A 3-Z freighter descended from the heavens, following the landing protocol to a tee. The ship touched down lightly and after a few minutes of shutting down the engines and systems, the ramp extended to reveal a large, white furred Cathar in some cargo pants, boots and a jacket that had seen better days. He looked a bit dirty and dusty, but his posture and stride gave him away to the casual observer. He was military. Had to be, only they were so stiff and formal.
He presented the credentials he was given and with a few raised eyebrows, he and Mel were shown into the facility while a low rumble of thunder rolling in from the distance, as a storm front loomed on the horizon. The night was growing as the light faded behind the curve of the planet. It looked ominous from their vantage point as they were escorted to the detention center.

She hated this job, hated it from the top to the bottom. Not to mention, she was still pissed about the terms of the release from the Imperial prison. Now landing at another Imperial base, she was less than thrilled to discover they were heading to another detention center. She eyed the Cathar pensively, at least she knew him.
Her eyes swept the area, looking for vantage points and memorizing the layout in case things got dicey later. Professional hazards with assassins, she never wanted anyone to get the drop on her. Always be prepared for a fight to break out when it was least expected. Better to always expect one. Even though the Imperial Remnant was now part of the Empire, it didn't mean that everyone was hunky dory with a regime change at the lower levels. There could be disgruntled staff, or a rebel element. Maybe that's why they were not in official Imperial uniforms or a Imperial ship.
Something was fishy and she could smell an intelligence op a parsec away. Her nerves on edge, she walked into the facility a couple steps behind Demarus.

Cyril lead the four guards and Fel, his stifled gait slowing them enough that Demarus had enough time to hit a couple commands on his wrist com. It would send a coded message to Mel at the back of the group, and she was discreet enough that he wouldn't have to worry about her calling attention to herself as she checked it. They walked out to the landing pad where the freighter was running, but midway across the expanse of the decking, Cyril wheeled around on Galdaart, getting in his face hissing insults.
"You listen here, maggot. Don't get comfy with your new friends. I'll see you hanging from the rafters of a cellblock here if it's the last thing I do."
Demarus tugged at Cyril's arm to drag him back from Fel's face, but Cyril ripped his arm away from the leonine piece of space trash. Demarus bared his teeth at the outburst but that wasn't close to the end of it.
"And you. You go back to that group of sycophants that carry the bedsheets of that whore on Kuat and you tell them that the Remnant doesn't listen to the guff off a Sith trollup. I don't care what your bosses are planning, Fel's ours."
That was the straw for the Cathar. His jaw tightened and he growled low at the slick haired minor bureaucrat. His canine teeth bared at the man.
"Not. Any. More."
The thing about a Cathar is how large they look because of the mane and their broad shoulders. People fear large cats, and the Cathar species were known predators. So when one bared their teeth, that was what everyone was drawn to. The guards and Cyril were looking in his face and not at his hands as he gave Mel the go.

When they cleared the detention center, she felt the com on her wrist vibrate. She made like she was checking the time but got the quick gist of the message. Great. This was just want she wanted. She dropped back, fishing a pack of cigarettes out of her jacket and then a lighter, paying attention but acting casually as she could. She paced around where the door was, staying far enough back that it looked like she was just trying to be polite with the direction the smoke was blowing. She was really looking for a signal.
It didn't take long to come and she tossed the cigarette before her hands curled around her verpine shatter pistols. Walking towards the guards from behind, she fired two shots at each of them, dropping them instantly and two more shots for the guards in front of them. Cyril caught the failing of the guards out of the corner of his eye, but as he turned, he was greeted with the butt of Mel's gun. She slammed it into his face twice, dropping him to the ground and using the other to shoot both knee caps. She holstered the bloody pistol, handing the other to Demarus while Cyril cradled his broken nose.
Mel turned to Galdaart, fishing the keys to his binders out of her pocket. She wasn't smiling, her eyes trained on the door where reinforcements would come from. She dropped the leg binders on the ground, and stepped aside for him to get on the ship.
"D, two minutes. Mr. Fel, if you please, we're out of time."

Galdaart saw the steam building pressure from under Cyril's collar before he blew his lid, and took it all in stride when the man turned on him. Though his first instinct was to head-butt the bridge of the man's nose, he had to admit the pencil-pusher had a point, from a certain point of view. He did deserve to be here. For that, he'd receive no argument from Galdaart. But no self-respecting smuggler would allow anyone to get in his face like that without reprisal. Fire flashed behind Fel's eye as Demarus and Mel took action.
He didn't flinch, didn't shrink back when blood was spilled. He'd been on the trigger-end of enough gunfights to know how this one was going to end before it started. Even when Cyril lay in a spreading pool of his own blood, crying out at the pain from his ruined limbs, he stood stalk-still while Mel freed his legs. Nodded once when she suggested now would be a good time to leave, and took a single step over the prone form of his jailer towards the ship, and then paused. Crouching quickly, limp hair hanging in his face, Fel dropped his head close to Cyril's -- perhaps as close as the middle-manager had ever been to one of his charges.
I'm nobody's. Least of all yours.
He punctuated the statement with a vicious double-backhand, his hands still bound, resulting in a satisfying squishy noise as something broke in the man's face. Wasting no more time, Fel resumed his path, striding quickly to the foot of the 3-Z's boarding ramp.

Demarus let Fel get up the ramp before he put two into Cyril's chest. The body count was just what the handlers were predicting and Mel was closing the ramp as Demarus hustled into the freighter, headed for the cockpit pit. Everything was prepped for a fast takeoff and it didn't take long for Demarus to call out seat belts, the ship rising off the decking. "Buckle up. It's gonna be rough." He punched it before more guard could come pouring out to open fire on them. He radioed off the encrypted code words that signified a success and then killed coms traffic. They had to make hyperspace quick.
He darted through the atmospheric traffic, weaving through the lanes to orbit as fast as he could before the ground forces could scramble fighter support. Demarus was still sweating it though. Until they had disappeared into hyperspace, they weren't off the hook. They shot out the planet's grasp to open orbit, the blackness of deep space like the beckoning arms of a lover.

Patrolling the landing platform was all but the lowest forms of punishment for those who worked at the building. Nothing ever happened here, shuttles rising and falling, self important people walking past them without a second thought. Not even sure what he was being punished for Erebus walked along a section of the platform that was filled row to row with ships. Stopping he sniffed, normally he had filters in his suit that regulated the air and gave it a metallic smell. Here at the Capitol however there was no need for that, least of all in this building. As such when he smelt copper he did a double take. When one smells death it lingers with them forever. Copper, human piss and shit mixed into a unforgettable aroma of awful clung to the air.
Gripping his rifle tighter he walked slowly his feet not leaving the ground in a shuffle. White armour flashing as he rounded the corner he was greeted with the sight of dead gaurds on of which was the warden for the prison. Shit. Forgetting himself for a moment he ran over and checked their vitals. All had died, most sat in a congealing pool of their own blood. Send a medical team to the east side of the landing platforms, we have four men down. As he waited the clone moved into a more defensible position, with his back to the wall and some cover in front of him he waited with his finger on the trigger.
No one could get inside the building without permission and the proper paperwork whoever this was had to be of importance. As the other troopers turned the corner he stepped up after signaling them. Something is fishy about this, it's like they hadn't put up a fight. Whoever did this had their trust.

The Landing Platform, usually pristine in condition, was now a mess. Dropships and various craft attempted to land were soon blasted from the sky. These weren't allied transports, they were hijacked by rebels. Various squads of armored police and Stormtroopers formed barricades and defensive positions with various temporary emplacements. A commander patrolled the area just as the alarm went off. His gaze turned to a fleet of modified hovercraft that approached the platform.
Open fire! Shoot them from the skies!!
And soon the air was filled with laser fire, traded between rebels and Imperialists. Ropes went down from the craft as armed civilians dropped down and began firing at the Loyalist forces stationed on the platform. E-Web Repeating Blasters mowed down those unlucky while blasters picked off the rest.

A couple squads of Nova Troopers join Nicademus as he proceeds for a shuttle that would take him to orbit. In addition, 2,000 Stormtroopers of 45th Assault Group and 500 Shocktroops of Rancor Battalion would join the Moff on his venture for Kuat, the Imperial Capital. It was necessary security in light of what was happening to the Empire, the loss of an Emperor could make any friend an enemy. Once on board, a small formation of shuttles rush up and blasted off for orbit.

Setting the ship down in the private hangers was a blessing. Flying back over the Jewel of Deep Core was hard. No longer was it a pretty powerhouse. Months of riots had burned buildings, torn them down, and killed untold millions. Around the Center was a barren ring almost a kilometre wide. No doubt a killing ground, its soil forever stained with the blood of civilians.
Once inside though things seemed almost normal. Stormtroopers patrolling, gleaming walls and even a parking dispute. Hitting the button to lower the ramp the five beasts took one whiff of the air and shot off. Slinking down the ramp before Panno and Talon he watched them skirt in amoung the shadows and one jumping from ship to ship. A foreman walked over to greet them, but the Imperial Knight just held up his hand and shook his head. He was no dignitary that needed guiding. He was probably older than the man by a good 15 years, and had walked these halls before he was a twinkle in his fathers eye.
I dont suggest using your name around here. There are a lot of new faces since the end of the Mandalorian Crusade. A lot of good Knights died, but everyone knows the name of AWOL knights. It would be a shame to have come all this way to be chased off.
Although they would be ignoring the barracks where most of their compatriots stayed there was still a chance they could run into an old friend.
Heres hoping no one remembers your face.

The approach to the landing platform was slow and steady. She didn't wish to cause any kind of stir. She wanted to learn and the best way was to not get on the bad side of those one wished to hear from.
After a few minutes, the ship reached the landing area and she brought the ship down were told. Once it was settled completely, she began powering down her systems. Standing to her feet, she to Gavin nervously.
"So how should we proceed next?"

*Gavin stood to his feet, putting on his trenchcoat and placing his large sword on his back.*
"The best bet, is for you to take out your weapons, hold them up with your hands and in a position you can simply activate it from. We'll probably have to go through a few checks."
*Leading Anya out of the cockpit, he reached the boarding ramp and lowered it. As it did, he raised his hands so however was waiting wouldn't immediately try to attack them.*

Anya nodded as she put her brown cloak on and followed Gavin. As she walked she removed her Westar-34 blaster and lightsaber, holding the blaster backwards and the ignition switch of the saber away from her. As the ramp lowered, she put her hands up and began leading down it, stopping just at its base with Gavin beside her. She stayed like, waiting for instructions for what to do next.

To say they would have to be searched was an understatement. Upon walking down the ramp the two Jedi would see two dozen Imperial Stormtroopers and four Imperial Knights standing there. Not the usual greeting, after the attack on Coruscant every fortress world was on high alert for reprisal attacks. Their weapons not pointed directly at the two Jedi the stormtroopers did have their fingers on the triggers waiting for an excuse to fire.
Walking forward Panno, did his best to smile at the two as they walked down. Waving his right hand when he saw they had their weapons out as if to dismiss the gesture first he walked toward Gavin and held out his hand to shake it, then would do the same towards Anya.
Keep them, its not exactly like you can do much with them here.
His voice was very warm and welcoming as he spoke he turned around and beckoned to the others who came here with him to leave.
Sorry for the welcoming party, may I ask why two... Jedi have come to the Jewel of the Deep Core?
In case the red armour and Imperial insignia on his left wrist and cloak werent enough he moved the cloak enough to show his own lightsaber. Not a threat, just letting them know that they were also dealing with a fellow force user.

*Gavin lowered his hands and shook Panno's before nodding to Anya. Many things had been happening all over the galaxy recently and this was nothing unexpected.*
"I expected as such. From the Mando crusade, to the Empire restoring itself, and all the little bouts in between, being on guard for any surprises is the normality anymore. Trust is so hard to come by now a days." *Gavin's voice was calm and smooth, not deterred in the least by the welcoming party or that they were in unknown territory to their knowledge.* "I am Gavin Phoenix. This is my adopted daughter and apprentice, Anya Syen. We, however, are not Jedi. Nor are we from the Republic. We aren't tied to any order nor government, merely obey the rules wherever we are to keep things nice and peaceful."
*Folding his arms, he thought on how to present his request. He expected in the end that they would be denied learning. If one wasn't willing to commit, some didn't even bother trying to teach. He hoped that proved different here.* "As to why we are here. For the past five years I have been training Anya on how to use the Force and how to fight should she need to. She has now become quite capable for her age and I wish to expand her knowledge. I have yet to lean her training towards the light or dark as of yet for I wish for her to gain knowledge and understanding from many different sources so that when she is finished training with me, she can truly choose who she wishes to be and who to follow. To this end, I had hoped that she can learn from the Imperial Knights: their philosophy and beliefs, how they uphold themselves, how the fight and such. I believe that no person should be bound to a fate outside of their choosing."

Anya replaced her saber at her belt and the the blaster in its holster on the back-side of her belt. She then shook Panno's hand with a slight bow of her head. She remained silent as Gavin spoke, hoping, herself, that things went well.

Well this was unexpected. The Imperial Knight blinked and for a moment saw the world through the eyes of the force. What better way to discern a persons intent than through the force. He could see their auras, neither light nor dark it was some sort of colour in between and when Gavin spoke nothing flared but the truth. Blinking again Panno wondered about the mans gaze, he seemed almost angry to be here but he made no mention of it. Perhaps this human like many other was another xenophobe. Those he could deal with, and often took pleasure in their displeasure.
Its a pleasure to meet you Gavin and Anya, I am Panno Grai'Tal Master Armourer of the Imperial Knights. If what you say is true than I feel you will be welcome here, but I hope you will be willing to be escorted around by myself. Things are not always as they seem, no matter how innocent someone says they are. Teaching eh? Its been a long time since we have welcomed someone here who was not a hopeful to join our ranks, or some Imperial dignitary. He raised a gauntleted left hand up to stroke his chin, careful not to exert to much pressure lest he crush his chin with the stolen crushgaunt.
After a few moments of consideration he sighed heavily.
Some people around here may not like it but I can teach your pupil what I can. Turning his gaze to Anya he gave an apologetic smile. There are some things though that I cant. Every order needs to have its secrets and the Imperial Knights have many of those. And back to Gavin Thats a very noble sentiment, letting others decide their own fate, allegiance and stuff. Much better than the dogmatic views of the Jedi.
If one was to look into it there was a lesson there. The way he spat out the word Jedi could speak levels of his contempt for them. On a subconscious level he disdained the Jedi. Their teachings. How they would sit and deliberate rather than act, and when they did act it happened far to late. After trillions of deaths.
But there is not much we can do here with all these ships coming down. Tell you what Anya, we have an extensive library here in this facility if you want we can start there. Unless you are more into jumping into things head first, no thought for your own safety and learning as you go.

Gavin nodded. He understood that not all was what they seemed. Truly trained, one could easily slip in and be a spy without any being the wiser.*
"Of course, we have no problem being escorted around. We are guests, but also strangers that you nothing of. " *He gave a slight bow and smile as Panno mentioned the noble view he had of letting Anya decide her path.* "My brother and I have long believed that and was taught as such at the academy he built long ago." *He let his words end there as the rest of what was spoken was meant for Anya.*

Anya nodded as he spoke. "I completely understand. Unless one truly commits to a path, not all the knowledge that resides there can be learned. Perhaps, it is possible that one day I may return and get the chance to learn all there is as a Knight myself." Though she was young, the way she spoke, full and certain, revealed that despite her age, her ability to learn and understand was beyond her years.
Taking a moment, she thought on where to start. She had been able to quickly adapt to the things Gavin had taught her thus far, so jumping straight in didn't bother her. However, Gavin had always taken it step by step, ensuring that no bit of training was missed or skipped. With that in mind, she made her choice. "While I have no issue with jumping in head first, perhaps it would be wiser to start in the library."
Another moment passed as she recalled the position he held here and her interest peaked. "You say you are the head armorer here? You must be quite skilled. Have you made many types of weapons?"

Nodding he led the way towards the Library of Leadership. An odd name to be sure, but when you are trying to make the current warlord happy who commissioned its creation most would not argue. Weapons? My trade usually involves armour. Every suit you see a knight wearing is created by my hands, a tradition started by the original armourers has each new Master remake the armour when he takes his post. This way it ensures that the new techniques are always in use and our order has the best protection. Looking over his shoulder he flashed her a smile with his razor teeth and drew out his sword and showed it to her. I did make this though. I was told I was in the forge for three days making it without sleep nor food nor rest. So beautiful she should be on display but regrettably these are dangerous times we live in and it has to be used as an instrument of war. He held it out to the young girl to hold, hilt first. When she looked at it some of the more important things she would see, were the criss crossing zig zag pattern along the blade like lightning. Just like the lightning it also glowed slightly and pulsated giving off its golden hue and in its pommel rested a blue crystal of Dragite. Many more things permeated the sword, some easier to discern than others.
