She smiled faintly, gratified that he had understood and accepted her attempt to comfort him. The older woman ruefully reflected that providing solace to grieving people was not her forte, although her experiences had undoubtedly given her the knowledge and hands-on instinct needed to help others. There wasn't much more to say right now. The momentary awkwardness between the two of them seemed to have dissipated just as they were heading their separate ways for now. She'd catch up with him at dinnertime. For now, other issues claimed her attention.
Visibly bracing herself, the petite Jedi Master drew herself up to all five feet one and a quarter inches of her height before turning and pacing back into the Academy, the solid clip of her booted feet echoing in the hallways as hiding was not at all her intent.

Vikram, a short and stubby, jowly, gray skinned, mouse-eyed Sullustan working as a courier serving Coronet and other areas surrounding the city, has delivered packages of all shapes and sizes to all manner of residences and businesses, and so the rectangular, paper wrapped box - a little over a foot long and half of a foot wide - he carries beneath his arm as he walks onto the grounds of the Jedi academy and strides towards the steps leading up to the entrance is one of many similar boxes he has carried in the past. It is, however, his first time delivering something to the academy, and so he pauses at the top of the steps and brushes some dust from the sleeve of his brown uniform, straightens the cap on his head, and takes the box from beneath his arm to try out a few different ways to present it before, settling on one that seems respectful enough, rapping on the doors of the academy.
A young human female Padawan answers the doors, signing for the box which is addressed to Ael jade and Terra Kiros, and Vikram heads back to his speeder to deliver the next parcel on his route. The Padawan, having seen Master Jade only a moment ago, tucks the paper wrapped box beneath her arm and rushes down the halls to see if she can find Master Jade before the diminutive, white haired Master disappears somewhere within the halls of the academy.
"Package for you, Master," the Padawan says when she catches up with Master Jade. Handing the box over to Ael, the Padawan executes a quick but respectful bow, backing away and explaining, "Lessons. Lightsaber," before turning and bolting off to meet with her Master for said lessons.
The paper, when unwrapped, will reveal a simple wooden box that, when opened will reveal a bundle of ivory-colored cloth atop which sits a folded piece of paper. When the cloth is unbundled, two lightsaber hilts will be revealed: one regular-sized hilt, silver in color and sculpted to resemble flowing water; the other a plain and unadorned shoto hilt. The paper, when unfolded, will reveal a handwritten note . . .

With a flicker of warning in the back of her mind, Jade quickly sidestepped to the right closer to the wall. This was good because a couple seconds later the space she'd been occupying suddenly contained a young, frazzled-looking padawan who immediately thrust a parcel wrapped in brown paper into her hands. The sharpish words she'd been about to deliver for the unceremonious method of greeting died on her lips before she'd spoken. Even though the box was wrapped, she felt a tingle in her fingers. There was something here that she'd known well. It was like an elusive scent. She shook herself back into the present and tucked the box firmly into the crook of her elbow.
"Thank---" she realized she was speaking to open air by now and frowned slightly. Since when were padawans in such a hurry to get to their lessons?
The quiet echo of her footsteps followed her down the hallway as she looked for Will Sontir. That sense of familiarity kept digging into the back of her mind, bothering her. She firmly tamped it down for now and nearly yelled at the other Jedi Master in a flicker of impatience that surprised her.
Will Sontir!

Sabo had arrived at the entrance before Ael. Looking around, he watched the last bit of daylight filter through the building tops to cast the academy entrance into a pale dusky shadow. He leaned up against one of the pilars to await Ael and watch night arrive.

The last faint streaks of red were glowing bright before disappearing as nightfall advanced when the firm click of bootheels on the stone corridor floor heralded Jade's arrival just at the entrance of the Academy. She hardly needed to look to know where Sabo was and she promptly headed in his direction. Unlike the Old Republic Jedi, her outfit had more personalization than the rigid uniform. It followed the same basic pattern and cut, but the tunic and obi were green, set off by black tabards and belt, to which were clipped two lightsabers and her normal field-kit. Over it all was her black outer robe, hood down, and open in the front.
"You seem to be feeling a mite better, Master Alora," she greeted him when in near enough proximity to do so without conversing with the entire Academy.

Sabo turned, smiling at Ael's arrival. He bowed his head slightly in greeting, noticing her use of his formal title. He had thought the two had moved past such formalities, but knew she probably didn't want gossip around the academy to start analyzing the nature of tonight's dinner. He shrugged it off with no second thought.
"Well, call me old fashioned, but I still believe the promise of a full stomach and good company is enough to set even the heaviest minds at ease. Besides, what more can I do at present time." He noticed her attire, drawing the conclusion that his earlier thoughts were echoed in her appearance. "Where shall we dine tonight?"
He started to make his way down the front steps, and into the night, hoping to catch a taxi at the front gate.

Jade considered him for a moment, eyebrows arched quizzically. Then, she shrugged. "I suppose you are right." So far no one had found a way to rewind time, and in her opinion that was a good thing overall.
"Well, there are many tapcafs in Coronet, along with various nightclubs and restaurants. I have no specific preferences at the moment." She stepped a bit quicker to keep up with the taller Jedi as they headed away from the Academy and towards Coronet City. A brisk five minute walk would bring them to the mag-lev station from which it was easy to catch the regular train into the city. It was a very convenient arrangement for the denizens of the Academy and one of the perks of living on the edge of a well-developed metropolitan area.
She wondered momentarily if he'd been expecting her to dress up for the occasion. Humans were like that sometimes. But, for the most part she wore Jedi clothes, or a variation of the traditional uniform. Sandy khaki was not her top color of choice and she'd never actually worn robes of that color. The green and black was much more her. Sabo didn't seem too put out though, at least, not about something like that. She knew he was still grieving over the news he'd received earlier in the day.

Sabo slows down to allow Ael to catch up, it was more out of habit than courtesy, he was so use to having to shorten his stride due to his height. And having a sister that was shorter than 5 feet tall, just meant he had done it so often that it was second nature to him. Still, Sabo didn't mind, and as the mag-lev station came into view, they wouldn't be within sight of the academy soon anyways.
"Let's try a restaurant, shall we? Tapcafs don't have much of a selection, and nightclubs can be too loud for the conversation I was promised a few hours ago." He thought that a restaurant wouldn't draw notice to them, especially if they found a quite one. Perhaps a table in the back where no one could over hear them. He looks down at Ael, inspecting her attire, she certainly was dressed inconspicuously enough for a Jedi. Her new age order attire and his traditional robes would mark them as two Jedi out for a bite, nothing more.
He smiled at her, hoping to convey peacefulness. Sabo could sense her uneasiness, that much was clear. The potential rumors that could start here at the academy, for someone in her prominent postion, might be troublesome.
"Any good restaurants you'd recommend?"

"Hmmm," was the only audible reply as she thought about that. The vibration of the station floor, followed by the eery quiet and the hiss of wind as the train slid into the station and halted to disembark and embark passengers occupied her attention for a moment or two. The two Jedi got on a nearly empty car and Jade led the way a bit back from the doors and took a hold on the railing overhead to balance herself. She liked standing up on the train. It gave a better view and was more 'fun.'
Though she had been momentarily uneasy, it was nothing to do with Sabo himself. Rumors would flow where they would. Denied rumors simply grew faster. They didn't really bother her anymore. "There's the Hungry Smuggler, I suppose," she smiled, aware that the name was almost painfully cliche, but this was Coronet City and there were literally hundreds of restaurants and tapcafs with name variations on that theme. "Visiting the local restaurants isn't really something I do on a regular basis. The Academy mess-hall usually suffices." She'd probably have to focus in order to eat her dinner slowly enough that she wasn't done well before the other Jedi. Frankly, she never really took much time for meals. Ingesting food provided the body with the energy it needed to keep functioning. So, there were plenty of things she could learn when it came to food.
"You do a lot of traveling?" she inquired, swaying slightly with the motion of the train as she turned to look at him.

Sabo followed Ael onto the Maglev Train, grabbing the overhead hook next to her's. "Apt name, isn't it?" was all he responded he choice of resturant. Given the fact that Corellia was the birth place for one of the Galaxies most famous smugglers in its history, Sabo imagined there were a lot of establishments taking advantage of Captain Solo's affiliation with the planet.
He was puzzled by her response, not that he, himself, hadn't consumed most of his meals in an Academy mess hall. But those were on planets where food availability didn't extend past the Academy itself. On his often trips to the Galactic Capital, he always went somewhere in the vast cityscape for a meal or two. "I enjoy sampling the local cuisine when I can."Exotic food was one of his hobbies that he often partakes in when traveling.
Sabo turned to look out the view port as the train started moving, watching as the Academy faded away, the lights of the city beginning to dominate the skyline. "I'm a Jedi."was his response to her question. Ael would understand that this was both a statement and an answer to her question, as Jedi went wherever they were needed, and wherever the force took them. He sighed, turning back to her. "Though, as you could probably tell back on the rooftop, I'm not like most Jedi."

Jaecyn steps out from the hangar bay, into the adjoining entrance hall. Clad in his armored flight suit, helmet and duffle in hand, and an engrossed manner about him, he set off to find a person of leadership here, in the academy. If memory served him well, Kel'al was still an authority, and Serrin was also to be found here. Rumors and whispers also had it that Ael was here. Any one of them would be of worth talking to on the matters that brought him here. With a purposeful stride, mindful as always his surrounding, and yet with a decent sense of urgency, he took in a direction passing the training halls.

The droid was familiar with the names and profiles of all the leading Jedi of the galaxy, and after a half-second's surprise, he moved quickly to greet the Jedi as he approached, clad in his flight suit and carrying a helmet and duffle bag.Oh my, excuse me, Master Riddick, this is a most unexpected visit. He exclaimed in his prissy voice as he hurried forward, his servomotors whining faintly. What, may I ask, brings you to Corellia today? Are you here to meet with the Academy Council, or just on a friendly visit to your fellow Jedi? Master Raganella is away on travel, as is his tendency lately, but I am sure one of the other Masters would be happy to make time for your, whatever your mission is. And if not, I would happily entertain you in the dining hall. We have the most delightful crepes today, or so I am told. And so on. The droid seemed quite capable of talking and asking redundant questions for the rest of the afternoon, if Ja'Sean let him.

Important matters first, however, and would much care to have the ear of the council at their earliest convenience. Until then, I suppose there is no harm in being where I am to be easily found among friends. Lead me to the dining hall, if you would, and be sure to inform the first councilor you find that I would like to have words with them.

He turned to lead Master Riddick toward the Dining Hall, then paused, his gaze falling on the man's duffle bag. Would you like to leave your bag in the Guest Quarters on our way? There's no need for you to carry that around with you like a homeless peasant. We have the very finest in guest accommodations upstairs, and I am sure my masters would be very upset with me if you did not make yourself at home. The droid really was incapable of conserving his time or his words. It simply wasn't in his programming.

As I make my way to the academy entrance after completing my meditation, I see C3-P9 escorting a familiar face inside, and quicken my pace to catch up with the duo; from the bag in his hand it seems clear that Ja'Sean has just arrived, and as it is C3 accompanying him rather than one of the headmasters of the academy I gather that the headmasters are otherwise engaged at the moment.
Reaching Ja'Sean and C3, I clear my throat to attract their attention as Tchun, my left lekku swishes behind my back to curl around the outside of my hip as I bow in greeting when they turn, saying, "Hello, C3. Master Raddekh, welcome. Rising from the bow, I clasp my hands behind my back, smiling as I say, It is good to see you again, Master Raddekh. It has been quite some time, has it not? I hope you have been well?"

I trust you do remember my distaste for titles. I am well, all things considered, and it does me good to see you again. I trust the time since our last meeting have seen you in the same way.

Playfully affecting a wince when gently reproached for using Jaecyn's title when I should have remembered that he prefers it be dispensed with, I smile apologetically and explain, "An old, rather persistent habit I'm afraid I shall never manage to break, unfortunately. I trust you will forgive me the one slip, Jaecyn? Seeing no need to inflict my recent personal troubles upon him, I answer Jaecyn's question with a smile, I have been tolerably well, and then borrow his phrase, all things considered. Motioning to convey to C3 that I will take over, I tell the droid, Thank you, C3, and then, returning my attention to Jaecyn, gesture towards his bag as I offer, Can I show you to the guest quarters? Clasping my hands behind my back as I await his answer, I ask, To what do we owe the unexpected pleasure of your visit, Jaecyn?"

=C-3P9= Of course, Master Roma, you are welcome. The prissy droid responded in his slightly tinny voice. He was surprised by the sudden and timely arrival of Master Roma, whom he had not seen for some time. But it wouldn't do to reveal his poorly-informed state in front of their guest. Master Raddekh and I were just on our way to the Dining Hall, but I shall quietly take my leave of you now. I don't wish to be a burden by speaking too much when you surely have important matters to discuss. He paused, then continued, apparently unaware of the irony of his words. Self-awareness was certainly not a part of his programming. Do be sure to give him a thorough tour, though, yes? Please tell me you will.

"You are anything but a burden, C3, I assure the droid with a smile, sure not to let my amusement with it's customary nattering on and on show. I've never fully understood the affection some harbor for their droids, but C3, be it due to mere familiarity or its endearing eccentricities, does make it easier to understand how such affection could arise given that I have come to appreciate it as more than a simple tool, and have in all likelihood even developed something akin to affection for it. Inclining my head in a respectful bow, I tell C3 solemnly, I will be sure to give Jaecyn a tour that, while certainly incapable of rivaling your incomparable tours, C3, I hope will do you proud all the same."
