The minute his captain had fallen, Juuma's eyes had flicked to the guards. Their stances were watchful and tense, and when Miri stumbled backwards he reached his left arm out, catching her around the waist to stabilize her and his right hand gripped the handle of his pistol behind is back as they were pushed against the wall. Juuma's green eyes narrowed at the guards as they continued to watch them, until their stances relaxed, then he removed his hand from behind his back and brushed off his captain as though he was brushing dust off her. "Meesa finks yousa needsa be tha most careful captain"

After Captain Santiro and her crew, and Lady Lilith had been waiting for almost an hour, Betsy walked back over to the waiting room and addressed Captain Santiro and her crew first."Captain Santiro...Princess Matango will see you in her office now."She smiled politely and gave the Captain directions to Ice's office then turned to Lady Lilith and spoke to her."Lady Lilith...Dr. Mercotti is ready to meet with you in her office whenever you're ready."Betsy then proceeded to give Lilith directions to Alisha's office before giving her a polite smile also and turning on her heel to walk back over to the reception desk.

[ Mirian Santiro | Reception | Waiting Room...Or Something | Honoghr | Location: RDMC Reception Area ] “Hnh,” her soft laugh was aimed at Juuma, and she said, “That's an understatement.”
Waiting around, she glanced restlessly at the chronometer, “Grife, how busy is this place?”
That was when she was told that they'd be speaking to “A princess? Wow. I feel underdressed now. Right, c'mon guys.”
She rose and headed for the directions provided for her and her...crew. She only tripped once during the entire trip. Miraculous.

Luckily for Artifex, Honoghr was one of the safer places in the galaxy. Most denizens preferred to mind their own business rather than gawk at the extraordinary, allowing the otherwise concspicious Gand to hurry through the streets unmolested. He was clad in a simple brown robe, partly to better conceal his inhumanity, and partly to satisfy social expectations- though the bronze, chitinous exoskeleton beneath the robe left nothing exposed that could be considered 'socially inappropriate'. Artifex instictively pressed his satchel closer to his side as he passed by some of the darker alleys of Honoghr. Although the streets were safe, Artifex left nothing up to chance.
Finally arriving at the RDMC, the Gand was more than pleased to step inside, nearly running into a security guard, who responded with a quick lookover and a gesture to proceed.
Artifex smoothly moved up to the reception desk, taking note of the impressive security of the room- cameras, guards, and droids. Unexpected. This is a hospital, not a military research base. But then, appearances can be deceiving. He nods politely to the receptionist. Taking a few moments to type into his wrist translator, he raises his arm as the computer states, in flat, male Basic: "Greetings. This one has heard of the RDMC - and its HAMR division - through the pipeline of the scientific community. He is quite interested in the research being done here. He believes he has come to the right place... is there any way that this one could set up a meeting with an official in charge of your organization?"

The RDMC reception was a nice calm steady stream of people, not too busy, and not too quiet. It was nice, it meant that the reception work was able to be handled in a timely manner. On this particular day, Terry was working alongside Betty at the desk and happened to be free when the Gand approached the counter. Terry offered forth a warm smile in response to the translators question Well, Dr Van Buuren, the head of HAMR Corp, is currently free and would be more than happy to meet with you, if you so prefer?

Artifex bows in near-astonishment, clicking and vocalizing rapidly, causing the translator unit to lag behind a bit. "This is most unexpected- but most welcome! This one was not expecting the honor of meeting with someone as prestigious as the leader of HAMR Corporation... This one would be more than delighted to talk to him, if he has accepted this one's request to meet. However... this one will require directions, as he is unfamiliar with the premises. It would be embarrassing to get lost in such a place when a meeting has been scheduled." Artifex is nearly bouncing up and down with excitement, in stark contrast to the flat monotone of the translator. "Thank you very much for your assistance."
Artifex could hardly believe his luck. The Director of HAMR Corporation, a massive scientific and medicinal institute- who also happens to be one of the leading cybernetic experts in the galaxy and an incredibly qualified doctor and researcher- wants to meet with me, an unemployed Gand with no credentials other than a few certification degrees from a backwater research academy most haven't even heard of. This could be my chance... As long as I don't accidentally offend him.

Terry gave a nod, before producing a map chip that would give the Gand directions to the HAMR Corp labs, and only to the HAMR Corp labsDr Van Buuren would be delighted to meet with you. The chip will give you directions to the lab, but if you head down that corridor, and take the lift to the next floor down, you'll be able to follow the signs straight to the lab...Terry then motioned off to his right, towards a corridor that had a sign marking the way to the lifts handing in it

Do you know what happens when you give way too much Force to a disembodied arm that once belonged a particularly powerful Ageless? You get Thingy! The living disembodied arm with the personality of a Golden Retriever. And don't ask about mind...that's just too weird. It has been some time now, but Thingy feels like it's time, to give people a hand. All puns totally intended, and there shall be many. She (yes, she's a lady...or at least, she came from one) rises from the empty bed she has been resting in and zooms off, streaking past an orderly and nearly slapping a nurse as she steps out of a room. But Thingy is the best Drift Flyer around, and quickly diverts around the nurse without even slowing down in the slightest.
She joins Terry at the lifts, floating beside him, waving at the guy, and then zooming out as soon as the doors part.
It's good to be back.

*Another trip to the Red Dawn Medical Complex, another session of learning from the trainers there. At least, that was the plan. Jake was taking his healing studies rather seriously, pleased with himself for finding what appeared to be his calling, and even more pleased that the doctors here were more than eager to lend their skills in teaching him.
Having just arrived with little more than a bag over his shoulder, he confidently strode across the familiar reception area up to the front desk, beaming as he greeted the woman there.* "Heya, Betsy! Is Doctor Shaewe busy?"
