have palatial residences, at least not usually, but it could easily be misunderstood by an outsider as a jest.*
-Z'har I wouldn't exactly call my flat a Palace. Though it is a touch more spacious.

Kriffing hell. The alarm bells went off too late in the back of Jade's mind. She hesitated, then realized there was no one within eavesdropping distance. "Having trouble with sarcasm?" she quipped back. "I visited one on a couple occasions years ago, but as for actually living in one? I think that's better dreamed of than experiencing in reality." Politics and assassinations tended to happen in those kinds of residences. For herself, she preferred to come home and be able to relax instead of having to constantly watch her back. Not that she was careless either, but she did sleep easily here.

-Z'har Being able to see every corner of your quarters at once does have its advantages. One advantage to having large rooms is that there is plenty of room for random trinkets.
*Another was that there was more space for explosions to dissipate into.*

"I used to have larger rooms, back when I lived on Galantos. For the most part they seemed empty. I didn't like it," Jade shrugged expressively as the door slid closed behind them. Stepping closer to Z'har and stretching up on her tiptoes so she could lightly place her arms on his shoulders and link her fingers behind his neck, she inquired, "Are you intimating that you mind being in close proximity to me? I'm sure there are ways to keep you...occupied." Emerald green eyes flashed momentarily with sparks as she looked up into his own dark eyes.

Wrapping his arms around her back, he takes another slow glance around the room before smiling.
-Z'har One benefit is that we are less likely to break something, I suppose.
Ducking forward ever so slightly, he brushes a feather light kiss on the edge of her jaw.

"Break something?" Jade inquired, half-curiously, half-suspiciously, wondering what the Zabrak would think if he knew some of the things that were household tales on her homeworld. She smiled lightly, running her hands from his shoulders down to his chest before looking up at him.

-Z'har All things in life considered, it is certainly a possibility.
After all Zabraks were a rather hardy & energetic species from a harsh world, occasionally thing would get knocked off desks or tables, or simply knocked over rather forcefully. Generally not intentionally.

"There isn't much to break, so I think you have nothing to concern yourself with on that score," she replied calmly. "If you smash the box preserving the rose you gave me, you'll have to give me another one." She extricated herself from his arms, relieved him of his bag by placing it out of the way, and sat down on the edge of her bed to look at him.

-Z'har The box is not going to break, no matter what might happen to it.
Stepping forward he slowly leans forward, requiring that she lay back on the bed to prevent them from bumping heads. He plants a hand off to either side of her shoulders keeping himself suspended above her. He then grins down at her.
-Z'har But I'm sure a wise Jedi Master like yourself can think of some way to pass the time comfortably.

"Oh I don't have to think about it, Z'har," she replied, laughing. "I don't even think that the 'Jedi Master' really has anything to with it either," she continued, striking out at his elbows with of her hands and then taking the time to show him what she meant instead of explaining further.

It was a time late that Z'har took another long look around the room.
-Z'har It would seem that we haven't broken anything yet. Do you have any particular plans for this evening?

Jade propped herself up on one arm to look at her companion a bit better. "Other than a shower and change of clothes, not particularly," she smiled warmly, "I wasn't expecting you this soon. Depending on your mood, we could go to the Lastdark?" she suggested, while lazily running her hand up his chest.
With only a split second of warning, a large vornskr leaped through the open window and landed semi-gracefully on four paws. One cackling-purr later, she pounced on both her current and her former owners, and proceeded to nuzzle her large snout directly between the two of them, prehensile tail lashing around to catch Z'har's wrist lightly.

It took Z'har a moment to place the creature, but before it had finished landing he had connected all the dots & labeled it as 'not a threat'. Ruffling the hair on the top of the creature's head, Z'har then proceeded to scratch just behind its ears.
-Z'har Well, I certainly haven't seen you in a while. Thank you for taking care of Jade.
Turning his attention back to Jade, he answers the question.
-Z'har I leave myself in your capable hands. As I have not idea where to start.

Selaya licked Z'har's hand with a rough tongue, flicking her ears back and forth as he scratched an unreachable itch for her. She sniffed at him, instinctively aware that something was weird, then projected a mental image of Jade perfectly capable of taking care of her own self, as she had been left behind to watch Terra Kiros. The vornskr huffed disdainfully.
Jade smiled. Not many men would give a woman a vornskr as a pet, but it had worked. It was odd to be sure, but she didn't mind too much. Nothing about her and Z'har was typical. There wasn't really anything to compare them to anyway.
"Mmmm," she lazily ran her fingers through the reclining Zabrak's hair, "let's go out then, see if you can still dance maybe..."

A smile drifted across Z'har's face.
-Z'har I might be a little rusty, but I'm certain that memories will return quickly enough once you are in my arms.

"I'm sure, and if practice is what you need, there are a plethora of ways to provide it," she riposted with a wink as she got up, deftly avoiding Selaya in the process, though by now her bed was quite crowded. She hopped into the refresher and returned a few minutes later feeling much better as she toweled her hair dry.
"I could even provide a change of clothes for you...if you wish to let your hair down and relax this evening."

-Z'har I did bring enough to keep myself clothed, thank you very much.
After cleaning himself as well, Z'har rejoined her.
