Oblivious to the weaving of the transport, and to the shuddering accompanying the impact of laser fire on it's shields, Katsumi smiles beneath the grinning skull mask she wears as, judging that the fire she has coaxed and teased into life has reached its zenith, she sends the mental inferno outwards towards the minds of the enemy. As the troop transport bearing Katsumi and the Stormtroopers it ferries for Rendili's surface continues it's descent, the hungry mental flames lick greedily at the minds of the enemies the raging inferno engulfs as it spreads outwards, inciting varying degrees of panic, fear, despair, hopelessness, and at times near catatonia when the heat of the mental conflagration is so intense that it consumes the minds it inundates. Nearest to the eye of the mental storm generated by the Darksider are the Kohar and the Anziv, and it is aboard those refitted CR90's, along with the ships of their surviving starfighter pilots that attempt to help defend Rendili from the invading force that has launched what has thus far been a nearly perfect, and rather successful surprise assault.
The captain of the Kohar, as sound of mind and seasoned in battle as he is, finds himself freezing up for the first, and more likely than not, last time in his career as the telepathic tidal wave hits his mind, submerging or crushing all of his training, tactical knowledge, and skill in the art of naval warfare beneath the waves of fear and hopelessness that crash over it. The captain of the Kohar finds himself standing utterly still and mute as, those among his bridge crew less affected by the Darksider's mental attack than he or others among the crew, turn to him for orders, for guidance. The captain of the Kohar opens his mouth, but no words come, and he simply closes it as enemy fire continues to slam into his ship while his crew panics, some deserting their stations entirely while those who find the will or strength to stay find their abilities to perform their duties severely hampered by the Darksider's devastating mental attack. The Kohar's shields soon fail, and her captain still finds himself frozen as enemy fire begins to tear into his ship.
The surviving pilots of the Kohar's starfighter compliment, a mere five T-65 X-wings that had begun to attack the enemy troop transports making for Rendili's surface, are nearly all completely unnerved by the Darksider's vicious telepathic attack; two of them breaking off their attack runs and attempting to flee the battle only to be destroyed by fire from enemy capital ships or starfighters, while the remaining three either, like the captain of the Kohar, either freeze up and fail to react quick enough to react to enemy attacks or perish when the overwhelming odds they face catch up with them.
The Captain of the Anziv does his level best to stand firm against the mental onslaught that, invisible though it may be, can all but be seen rushing over the defense fleet's ships near enough to the Darksider that generated it and sent it forth, but fares little better than his comrade aboard the Kohar; hesitation and doubt making his orders given a moment too late to be effective or simply unsound or insightful enough to turn the tide of the battle now that it is so thoroughly against them. Shouted damage reports begin to pour in as the Anziv's captain, sweating profusely and only clinging on to his mind by proverbial fingernails, tries to think of what to do now that shields have failed, many of his crew have been crippled by the Darksider's mental attack, and the enemy relentlessly continues to press their assault.
The Anziv's few remaining X-wing pilots, suffering to varying degrees from the effects of the telepathic attack, are soon counted among the day's fallen when their ships are torn apart by enemy fire.

Over Edethor
Watching Rendili's defense fleet begin to come undone as the effects of the Knight of Ren sent to accompany the First Order's forces for the invasion of Rendili are made apparent, Ishild has the same thought she has had before when witnessing the power beings such as Katsumi have at their command, that it is fortunate for the First Order that their Supreme Commander had the foresight to gain the allegiance of the Knights of Ren and other Darkside aligned beings, along with the charisma and strength to ensure that their might is utilized to sow order throughout the universe.
Entertaining no thoughts of demanding the surrender of the floundering ships of Rendili's defense fleet, nor of accepting such were it to be offered, Ishild coolly orders the Vindicator-class cruisers, the Renate and the Mette, to cease their attacks upon the Kohar and Anziv and, with their TIE/IN's mopping up the last of the enemy starfighters, withdraw to their former positions flanking her ship, the Kusigunde, so that they are in no danger when the CR90's are reduced to debris. Once she is informed that her TIE's have reached minimum safe distance from the doomed corvettes, Ishild, watching silently for a moment from her ship's forward viewport dispassionately as the shields of the enemy ships falter so that her ship's turbolaser, ion cannon, and concussion missile fire begins to tear holes in their hulls, orders her fore gunners, "No quarter. Finish them off. Turning to her XO, a tall Epicanthix with blonde hair named Dachs Brandt, Ishild tells him, Contact our other ships. I want sitreps stat. Have the Renate and Mette standby to maneuver to assist in any problem areas."
Brandt salutes, moving towards his station to carry out his orders, as Ishild continues to watch the final death throes of the enemy ships being torn asunder.
Rendili StarDrive Shipyards
Captain Eilert Hirsch, commanding the Vindicator-class cruiser, the Heilwig, snorts in commingled amusement and admiration as the Sevan, captured in his ship's tractor beam and being pulled away from the shipyards so that it can be destroyed without damaging the shipyards it had been tasked with defending, maneuvers to bring its port weapons into position to fire on the Heilwig. The gesture, Hirsch calculates as he watches the less than concerning effect of the corvette's opening volley on his ship's shields, is a futile one, but admirable in its tenacity all the same.
Turning his bald head to address his XO, Hirsh, a stocky Socorran in his early forties, says, "Have helm continue taking us away from the shipyards. Divert half power from ventral shields to dorsal. Have all quad turbolaser batteries standby to fire on my mark, while watching a holoprojection of his ship and the enemy that includes the distance of both from the shipyards. When the display shows that the enemy vessel has been pulled far enough away from the shipyards that its destruction will not damage them, Hirsh lifts a hand and barks, Disengage tractor beams and open fire!"
As the Heilwig's turbolasers begin to rain laser fire upon the Sevan, a sensor officer upon the Wibeke, the Assassin-class corvette accompanying the Heilwig, suddenly sits up straighter in his seat when four vessels suddenly revert into realspace relatively near to the shipyards, calling out excitedly, "New contacts! Four unidentified vessels," he continues more calmly, identifying their present bearing and attitude so that the Wibeke's captain can respond to the new wrinkle more effectively.
Over Southern Hemisphere
The Victory II-class Star Destroyer, the Suenja, accompanied by the Assassin-class corvette, the Kasimira, order their TIE/IN's to continue pursuit of the Vosigi, which escaped from the Suenja's tractor beam. As their TIE's max speed and fire on the enemy corvette's engines, the Suenja and Kasimira follow suit, both vessels increasing their speed to maximum and ordering their helmsman to pursue the retreating enemy CR90.
As they continue their pursuit, the Kasimira begins to maneuver off to the Vosigi's starboard side while the Suenja doggedly remains on its six o'clock, beginning to send turbolaser and ion cannon fire towards the enemy ship once it is in range.
Over Northern Hemisphere
Captain Gisela Roth, commanding the Victory II-class Star Destroyer, the Adaleiz, tugs the right sleeve of her tunic down fussily as she smiles when the Sirvat is successfully captured in her ship's tractor beam. "Weapons free. Exterminate them," Gisela orders in a calm voice, only the glint in her eyes hinting at the elation she feels at the way evens have unfolded thusfar.
The captain of the Vindicator-class cruiser, the Elke, Parzifal Bohm, is practical to a fault, and as he knows that success in their present mission does not mean they will not be given new orders, has his helmsman maintain their current position, and then has his starfighter pilots return to the hangar to refuel and rearm.

Rendili Orbit - Above Rendili StarDrive - Command Bridge of the Gadriel'lora'lya
"Why didn't they show up on the original scans?!
Nakor was standing before the command chair upon the bridge as the proximity alarms began to sound and suddenly the bridge was a scurry of action as many of the officers switched to battle stations. Nakor having regained his composure shouted orders to bring the fleet into an arrowhead formation and for the fighters to be prepped for launch.
With the orders being passed the Three Hammerhead Corvettes moved into a tripod position about the Hammerhead Cruiser as power was shifted to the forward shields and batteries. Back on the bridge of the command ship Nakor had received a small bit of information concerning the sensor glitch that had prevented them from reading the enemy fleet and the battle ensuing above the StarDrives. Now all four ships had moved into attack position as they came down towards the battle. Comm lines had opened and Nakor now addressed the fleet in orbit.
::Vindicator-Class Cruiser - pull off your attack or you will be destroyed.::
As a point of Accenting his threat a full turbolaser broadside was fired into the rear quarter of the Vindicators shielding - accompanied by the free fire from all three Vette's just as the hangerbay doors opened and the space between the ships was flooded with flights of Aurek and TwinTail fighters.
StarDrive's Docking Port
"Having docked with the StarDrive's Altair and his command crew had exited the Fury-Class interceptor before word of the battle had reached them - hearing call from Janos concerning Nakor's choice to engage Altair had orderd the Fury to cloak and join the battle - the upgraded shielding and weapons system's the Fury-Class Interceptor provided could turn the tide of the battle. Meanwhile, Altair and his team made their way through the hanger bay with some haste towards the command room of the StarDrive's space port. There was only one hope for the defense of the planet now...
"Keep tight - they were here before us - we dont know what we'll be walking into! Someone try and get me a line towards whoever is leading the Defense."

Rendili StarDrive Shipyards
Captain Eilert Hirsch . . . says, ". . .Disengage tractor beams and open fire!"Over Southern Hemisphere . . . As they continue their pursuit, the Kasimira begins to maneuver off to the Vosigi's starboard side while the Suenja doggedly remains on its six o'clock, beginning to send turbolaser and ion cannon fire towards the enemy ship once it is in range. Over Northern Hemisphere"Weapons free. Exterminate them," Gisela orders in a calm voice . . . The frantic braying of alarms, increasing confusion and panic among his bridge crew, and the shift to red hued emergency lighting register dimly in the Captain of the Kohar's awareness, but all fail to shake him out of the state of frozen terror he has been reduced to in the wake of the Force enabled telepathic assault that has crippled him, and many others among Rendili's defense fleet.
The violent shuddering, quaking and moaning of his ship as it begins to be torn apart when its shields fail and leave it vulnerable to the full brunt of the enemy's attacks nearly succeeds where all else had not, and the Kohar's captain puts a hand to his temple while shaking his head as if to shake off the mental binds that have kept him from doing anything but stand in mute witness to the destruction of his ship and crew, but a mere glance at his boards, displaying damage and status reports from throughout the Kohar, tells him that there will be no last moment reprieve from their fate.
The Captain of the Kohar and his crew, dying to a man a moment later when his prediction comes to pass and his ship is destroyed by the enemy, are soon joined in death by the Captain of the Anziv and her crew, who go down fighting to the last where the indecision of their captain made their end an ignoble one, perish when the Anziv can no longer withstand the ferocity of the enemy assault and its hull gives way.
His attacks on the enemy vessel that has captured his ship in its tractor beam ineffective, the captain of the Sevan curses under his breath as his ship's shields begin to fail and it is apparent that they do not have long to live, orders his port side weapons to continue firing on the Heilwig all the same, an ultimately futile gesture that he can only hope will effect some damage on the Vindicator-class cruiser to give the bastards something to remember him and his crew by. Following orders to the last, the Sevan's weapons continue firing on their oppressor until the very last moment, ceasing only when the Sevan explodes, reduced to so much debris hurtling through the vacuum of space when several concussion missiles hit its engines and power plant.
The Sirvat, over the northern hemisphere, meets a similar fate to that of the Sevan and her crew, bravely continuing to attack the enemy before being destroyed when, captured by the enemy Star Destroyer's tractor beam and ultimately falling to the superior firepower of the enemy, their ship simply cannot withstand anymore damage.
The captain of the Vosigi, informed of the losses of the Sevan, Anziv and Kohar, sighs heavily as he briefly entertains the idea of ordering a jump to hyperspace. It is, the captain knows, only a matter of time before the enemy captures his ship, disables their engines, or penetrates its shields, and attempting to stand against the enemy can only end in the deaths of his crew. Cowardice is, in the end, too distasteful to him, as is the idea of abandoning his duty to the citizens of Rendili, and so the captain orders his helmsman to angle their bow up and initiate a hard turn to starboard to bring them about to face their enemy. If he is to die, the captain thinks with bitter anger brewing inside of him, he will die fighting. As the Vosigi begins its turn, the captain orders his dual turbolaser gunners to send support fire towards the enemy fighters pursuing or their own remaining starfighters, while all single turbolasers target the command bridge of the enemy Star Destroyer that hounds them. StarDrive's Docking Port"Having docked with the StarDrive's Altair and his command crew had exited the Fury-Class interceptor. . and . . . made their way through the hanger bay with some haste towards the command room of the StarDrive's space port. The small security force maintained by Rendili StarDrive shipyards had, once the attack in orbit had begun and it was clear that the shipyards would more likely than not be targeted by the enemy forces, made what preparations they could to defend the shipyards for as long as possible. Under the command of Gervasio Trevisan, a fifty year old former member of Rendili's defense force who had commanded an infantry platoon in his younger days, the security force had evacuated the civilian personnel stationed in the shipyards to a centrally located, easily defended area, stationing a small force with the civilians to defend them or, if defense was no longer an option, to negotiate with the enemy for their safety and release.
Gervasio, knowing that the hangar bay would be the most likely point of ingress for any enemy forces sent to secure the shipyards, had deployed the remainder of his men to defend all of the entry points from the hangar bay to the rest of the shipyards, commanding one of the teams defending one such entry point personally, and so it is that when Altair and his crew exit their ship and deploy for the command room they find themselves confronted with none other than Gervasio himself.
Having expected to come under attack by Stormtroopers, the conclusion that it is the First Order attacking Rendili the only one Gervasio finds feasible given the present state of affairs in the galaxy, the security team elects to ask questions before simply opening fire when Altair and his crew move on their position. With communications jammed by the invading force, Gervasio has been unable to establish contact with Rendili's defense force, or its leaders on the surface of the planet, and with no way to determine which side of the battle Altair and his crew are on, has little choice but to order the five men with him to fire warning shots in front of the advancing force.
Once the warning blaster bolts have spattered on the hangar deck in front of Altair and his crew's position, ideally halting their advance, Gervasio calls out, "Hold your position and lower your weapons! This is Commander Gervasio, Rendili StarDrive security. State your allegiance and purpose or we will open fire."

Rendili StarDrive Shipyards
On the bridge of the Heilwig, Captain Hirsh arches an eyebrow in commingled surprise and irritation as the transmission from the battlegroup that has unexpectedly joined the fray near the shipyards, coming on the heels of his sensor officer's announcement of the contacts, is accompanied by the launch of starfighters and a turbolaser broadside. The starfighter launch and broadside suggest that the new arrivals have little interest in negotiation, which suits Hirsh fine given that he has no intention of abandoning his mission when he has already eliminated the lone Rendili defense fleet ship defending his primary mission objective of securing the shipyards. Letting his actions answer the enemy commander's request for his ship to cease its operation, Hirsh says calmly, "Helm, as he studies the holographic projection of the battleground after a brief glance at his boards to review the status of the Heilwig's shields, down a small percentage after the broadside impacts them, bring us up and to port of the battlegroup, maneuver to keep them below and to our starboard. Some jockeying for position will be inevitable as the enemy fleet will no doubt maneuver in answer to his ship's bearing, but Hirsh's order is intended to hinder the largest ship of the newly arrived battle group's effectiveness to at least some degree, with the smaller ships supporting it's port side being kept, as much as possible, between it and the Heilwig. All starboard quad turbolaser cannons and point defense laser cannons, Hirsh continues, lay down a field of suppressing fire towards those starfighters, cease suppressing fire when our TIEs close and engage, then begin to target individual enemy fighters that attempt to approach on attack vectors. Point-defense light ion cannons and light turbolaser fire on the corvette to port of the enemy cruiser. As his orders are carried out, the Heilwig beginning its evasive maneuver as its weapons begin firing, Hirsh says, Have our TIEs assume cruise formation and begin approach from beneath our suppressing fire, and break into finger four formations when they are in attack range."
Reaching up to adjust the collar of his tunic, Hirsh watches the holographic projection as his surviving TIEs begin their maneuver, and then tells his XO, "Send an encoded burst holonet transmission to Admiral Sauer informing her of the successful elimination of the defense fleet's ship and the arrival of an unknown hostile battle group, as the current jamming of comm traffic in orbit - not always 100% effective as the comm transmission from the hostile fleet that arrived reveals - necessitates resorting to holonet communication for the time being. Tell the Admiral that the Wibeke will proceed as planned with its next objective, Hirsh adds with a frustrated yet resigned frown, but that our next objective has been changed by necessity to hindrance or elimination the new threat. Amendment of the battle plan may be required, depending on our success of lack thereof."
Aboard the Wibeke, maneuvering on approach to the docking port of the shipyards, its compliment of sixty Stormtroopers conduct final checks of their weapons and gear as they prepare to assume control of the shipyards, unaware of the cloaked ship that has arrived before them to complicate matters.
Over Southern Hemisphere
As the Vosigi, surprising Captain Vinzenz Lorenz of the Suenja to no end, comes about and boldly goes on the offensive, several of the Destroyer's pursing TIEs are destroyed by the turbolaser fire or are shot down as they maneuver to avoid it. Acknowledging his XO's terse announcement of the damage sustained to their shields by the Vosigi's opening salvo, Lorenz orders his helmsman to climb and bring their starboard side to face the enemy ship's bow so that all starboard ion and turbolaser weapons will be able to fire on the ship's longest axis, ideally effecting greater damage than an attack to a vessel's port or starboard side would, and then orders his TIE pilots to maneuver to the Vosigi's stern to attempt to exploit its axial blind spot.

Above Rendili StarDrives
Death filled the empty void between the two fleets - the squadrons of aurek and twintail fighters broke formation in a quite random and chaotic fashion to avoid the incoming fire from the turbo laser bombardment. The aurek's more maneuverable than their counterparts moved in swift cutting motions through the empty space the actions of trained pilots with hundreds of hours of combat training, vets of countless battles over the years - the twintail's however did not think to answer in kind, simply bunched together in tight formations and weaved in and out of the barrage of fire obviously meant more to distract them until the ties could get in range than to do any real damage - guns that large and from that far away lacked any real accuracy. The point defense systems however were far more accurate and claimed a pair of TwinTails just as they moved to evade the laser cannon fire.
The Three hammerheads likewise broke away from the cruiser dipping low under the allied fighter lines. Two accomplished this maneuver unhindered while the third - the port side 'vette was slowed considerably as the ion cannon fire pelted through its shielding against the hull attempting to incapacitate the ship. The electrical current coursed through the small ship but the polarized hull plating allowed the energy to be dispersed before damaging any crucial systems, it did however short out several of the ships systems for a brief span which allowed a light laser bolt to slam into the ships hull with a silent explosion taking out the ships long range scanner before the shielding re-modulated itself to stop the rest of the cannon fire barrage from tearing the ship apart. The old ship recovered, and was soon on the tail of the other two, arcing below their fighter line and firing a synchronized barrage of fire into the incoming fighter line - unlike the larger ships the vettes were more equipped to fight the smaller ships - their targeting computers more accurate and at much closer a range the light las-cannon fire focused solely upon the front lines of the incoming squadrons intending the same - to break them apart and making them easier targets while targeting the lead in each squadron forcing them to operate without coherent leadership. The straggling vette held fire until the lines had reformed then did the same opening up upon the reformed lines again with a much lighter barrage.
With the Twintails out of position having evaded the turbo laser fire and falling behind, and the smaller aureks much faster - they hit first firing a barrage of laser fire into the reforming tie lines - singling out their targets by squadron and keeping in tight formation to avoid making themselves an easy target intent on their advanced years of experience closing the gap between their fighters and the more maneuverable interceptors they were squaring off against.
"Focus fire on their shields, stagger fire and focus point upon their generator! Ion cannon's on those quad-cannons, I want them out of commission before our fighters get free - Helm... take me straight at them!"
Following the second and third broadside against the enemy's shielding the cruiser angled itself towards the enemy ship, instead of moving to counter its movements. Providing a narrower target and the hammerhead cruiser turned into the path of the vindicator then unleashing a barrage of concussive missile fire from the forward launchers focusing as well upon the turbolasers, hoping the ion cannons had made a hole for them, it was clear Nakor meant to disable the ship, not destroy her.
*Quickly escaping the hanger bay after releasing its cargo the cloaked Fury-Class found its first target, an Assassin-class corvette moving towards the bay port it had just vacated. Janos quickly brought the ship into its forward viewport - the twin clone pilots moving their hands over the controls with expert precision one on the stick, the other operating the weapons systems. Unfortunately the ship was unable to fire while cloaked - so while they were as of yet undetected that would not last once their first barrage was released. Silently they both assessed the ships purpose as being a troop transport to take the StarDrives - compliment of a ship that size was anywhere between 60 to 150 troopers, not impossible for Altair to deal with, but not a walk in the park for anyone - even if the troopers were not very well trained sheer probability indicated at least one of them should hit something before they all died.
The Cloaking fell and several things happened at once - first a pair of concussion missiles were launched from the wings of the ship towards the main loading dock upon the side of the assassin corvette, second a barrage of turbolaser fire was aimed directly at the bridge in attempt to confuse, disorient, and panic the pilots, and thirdly Janos sent a coded warning to their captain letting him know of immanent danger. After the first foray the Interceptor flew straight over the cockpit viewport of the corvette and raised its cloak again before circling around for another pass...*
Within Rendili StarDrives Main Hanger bay
*Taking a turn around a series of cargo containers Altair and his men were met with the starport security team - or he assumed they were, since they had yet to fire, and they were not the regular bucketheads he had expected from the remnants of the Empire. Upon the Order to lower their weapons each member of the command team raised them and took aim - safety's off and fingers itching their triggers ready for anything. It was Altair who moved between the two groups and raised his hands defensively shouting out to his men.*
"Hold!"
*The large Coruscanti slowly moved his hand to the control switch at the side of his visor which at the touch collapsed into his collar revealing his face and his surprisingly soft and trustworthy green eyes. He cocked what could be seen as a rather arrogant smile still with his hands half raised.*
"Gervasio, a pleasure... I am Captain Altair Sirraf of the Felucian Conclave's Strike Force Alpha. These are my men and I would take it as a personal favor if you did not force them to kill you."
*A soft chuckle escaped his lips and while his heavily armed and armored men did not lower their weapons each stood as still as stone in their obviously outdated ARC armor, each colored to their station indicating the Yellow of a Commando Officer, the pair in the Red of Tactical Commando, the Blue of a Medic, and the Green of Advanced Recon. Unlike standard clone armor this heavy armor bore the adaptations and upgrades of the years they had worn it and now they looked more like a band of mercenary veterans than the known Clone Troopers of old. Altair himself looked every part a tech'ed out brigand - pieced together armor, a personal cloak and shield device worked into his chest armor, a wrist-gaunt that seemed to have more adaptations and ports than most astromech droids topped off with a dark cloak and a red scarf about his neck tattered, dirty, and half splattered with dried blood no doubt years old. The only indicating mark upon him was a Bothan clan symbol, that of the Clan Alya displayed in red upon his chest plate about the size of a fist, the Mark of the Jedi Master who had formed the army he now led. A second passed in silence waiting for the Security force commander to speak before his wrist-gaunt beeped - the sound wiping the smile from his face instantly.*
"Hear that Commander? Your fleet is in pieces and Grievous is at the Gates... Seems like you need some help right about now?"

Alliance Captain Merodach Cherney, seated in his command chair aboard his MC90 Star Cruiser, the Maebh, leans forward as the small Alliance fleet that had been assembled to aid Rendili defend itself against the invasion a Jedi Investigator, Vashity Lokshin, had learned of while undercover on Agamar, emerges from hyperspace roughly over Edethor and learns just what it has jumped into. Judging by the debris and wreckage floating near the First Order ships, Merodach feels it safe to assume that Rendili's defense fleet, at least what ships had been defending the orbital space over the capital, has not fared well in the battle thusfar. Hopefully, Merodach thinks as he issues the order for his helmsman to bring them in position to enable their gunners to fire a broadside at the Nebula-class Star Destroyer with ion cannon batteries, to be followed immediately thereafter by another from turbolaser batteries.
The Maebh emerges from hyperspace in the center of the fleet that had been assembled, which arrives in line of battle formation so that its opening attack can be one in which all ships can fire a broadside upon the enemy with no fear of hitting a friendly ship. As all ships in the fleet had been ordered to fire broadsides at the largest enemy ship present on the battlefield upon their reversion to realspace, the Nebula-class Star Destroyer will find itself at the center of a veritable storm of turbolaser and ion cannon fire. Along with the Maebh are 2 MC30c frigates, 1 Gladiator-class Star-Destroyer, 1 MC40a light cruiser, and 4 Carrack-class light cruisers. As the opening salvo is sent forth from the ships, starfighter pilots prepare to launch to provide cover for the troops that will soon be embarking for the surface of the planet.
Feeling as much as hearing the effects of the broadside being fired by the Maebh as he walks towards the LAAT/i that will be taking him, his Jedi companions, and the Alliance troopers to Rendili's surface. Provided that is, Arduino cannot help but add with a half-hearted mental chuckle, we survive the trip at all. Arduino's boots, still caked with mud and blood from the battle against First Order forces on Dantooine, seem heavier and heavier as he strides purposefully for the gunship, around which the Alliance troops check their weapons and gear, and chatter with the bluster and bravado of men and women about to enter battle. Looking over towards the blonde haired female Morganian Jedi walking along with him and a male Zabrak Jedi, Arduino asks her, "Are you sure you want to come along with us to the ground Berdine? We'll have need of a healer up here just as much as we will down there." Having known Berdine nearly all of his adult life, in addition to much of his childhood as well, Arduino does not expect her to change her mind, even as exhausted as they all are after the recent fighting on Dantooine, he knows that Berdine will want to be where she feels she can do the most good.

As the battle in orbit over Rendili rages on, with new and unexpected players arriving on the proverbial board as the complete and total surprise achieved by the invading First Order fleet enables them to swiftly eliminate many of Rendili's defense fleets' pieces from it, some elements as yet uninvolved in the conflict prepare to join the fray. Untouched, as yet, by the battle being waged on many fronts, are the twin Bravos-II heavy duty military space platforms, the Guardian in orbit over Edethor, and the Siren's Call situated near Rendili StarDrive's shipyards.
Manned, like the Guardian, with only a minimum crew compliment, the Siren's Call is under the command of Captain Murali Jha, of mixed Chalactan and Hapan descent. Murali, cursing the shortsightedness of those who felt that the fact that Rendil, located in the relative safety of the Core Worlds, had not faced any hostile force of significance in recent memory justified cutting back on military spending, orders shields to be raised, all hands to their stations, and the lone squadron of starfighter pilots stationed aboard the space platform to prepare for launch as he watches helplessly as the Sevan and its starfighter compliment is cut mercilessly down soon after the battle begins.
"Too slow," Murali mutters to himself with a rueful shake of his head as he watches the battle's progress on a holotable in the middle of his command center. As soon as all hands report in, and the hangar deck crew informs him that the twelve T-65 X-wing pilots are standing by for launch, Murali begins barking orders, instructing the fighters to launch and focus their attack on the Assassin-class corvette inbound for the shipyards, and for all turbolaser and concussion missile launcher weapons officers with a line of sight on the Vindicator to open fire . A small smile, tentative and cautious, briefly appears on his face when Murali, as the first volley of weapons fire roars forth from the platform, watches the arrival of a fleet that makes the fact it is a friendly one to Rendili known immediately when it fires on the invading fleet.Within Rendili StarDrives Main Hanger bay"Hold!. . . Hear that Commander? Your fleet is in pieces and Grievous is at the Gates... Seems like you need some help right about now?" Waving a hand absently for his men to lower their weapons once it is readily apparent that the new arrivals are not hostiles, Gervasio tilts his head to the side at an inquisitive anglle while the one calling the shots for the friendlies that look like mercenaries who have been around the block a time or two yammers on with a smirk that probably has gotten on more than one individual's nerves if it is employed in tense situations like the one it is beaming in just now. Waving his hand again to, he hopes, stop Sirraf of the Felucian Blah Blah from launching into another fit of yammering like one of those doll's with the pull-strings at the back that has had its string pulled so much that it just goes on and on, Gervasio gruffly says with little in the way of humor in his tone, "Yeah, yeah, you had us at hello mate. Cutting his eyes from Siraff and his mates to the scene visible from outside of the hangar bay, where an enemy ship is inbound and being harried by a ship equipped with a cloak, Gervasio cuts the witty banter portion of the proceedings short, waving Sirraf and his people over as he agrees, Help we could use, yeah. Like you said, enemy is heading right for the bloody gate. Calling out to his men as he lifts his DC-17 hand blaster into the air, standard issue for the members of the security force maintained by the shipyards, Gervasio says, Danger is getting close lads, look sharp! Let's make the schutta pay for every inch they advance!"
Haggard yet determined cheers greet Gervasio's attempt to be motivational, followed by a tense silence as he and his men take up their positions behind the barricades they have hastily erected to deter the advance of the enemy into the shipyards.
The captain of the Vosigi, gripping the arms of his command chair tightly and gritting his teeth as the salvo of ion and turbolaser fire fired at the bow of his ship rains down upon them. The blaring of alarms that begins to sound out even as the Vosigi is still shuddering from the impact of the enemy fire makes it apparent to the captain that his ship has taken more than a little damage to her shields this time.
Glancing at his boards, frowning as he sees that bow shields had been disabled by the ion fire, allowing the turbolasers to hit the portside of the bow and, since his helmsman had begun to go evasive and attempted to dip beneath the line of fire when the path of the incoming enemy fire had become clear, the rear dorsal section of the ship just before the engines.
"Reroute power from stern shields to get those bow shields back up, the Vosigi's captain says as he wipes sweat from his forehead while his smaller and more agile corvette roars past the enemy ship, swallowing hard as he tells his helmsman, Bring us about for another attack run, take us above them so all weapons can fire on their command bridge. Order all remaining fighters to focus their attack runs on their engines."
Only seven of the Vosigi's X-wings have survived thusfar, skill, luck, or a combination of both enabling them to weave through enemy fire and evade the Vic II's TIEs so that they can fire laser cannons and proton torpedoes at the enemy ship's engines."Are you sure you want to come along with us to the ground Berdine? We'll have need of a healer up here just as much as we will down there." Looking at Arduino almost as though he has insulted her even though she knows that was not his intent, Berdine shakes her head and assures him, "I could do nothing more than tend to the wounded and dying on Dantooine, I have a chance here to do more than just that, and I mean to take it." Remembering her anger upon learning of the slaughter of the Jedi who had been at the Enclave on Dantooine, Berdine furrows her brows as it occurs to her that what she seeks is not merely to help defend Rendili in a more active way than healing those who do so in her stead. It goes against all she has been taught to believe, to feel and cultivate within herself so that she does not become that which she fights, but Berdine cannot deny that vengeance may lay at the heart of her desire to join Arduino and Master Jyotish on the ground. Taking a deep breath, Berdine tells herself that she can master her desire; the impetus to give in to a thirst to take an eye for an eye does not damn one to fall prey to anger and grief, and she believes that knowing that the danger is present will enable to keep from falling prey to it.
Master Jyotish, motioning for Arduino and Berdine to board the transport that will be taking them to the surface, attempts to lighten the mood with humor, joking in a theatrically hurt tone, "I notice neither of you is particularly concerned about my safety. Clapping Berdine on the back companionably, meeting her eyes as he senses some of the feelings she is struggling with, easy when the sentiments are ones he shares and understands all too well, the Zabrak says more soberly, We're here to defend, not to repay the First Order for Dantooine, glancing towards Arduino to include him in the not so subtle reminder of what they must hold to if they are not to court the fate awaiting those who give in to anger, Hold true to that, don't forget who and what we are." So very easy to say, Jyotish tells himself, far harder to do, especially in war.

Looking more like one of the Alliance troopers than a Jedi, having added a borrowed tactical scarf, vest, a sidearm, and a blaster rifle to the mechanic's coverall she had worn while undercover on Agamar, Vashity clips her lightsaber hilt, assembled once more now that there is no need to conceal it, to the left side of her holster belt as she jogs towards the transport she spots the trio of Jedi from Dantooine boarding. Even if she were in the habit of carting around the whole hooded robe and tunic quasi-uniform many Jedi favor, Vashity would be more comfortable in her current attire given what they are headed into, and has come to choose her attire based on how well it blends in with the company she will be keeping from force of habit.
"Got room for one more? Vashity asks, not waiting for an answer as she simply climbs up into the transport's main cabin along with them and the Alliance troops they are accompanying. The Dantooine Three seem like a pretty tight bunch, grim and understandably a bit mopey and emo', but Vashity admires their gusto. It can't be easy to sign on for more of the same after going through an invasion where the odds are heavily in the other guy's favor, but here they all anyway. Morose Jedi are not likely to be the most inspiring sight for the Alliance troops they are accompanying, and so Vashity decides to do what she can about that. Grinning a lop-sided, cocky, cheerful grin as the sounds of starfighters, troop transports, and the deck crew hurrying about to make sure all the ships prepping to launch are as ready as they can be all mingle with the steady thumping sounds of the carrier's big guns firing, Vashity says, I don't know about ya'all, but I can't wait to get away from all of this karkin' noise. Crinkling her nose like it only just occurs to her that things are probably only going to get louder once they are on the ground, Vashity says slowly, Ohhhh, wait, before grinning again and rapping her fist on the hull as she calls out to their pilot, We're all in back here, let's go already! Don't want to keep the Plastic Boys down there waiting, do we?"

Rendili StarDrive Shipyards
Having been in enough naval conflicts that he is unnerved by neither the unexpected nor the inevitable moments when a battle progressing predictably and in as orderly fashion as any engagement can be said to be either predictable or orderly devolves into complete and utter chaos, Captain Hirsh knows that the best thing to do when things begin to come loose, is to calmly pick up a hammer and pick a place to begin shoring things before the chaos becomes so great that there is no hope of the center holding. The blood-dimmed tide has been loosed, to be certain, but it may yet be held at bay.
The helmsman of the Heilwig, acting on the standing order he had been given to keep their Vindicator-class cruiser above and to port of the enemy battlegroup, glances at Hirsh when the smaller corvettes break away from the Hammerhead-class cruiser, uncertain as to which he should be concerned with now. Hirsh, steadying himself as the enemy fire rakes his ship, says evenly, "Stay above and to port of the cruiser, to deny, as much as possible, the enemy's lead ship from achieving its objective of coming straight at the Heilwig as it appears intent on doing. Acknowledging his XO's damage report with a terse nod of his head, Hirsh orders his gunners, Focus all starboard ion cannons and follow with all turbolasers on their bow. All point-defense laser cannons go weapons free, focusing on the enemy fighters." The cruiser may be attempting to present a smaller target, but it's position only denies it the strength of port or starboard weapons barrages, while enabling any successful weapons strikes to pass through its longest axis, increasing the potential of suffering more damage, at least in as much as their respective maneuvering maintains their respective desired positions.
As his weapons continue firing, Hirsh glances at his boards to review the damage his vessel, now also, it is soon apparent as the station's initial volley of fire impacts against their shields, under fire from the Siren's Call, has sustained so far. Two of his quads were lost when directed ion fire from the enemy made them vulnerable to the turbolaser fire that came quickly on the heels of the ion fire, and his remaining overall shields have naturally decreased as enemy fire and recalibrations drain them, but are holding well for now. The enemy has pulled a claw or two from their paw, but Hirsh has more with which to rake at the enemy in the hope of making them turn tail and run or suffer the consequences. Setting the matter of the station aside for the moment once an encoded transmission from Admiral Sauer offers a ray of hope to Hirsh and his crew, and trusting his XO to have ordered engineering to send fire and rescue teams to any areas damaged when the quads were lost and in need of them, Hirsh stands to get a better view of the holographic projection of the battle's progress, wincing inside every time he sees one of the tiny electronic blips representing one of his fighters wink out, the knowledge that one of his pilots has perished along with the little light representing his or her TIE never resting easy in Hirsh no matter how many times he has witnessed such lights wink out knowing that his command sent the pilot out.
The Heilwig's TIE/IN pilots, breaking from cruise formation when the enemy fighters close and engage, are not all as fortunate at the enemy pilots in terms of experience; the vagaries of war necessitating that veteran pilots that fall in battle sometime need to be replaced with newer, less experienced members of the First Order, nor do they believe in the righteousness of their cause any less than the enemy does theirs, and fight with no less conviction no matter whether they are veterans of many battles or fighting in their first non simulated conflict. Those TIEs that survive the initial encounter with the enemy starfighters reform into finger four or, in some instances, trio formations, and valiantly maneuver on to make attack runs on the Hammerhead-class cruiser, two finger-four formations focusing their attacks on the crusier's engines while a third makes a run along its starboard side while targeting its weapons emplacements. The two trios of TIEs hang back to provide cover for their fellow pilots making the attack runs.
The captain of the Wibeke utters a surprised curse when the impact of the concussion missiles, seeming at first to have come from nowhere, against his shields nearly throws him from his command chair, and blinks in confusion as it is immediately followed by a spattering of turbolaser fire against the bridge shielding. His confusion persists only as long as his sensor officer, sounding more panicky than the captain likes, calls out that an unknown vessel, now cloaked, had been responsible for the attacks. Ordering his dorsal and ventral quad laser canons to begin traversing and searching fire along the cloaked ship's last known trajectory, with port and starboard weapons standing by to direct fire on the enemy should the tactic succeed in revealing the enemy ship's position. It is a long shot, but the captain accepts the risk, adding the additional order that his tractor beam officers standby to try and capture the ship should it next appear in a position enabling them to do so, the Wibeke's captain then orders his helmsman to increase speed and continue on for the main docking bay of the shipyards in as erratic a pattern as possible to make a second attack run more difficult.
As the Wibeke begins to maneuver, the sensor officer announces that there are new contacts, multiple starfighters launched from the Siren's Call which has begun to fire on the Heilwig, approaching from their starboard. Glancing at the distance remaining to the docking bay they are bound for, the captain estimates that they should not need to worry about the fighters for the moment. Mere moments from the docking bay, the Wibeke will soon be too near the shipyards for the starfighters to press their attack without risking damage to the yards or injury to the personnel within them. Once the Stormtroopers have been deployed, and the Wibeke moves away from the shipyards to assist the Heilwig is something that they will have to worry about when the time comes, especially when their aggressor with the cloak is factored into the increasingly frustrating equation. The Stormtroopers preparing to deploy when the Wibeke reaches the shipyards, some equipped with ballistic shields used by the First Order's riot control troopers given that the situation they anticipate deploying into is one where the shields could very well come in handy, standby to disembark once the ship, its shields damaged but still holding for now, is in position to enable them to do so.
Over Edethor
Ishild's initial reaction when a second hostile fleet appears over Rendili is to wonder where the leak in operational security came from; one surprise fleet might be passed off as luck, but the second suggests a failure in information containment of one kind or another somewhere, or that the First Order's enemies have an intelligence network to be admired. The threat presented by the arrival of the new hostile fleet, having chosen a somewhat antiquated line of battle formation that makes the fleet's intentions known no matter how outdated the method requires that Ishild set the matters of how and why it has arrived aside.
Eerily calm, as much because it is in her nature to remain so as it is because her position all but demands that she be, Ishild begins issuing orders even as the enemy fleet's opening salvo begins to land. The enemy fleet's opening tactic suggests to Ishild that their commander is one that views naval conflict not unlike a street fight, where one immediately begins throwing everything they can at their opponents in hopes of a lucky blow ending the conflict quickly. Ishild herself has always thought in more surgical terms, remove the greatest threat first, and then focus on the less immediate threats until none remain.
"Helm, turn to port, Ishild says with an unconcerned glance at her boards to see the effect of the enemy fire on her Nebula-class Star Destroyer's shields, unsurprised to see that some damage to her hull, confined largely to non-critical areas, was sustained when the ion fire made openings in her shields allowing turbolaser fire to impact the Kunigunde. Shields are down a small percentage as well, but not so much so that it is of any immediate concern. All starboard ion and heavy turbolasers target that MC90 and open fire when locked, continue to do so until otherwise ordered. Starboard turbolasers standby to lay down a field of fire towards any starfighters that launch."
As the Kunigunde begins its turn, Ishild orders her TIEs to form up and assume cruise formation to maneuver for the MC90 and focus their attacks on its engines, and then has an encoded transmission sent to the Renate and Mette, the Vindicator-class cruisers accompanying her vessel, to deploy boarding parties towards the defense station that has remained silent thus far, and then to begin maneuvering into positions to attack the MC90 from its port and starboard sides. A second transmission is sent to Captain Roth, over Rendili's southern hemisphere, ordering her and the Elke to begun maneuvering for the shipyards to assist Hirsh with his own unexpected problems.
Standing with her gloved hands clasped behind her back, Ishild takes a deep breath and, as the sound of her weapons firing begins, waits for the next movement in the battle to begin.
Over Northern Hemisphere
As admirable as Captain Lorenz finds the Vosigi's tenacity, the smaller vessel continuing to nip at his Victory-II class Star Destroyer like a spastic Kowakian monkey-lizard with no regard for its own safety, he has little desire to allow the Rendili defense fleet ship's antics to continue.
Frowning as he sees that all of the corvette and its fighters nipping has caused more dip in the shields over his engines that he is pleased to see, Lorenz says, "Have our TIEs regroup and maneuver to focus on mopping up the last of the enemy fighters, and then reaches up to straighten the peak of his cap as he says, Helm, angle our starboard up to bring all starboard weapons to bear on their bow as they make their next attack, not having failed to note that the Vosigi is coming about intent on doing some more nipping. Fire on my mark, Lorenz says, raising a hand into the air as he waits for the Vosigi to come about and present its bow to his gunners. Lowering his hand when the moment arrives, the Vosigi firing what he hopes will be its last salvo, Lorenz barks, Fire!"

Captain Cherney strokes his bearded chin pensively as he scans the damage reports that begin coming in from different areas of his MC90 Star Cruiser, the Maebh, as the fleet under his command begins to move into the positions they had planned to once their combined first attack had been completed. The Maebh's shields bore the brunt of the Nebula-class Star Destroyer's answering attack, focused solely on the Maebh, and have fallen to 84% efficiency. The ion fire, before shields could be restored or rerouted to the areas where it wreaked havoc on the Maebh's shielding, enabled laser fire to damage two tractor beam projectors, a heavy turbolaser battery, as well as to damage a few areas along the hull.
"Launch our starfighters, Cherney says, Have the Larties standby for launch once the fighters have been deployed. The Maebh's hangar currently, in light of its role in this mission being that of troop carrier, is currently full of LAAT/i's, with only a single squadron of 20 starfighters who will provide security for the gunships as they head for the Rendili's surface. Fire another broadside, ion followed by turbolaser, at that Nebula-class, and have proton torpedo launchers target those Vindicators heading our way."
As the 20 B-wing fighters begin to launch from the Maebh's hangars, Arduino holds his hands up as though surrendering when Berdine makes it abundantly clear that she has no doubts about where it is she wants to be for this engagement with the First Order. "Just making conversation, Arduino jokes to try and undo any harm his question may have caused, and then nods towards Jyotish after the Zabrak Jedi Master has dispensed a bit of wisdom, rolling his eyes in mock exasperation as he tells Berdine in a matching exasperated tone, Wise words, let's all try and heed them, shall we?" Clasping Jyotish's shoulder to make it clear that, playful banter aside, he has understood the warning, Arduino does his best to set his lingering anger and grief from what transpired on Dantooine, the sense of loss that remains in the wake of losing so many fellow Jedi when the Enclave was completely destroyed.
"I think we can find someplace to fit you, Arduino tells Vashity when the Jedi Investigator joins them, smiling as her efforts to rally the Alliance troopers waiting for the LAAT to launch are met with a few cheers that are followed by a bit of back thumping here or spirited banter there. Well done, Arduino tells Vashity with a wink, and then asks, Any idea how large a ground force the First Order has with them?"
The Gladiator-class Star Destroyer and MC40a move into positions above and in front of the Maebh as the B-wings launch, facing towards the Nebula and firing all forward weapons towards the enemy ship as they both launch their A-wing starfighter squadrons to engage the enemy starfighters. The MC30 frigates move to intercept the enemy Vindicators, turning to face the enemy ships and firing all forward weapons, each with a pair of Carrack-class light cruisers, also firing their forward weapons at the enemy ships, moving into positions to support them.

The two trios of TIEs hang back to provide cover for their fellow pilots making the attack runs. Nakor stood aboard the bridge of the Hammerhead Cruiser feeling every tremor from the enemies laserbolts - he knew his ship was old, his weapons outdated - but the hull had been forged with a singular purpose even beyond the advanced shielding that they had installed upon taking the ship years ago. He noticed the fighters break away from the dogfight his own men were attempting to entrap them in - that is where his fighters would have won the day. He noticed the TIEs move towards his flank with his own fighters giving chase - the Aureks engaging with the trio groups that held back to defend the flight as they made their strafing run against the cruisers flank, the TwinTail's slower and still having to dodge the turbolaser fire from the enemy ship following slowly behind. Another shake from the laser fire - alerts going throughout the ship even while his pointdefense systems returned fire.
The Vettes accelerated past fighter lines making their break for the Vindicator's shield array themselves forming a V as the moved through empty space taking fire from the enemy ship the entire way. Their shield frequencies modulated to deflect the larger laser bolts from the turbolasers they juggled the brunt of the attack back and forth as they weaved among themselves each one take a turn at the point of the V their shielding taking the brunt for all three of the vettes. Finally within range they let loose against the Vindicators shield generator unloading everything they had before turning take and diverting all power to the engines to make a quick escape - their own shields even with the juggling taking a beating for their effort - hopefully it would have been enough, the third vette was already set to limping having taking the main focus of fire for too long, now being protected by the other two which seemed to be flying in perfect tandem with one another.
Nakor gave the order to put all power into the sublight engines and the crusier jumped forward closing the distance quickly between itself and the Vindicator..."Evacuate the Hammer - seal off the lower decks and polarize the hull plating - helm... ramming speed."Lucian could feel the anxiety from Jez across the small bit of empty space between their two vettes, she was concerned about Maugrim its shielding had already fallen below minimal fighting regulation for them and three of the ships six sublight engines were blown to have pulled off their attack. It wouldn't survive another round like that even now as they shielded it during their retreat from the Vindicator. Lucian pulled up the intership comm and passed an order for Maugrimto break away from the action and move towards the StarDrive port hangerbay - they would accompany it until it was halfway there then turn and reenter the fight. Checking the holo of the battle he noticed the fighters had once more caught up with the TIEs that were hounding the larger cruiser that outwardly seemed to barely notice their presence, but he knew more than most - fighters couldn't be ignored for long. As the fighters continued to taunt the TIEs into a proper dog fight the Cruisers sublight engines sprang to life and the large ship lurched forward towards the vindicator."Jez we have to go... Nakor is going to Ram them and we have to be there - Maugrim proceed to port hanger and get in contact with Altair, best of luck!"With that the two vettes peeled away from the limping hammerhead and turned back towards the battle - all power to the sublight engines headed straight for the fighter line.Rendili StarDrive Shipyards

The twin pilots knew they were not going to be able to keep the ship from docking - but they were not going to let it get away afterward. Dropping the cloak the unleashed a full volley from every weapons system the Fury-Class Interceptor had available its main purpose now to leave the Assassin-class drifting - perhaps even to destroy it knowing it would be vulnerable when it stopped to disembark its load of soldiers - they would be Altair's problem now.* Calling out to his men as he lifts his DC-17 hand blaster into the air, standard issue for the members of the security force maintained by the shipyards, Gervasio says, Danger is getting close lads, look sharp! Let's make the schutta pay for every inch they advance!"
Haggard yet determined cheers greet Gervasio's attempt to be motivational, followed by a tense silence as he and his men take up their positions behind the barricades they have hastily erected to deter the advance of the enemy into the shipyards. StarDrive Main Hanger Bay*Altair made a quick hand signal as the commander gave a short pep talk to his men and the ARC team quickly began to fan out amid the various bits of cover surrounding the HangerBay - all save Fuze who took off at a sprint towards the center of the hanger bay floor where the Assassin-Class would have to land to disembark their men. Dropping to his knees with a slide he unbuckled his pack and pulled out a series of small charges which he scattered carefully around the area then a singular and much larger charge in the center of the smaller ones. Pressing a series of buttons upon the larger charge he slipped the now empty pack over it to cover its more obvious presence and moved back to the fire line just as the Assassin-Class Vette moved into view. Fuze gave a thumbs up to Altair who passed another series of signals along the spread out line of men. Fuze did not stop to join the fire line however, and continued to move towards the rear of the hanger bay - disappearing through the main exit of the Bay into the corridors beyond and out of sight. Altair pulled his disruptor from its holster with a bit of a flourish and tapped the button at the side of his helm causing the apparatus to spring to life covering his face and neck once again with the paper thin metallic mask - the red in the ocular sensors springing to life as he turned to raise his weapon towards the open hanger.*"D'lyse... Rendili StarDrive Shipyards"Evacuate the Hammer - seal off the lower decks and polarize the hull plating - helm... ramming speed." Watching, as though trapped in a dream from which he cannot wake and in which nothing one does averts an onrushing disaster that at first seemed avoidable, with increasing incredulity as the enemy Hammerhead cruiser inexorably comes on and on, ever closer to his Vindicator-class cruiser, withstanding barrage after barrage of fire from the Heilwig's starboard weapons, until it manages at last to not only survive the fire it doggedly turned into and then remained in as it relentlessly pursued its goal to ram the Heilwig despite the Vindicator's helmsman's efforts to keep the ship beneath it and to port as ordered, but to succeed in its aim as well, Captain Hirsh does what he can to try and minimize the damage of the outcome it would appear that one of the authors of the fates of the universe's denizens has decided is preordained.
"Maintain current up angle, ahead full, Hirsh barks, hoping that the Hammerhead will simply pass harmlessly beneath their starboard side, All port weapons prepare to fire on their engines."
In a perfect universe, the Heilwig, having been maneuvering to keep the fortune favored, resilient and resolute Hammerhead beneath and to starboard all the while, would succeed in dodging the Hammerhead as artfully as a Kaleesh matador eluding the charge of a Mumuu, but Hirsh and his crew, as though cursed, cannot escape the fate which has apparently been writ for them. There is a brief moment when it seems as though the up angle of the Heilwig will enable them to narrowly evade the Hammerhead, but the upper half of the cruiser's uniquely shaped bow slams into and proceeds to plow through the Heilwig's stern just ahead of her engines, the fire from the enemy Vettes, meeting with far more success than the Heilwig's own, successfully disabling their shield generator prior to the Hammerhead's successful ramming attempt as though that too was preordained and incontrovertible. The Heilwig's up angle and forward momentum, lessened though it may have been by the impact of the Hammerhead, prevents the enemy cruiser from becoming lodged in the Vindicator's stern, but does result in the loss of three of the Heilwig's engines when the resultant explosions tear them, along with a fair sized portion of her stern hull ahead of the engines, free.
As alarms bray, the red hued emergency lighting illuminating the Heilwig's bridge, filled with the sounds of the chaotic damage and casualty reports pouring, Hirsh, even as he and his bridge crew recover from being tossed about by the impact of the Hammerhead, shouts, "All portside turbolaser and ion cannons fire on that crusier's engines! Point-defense laser cannons continue firing on the enemy starfighters! Helm, slow to one third, bank to port and keep them off to our port!"
Debris trailing from her wounded flank like the blood of some battered behemoth swimming in a sea of stars, the Heilwig fights on, her surviving TIE pilots, for some have perished in the battle as they fell to fire from the Hammerhead or from enemy starfighters, continuing to ignore the enemy fighters attempts to draw them into dogfights as they valiantly press on with their attacks on the Hammerhead's engines despite the increasingly disheartening lack of discernible results of their efforts thus far. *Altair made a quick hand signal as the commander gave a short pep talk to his men and the ARC team quickly began to fan out amid the various bits of cover surrounding the HangerBay - all save Fuze who took off at a sprint towards the center of the hanger bay floor where the Assassin-Class would have to land to disembark their men. Fuze did not stop to join the fire line however, and continued to move towards the rear of the hanger bay - disappearing through the main exit of the Bay into the corridors beyond and out of sight.* The captain of the Wibeke and his bridge crew are killed when the Star Razer, apparently every bit as fortune favored as their comrades aboard the Gadriel'Alora'lya, makes their next attack run, which, when combined with the attacks from the Siren's Call, causes the Assassin-class corvette's shields to give up the ghost, allowing the enemy fire to tear into its bridge and dorsal hull just before it reaches the main hangar bay.
The Wibeke, headless and afire in many places, gracelessly crash lands in the hangar bay, the smoking ruin of the bow section coming loose and rolling over the area where Fuze's charges had been set, perhaps setting them off prematurely, perhaps not. The Wibeke's stern, coming to a halt after sliding drunkenly across the hangar deck off to the portside of the ruins of the bow and smashing into the far wall of the hangar bay, shows signs of heavy damage, though not so heavy that all hands aboard were necessarily lost, and indeed there are soon sounds of movement to be heard coming from with the remains of the corvette, some the moans and cries of the wounded and dying, others the more ominous resolved barking of orders being called out . . . Ishild orders the Kunigunde's starboard ion and heavy turbolasers to continue firing on the MC90, with all turbolasers to begin firing on the B-wings that the Star Cruiser launches. The Kunigunde's TIEs, breaking from cruise formation as they come into attack range, break into finger four formations and begin making attack runs on the MC90's engines, weaving though enemy fire and starfighters alike as they pursue their goal of hindering or eliminating the crusier's ability to maneuver.
The Renate, after deploying a pair of Lambda-class shuttles carrying twenty Stormtroopers each that begin moving for the space platform over Edethor, opening fire on the Carrak-class light cruisers escorting the MC30 frigate that has begun to maneuver on a course making it clear that it intends to engage them, begins moving to starboard of the enemy formation so that it can bring all of its starboard weapons to bear on the battlegroup. As the Renate closes on the enemy ships, her TIEs break into two groups, one that focuses on defending the Vindicator from the enemy A-wings while the other engages the MC30, the pilots focusing their efforts on the enemy's shield generator.
The Mette, having deployed its own pair of Lambda-class shuttles intent on storming the space platform, begins maneuvering to bring it over the enemy MC30 that has moved to engage it in battle, beginning to fire all of its forward weapons towards the MC30's bow. The TIEs accompanying the Mette, breaking into two attack formations as the enemy battlegroup nears, begin attacking the engines of the light cruisers that accompany the MC30.

The Victory II-class Star Destroyer, the Adaleiz, along with the Vindicator-class cruiser, the Elke, recall their surviving TIE/INs prior to beginning to make for Rendili StarDrive's shipyards. As the Adaleiz and Elke get underway, their hangar crews begin to repair, refuel and rearm the TIEs so that they are prepared to go once more into battle once they reach the shipyards.

Alliance Captain Merodach Cherney drums the callused fingers of his left hand on the arm of his command chair as enemy fire splashes against his MC90 Star Cruiser's shields, glancing from the holotable over which the ships involved in the battle over Rendili are displayed to watch the changes unfolding before he looks at the readouts of his ship's shields status to keep apprised of the damage being sustained as he holds his current position long enough to enable the transports carrying the Alliance troops and Jedi to the planet's surface. "Fire another broadside, ion then turbolaser, for the Nebula, Cherney calls out, determining that the time is nearing to stop giving the First Order a stationary target, Launch proton torpedoes at the bows of the Vindicators, and then bring us about, all forward weapons prepare to begin firing on their engines. Helm, bring us on course to move for the Nebula's stern," Cherney concludes. The Nebula's present position, turned to bring starboard weapons to bear on the Maebh, will make it an easy enough target for his weapons to hit, and bringing the Maebh about will give them a smaller target.
As the enemy TIEs close and begin their attacks, the Maebh's 20 B-wings engage only those fighters that attempt to attack the LAAT/is that begin to streak from the MC90's hangars to make for Rendili's surface.
The MC40a and Gladiator-class Star Destroyer that assumed positions above and in front of the Maebh focus their efforts, for now, on the enemy TIEs attacking the Star Cruiser. The Gladiator-class Destroyer fires concussion missiles towards the enemy fighters while they approach, switching to point-defense laser batteries when they have come into attack range. The MC40a, after firing its own concussion missile barrage, supports the Gladiator's efforts to deter or destroy the TIEs by employing its turbolaser turrets. A-wings from both ships, fighting in trios, hunt for the TIEs that prove skilled or lucky enough to survive the approach to attack range.
The MC30c frigate that has engaged the Renate launches cluster bombs as the enemy TIEs come into attack range, obligingly allowing the Renate to move along its starboard side so that it can fire a broadside on the Vindicator, heavy proton torpedoes accompanied by turbolaser fire. Knowing its armor and shields, taking light damage from the enemy as they begin their duel, will not stand up long under sustained attack from the Vindicator, the MC30c's engines open to full once the broadside has been fired, endeavoring to pass the enemy ship and then begin moving to come on it's tail. The Carrack-class light cruisers accompanying the MC30c supports the efforts of the A-wing squadron as they battle the enemy TIEs that survive the cluster bomb attack.
The second MC30c, engaging the Mette, maneuvers to keep the enemy in their port-side line of fire after taking several hits from the enemy as it comes into effective weapons range and opens fire. Launching cluster bombs as the TIEs approach, and sending a broadside for the Vindicator's bow, the MC30c then begins moving to come onto the enemy vessel's starboard side. Spotting the shuttles and fighters that have begun making their way towards Rendili's defense platform, ominously silent so far despite the battle that has begun, the MC30c's captain orders one of the Carrack-class cruisers accompanying his ship to pursue the enemy ships, tasking a trio of A-wings to follow and support the Carrack. The Carrack remaining with the MC30c defends it from the enemy TIEs, using its speed and heavy armament to full advantage as it endeavors to thwart any attacks on the frigate's engines.

Over Northern Hemisphere
"Have our TIEs regroup and maneuver to focus on mopping up the last of the enemy fighters, and then reaches up to straighten the peak of his cap as he says, Helm, angle our starboard up to bring all starboard weapons to bear on their bow as they make their next attack, not having failed to note that the Vosigi is coming about intent on doing some more nipping. Fire on my mark, Lorenz says, raising a hand into the air as he waits for the Vosigi to come about and present its bow to his gunners. Lowering his hand when the moment arrives, the Vosigi firing what he hopes will be its last salvo, Lorenz barks, Fire!" As the Vosigi fires all forward weapons at the enemy Star Destroyer, the answering barrage the First Order ship fires from it's starboard weapons lances out for the smaller Rendili Defense Force ship's bow. The Vosigi's captain holds fast to the arms of his command seat as the enemy fire begins to impact his shields and, when they are depleted, then the hull of his ship, tearing the upper hull apart in multiple areas aft of the bridge.
Smoke and red emergency lighting giving the bridge a hellish appearance as the Vosigi's captain stands from his chair once they have passed over the Star Destroyer, one arm holding fast to the back of the seat to keep the death tremors shuddering through his ship, knows that there is nowhere to run or hide, and that there are only moments remaining to him and his crew. His starfighter pilots have all perished, leaving the Vosigi alone against its larger, more powerful foe. Wanting to go down fighting, futile as he knows the gesture will be in the end, he says, "Hard to port! All port-side weapons prepare to fire!" Moments later, when the Star Destroyer responds in kind, the Vosigi is rent asunder, captain and crew added to the day's ever longer butcher's bill. Over Edethor - Bravos-II heavy duty military space platform, The GuardianCaptain Marik Barul, in command of the skeleton crew of men manning the Guardian does not think of himself as a foolish or lazy Duros, but as his men move to assume battle stations with a pronounced lack of coordination and confidence that regular drills and training exercises may have prevented from fermenting within their ranks, is forced to admit that he may have allowed complacency to lead him further down the path to becoming a lazy fool than he would like.
Precious moments are lost as the Guardian's crew get to battle stations and bring systems grown unfamiliar from disuse online as they prepare to help repel the invading force that, by the time they are battle ready, has already destroyed the Kohar and the Azniv, leaving an unknown and fortunately friendly fleet of ships to stand against the First Order's invasion force.
Spotting the First Order shuttles and TIE fighters approaching the platform, Marik orders his lone X-wing squadron to launch and engage the TIE fighters and shuttles, and then instructs his anti-fighter turbolaser cannons to prepare to fire on the enemy ships when they are in range. With only the minimal crew needed to keep the platform operational, the cannons and other weapons will not be able to set a quick pace of fire, and their lack of practice and discipline will further hinder their performance initially, but training and instincts will soon come into play and allow Marik's men to operate with increasing efficiency. Near Rendili StarDrive Shipyards - Bravos-II heavy duty military space platform, The Siren's Call
Captain Murali Jha, commanding the skeleton crew manning the Siren's Call, feels a surge of hope when the tide of the battle appears to turn against the invading First Order force, their Vindicator damaged in it's battle with the Hammerhead cruiser Murali assumes leads the small fleet that had arrived shortly after the First Order's invasion began, and the Assassin-class corvette seeming to crash into the shipyard's landing bay after being attacked by what Murali believes was a cloak-enabled ship associated with the Hammerhead cruiser.
"Check your fire," Murali says to his gunners as he watches his boards to keep track of the battle, as yet somewhat distant from his platform, not wanting his gunners to hit any of the friendly ships as they continue steadily firing turbolasers at the Vindicator. The Wibeke, headless and afire in many places, gracelessly crash lands in the hangar bay, the smoking ruin of the bow section coming loose and rolling over . . . The Wibeke's stern, coming to a halt after sliding drunkenly across the hangar deck off to the portside of the ruins of the bow and smashing into the far wall of the hangar bay, shows signs of heavy damage, though not so heavy that all hands aboard were necessarily lost . . . The unexpectedly violent and uncontrolled arrival of the First Order corvette so sudden that Gervasio and his men had only a moment to act when it was apparent that the ship was going to crash rather than set down, and not all were able to act quickly enough when, having crashed, the ship then broke apart and tumbled in pieces, some of which went flying through the landing bay like deadly pieces of shrapnel.
Two of Gervasio's men, manning the barricade nearest to where the wreckage of the corvette's stern comes to rest, are killed by flaming pieces of the ship, and a third stationed at a barricade near to where the ruins of the corvette's bow eventually settle is badly wounded when a large, wickedly curved piece of shrapnel embeds itself in his leg.
A glance at what is left of the corvette's bow is all it takes for Gervasio to know that no one survived in that section, and so he motions towards the smoking, flame-riddled stern section that survived the crash landing more or less intact to signal the three remaining men nearest to the wreckage to search for any exit points and watch over them when found. As the three security force members lift their weapons and, covering one another, begin searching for any signs of movement from the enemy troops they can hear beginning to move around inside the wreckage, Gervasio signals other members of his team who are not in positions to cover the enemy wreckage to move for positions that do, and then joins his men as, from a barricade with line of sight on the three men nearest the wreckage, he prepares to fire on any enemy troops that emerge from the wreckage. As the enemy TIEs close and begin their attacks, the Maebh's 20 B-wings engage only those fighters that attempt to attack the LAAT/is that begin to streak from the MC90's hangars to make for Rendili's surface. Reaching for one of the handles hanging from the main cabin's ceiling as the gunship she has boarded lifts off and then rockets out of the hangar bay, Berdine closes her eyes and, knowing that her life, along with those of all within the gunship, is now in the hands of their pilot and the Force, trying to take what comfort she can from the thought rather than dwelling on the fact that it may be the will of the Force that the gunship and its passengers do not reach their destination.
Keeping her eyes closed as enemy fire slams into the gunship's shields, causing it to rock and sway in addition to juke or dive or roll to the laser bolts flying all around, Berdine tightens her grip on the handle, trying to ignore the nausea the gunship's movement is causing her, and keeps her eyes closed the entire time the gunship is making its way to Rendili's surface.

Above Rendilli StarDrives
Standing on the Bridge of the Hammerhead Nakor's eyes blinked and then to many things happened at once - everything sprung forward as it was like to do in the heat of battle - and he had lost track of things, nothing went as it should. The impact, though he had been ready for it, still knocked him from his feet and sent him flying into the command chair with a very large THUD and no small grunt of pain from him as he ordered himself in time to watch the prow of the Cruiser tear into the much larger ship carving a swath into the side of the Vindicator.Alarms began to sound on all decks - the front end of the ship was badly damaged and as a result of the impact there was cascade power failure on multiple forward decks. The precautions that had been taken for the impact helped, but the ship was no longer functioning as the power fluctuations caused shipwide mayhem. Backup generators kicked in and life support and structural integrity kicked back in at once, followed closely by hull polarization and shielding however it was not fast enough - the enemy captain had taken full advantage of the impact and before even the tremors had settled from the impact the Vindicators broadside that hadn't been taken out by the impact broke upon the aft engines of the ship. The Ion cannon fire deactivated the hyperdrive and the sublight engines at once cutting the already tenuous power from the ships engine sector while the turbolaser fire cut through three of the ships six engines, leaving them minimal sublight on a single engine with the Hammerhead section of the ship now lodged firmly within the Vindicator's own hull.
"Pass the order..."Nakor hadn't expected the damage that had occurred, he had miscalculated the strength of the vindicators shields and even with them fluctuating from the Vettes bombing runs they had put up quite the fight. Gadriel'lora'lya was now dead in the air."...General Evac - Get the gunships ready for landing and have the soldiers depart immediately for the StarDrive's port hangerbay to meet up with the Maugrim. Have Jez and Lucian cover their retrea! Crew to the escape pods. Command crew - divert power to me - then see that my orders are followed before evacing yourselves in the last pod."
There was a tone in his voice that gave them no indication that he planned on leaving himself. Power had been diverted as he had commanded and now he had minimal control off all the ships systems from his Command station. As the backups took hold and the main power began to kick back on he was able to recover shields and in a few minutes he would have weapons back - then he would unleash hell upon the Bridge section of that Vindicator - the First Order would not take the last flagship of the Felucian Conclave without a bloodied face to show for it.Within the next twenty minutes the evacuation orders had been passed and the gunships were ready to depart from the main hangerbay. The remaining star fighters had been ordered to break their persuit of the enemy TIEs to support the landing craft and make their escape - they now were holding defensive formations around the fleeing landing craft heading slowly towards the StarDrives in the distance.
Aboard the Requiem Lucian watched in horror as their Flagship smashed against the Vindicator. He noticed the loss of power immediately and diverted all power to the engines. It wasn't long before he noticed the fighters break away from their attempts to engage the enemies flyboys - no doubt to cover the retreat of the landing craft Nakor would have ordered off the ship moments after impact had taken their power. He had crippled his own ship and the Vindicator was still battleready - currently tearing holes into the Cruisers engines. ~Come on... come on... fire back Nakor!~ he was distracted by the sight of the landing craft exiting the bottom of the Hammerhead their remaining fighters falling into escort positions.
Almost as one the two remaining Vettes banked into the groups of enemy fighters opening up with a full barrage of laser and missile fire - hoping to destroy as many as possible but also break them up and keep them busy giving the fighters and the slower landing craft time to escape the sinking Hammerhead Cruiser. Its power kicked back on eventually and Lucian smiled as he watched the Cruisers remaining missile and laser batteries fire solely upon the enemies bridge.
Rendilli StarDrives Main Hanger Bay
*Altair was rightly shocked when the Assassin-Class Vette made its own grande entrance through the shielding of the Hanger bay. The hastily laid charges that Fuze had put into place all fired prematurely at the impact of the ship with enough force to punch a hole into the side of the cruiser and no doubt cause no small amount of displease to anyone directly on the other side - but otherwise the explosions were harmless. Altair thought he caught a glimpse of the Star Razer do a flyby to check the kill and after a moment he received a comm ping - a message from Janos asking if they had survived. Altair took a quick inventory of his men - most of which were to far back to be effected by the crash - because they had given room for the prepped explosions to be used in their own defense - now gone. Stitch had to activate his own personal Energy shield to save him from some raining debris and even still he was knocked to his back - the shield and his heavy armor saving him from any real harm. He saw D'lyse and Liz next - stationed a little farther back with their rifles aimed towards the holes in the ship already firing a barrage of blaster fire into the burning hull of the Vette. he couldn't see anyone yet, maybe they were just strafing shots to keep the enemy off balance or perhaps they saw someone. Regardless he prepped himself for battle gripping his disruptor tightly in one hand, and a thermal detonator in the other, his eyes closing and he softly whispered something underneath the din of blaster fire and groaning durasteel.

Rendili StarDrive Shipyards
As his XO is responding to the damage and casualty reports continuing to pour in, sending medical and engineering teams to areas they might still be able to do some good while ordering sections beyond repair or so damaged that they pose a threat to adjacent areas to be sealed off, Captain Eilert Hirsch focuses his attention on directing the efforts of his helmsman and weapons crews as the battle against the enemy Hammerhead cruiser that, like the Heilwig, fights on valiantly despite the damage it has sustained.
"All remaining port-side turbolasers and quads continue firing on the Hammerhead cruiser's engines, Hirsh calls out, knuckles white as he grips the arms of his command chair while watching the holoprojected image of the battle, flickering unsteadily as the damage to his ship causes power fluctuations to systems his engineering crew has not yet repaired. Noting the enemy fighters breaking off to escort the landing craft exiting the enemy ship's ventral hangar, Hirsh says, Have our TIEs target the cruiser's engines and weapons, ignore the landing craft. The worry lines on his forehead deepening as he observes the enemy corvettes moving to engage his TIEs, Hirsh says, Point-defense ion and laser cannons, target those corvettes, try and keep them off our TIEs." The order comes too late for four of his TIEs, the laser and missile barrages from the corvettes destroying them as they attempted to engage the wounded Hammerhead cruiser as ordered.
Glancing away from the holoprojector when laser fire slams into the port-side of the bridge, causing blast shutters to hiss down over the viewports before they give way, the hull moaning and groaning almost like an animal in pain, Hirsh orders his crew to evacuate the bridge and begin moving to the auxiliary command center. Hirsh's order is not a moment too late, missile fire from the enemy cruiser destroying the upper half of the bridge mere seconds after Hirsh and the last of the bridge crew have evacuated it to move to the auxiliary command center.

Corporal Felicie Graf is almost certain that she is bleeding from her ears and nose beneath her helmet as, within the flaming wreckage of the Wibeke's shattered stern, she steadies herself after the crash landing and tries to make sense of the chaos surrounding her. Amidst the crackling of flames, sharp cracks of enemy fire, cries of the wounded and barking of orders, Felicie makes out a fellow Stormtrooper calling out her name and turns towards the noise.
The Sarge is dead! a panicked Private is screaming at her, and Feliice looks to where he is pointing, her thoughts still muddled as she tries to puzzle out why he has singled her out to notify of their Sergeant's death and looks to where the Sergeant, killed by blaster fire blindly or deliberately fired into the hull by the enemies outside in the hangar, has fallen. You're in charge now Graf, the Private, Menno Fuchs, his name comes to Felicie from the depths of her memory as she tilts her head to the side and finds herself hoping she has misunderstood him. Whaddawedo, whaddawedo, Fuchs is screaming at her inanely, doing little to help Felicie order her thoughts in anything remotely resembling a meaningful way, what the frak are your orders Graf?!
Shit, Felicie thinks, trying and failing to both come to grips with the fact that she is now in charge and to remember something, anything, from all of the studying she has been doing for the Sergeant's exam. The remains of the Wibeke a death trap she doesn't particularly feel like being caught and slaughtered in, Felice starts giving orders from pure instinct, sending three flametroopers equipped with D-93w flame projector guns out to lay down a field of deadly cover for her and what is left of her platoon after the crash to exit the ruins of the Wibeke. As the flametroopers head out, spraying flames in a semi-circle and then focusing on the enemies manning the nearest barricade to the wreckage, Felicie lifts her F-11D and leads the next fireteam out herself. Covering the team's right flank, Felicie fires on a member of the security team she spots taking aim on one of the flametroopers while the team's heavy weapons specialist, covering their six o'clock, sends covering fire with his FWMB-10 towards any enemies approaching or firing towards them from that area to cover their advance.
Approaching StarDrive Shipyards from behind The Siren's Call
The Victory II-class Star Destroyer, the Adaleiz, along with the Vindicator-class cruiser, the Elke, continue maneuvering at full ahead towards the Shipyards in response to Admiral Sauer's order to support the Heilwig. TIEs in the hangars of both ships, having been refueled, repaired and rearmed during the brief journey from Rendili's northern hemisphere, prepare to launch as the ship's captains begin to assess the scene that begins to become clear as they come into range for sensors to paint the picture of the battle's current state of affairs. . .
Over Edethor
Resting her chin atop the back of her right hand, Ishild taps a pale, angular cheek bone with her index finger as she looks from the displays of readouts from her shields, which are holding up well as yet against the enemy attacks, to watch the holoprojection of the battle's progress. Noting the MC90 beginning to maneuver for a clear line of fire on her engines, Ishild calmly orders her helmsman to counter the ploy, turning to keep the enemy ship to the Kunigunde's starboard until otherwise ordered so that her weapons can continue firing broadside after broadside for the enemy she has selected to focus on removing from the playing field first.
Frowning slightly as she notes that her TIEs are faring less well than she would like, the enemy fleet's commander apparently not as much a simple-minded brawler as she had first thought, Ishild winces as several of the Renate and Mette's TIEs are destroyed when the vessels they are attacking deploy cluster bombs. Ordering a barrage of assault concussion missile fire to be sent towards the enemy transports making for Rendili's surface, Ishild has her comms officer send an encrypted holonet message to the commander of her ground forces to warn him of the impending arrival of enemy troops.
The captain of the Renate, smiling grimly as the MC30c that had attacked his ship attempts to pass by and come about on their tail, orders his helmsman to turn to keep the enemy to their starboard side, intent on maintaining a line of fire that allows him to continue attacking the MC30c with all starboard weapons. The TIE pilots that survive the cluster bomb attack, supporting fire from the Carraks, and initial encounter with the A-wings, form up to make another attack run on the MC30c's shield generator.
The captain of the Mette, shifting from foot to foot while pulling his gloves on more tightly as he watches his TIEs getting chewed up by the enemies tactics, looks from readouts displaying the status of his shields, which are only minimally damaged thus far, to the projected image of the disposition of his and the enemy battlegroup's fighters and ships, and back again. Standing up straighter and tugging at the collar of his tunic, the Mette's captain says in a cool and collected tone that is at odds with his habitual fidgeting that is less an expression of concern or worry than compulsive behavior he has little power to control, "Keep firing on their bow. Have all remaining TIEs regroup and make an attack run on the Carrak that broke off to pursue our shuttles, targeting their engines, and then escort the shuttles on to the platform."
The Lambda-class shuttles that had been sent towards the space platform, alerted by their sensor operators of the danger approaching from their rear as well as their front, open up to ahead full, preparing to attempt to evade both the fighters sent from the platform as well as those sent along with the enemy Carrack.

Approaching StarDrive Shipyards from behind The Siren's Call
The Victory II-class Star Destroyer, the Adaleiz, along with the Vindicator-class cruiser, the Elke, continue maneuvering at full ahead towards the Shipyards in response to Admiral Sauer's order to support the Heilwig. . . Alerted to the approach of two vessels, interrogation of their transponders revealing easily enough that they are associated with the invading fleet, Captain Murali Jha, commanding the skeleton crew manning the Siren's Call, feels a chill go down his spine. A damaged and embattled Vindicator is a foe that might be beaten, but a Victory II and a second Vindicator, both appearing undamaged from what Murali's sensor operators are able to determine from their scans, are almost certainly beyond the capabilities of his platform to stand against, even with the help of the small friendly fleet that has been holding their own against the Vindicator which had arrived with the now destroyed Assassin-class.
The friendly cruiser and the hostile Vindicator it has been battling too close to one another now to make targeting the latter without risking damaging the former, Murali decides to have his gunners begin firing all weapons facing the approaching hostile ships, knowing the best they can most likely hope for is to slow their progress.StarDrive Shipyard Hangar
As the flametroopers head out, spraying flames in a semi-circle and then focusing on the enemies manning the nearest barricade to the wreckage, Felicie lifts her F-11D and leads the next fireteam out herself. The security force members manning the barricade nearest to where the wreckage of the First Order ship's stern comes to rest, having already lost two men in the immediate aftermath of the crash, are utterly unprepared for an attack from flamethrowers, and would have no way to defend themselves from it even had they considered the possibility that the First Order would not just bring blasters for their assault.
The last of the five remaining members of the team manning the barricade that falls first to the First Order, quick enough to get under cover as the jets of flame hissed forth to wash over the barricade, dies when, in a lull in the flamethrower attack, the sickly sweet smell of his torched teammates nearly making him gag, he stands from cover to fire on the Stormtroopers rushing for the barricade under the cover of the flames only to be killed by Felicie's blaster bolt when it hits him square between the eyes.
Gervasio, leading the men he assigned to join him in moving for a position flanking the Stormtroopers spilling out of the wreckage, drops to a knee as the staccato bursts from the Stormtrooper HWS fill the air with a lethal flurry of blaster bolts that kill three of his men before they find cover. Head tilting to the side, Gervasio takes aim at the backpack of the Flametrooper nearest to the barricade that is now unmanned, hoping to turn the trooper into bomb that will claim a few of the trooper's teammates along with them if his shot has the desired effect. Over Edethor - Bravos-II heavy duty military space platform, The GuardianThe Lambda-class shuttles that had been sent towards the space platform, alerted by their sensor operators of the danger approaching from their rear as well as their front, open up to ahead full, preparing to attempt to evade both the fighters sent from the platform as well as those sent along with the enemy Carrack. Captain Marik Barul, in command of the skeleton crew of men manning the Guardian, can only watch in dismay as the starfighters he had sent out to attack the inbound enemy shuttles are soon destroyed by the TIE fighters that had been sent to defend the shuttles.
The shuttles can only have one purpose for making their way towards the Guardian, to board and capture it, and so Marik begins preparing to make what he suspects will be a futile stand against the incoming forces. The already slow rate of fire the Guardian has managed to sustain on the invading ships near enough for its weapons to reach slows even more as some of the skeleton crew is reassigned from manning weapons to preparing to repel the enemy boarding party anticipated to arrive soon.

Cherney, lightly pounding his clenched fist on the arm of his command chair as, while he watches the large holoprojection of the battle's progress, a third and then a fourth LAAT are destroyed by missiles launched from the enemy flagship before they can reach Rendili's surface, stands and walks closer to the holoprojection as he begins calculating his next move. Only a few LAATs are still in range of the enemy ships' weapons, and as he believes that his starfighters have done all that can be done to increase their chances of making it to the planet's surface, Cherney orders them to regroup and begin attacking the enemy Nebula-class. With Alliance starfighters from the MC40a and Gladiator-class continuing to hunt the enemy TIEs harrying the Maebh, Cherney believes his starfighters should have at lr, east one attack run on the enemy flagship free from interference from the TIEs before the enemy fleet's commander adjusts the disposition of her forces. With the Nebula countering his attempt to get a shot at her engines, Cherney decides to try something a little different, ordering his helmsman to go ahead full and then bank and dive hard to port, intending to try and get beneath the Nebula so that his weapons crews can fire at her belly.
The MC30a engaged with the Renate, shields beginning to reach unsustainable damage levels as the enemy ship thwarts the Alliance helmsman's efforts to get their tail, suddenly drops speed from ahead full to ahead dead slow, turning hard so that their bow faces the enemy vessel and gives them a smaller target to aim at while all of its forward weapons begin firing a broadside at the enemy ship. The MC30a's starfighter squadron, having lost several pilots in the battle so far, continue to pursue the remaining enemy TIEs, keeping them from being able to focus on attacking the MC30a. One of the two Alliance Carracks assisting the A-wing sqaud, breaks away from the battle with the TIE fighters and maneuvers to make an attack run on the Renate's engines.
The second MC30a, engaged with the Mette, redirects shields from aft sections to forward when their bow is severely damaged by enemy fire after their forward shields give way . Keeping their bow facing the enemy ship, the MC30a continues firing at their bow while beginning to gradually bleed forward speed before firing reverse thrusters in a subtle attempt to lure the enemy ships back towards the Alliance's main battlegroup so that they can provide assistance with disabling or destroying the enemy ship. The Carrack remaining with the MC30a continues to seek and destroy enemy TIEs that try to close on the MC30a. The second Carrack, having sought to delay or deter the enemy ship's making for the defense station over Rendili, is destroyed by the enemy TIEs that broke away from the shuttle they had been escorting towards the defense platform.

Above Rendilli StarDrives
Nakor was fighting a war on two fronts now - having abandoned his command chair he had rerouted the entirety of the ships controls to the nav station and his fingers were flying across the control panel as he entered commands to attack the enemy fighters with the missile system - the cruisers bridge with the laser cannons - and as he fought to counteract the cascading system failure aboard his own ship. He was loosing systems one by one having already diverted all power from the failed engines to the shields - and even then the ion cannon barrage had nearly disabled his ship and the fighters - not having to worry about their six anymore were dedicated on crippling his weapons systems. Within moments his ship was left without weapons - without sublight engines - and with failing shields. The only thing still intact was the hyperdrive - but power had fallen to the point where he could not even sacrifice the ship and his own life to destroy the vindicator. He was out of moves...
Out the port viewport of the now disabled Hammerhead Cruiser the escape craft began making their way towards the StarDrives secondary hanger to meet up with the injured corvette - now covered by the remaining starfighters that without the cruiser had no means of escape from the system. Lucian and Jez - having been passed the order to protect the caravan from the enemy fighters fell back, with the Gadriel'lora'lya now off the grid, technically Lucian was now acting fleet commander - at least until Nakor was recovered and his first priority was the preservation of the crew - regardless his loyalty to Nakor he had a duty to the fleet, and their Jedi General had taught them well, and so he despite his desire to tear the vindicator from space piece by piece he fell back guarding the shuttles.
Redelli StarDrives Main Hanger
*It took Altair only a few moments to orient himself after the explosions had died down and the firefight for the main hanger began Running the numbers and his familiarity with a craft of that size he knew the ragged security force and his five men could be dealing with at least 50 soldiers - perhaps more if they liked each other a little to much for comfort. A passable number and one they could deal with easily, but it would require most of the attention and nearly all of their munitions and without hope of backup or relief he did not feel it was prudent to dedicate the lives of his command team towards the defense of this hanger. Their defenses had been stripped and even with cover they would only take three or four of the enemy for every one death among them - those were not odds that favored Altair in any fashion. Someone could get off a lucky shot to the grav-generator or the life support and they could all be dead within seconds in the vacuum of space. Not today.
Standing up he unleashed a barrage of low powered shots from his disruptor towards the crashed vette - and almost on cue his entire team raised from their positions to lay down a deadly barrage of cover fire as Altair quickly moved across the hanger to where Gervasio was currently flanking the troopers now solidifying their defenses. Time was running short.*
"Commander - the Hanger is lost. You should order your men to fall back. We've placed charges along the turbolifts and the main entrance to the hanger. Let them have the hanger and we can trap them here and set up a defense elsewhere... this Hanger is not worth your life!"
*The truth was Altair had not been expecting any of this - he had not come prepared for a full scale war, and now that he had led his men right into the middle of one, the only goal was to get out - and save as many lives as possible. Perhaps even cause a few problems for the First order along the way.
