I'm here, although given my current time commitments, I definitely shouldn't be on the council.
Corellia needs a bit of revamping and dusting off, too... ever since Serrin left, we've been largely inactive.

NPC's?!?
FRACK IT, I am taking over and claiming the seat of GRANDMASTER
I will take my throne in the High Temple, and no one will get to play Jedi!
No longer, while I am in charge! To preserve the purity of the Order, I cannot allow anyone else in!!!
. . . .
unless you guys don't like that idea, then i am open to suggestions. . .

Kel'Al's father's force ghost is going to come back from the grave and kick all of your hindquarters if you don't behave!

Well, if Will's Grandmaster, that leaves me with no more responsibility. I'm going back to my jungle meditations. No office hours for me. No city life. And, especially, no worrying about angering a stuffy old Force ghost. Thanks!

What if we focused on one Academy at a time? Less division, more rp in one spot...
Just my two cents.

What if we focused on one Academy at a time? Less division, more rp in one spot... Just my two cents. I think you're on the right track there. Even if we don't take it to the extreme of focusing on only one academy at a time, we should look for ways to take turns spreading the RP wealth around. If we are one united Jedi Order, then ultimately, from an IC perspective, all the academies belong to all of us, and we should want to see all of them prosper.

Just an outsider here: but to my credit, I used to be part of the order WAY back on facebook. And as I'm looking to get more involved once more... The seemingly inherent flaw with the order seems to have always been the cliquishness of the different praxeums and academies...what if you guys do not only this: What if we focused on one Academy at a time? Less division, more rp in one spot... Just my two cents. But also made it more or less mandatory to rotate masters and staff and such of said praxeums? Make sure everyone RPs with everyone. Or perhaps, made a special group whose sole purpose was to visit other praxeums. Some time ago I bounced the idea of a praxeum ship around the Jedi for a spell before I got involved with the smugglers. What if that got revived? The group is composed of Jedi characters who want or are willing to RP outside of their comfort zones, and the praxeum ship jumps from academy to academy to infuse locations with less RP with a more active base. Some places such as Ossus or Corellia who have been drooping lately seem like they would benefit from such a thing. Again, just bouncing ideas, but I for one dont want to see you guys fall apart or anything...but obviously times are changing.

Nightingale -- Aerandir and I and a few others once tried to set up an exchange program to rotate students and masters on a voluntary basis. Perhaps we should bring it back. I don't think we would need to rotate everyone in order to accomplish a lot of good (nor do we have the power to force everyone to participate). There would need to be an incentive and a defined length of the exchange for it to work, I think. We could put a fixed time limit on it or and tie it to training requirements - once you've learned this skill, or taught this skill, you can leave.

That seems to resonate for some reason...if force powers and skills were divided up evenly among the academies, then training / teaching that skill would be tied to that location. Seems like it would force cooperation through the academies. If you coupled that with the exchange program, then perhaps that would be enough to infuse the Order with an air of acceptability and vitality as it were.

We certainly need something that mixes writers together and moves people from location to location but also serves a constructive IC purpose. Meeting and writing with more people has lots of benefits beyond reducing cliques, too -- it could help you find a master, apprentice, rival, etc.

I like the idea as well, especially since it will allow those who have yet to choose a "home praxeum/academy" to get a taste of each option. I also think that the Temple on Coruscant would serve nicely as a central hub for the order where the High Council can meet, via hologram if necessary/more convenient, and where the Jedi can be more easily accessible to the Republic and other writers who may wish to interact with them. I could very much see Tyor settling down on Coruscant and spending much of his free time trying to help those in need in the lower levels of the cityscape.

We could set it up like the US military, then. One planet serves as a central headquarters. From here, Jedi are either "deployed" to do missions or they "PCS" ("permanent" change of station) in which said Jedi would be sent to other Praxeums for a time. I agree with Tyor about the Coruscant temple. While I identify as a Yavinite, Coruscant really was a starting point for the Jedi and I think it's just as—if not more than—important as Yavin was to Luke.
