Satish smiled smugly as the trio of Knights approached him, readying himself all the while to take them all on. And then the female Imperial Knight signaled for the pair behind her to stop. To think that she was facing him on equal footing by shedding her armor and weapons was a foolish notion. He shook his head as she unignited her blade and stated he would be free to leave Dathomir should he win You and I both know that is a lie... Now face me! He would not allow her to shed her armour. If he was to die, he would do it when they were on truly equal footing. His tattoo's flickered and ran a deep earthen brown as he slid his right foot forward, his right hand forming a fist in a gesture that looked as if he was punching an invisible foe in the gut. The spirits of the Earth came to his command, rushing through the ground. Before leaping up toward the lead pair of Imperial Knights in the form of small pillars of rock rapidly sprouting at an angle towards them You're going to want that armour and blade...
Ebony stayed seated upon her throne, watching the battle. Her gaze settling upon the third Imperial Knight, as he stood back. Waiting to see if he would try rush to his compatriots aide or not
As the Imperial Forces started to land, The combined Witch and Shaper forces fought back against them, with shots being rained down by the SPHA and the flying Turolaser cannons. Meanwhile, the groups heading from the Jedi Temple and the Trade Outpost were soon waylaid by Imperial battalions supported by dissenting Witch Clans. Their casualties were initially taken by surprise, before the Shapers and Loyalist Witches turned to fight the traitors

Whether or not she would have been able to best their target in unarmed single combat or if Brock would have obeyed her order if she were to fall in that battle will never be known, their foe arrogantly denying them all to know those answers by deciding to force their hands. Faina is given little chance to consider the questions at any rate, pillars of rock erupting from the ground and noisily spearing towards her and Brock. Trusting Kortos to watch over the female on the throne in case she should be so brave as to enter the fray, Faina focuses her attention on their target. Dodging around the rightmost pillar, Faina ignites her silver hued lightsaber and holds it out to her right side on a horizontal angle as she charges towards their target while lifting her left hand as though preparing to Force push their foe.
Instead of a Force push, however, Faina clenches her hand into a fist in an attempt to both telekinetically pin their foes arms to his sides to distract him and, by lifting her fist, to telekintelically lift him into the air to deny him mobility as well. With a sudden burst of speed, Faina attempts to close the distance between her and their foe, darting to his left side to alter her trajectory in an effort to make the charge towards him a feint, and arcs her right arm upwards and out so that, should her efforts to pin his arms and lift him succeed, she bisects him at the waist . . .

Brock couldn't help but be a little happy when the despot decided to go for all out combat. It saved him the moral question of if he should interfere or not. Spinning in the opposite direction of Faina, managing to roll past the right side of the earthen spears just in time he came up on one knee and sent two of his hidden knives flashing out of his left gauntlet and into a force enhanced trajectory toward their opponent. Shifting tactics and naturally falling in flow with Faina he kept his position and reached out toward the man with the force, preparing to repeat the same maneuver Faina had to hold him in place immediately if he managed to break free from her. It wasn't a move they had specifically practiced before but they had long experience working together gave them a solid foundation for this sort of combined fighting. Hopefully they could end it quickly before too many more surprises came out of the massive ruler of the soon to be liberated planet.

In a moment of what could only be described as equal parts skill and luck, Satish had dodged out of the way of the female Knights hold, before being trapped by the male Knights follow up grip. Their blades trisecting him a few moments later.
Ebony had moved from her throne to attack the pair of Imperial Knights, but soon found the third Knights blade protruding from her chest. Having missed him silently slipping around behind her several moments before hand

Faina clenches her jaw as, while charging towards their target, she feels him slip free from her telekinetic grip, her mind racing to determine how to adjust for the change in circumstances; but then she sees their foe's confusion and frustration as his arms clamp tight to his side, his feet lifting from the floor, and follows through with her initial plan of attack, grateful that Brock had, as so many times before, anticipated her play and backed it up as easily as if they had discussed it beforehand.
The sickening, final sounding thud of their foe's body falling to the floor is followed by the low, silken humming of lightsabers, the distant thunder of the battle being fought outside the fortress faint for now but gathering in intensity with every passing moment, and Faina turns to the throne just as Kortos unignites his lightsaber so that the Matriarch's body collapses to the floor, and then stands up and turns to look at Brock, who looks as surprised as she feels that things have come to so sudden an end. The moment, briefly, feels unreal, as though they are victims of some illusion meant to lull them into a false sense of security; but then an explosion shakes the fortress as artillery fire rains down upon it and the moment passes.
Though there mission is complete now that Satish lays dead, Faina tells Brock and Kortos, "To the blast door controls, on me," and then makes her way from the room, intent on aiding the First Order's ground forces in taking the fortress by opening the large blast doors that she had seen being closed while on approach to their objective.

There was a sudden silence outside of the fortress... followed by an ever-growing sound, an increasingly heightening humming noise. At the main doorway into the fortress, the metal began to melt and twist slightly. Outside, the siege cannon had been brought into position. Its presence forcing First Order troops to move out of the way and causing exterior defenders to run for cover. The humming grew louder and louder, the heat upon the main doors causing a small hole to appear through the metal. Then, a loud thuum was heard. Followed by a loud explosion... the main entryway into the fortress had been blasted apart and turned into nothing but smoldering and twisted metal.
Even before the metal truly cooled, First Order Stormtroopers charged into the breach as the assault was renewed onto the fortress. Even though Satish was dead, there was still the necessary operation of cleaning up the fortress of the enemy and ensuring the vacuum was present for loyalist clans to take control.

Mara had felt a pinprick on the back of her neck when Satish and Ebony had been slain. But the Matriarch had no way of knowing for sure what the cause was. Especially when the First Order was descending upon them so quickly. She pulled Morgan and Laney close when she heard the humming noise, proceeded moments later by the blast that reduced the blast door down to nought but ruins. As the Stormtroopers flooded through the new entrance, Witches within the baths grabbed hold of their assorted weapons and charged naked toward the invaders, letting loose a barrage of return fire and weapon strikes.
Mara looked down at the two girls. Knowing that now was the time to get them to the backup plan. She motioned them towards their gear We don't have much time, grab your belongings! We have to go!

*Too much was happening, too swiftly. Morgan sensed it all and wondered why they weren't moving. Then she felt it, the life being snuffed out, claimed from their hosts and returning to the Force. Mara had tried to keep her and Laney close when the ominous humming could be heard, but Morgan instead opted to arm herself, tossing her bow and quiver over one shoulder and grasping the hilts of her whip and lightsaber. She stumbled as the blast doors burst open, but the witches were less-disturbed as they charged forward into battle.
As Mara instructed them to gather their belongings, Laney didn't hesitate, grabbing both of their bags and slinging them as she took up her lightsaber in her other hand. Morgan's green blade ignited, followed by a blue one from Laney.*
"Gotta admit," *said Laney with a nervous edge,* "this is kinda hot."
*Morgan managed a chuckle, but no humor showed on her face. Survival was priority, appreciation could come later.*

The need to find the controls for the blast doors gone when the doors fall to fore from the First Order's siege cannon, Faina leads Brock and Kortos into the battle that follows the destruction of the blast doors. As Stormtroopers surge through the smoking ruins of the blast door and engage the Witches that rush forth to meet them, Faina and her fellow Imperial Knights ensure that the Witches have nowhere to retreat as, fighting in concert with one another in the unique Praetoria Ishu style of the Imperial Knights, they join the fray with their silver hued lightsabers deflecting blaster fire and cutting down the Witches unfortunate enough to oppose them.

Mara muttered a quick spell, sending several tendrils of lightning from her finger tips at a pair of stormtroopers that were rushing toward them. The soldiers fell to the ground dead, their muscles still convulsing from the electricity running through them still Stay close! Mara picked up her energy bow and slipped it on her back, before arming herself with one of her swords. Once Morgan and Laney were ready to go, she headed toward the back of the bathing cavern. Witches and Shapers were spread throughout, fighting in groups to try and repel the First Order. Mara muttered a couple quick spells here and there, sending waves of energy to knock stormtroopers over here and there. She cut down several others with her blade. Stopping on one of two occasions to switch out to her energy bow to shoot some unsuspecting troopers from afar
The Witches and Shapers fought on, even as the First Order Stormtroopers and Imperial Knights had them on the back heel. They would defend this place to the last. Or at least long enough to ensure that their visiting guests got away safely

*Death. Death already permeated the air. Witch, Imperial, it didn't matter, the many lights being snuffed out all around Morgan were impossible to ignore. She nearly stumbled until Laney caught her and kept her steady. Troopers fired on them, eager to notch a Jedi death into their belts—even if it were only a child. Morgan managed to retain her wits enough to bat away bolts that came near, even lashing out with her whip to disarm and disorient various troopers; had the whip not responded to her will, she may not have been as accurate as she would've liked.*
"How are we getting out?" *she asked Mara, glancing up as Lokay sailed overhead.*

That's a secret... Just follow my lead. Mara dove forward into a roll, before coming up in a kneeling position as she shoot a pair of Stormtroopers with her energy bow. The Fortress was steadily filling with more and more Stormtroopers as the defenders numbers dwindled away to nothing. A handful more Stormtroopers started to close in on them then, trying to force a victory through superior numbers.
Mara prepared herself to fight until her last breath, or even sacrifice herself so that the two girls would have a chance to escape. A war cry went up then, as several of Mara's clanswomen jumped into the fray. Cutting the Stormtroopers down and clearing the way forward for them Matriarch! Hurry! Mara nodded as she lead Morgan and Laney deeper into the fortress. Finally getting free of the bathroom cavern and into the myriad of tunnels that ran through the mountains interior. There were many different hidden passages in and out of the Fortress. Quite a few were well known to all within the Fortress. Others were more restricted in their knowledge to different Matriarchs. But there still remained a few that were unknown to anyone bar a select couple of people. Some because they were kept secret amongst the Nightsisters. But the one they were headed for, was a new one created by the Shapers.
They rounded a corner then and rushed into the arena that Satish had been training Morgan and Laney in earlier. Mara came to a stop however, as they came face to face with a group of Stormtroopers. She let loose a war shout before firing off several shots from her bow as she charged forward, hoping to keep moving to deny them a target

*As they entered the arena and were faced down by a large group of troopers, the two girls froze. Morgan only did so briefly, quickly coming back to life prepared to fend off any of them who ignored Mara. Laney, meanwhile, was rooted in place almost out of fear that this was the end. She could fight. Had trained for it even. But never had she actually been thrown into battle.
Yet Morgan hadn't backed down, providing what little backup she could to the Matriarch. Briefly and suddenly, she felt a pang of guilt as she realized she was only watching them fight instead of helping. The half-Zeltron looked around the chamber before noticing the caged rancors still present. She gulped... then set her brow as she dashed towards the cage.
They could sense their fear, Mara had said. Whereas then the instruction was to calm herself, Laney instead harnessed it. But her fear had a target, a purpose... she could only hope the beast understood. It growled as she approached... but not at her. Its eyes were clearly focused beyond her. She slashed the gate's latches with her weapon; she barely had enough time to roll out of the way as the rancor burst from its confines, roaring as it advanced upon the stormtroopers ahead of it.*

Mara had turned her focus to the fight with the Stormtroopers, meaning her awareness of Morgan and Laney became more of a peripheral thing. She fired off several more shots, before switching back to her sword as Morgan provided her direct backup. Dodging to the side here and there as the girls whip flew past her to take a Stormtrooper by surprise. And then she felt something shift way beyond her immediate focus before she heard the roar.
She was impressed. But not so much so that she lost focus as she withdrew from the fight, moving Morgan out of the way of the Stormtrooper fire. But it was quickly diverted to the Rancor that Laney had freed. The massive beast swung its arms to send trooper flying, while grabbing for others to crush within its jaws. With the distraction now keeping the Stormtroopers focus, Mara lead Morgan around to where Laney was, before leading the pair into the cage the Rancor had come from.
She waved her hand over a spot in the back of its cage, causing a hidden door to unlock and open inward. She ushered the two girls inside, before slipping through and closing the door. The tunnel beyond was low lit enough that they could manage to navigate its twists and turns with relative ease. The thing rock walls silencing the sounds of battle that filled the rest of the Fortress Quiet the initiative there Laney... You would have made a great Witch one day... But I'll settle for knowing you'll grow up to be a fine young woman some day... At last they came to the end of the tunnel, where Mara activated the lock and lead the girls into a small valley deep within the mountains. In the middle of which, sat an escape craft capable of fitting the two young girls with ease. Mara opened the door and started the escape crafts systems, inputting its destination as the Felucia System Hurry and get strapped in. The sooner we get you going, the better...

*The sudden rancor roar made Morgan look aside in shock, but seeing Laney beside it made her realize what was going on. Immediately she withdrew with Mara as the troopers now had an even bigger, more dangerous target to deal with. Morgan grinned at Laney as they caught up to her; the half-Zeltron managed a nervous grin in return.
They had no time to relish in her victory as Mara led them into the cage of all places. The girls frowned, but, upon revealing the secret passage, quickly kept up and slipped into the caves. It didn't take long to locate some sort of escape craft, which Mara opened and began prepping for launch. The girls didn't hesitate to slip inside, Morgan beckoning Lokay within. It was only after the tailring joined her that she realized the problem.*
"But this thing's too small!" *she said.* "How are the rest of you getting out?!"
*She refused to admit to herself that she already knew the answer.*

Mara gave a reassuring smile as Morgan questioned how everyone else was going to get out. She placed her hand on the young girls shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze This is our homeworld... The jungles are vast and deep, plenty of places for us to hide. Just as you could not simply abandon Felucia, we cannot abandon Dathomir... She reached up to her hair and pulled a long bone pin from it, causing several strands of her hair to fall loose as she presented the item to Morgan You will make a fine Rancor rider one day... To help you on that path, I want you to have this. It was taken from a Rancor matriarch and blessed by the spirits. It will help you find your companion... And keep your hair in place... She slipped her energy bow off then and handed it to Laney, knowing that the half-zeltron would have much better use for it Despite your fears, you overcame them to help your friend... Take this young warrior. There are many and more of these here... With the gift given, Mara moved back and started to close the door to the escape craft. Stopping only as the door was almost locked, noticing the girls lack of clothing Make sure you put some clothes on, it might be a little cold up there... She closed the hatch then, and locked it. Causing the ships auto launch system to activate. Mara stood back and watched it take off into the sky, waiting for it to disappear up into the abyss before taking off through the canyon to disappear into the jungles of Dathomir...

*Morgan wanted to argue the point, but Mara was right: She wouldn't dare leave Felucia, even if it came under assault. Laney too nearly protested, but she also understood the point and begrudgingly kept silent. The gifts they took just as reluctantly, trying to contain their emotions; and again, in Laney's case, her protest, until Mara said they had more energy bows where that came from.*
"May the Force be with you," *Morgan managed before the door closed, with Laney echoing her. As the craft launched into space, Morgan held Lokay close while Laney clutched the bow.*
"How could we just run?!" *the half-Zeltron choked as the craft rapidly ascended the atmosphere.* "We could've... We..."
*Laney's head was bowed, but Morgan could hear the tears. Not that she could see them through her own blurry eyes, even if Laney had been looking directly at her.* "We're just two girls! Not even fully-trained! We couldn't do anything!"
*Laney was silent for a moment before finally looking up.* "... I know. I know, and that's the worst part! If we stayed, we would've died, but we're still leaving them to die!"
*Morgan stared at the wall beside her, finding herself wishing there was a viewport to look out of, but maybe that was for the best.* "They... they're the malkloc... and the First Order is the rancor..."
*Laney blinked a few times.* "What?"
*Morgan looked back at her, lip quivering.* "Th-the lesson... About the in-injured malkloc and—"
"But those are animals! These are villains!"
"There's nothing we can do, Laney!"
*Laney withdrew and stared down at her lap. Morgan felt just as stung by her own acceptance. Sighing, she added,* "J-just remember, even rancors have predators. Their time'll come too."
*An alert sounded, notifying the girls of an imminent jump to hyperspace. They braced on just long enough as the craft made the jump before steadying itself. Morgan took in her own assurances, somewhat amazed at herself for coming up with it. This only softened the blow; the pain was still there.*
"I certainly hope so," *Laney said at last.
Their eyes met and they held each other's gaze. Just talking clearly wasn't enough comfort, and they could see that plainly despite the glistening in their eyes. As the craft continued its hyperspace journey, they set aside their held items, undid their crash webbing, and embraced.*

Kalzaz, the Mother of the returning Nightsisters, walked through the Fortress, taking in the chaos that had unfolded here. Carbon scoring, broken furniture, smashed windows and skeletal remains were strewn about. It has been a tumultuous few months, but Kalzaz had managed to unite the remaining Nightsisters and forage towards the long-standing Fortress that would become their home. Uninterested in the transpiring events throughout the galaxy at large, rebuilding was more important right now. And so, it would commence. Her fellow sisters would begin to help and enlist the local Nightbrother population to aid them. Soon the Nightsisters would return again, and continue on as they always had.

Rebuilding and re-establishing themselves on Dathomir, after the Shapers had taken hold, was a significant challenge. The First Order had ravaged the Fortress along with the Shapers, those loyal to Satish and Ebony, and left the 'dissenting ' Witch Clans as they had been labeled to fend for themselves, or even support the Imperial attack. Outsiders had been allowed to persist. They had been allowed to manipulate. And they had been allowed to mingle with the clans. An error that was going to be rectified with the establishing of Mother Kalzaz's coven. The Nightsisters, and the underling Nightbrothers has suffered too much at the hands of those too inept to stand on the loyalty and principle that kept the Nightsister Clans united and strong. No more, would they suffer at the hands of outsiders.Having the throne room cleaned and repaired was not a priority, however, it had been done. Or at least to the specifications of Mother Kalzaz. Honoring their roots, the sparsely decorated room held several sigils on the walls, as well as a few paintings done by the Nightbrothers. Aside from that, it was bare, allowing the red-hued rock to show. As primitive as the Fortress may have seemed, it was certainly far from it. Powerful in the dark side and aided by the magicks of the Nightsisters, Dathomir was deceiving. The local fauna and flora were deadly in most faces. The Grave Thorn that grew around the Fortress held dozens of burial pods containing the remains of their fallen. Eerie and ominous, the local fauna didn't add to the sense of impending doom one received from being in the Fortress. Bane Back Spiders hindered travel around the fortress for those unwelcome. Nydaks, wandering the settlements outer regions, prevented and discouraged the curious. And then there were the Chirodactyls. With a cave near the Fortress, kept in check by the Nightsisters themselves, they deterred nearly anyone else. All in all, unless provoked, the Nightsisters of Dathomir were the least of one's concerns when visiting or attempting to traverse the planet.*
*Despite all of the potential dangers and horrors the planet held, Mother Kalzaz was proud of her coven. The Fortress had been re-established in the months following her return. The little trade and commerce that did visit Dathomir had resumed upon the repair of the Trade Outpost. The Jedi Praxeum sat empty and abandoned as the dark roots of Dathomir slowly reclaimed it. And the Star Temples, in which the Infinity Gates resided, were once again secured via enchantment to prevent unwanted use or abuse. And given the capabilities of the Infinity Gates, Mother Kalzaz herself, ensured the enchantments could not be broken without her help.

Every so often, emissaries of the Conclave came to the Nightsister Fortress. Once the center of power of the tribes, it has become a place where the Nightsister leadership come to speak on matters of territorial feuds, grudges that need repaying, and other treaties. With the presence of the overarching Conclave, the presence of emissaries was becoming a familiar sight for the Nightsisters. They rarely did speak, but they were there to simple be third party arbiters if need be. After all, sometimes the Nightsisters could not trust another, who claimed to be unbiased, to be unbiased. The Conclave had no such desire nor possibility to gain from the feud over a strip of land or a herd of rancor. Their presence was a necessity to the Heirarch. They stood, not only as diplomats, but spies. Their eyes and ears doing what they can to understand each leader. For it was their master's desire to see them united under the right leader.
