Ever since she was appointed in the position of Umgul's Chief Financial Officer, Crystal had asked for some arrangements to be made in her office. Her office was located in one of the middle floors of the government building. A clear space, well organized and colors that matched her expectations. She always kept her workspace in order and there was never a single file lingering around on her desk. And if there was, it would be stocked up into pending files she had to deal with. Depending the urgency, it would be on top of the pile.
She always had a thing for landscape views hence why most of the time the blinds were pulled off, not that she needed those that much since the mist would block the sunlight the entire time and there was nothing much to see with that mist. But she still love the picture whenever she would turn on her seat to look out the window.
She did have one condition though, that was something to be located in a corner of her office. And that was a punching bag. Sometimes she needed to unwind and the punching bag helped her a lot to release the pressure from some of the taxing work she was dealing with.
Nobody except her could enter her office as the security clearances only answered to her fingerprint and her retina scan. Not to mention that the Senator had asked that two security guards had to be stationed all the time in front of her door as all of the Mist Government finances were kept in her office.

Crystal had been left alone with Andros in the turbolift after Lily had exited to get to her office. What Crystal loved about the Vice-Governor, she never needed to make small talks with him at all. He wasn't the type, and she wasn't the kind either, she didn't have to fill that awkward silence because bottom line? If she spoke to say random things, fact was, she might get onto the VG's nerves.
So silence it was...
That allowed Crystal to think about the events that had happened a moment ago, what had happened to Elika while she was away and it was a no brainer that she was going to be doing lunch back home with Lily. She, nevertheless, kept in mind to actually comm the Attorney General to let her know, provided that she or Lily didn't have an important task at hand.
Finally the turbolift reached Crystal's office floor and she inclined her head in Andros' direction with a genuine smile. He, after all, did thank her earlier even though it was unnecessary. Holding momentarily the turbolift's door so it wouldn't shut down, Crystal just looked at Andros with another smile. "It shall be done, sir, and don't mention it, just doing my job." Crystal replied before inclining her head and adding on as she removed her hand. Have a nice day, Andros."
Turning on her heels and making a straight line to her office door, she was greeted by the twin Chiss soldiers. Smiling at the both of them and greeting them back warmly, she processed herself to the security measures and got into her office. Dropping her coat onto the chair along with her bag, she took a deep breath and turned on her data terminal to check her messages and tweak a few things about that project that belonged to the VG.
One thing was puzzling her though, it had been a while since she saw the Senator, she wondered why he seemed to be hiding? Either way, she hadn't heard about him or anything he might have wanted to improve within the government, it seemed like she kept getting her orders from either Andros or Mace, at least lately. Perhaps it was because of her? She was so out of touch lately that she either spent her time here at the office or at home with Lily and her boyfriend. Atlantis didn't talk much about the going on in the planet itself, she respected that of course, but last she had heard, some of the Jedi were gone and they had no idea when they were going to come back...
When Crystal turned her head to look at her data terminal, something caught her eyes, she hovered over the link and brought up that interview concerning her boyfriend on the HNN. She had a knowing smile and at some point, her eyebrows shot up when she noticed a woman clearly hitting on him, live. Shaking her head and rolling her eyes exasperatedly, she brought up the messaging system and sent one to Lily.
Hitting the send button Crystal pressed play again on the interview and actually restarted it from the beginning, knowing that she was going to have a laugh at her own boyfriend's expense

Crystal was replaying that interview purposely pausing the moment the weather girl came onto her boyfriend just to see his expressions. Lily was right, he really seemed uncomfortable. She had obviously read the mail in between that viewing of that interview and she finally closed off that whole video to focus on what was important: work.
But first, a reply to that message while in the back of her mind she was, of course thinking about Elika and wondered how her friend was faring. Before she and Lily had left with Andros, Atlantis had stayed behind. She was certain that the Grandmaster had things to tell her friend or something but obviously what was said between them both, it was none of her business so to speak and therefore she wouldn't pry at all.
Buzzing the PA in after the guard told her that she was here, Crystal thanked the soldier and noticed someone she barely knew walk into her office. She exactly hadn't had the time to conduct the interviews herself and had just requested someone with a good background. She really wasn't expecting that type of person to walk into her office. Raising from her seat, Crystal smiled warmly before she noticed... Crap, what was her name already? Putting a cup of coffee onto her desk.
"That coffee is for you Ms. Kayne, I was told that you liked coffee unless I am mistaken then I can always run to fetch you something else to drink?" The woman asked the CFO who was now her boss.
"What?" Crystal asked as if she was tugged out of her reverie and she blinked a few times before clearing her throat and shaking her head with another smile. "Oh no, I mean yes, coffee is fine. Thank you Ms..."
"Wan, Delaana Wan. It is nice meeting you and it is an honor to work for you." Delaana extended her hand to shake her boss's. Crystal shook it of course with a warm smile before Delaana released Crystal's hand.
"Please, call me Crystal." She said before sitting down on her seat and gestured to the seat right in front of her desk. It was time to get to work, the whole socializing thing for now would have to wait she supposed. Grabbing a file that was sealed she looked at it momentarily and then back at Delaana. "Could you please take this file to the Vice-Governor's office..." She was sure that her PA had heard about Andros, and she already cringed at the thought of her boyfriend's brother greeting Delaana but in the corner of her mind though, she was hoping that the VG would be receptive to the woman's looks, she knew she was... But this is not about herself right now, it's about that file she was holding which she handed to Lana and smiled. "Just tell the guards that you work with me and that I have sent you to transmit this file that should be handed to him personally?"
"It'll be done." She said with a smile taking the file and standing up from her seat to exit the office.
Crystal caught herself looking at her new PA and just shook her head before chuckling at the thought. Oh gosh, this was going to be eventful... or not.

It was during the trip towards the government building that Atlantis had read the whole article, it was also during that trip that Lily's question had been replied on what was actually going on. Fact was, there was just something odd about this, not only there was no remembrance, no official mourning and last but not least, not even a word about maybe the editor's family? But just a certain Doran Healy potentially taking his place. Grabbing his own datapad, to send that article's link to Lily, Atlantis stood motionless for a second and looked at Crystal for the longest time in silence.
What Atlantis thought? It was preposterous, that was the only word that came to mind but still he held his tongue as they were greeted by the two guards in front of her office door. He inclined his head respectfully before walking inside right behind her. He waited for the door to close and took a deep breath before placing her datapad onto her desk.
"I really don't know, but maybe the guy was the natural number two of that news agency?" Atlantis said thoughtfully, and no he did not sit down, he wasn't about to take more of her time than necessary when he knew that she was here to work, nothing more and nothing else. "But it's too big of a splatter, the details of the suicide and there was no investigation if there was a foul play or not." No, that kind of event wasn't just splattered on the local news that way, especially when the person was the editor of the large news agency.
For now, there was nothing he could do about it, he had his hands tied and had to let local authorities deal with that since it did not concern any Force sensitives. It was made clear in his pact with Raan and Andros, FS it was the MO's terrain, civilian, just them, the government at large and the police force. "If I hear anything further about this, I will let you know as I can tell and see that you obviously have a bad feeling about this but..." Atlantis walked towards her and placed a hand on her cheek. "Don't worry too much about it." He told her before pecking her lips softly.
"I have to join your brother and show him to the academy, he also wants to learn from us." Dropping his hand from her cheek, he smiled faintly and kissed her forehead one last time before stepping back to let her work and hopefully she wouldn't be thinking too much about that article at all. Turning around to exit the office, Atlantis had in mind to track down Ryan first and foremost, since he had to show him to his room back in the academy and hopefully he would also see Franz, Mace and Ayla and talk to them about that message that had been sent in their direction.

Maybe Crystal was making a big deal out of it and she was certain there was potentially an explanation. Although she couldn't be certain until she had facts presented right in front of her. She wasn't one to assume over something she had no control on, over something she had no idea about overall. Atlantis telling her that he would let her know if he heard anything further about it, he didn't need to do that, to actually not look into it. It wasn't his calling, he wasn't the people's police when Umgul had its own detectives, police force and what have you. Although knowing him if he offered, it was for a reason and the reason was ultimately her.
Closing her eyes briefly and kissing him back, she kept her eyes closed when he soon kissed her forehead. She had her hands on his triceps and she gave it a gentle squeeze before she watched him and listened to him about his plans for the day. "Sounds like Ryan, indeed, always wanting to do something but at the same time he doesn't want to apply to the hospital, at least not just yet." Crystal told Atlantis affectionately. She and Ryan might have been half siblings but it did not change the fact that she actually was his elder sister and it did not change the fact that she actually cared about him, not just him but there was also Ares.
And maybe Elika was right, she was starting to sound more and more like a mom. Oh gods... She shuddered at the thought and took a deep breath before she watched Atlantis go, she turned to sit onto her seat after removing her coat and scarf before turning on her dataterminal. She really had no current high pending matters to take care of right this instant considering that several budgets had been held up either by Andros' orders or even the political advisor, Mace. Still, with everything that had happened in the recent months, she was not only surprised to see that every departments balance were really high but with the changes that occurred planet side, the government budgets were still surviving and was definitely way above what she had first projected.
Pulling her gaze away from the figures when she heard an incoming message, she looked at who was the sender and the content of the message, Crystal smiled faintly, not because of the content but because Lily had personally looked into that matter already and already assured her that there was indeed no foul play.
That answered her question, she would be able to stop thinking about that article and hopefully whoever needed a closure about that matter would get it one way or the other... Dropping the matter entirely, Crystal returned to her usual job description moving funds around for every departments but also putting aside and creating a budget for the police department that was local bound. Andros had requested that but he also needed the Senator's approval for that. Even though the Vice-Governor had single handedly handled the universal healthcare matter with the help of the newly created offices for social security.
Printing the files that had the figures of what interested the Vice-Governor, Crystal placed those in a sealed folder before asking for Lana to come over. "Could you please take this to the Vice-Governor, if he is currently busy, just leave it to his secretary." Crystal smiled warmly before watching Lana leave to do what she was told to do. Crystal was finally able to learn back and stretch a little it would soon be lunch time, right? Glancing at her chrono on her wrist, she saw that already it was a little over midday. Her cheking was soon followed by a holonet message from Elika, Crystal replied and added Lily to the recipient to say okay whenever you want...

Upon arriving to the financial department, Lana gestured for both of them to head on first and she followed right after. She had an idea on who they might be visiting, since both of them or at least the woman was close to the Vice-Governor, the only other executive on this floor was Crystal Kayne, her own boss. It did not take a rocket scientist to know this fact, considering that Crystal's boyfriend was the Grandmaster of the Order here, and that he was the twin of the Vice-Governor. Question she was still asking herself, who was the man and what were their names... And she supposed that she didn't need to wait long enough since she noticed that Crystal was walking towards them with a cup of coffee."Hey hon', you've made it." Crystal smiled warmly at her friend and noticed that she had been with Lana and Franz. Looking at Franz with a warm smile, she inclined her head faintly. "Franz, how are you doing?" She asked softly before gesturing to all of them to follow her back into her office to be seated there. But before even doing that, she looked at the three of them and started the introductions. "Elikapeka Hekekia and Franz Delgrave, please meet Delaana Wan. Lana, Elika and Franz." She began thoughtfully before smiling warmly. "Architect, Jedi and Assistant." She carried on before finally walking towards her office."Pleasure to meet you both." She smiled warmly before looking at Crystal since after all she did have something to hand to her that was from Andros. "The Vice-Governor asked me to hand you this note." Not having the intention to actually follow the three of them into Crystal's office because she wanted to give them that privacy, she looked at Franz and Elika, this time asking them both. "Can I get you both anything to drink?"Crystal raised her eyebrows dubiously when she was handed the note and did not read it just yet, she looked at Lana with a grateful smile before looking at Elika and Franz, although it was surprising to see him here instead of Lucy. Did he actually replace her? She wouldn't be surprised about that to be perfectly honest. "What she said, you both need anything while we wait for Lily?" She asked curiously as she proceeded to her retina scan to at least get her office door open

Franz only smiled when Elika had called him Master Delgrave on their way down here and even though he had the urge to correct her right then and there to just call him by his name, he didn't quite do it just yet. Maybe he would get the opportunity later on, who knew but if there was one thing that he would clearly refuse it was the fact that someone he considered like a friend, who was a civilian to begin with would call him Master Delgrave. Younglings, padawans, Mist Order members, sure, he could deal with that, but friends, not really.
Franz walked out of the turbolift first and didn't even bother to scan the general vicinity because there was nothing clearly wrong here. People seemed appeased and besides, a Force sensitive was in the premises and she would clearly be the first to be sending the alarm by any means necessary if that was needed. Speaking of the Force sensitive, there she was. Franz took a step back to just allow Elika and Crystal to talk and maybe Crystal would be needing to talk with the blonde woman too since after all they were all headed here.
When Crystal addressed him, Franz inclined his head with a faint smile and blinked once. "Good, thanks for asking. I trust it's the same for you?" He asked politely and maybe a little mechanically but that did not change the fact that he was actually good and that he was hoping she was the same. When came the rounds of introduction, Franz turned to look at Lana, and smiled politely. "Please, just call me Franz." He said before glancing at Elika too meaningfully because he really did not want to be addressed the way he had been earlier that way by her. Even though it was technically the truth, but still.
"No thank you, I am fine." He said to both Crystal and Lana as he noticed the door of Crystal's office opening, he clearly had no intention to impose himself and he certainly didn't want to stand there and really say nothing while being there. He looked at the two women, Elika and Crystal and told them. "I'll be right here." Despite the fact that there were two soldiers standing there, clearly protecting Crystal's work and its sensitivity, and that he wasn't needed to stand on guard here, he still couldn't forget what Lieutenant Lyn had told him about Elika.
He had changed, that was a fact, and he didn't want to cause more Elika's anxiety level to spike because technically he seemed to be a stranger now. Franz wasn't how he used to be at least not right now. Was he being selfish? He didn't know really but quite honestly right now, he wasn't thinking about himself, he wasn't wallowing in his own personal problems nor was he going to make a big deal out of it. No, right now he had someone to watch over and she was his priority.

Opening her arms at her sides when Crystal greets her by noting that she has made it, Elikapeka smiles and asks playfully, "Was there ever any doubt I would, sweetie? and then nods when Crystal introduces her and Franz to Delaana, tugging her left sleeve down while looking at it as she tells Crystal, We've all met. Bobbling her head to the side, she amends her statement, Kind of. We weren't introduced, but we . . . waving her hands, abandoning her synopsis of events as it seems unnecessary and she realizes she probably close to babbling, Elika says, Likewise, when Delaana says it is a pleasure to meet them and, after Delaana asks if she can get them anything, smiles down at her right sleeve, which she is now tugging in lieu of the left, and shakes her head, saying, Nothing for me, thank you."
As Elika follows Crystal towards her office, Franz says that he will wait outside, and Elika begins to protest before, reminding herself that Franz will probably want her to bear in mind that he is here not as a friend, but as her body guard, catching herself and nodding, smiling as she says to him instead, "Thank you." It will, Elika thinks, take some time to get used to having Franz stand in for her lieutenant, but hopefully, unlike Lucine who does not relax even when they are alone, Franz will be at least a bit more like himself when they are not in public.
Bobbing her eyebrows when she turns towards Crystal, primarily to acknowledge that it is strange to have Franz taking her lieutenant's place since she had caught a mildly surprised expression on her friend's face that she assumed was related to Franz's presence and Lucine's absence, Elika follows her into her office. Not commenting on the subject of her new body guard arrangement for the moment in case Crystal asks for anything from Delaana, electing to address the subject when they are alone if it does indeed come up, Elika drops her trench coat on the back of a chair, sets her backpack purse on the floor, and winds her scarf around her neck for something to do with her hands since she has noticed the fact she has been compulsively tugging her sleeves.
"How's your day been going, sweetie? Elika asks, lifting her hair from beneath her scarf. Anything interesting going on in the world of finance?"

It is when the turbolift's door opened that I make a straight beeline towards Crystal's office and I notice that Franz is there but also Lana, Elika is actually with Crystal in her office. "These are yours." I tell Lana actually handing her approximately two dozens of letters from my department, whatever really, I am sure that those are all love letters. "And it looks like it is not diminishing as the weeks go by." I tell her before shaking my head glancing knowingly at Kayne because she knows about this matter.
"And I am buying lunch ..." I tell them both as I put the credit chips down onto Crystal's desk, which was totally two dozens of it too. "The guys are too chicken to actually give her the fan mail, and considering that I am often come here, they have been begging me to give those to her. I told them that I would only do it for a fee because I am not a match maker." Stifling a laugh because really I was kidding when I first said that, now it's like it has become a weekly thing.
"You might want to tell them something because sooner or later, I might be bearing flowers." It's not that difficult to actually ask her out provided if she is actually single right, but whatever, the guys' problem there. Shaking my head at the thought before pursing my lips thoughtfully I look at Elika with a warm smile and I am obviously glad that she is joining us for lunch.
"Also, Lana, I am so sorry and if you want me to just ignore it, then I will. Attorney's honor here." For all I know she really doesn't give a damn, either way I have never heard one of the guys getting a reply from her, and I am pretty sure that maybe she doesn't give bantha's poodoo about it. Who knows?
Taking a seat in front of Kayne's desk because I actually need to take a seat, I look curiously at Crystal and Elika as from what I remember Elika's bodyguard isn't Franz but a certain Lucine Lyn, right? Right ...

She had gotten Franz's reply first who seemed really serious but still friendly and confident and then she got Elika's reply who seemed to be avoiding her gaze but Lana didn't take that the wrong way, maybe she was shy, maybe she was anxious. She wasn't about to speculate really or just assume because that important fact remained, Lana did not know her personally. "Don't mention it, just let me know if you change your mind." Lana said before looking at Franz to include him too. "You too, Franz." Lana was about to turn on her heels to get a caf for herself but she noticed Lily exiting the turbolift...
Crystal placed her cup onto the coaster on her desk but she had clearly seen that Elika seemed to be shying from her PA. She had an idea or several as to why but before even replying to Elika about how her day has been going so far and even if she had been doubting the fact that Elika was going to show up for lunch, she felt that Lily was coming in their direction. Looking at her childhood friend's direction, Crystal bit her lower lip because she actually knew what Lily had been carrying and had just handed to Lana. "Aww, baby girl, it's so sweet of you to play messenger..." Looking at the chips on her desk, she rolled her eyes playfully even though she had been sarcastic previously. "I still call that... What's that word already?" She asked comically to Elika with an amused grin. "Extortion, right? Right." Shaking her head and laughing softly before looking at Lana feeling sorry too quite honestly.
"I am really sorry too that you are going through that..."
"You have nothing to apologize for, not your fault. Besides..." She pointed at the credit chips and smiled warmly. "If it pays for your lunch then really it couldn't be worse than that." Winking playfully before glancing at the letters, she shook her head and breathed softly. "It'll keep me warm during the weekend at least." Not that she had any plans to read these, she never read them, instead she burnt them, she truly wasn't interested at all anyways. "Enjoy lunch and again it was nice meeting you." She told the three women and mainly Elika before finally exiting the office to give the three of them that privacy...
Crystal had taken her usual seat and was sipping her coffee, she still couldn't believe the fact that Lana was still getting letters from the paralegals. But that matter being closed right now, she looked at Elika with a faint smile. "Day so far has been good and the financial world chaotic universe wise but Umgul-wise all good." Crystal finally replied, small talk and not really interesting now that they were together, just the three of them. Remembering Elika's earlier reaction and words to the introductions, Crystal nibbled slightly her lower lip.
"You saw her in Andros' floor..." It wasn't a question but more or a statement since after all that was where Lana had gone to give Andros the file. "I bet he was happy to see you." Surprisingly that was what she asked or maybe not so surprising on her part because she wasn't about to ask what was what like what Elika thought of Lana. Smiling warmly, she then remembered that Franz was with them too.
"Is Franz subbing Lucy?" Crystal asked quite seriously this time because it was really surprising to see him out of the academy, he was always there and she had barely seen him over the last few weeks and now he was here with Elika standing outside of her office door. Looking in Lily's direction because she knew that she too would find this surprising considering that both of them haven't seen him in a while and when they did, he was serious. Picking up her cup to empty it, she looked at both of her friends curiously. "Any place you two fancy to have lunch?" Crystal then remembered that note that Lana had handed to her and she picked it up from her desk and unsealed it to read it.
It was Andros' handwriting no doubt and she laughed softly before smiling warmly. "Andros is always watching out for you sweetie, even from afar..." Crystal told Elika softly with an affectionate smile as she placed the note down on her desk and turned it in both Lily's and Elika's direction to let them read it too.

Taking off her spectacles and focusing intently on cleaning the lenses with a handkerchief she takes from the side pocket of her trench coat gives Elikapeka something to do with her hands other than play with her sleeves compulsively, and as she tends to the lenses she smiles when Lily arrives, saying, "Hey gorgeous, fancy meeting you here," continuing to clean her spectacles as she listens with an amused expression to the exchange between her friends and Delaana concerning the fan club the latter has given rise to among the men of Lily's department.
Lifting her glasses to inspect the lenses, Elika smiles with a nod when Delaana takes her leave, saying it was nice meeting them, answering, "It was nice meeting you as well," as she puts her spectacles back on. After Crystal explains how her day has been going, Elika smiles as she says, "If anyone can keep the chaos from reaching us here on Umgul, it's you hon'. Nodding when Crystal observes that Elika and Delaana met earlier on Andros's floor, Elika, visibly more at ease now that the three of them are alone, says, We weren't introduced until you introduced us though. And Andros was happy to see me in a very Andros sort of way, Elika moves on with a laugh, noting, He seems a little tired, but alright otherwise. Her right hand reaches absently to the spot on her vest beneath which the figurine of Shiraya that hangs from the chain around her neck rests as Elika, her expression becoming mildly concerned as she thinks about the change in Franz, answers Crystal's question about Franz and her lieutenant, Andros, Atlantis and I all agreed that my lieutenant was overdue for some leave. It was Atlantis' idea to have Franz relieve her, and it seems Andros agreed, so, she lifts her left hand at her side with a smile, setting her concern for Franz aside for the moment since there is not likely to be an opportunity to explore it at present, if there is anything to explore at all given that it could simply be that he is in character as her lieutenant is always in character when on duty, here we are. Speaking of, Elika continues, addressing Crystal's question about where they should have lunch, I'm not picky, so anywhere you two normally go for lunch is fine with me."
Stepping closer to Crystal's deck when she turns the note around for her to see, Elika smiles after reading the note, nodding as she says, "He's a sweet heart under that grumpy exterior, that's for sure. But, she puts a finger to her lips as she playfully jokes in a hushed voice, we'll just have to keep that to ourselves so we don't ruin his reputation. Lifting her backpack purse onto her shoulder, Elika shakes Lily's shoulder with her other hand as she says, Come on gorgeous, let's go."

"You know I wouldn't miss this sexy gathering." I reply to Elika before blowing a kiss in her direction added with a wink. Honestly, so not the kind to do so and besides she is back so this definitely calls for a date ... So it's only a lunch date, but I do love being with them even if it's for lunch and quite honestly, it's always a great break.
I soon make a face though in baby girl's direction when she just states that I am basically threatening the guys in my department to have the letters be brought up. Putting my hand over my heart in fake shock, I look at Kayne with an aggravated expression, it's just for show, that goes without saying, of course ... "I am so shocked that you would think me capable of doing such a thing." I even wipe an imaginary tear from my eye before wiggling my eyebrows teasingly hearing Lana's statement. "What Lana said, it keeps her warm and it keeps us fed." Gesturing to all of us with an amused expression before adding on. "I call this a win-win situation."
Looking towards Lana with a knowing and teasing smile, I wink back at her and wave my hand as she goes. "Thanks, and you too." Focusing my attention back onto Kayne and Elika, I did notice earlier that she seemed to be wiping her spectacle's lenses. Glancing behind to make sure that the door is closed, I stifle a laugh for what seems no reasons at all, but I always have a reason. Mind out of the gutter, out, out ... Clearing my throat briefly as I listen to what Crystal is saying, and also what Elika is saying, I look from Crystal to Elika very slowly.
"Weren't introduced until the introductions have been made by Crystal, huh ..." I let my sentence hang right there into midair before looking upwards the most innocent way. But back to the matter at hand, deciding on the place where to have lunch. "Twice now that word fancy has been brought up, and that tune is officially in my head. Thanks you two." I make a face because knowing me it would take some time before I get rid of that music in my mind. I'm so fancy, you already know ... Gods, stop stop stop. Shuddering on the spot until I notice that note Crystal is showing us, I look at what is written and smile warmly before looking over at Elika with a knowing expression.
"Wait, wait, wait, waaaaaiiiitttt ..." I tell Elika as she is shaking me before laughing softly. "I am currently basking on the fact that Andros seems to be one of the few who actually spells my name right straight away." I stand up from my seat holding securely my handbag before looking at Crystal and then Elika. "Weekend official starts now!" I say happily although it seems that my boyfriend's cousin will be the bodyguard. Okay then but I can always think about that matter later, not that it bothers me really. Right now though there is only one thing that has been burning me to ask.
"So ... It's the first time you have met Delaana, gorgeous, what do you think?" I ask her teasingly, I still have a little time to kill while Crystal gathers her things too.

Crystal looked upwards at Lily's statements and shook her head in amusement. She even had to purse her lips to prevent herself from laughing at her childhood friend's antics. She soon looked at Elika rolling her eyes playfully as she sat up straighter onto her seat as Lana left the office. Smiling soon enough as she heard Elika's statement reassuring her at her job, Crystal tilted her head from side to side, not quite sure that she would really be able to do that on her own because quite factually her job was made easier by the planet's policy overall and therefore it was thanks to Raan and Andros.
"Thanks hon'..." Crystal said softly before pointing upwards as she smiled. "Although you should thank them primarily for making my job easier and streamlined." She meant the higher ups of the planet of course, it wasn't the fact that the planet really had a closed border policy, it was quite the contrary but it was more the fact that this planet wasn't part of any coalition in the universe and they did proclaim that this planet was independent and so on. She pulled away from her thoughts though because she did not want to think and speak about the politic really surrounding this planet and so she focused exclusively to what her friends were saying.
Crystal smiled warmly and nodded knowingly at Elika's statement about Andros being happy to see her in his own way. Crystal wasn't surprised about that, like she wasn't surprised to know that he was tired. "He has been working day and night about a lot of things..." Part of his projects, she had been a part of and they went into a lot of overtime and she wasn't complaining at all because she saw the things he had been doing and everything he did wasn't for his own personal gain. Again it was politics in essence but at the same time it was for the well being of the population at large on this planet.
What Andros had done for the Lieutenant too, it also furthered her sentiments about the man itself. She looked towards the office's exit direction and closed her eyes briefly feeling that Franz was out there and she had no idea what he was doing but he really seemed serious earlier and maybe he still was right now. "Hmmm, knowing how Andros is. I think he would have refused if it weren't someone he trusted to take Lucy's place." Crystal knew that much about Andros and Atlantis knew that too considering that he had suggested Franz for the job. She understood all the underlying reasoning between the twins anyways and also it was good to see Franz out of the academy after everything that occurred in the past months.
Looking from Elika to Lily who were both pretty much celebrating the fact that Andros was being a sweet heart but also getting their day cut in half, Crystal laughed when Lily said she was basking on her name being written correctly. "How many still mess up your names here...?" She began to ask before amending her statement. "Or I should ask, who actually does get your name right?" Crystal asked teasingly, like she had said before and like she would always say, Lily's name actually had jays that weren't necessary in basic but hey, a name was a name and hers was just difficult to write to begin with.
Standing up from her seat, Crystal paused for a moment when Lily asked about Lana to Elika, deciding to just stay away from that, Crystal just gathered her stuff and even handed the credit chips to Lily since she was buying but considering that none of them were picky about the place where they should head to lunch, Crystal grabbed her datapad from her desk after putting her coat on. "Okay, found the place and it's nearby." Crystal said thoughtfully as she decided on that place called Garden of Eatin' Delight...
"And hon'?" Crystal said to Elika with a knowing expression before shaking her head somewhat exasperatedly. "You better answer that, or she isn't going to let go." She warned her friend, and she was sure that Elika would know that much about Lily anyways which caused her to purse her lips to stifle a giggle.

Due to her social anxiety, Elikapeka seldom misses social cues whether they are subtle or overt, though the nature of her anxiety does often lead her to err on the side of negative interpretations when interpreting those cues; and so, while Lily's subtle reactions to having noted Elika's thinly veiled discomfort while Delaana had been present were not meant to increase Elika's anxiety, they do precisely that due to the simple fact that Elika is often prone to fashioning what she perceives into critical observations about herself - in this particular instance she manages to take perfectly innocent teasing as a sign that she is behaving like an idiot, overreacting to the fact that she found someone physically attractive in an embarrassingly obvious way like some teenager with a crush. Not without a sense of humor where her own foibles are concerned, Elika, who had been feeling a combination of disappointment and relief - the former due to the learning that Delaana is Crystal's assistant, and the latter due to the fact that knowing what she now knows means that nothing could possibly come of her attraction since she can't imagine herself acting upon it even if she were to somehow work up the necessary nerve to try and pursue it - uses the false conclusion she has drawn from Lily's cues to mentally shake all her muddled internal musings aside as pointless and an unnecessary expenditure of mental energy, choosing to internally laugh at herself as a means of preventing her anxiety from increasing.
Tilting her head to the side inquisitively after Lily has asked what her thoughts on meeting Delaana are and Crystal has pointed out that Lily is not at all likely to allow Elika the luxury of simply ignoring the question, Elika purses her lips as though thinking about her first impressions for the very first time and then answers, "Well, beautiful, she seems very professional. Shrugging her shoulders and raising her eyebrows as though to silently ask 'well, what else were you expecting', Elika changes the subject, turning to walk from Crystal's office as she looks over her shoulder and asks Crystal, Near enough to walk, or will we need an airtaxi?"
Once outside, Elika tells Franz, "We're going for lunch, and then looks at him with an arched eyebrow as she asks playfully, I don't suppose you'll join us? As in actually have lunch with us rather than emulating my lieutenant and lurking about the periphery ensuring my safety when you could do so just as easily while having lunch with us?"

Franz had been standing there without moving an inch really and he wasn't so inclined to disrupt the guards in front of Crystal's office nor was he inclined to be distracted by anything or anyone. He was at the opposite wall that led to the entrance to the office and had noticed that Delaana Wan had left to do whatever it was she needed to do and maybe that was to have some lunch considering the time. Still he did not move due to the fact that the three women were still inside the office.
His gaze did cross Lily's briefly and there was no reaction from him. No doubt that two of them right there were wondering what he was doing here and why it wasn't Lucy. Things changed and Lucy needed a break anyways. He, too, needed a break from all the teachings back at the academy, not that he was complaining but sometimes it took a toll on a person's body no matter how trained they are.
During his hermit like disposition, Franz had trained, he had perfected several of his powers more due to the fact that he knew he had to and also because it was needed of him. Therefore it was one of the reasons why he could hear the things that were being said in the office, thanks to his ability to listen farther than most could despite the door being closed, despite the barriers around. Insofar, he only knew one person that could block that ability of his or create a static to blur everything being said and that person had mastered the mist and the electricity to her advantage.
Turning to face the door, since he knew that Elika would be there soon, Franz looked at her with a very serious expression. "The airtaxi won't be necessary, whatever your destination is." He began to say and if she was surprised that he might have heard that with the door still closed, well he could also say that he had heard enough to make something out of it since she was near the office's exit.
Slouching a little though and relaxing his body, Franz looked at Elika thoughtfully before tilting his head on the side slightly. "If you'd rather have me sit with you, then that is what I'll do Elika." Franz replied thoughtfully and sincerely although in his case, sitting down or doing it like the Lieutenant, being afar, it wouldn't have changed a thing for him. He was FS, he could and very well protect anyone he was assigned to no matter the setting he was in.

I know that I have probably pushed her buttons too much so far, but really, I do not mean any harm at all and I need to know anyways if I am crazy in the figurative way of course, because I am far from crazy, that much I know. If my questions and my little pushes here and there makes Elika come out of her shell, then perfect. Unless she tells me to stop it, then I will otherwise I will nudge her here and there to speak more freely and just embrace what nature brings before all of us.
Crystal knows it, she jumped in that proverbial ring after being pushed by Elika back then, and now just now, baby girl has that steady relationship with lover boy. I do too with Ryan after being pushed by his sister to act upon it. No one will ever know until they have tried. Closing my eyes momentarily and tilting my head from side to side before looking back at Elika with an equally expectant gaze. "Gorgeous, if I were there too, I'd do something about it and do her." Looking briefly over my shoulders to glance at Kayne. "Heck, I'd do her too, but friendship rules." And yes maybe I am joking partially but there is a truth there. I cannot deny that because yes I can be promiscuous and yes I lay out hard facts and am not ashamed of it. Although I understand that it can be difficult for Elika's case because of her personality.
But is it really that bad of me for wanting her to have a happy ending too? Maybe not an ending but at least she deserves great things in life. Not just friends who care about her, not just her work but someone to share her life with.
I know that now I really have pushed it to its limit so I raise my hands in surrender as I watch her head towards the exit of the office getting on the way the credit chips Crystal is handing to me and just placing those into my bag. In the want and need to just move along for the sake of all of us, and mainly for Elika's sake, I look at Crystal with a knowing expression.
"I can count on the fingers of my hand of how many actually gets my name right." Even the majority of the paralegals get it wrong despite the name plate on my door. Shaking my head at the thought before shrugging not really caring about that fact on who gets my name right or wrong, in the end, I really do not give a damn. Holding securely onto my bag, I grab my datapad from it to send a message to my department to tell all of them that I am not returning that very afternoon because I am taking my afternoon off and that whatever matters that require my attention, that could way till the following week, if not then they can contact me only in dire emergency. Right now though, time to head for lunch and hopefully Kayne will tell me to just shut up or just give me a nudge whenever I let my mouth run by itself ...

Crystal closed her eyes for a long moment and mentally kicked herself. She wished to take back her words, her statement but it was too late. She should have known that it would have resulted this way. She understood her childhood friend for encouraging Elika the way she was doing right now, but she also understood that Elika really wasn't like Lily. Pursing her lips to control that frustration she was feeling right now for basically sending Elika to the wolves or in this case into Lily's trap, Crystal took a deep breath and placed her hands onto her desk to fight that urge that was fueling in her.
One she did not want to send a wrong impression to her boyfriend who was so in touch with her emotional outburst and she did not want to cause any alarm from Franz who was standing outside of her office. She let out a soft grunt and exhaled softly just remembering everything that not only Atlantis had told her but also her brother's words. Looking up from her desk upon hearing Elika's question, she focused her gaze right in front of her and nodded to confirm the first question.
"Two blocks away from here." Crystal finally spoke only after she was certain she had everything under control. Looking this time in her childhood friend's direction, Crystal shook her head faintly before glancing at Elika momentarily as if to tell her to not even go there anymore. She clearly did not want to spend her time playing referee and she certainly did not want to be in the middle, not when she could be taken off guard with her current predisposition.
Crystal pushed away from her desk finally, considering that she had all of her things with her, they were ready to go. In the need to actually just move away from that awkward moment, Crystal looked at Lily and smiled faintly. "Two many unnecessary letters in your name." She told Lily half jokingly but her tone sounded serious too as she walked towards the exit of her office hearing Franz's words giving Elika the decision to put wherever she wanted him to stand or sit.
The more she looked at Franz and the more she listened to him speak, the more she could see that the man that they all once knew, that they were all so used to from that moment at the casino so long ago to recently, she really couldn't find that she once knew since the day they had met. Crystal placed her hand gently onto Elika's back and looked over at Franz with a knowing expression. She knew that he had gone temporarily off world because she stopped feeling him altogether but when he came back, she did not get the whats or whys he left in the first place because Atlantis never told her really but also because she didn't want to press on matters that might have been private.
"You got everything?" Crystal finally asked Elika softly before glancing at her friend with an apologetic expression. It was after all her fault too anyways, so she felt compelled to apologize and she would voice that out when they were alone, hopefully Crystal wouldn't forget.

Elikapeka, hoping that the walk from Crystal's office to where Franz had been standing watch gave her enough time to stop blushing as a result of Lily's characteristically direct and unadorned advice, as well as being grateful that she successfully managed to stifle the shocked laughter said advice, which also served to reveal that Elika's attempt to deny her attraction fooled no one, gave rise to within her, blinks in surprise when Franz states that they won't be needing an airtaxi. Having been friends with Atlantis and other members of the Mist Order for as long as she has, Elika finds that she can sometimes forget that they have the abilities being Force sensitive grants them, and therefore occasionally, like now, can be caught off guard when reminded of those abilities. Since she doesn't know whether Franz knows about the airtaxi question because he was able to hear their conversation or because he read the thought in her mind, Elika, naturally, assumes the latter and, wondering what else he may have read in her thoughts, blushes deeply while trying not to think of the things that came to mind when Lily had offered her advice, which, also naturally, means that she thinks about them all the more.
Flustered, Elika tugs at her left sleeve with her right hand, then the right with her left twice, and then the right again as, endeavoring to regain her composure by composing a vioflute piece in her head as that technique can often help her work through her anxiety before it can blossom into a full-blown panic attack, she sighs and, reminding herself that it is unlikely Franz would use his abilities to pry and therefore that her embarrassment about what he might have gleaned from her thoughts is in all likelihood unfounded and unnecessary, says, "I want you to do whatever you're most comfortable with, Franz." Which is the truth; Elika, realizing that she needs to understand that Franz has a job to do, tells herself she will just need to adjust her expectations as well as how she interacts with him when they are in public or not alone.
Looking over towards Crystal when her friend asks if she has everything, Elika smiles, guessing from Crystal's tone and expression that she is worried that Lily's comments might have upset her, and nods as she says chipperly and clearly trying to convey that Crystal needn't worry about her, "I believe so, sweetie. To underscore the fact that she is not upset at all by Lily's earlier comments, Elika walks over and links her arm through Lily's and says, Let's go, beautiful. It's only two blocks, so I say we just walk unless anyone has an objection? Walking towards the turbolifts, Elika rests the side of her head against Lily's and whispers in an amused tone, You are so bad, beautiful. You know that, right? Stepping into the turbolift when it arrives, Elika presses the button to take them to the ground floor when everyone has gotten in, and then asks Crystal, So, where is it we're going? Or is it a surprise?"

Franz had noticed that Elika was blushing and despite that fact, he did not comment, he did not say a single thing because it currently wasn't his job. He also noticed that her compulsions had returned, he knew that it had something to do with her scars there because he had seen it once back then and with the revelation from Lucy it all made sense. Everything made sense. But he kept his expression neutral and he took a deep breath to hold his tongue even if he wanted to reassure her right now for whatever he had said that made her act this way.
"It's supposed to be the other way around, Elika." Franz replied to her with a faint smile. To think that she was the one wanting him to be comfortable when he actually wanted her to be comfortable. Not really lingering onto that right now because he noticed that Crystal was walking in their direction. He looked at her very impassively and knew that she had gone through something earlier. He might have not known what precisely and he might not have understood perfectly, because quite honestly he was more focused onto Elika but the fact that Crystal had aborted her near outburst, it showed to him at least that she was in control.
Considering who she was and that all by itself meant a lot of things, it ranged from being Atlantis' girlfriend to someone he somewhat was related to even though they had no blood link at all. He looked at her meaningfully soon enough and asked privately to her. Are you alright? Did you want me to call Atlantis?
He moved his hand on the side to show that he would comply and even though he wasn't mandated to Atlantis' girlfriend, he knew enough to know that she had been dealing with a lot of things. Franz turned around on his heels and was flanking everyone letting the women go into the lift first and then he followed suit to wherever they wanted, needed to go for their lunch... He, too, was interested in knowing which location Crystal had decided to have lunch to so he pushed the button to the lobby of the government building and stood upright as he closed his eyes momentarily. He figured that he would improvise once they got there.

Closing an eye when I see Kayne telling to just quit it here and now, I look at Elika before shaking my head and gesturing that she seems fine. After what do I really know since she is the one who can feel everyone's emotions anyways. If it has to come to apologizing, then I will apologize but right now, really I am just saying the naked truth, only the naked truth here ... Clutching onto my handbag, I just follow towards the exit and glance at Kayne getting her cue that she really wants to move along too.
"Tell that to my parents," I poke my tongue out at Kayne's comment about my name, but I have to admit that she is correct about that but at the same time, I like how my name is written then I can give any one who messes it up some grief. "Hi by the way, Franz." I finally greet him because earlier, I made a beeline to this office. He has changed, that much I can see, he is no longer the guy I first met him as.
I do not know him much and it's not my thing to actually find out whatever happened with him because likewise he doesn't know me much but what I do know is that both Elika and Crystal consider him to be a valued friend and also he is Ryan's and lover boy's cousin. I think ... I have to find out more precisely.
Before I can continue with my musing, I feel someone linking their arm to mine and just look at my side noticing that it's Elika. I just walk away with her but I am glad to know that she has not taken any offense to what I have said and I pretend to sigh reluctantly. "Do we really have to?" I ask with a pout before winking at her playfully just to say that I really don't mind the walking but soon I find myself biting my lower lip faintly while giggling lowly.
Looking at Elika and squeezing gently her arm with my opposite hand, I wink at her playfully before answering in a whisper "I know but that is precisely why you love me and you have to admit that I am so good at being bad." Stifling a laughter as we step into the turbolift, I look at Crystal dubiously because I know for a fact that she could be quite capable of choosing the restaurant at TaSpa! but that doesn't make sense considering that it is two blocks away ... Did we even go there once?
