I'm trying to take Octavious the Adi/Ki-Adi-Mundi route and becoming a Master without training a padawan, I feel the Shadows are more of a solo operation group or at least they aren't the type to run in large groups.

I think if anything it was more to keep the Jedi from having 12 year old masters of the Force. I'd rather Ray, Tyor, ... was there a third? just be accepted as masters. They are all good writers who know what they're doing. Don't want to echo Aer and Atton, but I agree. I believe I might be a third...or something.

I mean, if we want to get technical, Devlin's never actually had a Master ceremony. Never actually called him a master IC, either; still haven't (minus the droid NPC). It just sort of happened. I had him show up on Ossus looking for RP in 1.0 and introducing himself as "Jedi Devlin Dewe". Others kept calling him Master, calling him the leader of the Ossus Praxeum, and voting him onto Jedi Councils...so, it kind of became his title and role.
Oh, and he has trained Padawans to Knights IC. Not played by me...if that matters, lol.
Guess he's done a lot for a hermit, huh?
EDIT: I have called him "Battlemaster"after his role on Ossus became more official.

So if I'm following along, I should show up on Coruscant when I get the chance?

Ray? I think it has been common practice for a long time to at least start new characters at knight, establish themselves, then move up to Master. Adi did that, Monte is doing that, i think Aer did it, Kel'Al did it, etc. In point of fact, Kel'Al began as a 14 year old learner with some basic skill who had been raised in the Unknown Regions, beyond the knowledge of the Jedi, since he was kidnapped from the Corellian Academy at age 4. He was taken as a padawan after a month or so, knighted at 17 and became a master at 19 because that's how things moved on 1.0. We carried out a lot of RP in those 5 IC years, and if I were doing it over again, I would simply age him faster during the same amount of RP, I think. That's one reason I aged him through his 20s relatively quickly.

Raylia is a 38 year old archaeologist Jedi Master. She's not a battle oriented character. She works in the archives and libraries and occasionally in the field on digs. I'm more than capable of writing her with an appropriate power level and knowledge as I would follow the same guidelines with her as I do with Sin.

I don't know what you've got in mind, but I think having someone to write the Jedi archives and libraries on Coruscant could be very valuable. Welcome!

I should probably mention that Zion is also a Master, but if he wont be showing up in person to any sort of meeting, just holo messaging in if that is the case...

This went sideways real quick. I won't hinder you're opnions, but facts are that these past 3/4 years IRL, has been that people generally don't walk in as Masters. They hang around a bit and do some stuff and then become recognized as masters. It just makes for better development and relationships and it also validates those who have been here, earned their scars and wisdom etc. But if you rock on a Master level, we can't stop you.
I haven't heard a no to my plan.
so, yea Alan, head to Coruscant, all Masters. An ethereal timeline, just *pop* into the Spire.
biggest order of business, pick up to 5 of us to serve the HC.
then which enclaves to keep.
then how to end the Mando War.
everyone can contribute OOC to be sure. iC masters only.

In a slightly sad coincidence.. Mike was never anything other than a master. Way back in the day I had no idea what I was doing and just sort of dropped in..... so yeah.....

It hasn't been that way in rule though. Just a guideline as it helps character growth, like I think has been said. A decent backstory and I believe people are free to have a Master-classed character if they so wish though it was discussed a while back to have people go through the motions, as it were. It was never made a rule but was suggested as a form of etiquette in a way so as not to have every character ever created running around at Master-level. It was suggested that Force Powers and levels of mastery be written out on the boards as much as possible and noted in the blackstorys thoroughly, but was never a rule as far as I'm aware.

In any case, it's not a rule, people can do what they please (within reason) and that's that, and since it's not an important part of what we are doing let's move on shall we.
meeting for all masters on Coruscant, elect a new council, have some tea, see what we can do about the Mando's and begin moving forward with our wonderful lives and such.

No offense everyone, but given Monte's state of mind past Carida, the Battlefield promotion will be enough pomp for monte I want to clarify what i said previously: In my plans for Carida, Puck is dying, and as of time of writing this up, I have no intention of bringing the character back. (problem with that being Seeing puck as i did changed quite a bit between when I decided to let him "die" back on 1.5, and watching a lot of Kamen Rider since the break.) I still hold that as of current, Monte hasn't proven himself ready to be a masterā¦ But the way i had the "elevation" prepared between me and Adi, It fit for who i was. I like designing nice things, but i don't like to draw attention to myself. Also, after Carida, monte is going to be doing some soul searching that will result in the Order having it's Second Hermit. I admit that the planning leading up to this (back in october before halloween) had some OoC logic seeping in IC. Monte is turning the "Qui-gon Jinn" grey. I do not know how the new governing body will operateā¦ but as a rule of thumb, Monte may "Hear" the words of the council but he will only "Listen" when the direction the council gives lay along the same path as what Monte had planned on doing All that said, I will appear at the meeting. but not in the usual Chipper state of mind.

This person is -quite- capable of writing as a Master. Considering the fact that she was on 1.0 and 1.5 as well, I'd say she's quite able to claim herself as a Master. Tyor as well. Considering that some fresh blood is needed in the Jedi pool, I'd say we should look at all options...not discount them at the first whispers of them.

I think it's already decided that we are allowing them and moving on... and if not... well this is me saying that's what is happening. Truthfully I think it was just a bit of confusion anyway. So we Have them and everyone else, but Adi isn't invited... just because...
