*The girls agreed and first collected their things, which fortunately consisted only of some clothing and their datapads. They then were escorted to the bathing chambers while awaiting further news, both about the First Order and the girls' own method of departure from the world.*
"I can't help but think this isn't the best time for a bath," *Laney murmured.
Morgan agreed, though she was hardly paying attention. The soothing warmth of the waters helped her to relax, allowing her to center herself and meditate. Every last premonition about the situation was negative, she knew, but panicking wouldn't do her any good. She needed to prepare herself both physically and mentally in case of a struggle, which she hoped it wouldn't come to...
... but she didn't have the best of feelings.*

Mara relaxed in the bath with the girls. Their hesitance to do so quite apparent as they slipped in to the water alongside her. She also had her doubts that this was the best course of action. Preparation in such situations was better. But she had a feeling Satish wanted to try spare them unnecessary concern. After all, there were plenty of Witches all relaxing in the baths, blissfully unaware of what was taking place Your pilot will be here to pick you up soon... If not, we have other methods to get you back to Felucia...
Satish watched the display intently, as the First Order ships turned and fired upon the fleet. The Cardan III disappearing from the holodisplay as it was destroyed. Several Clan Mothers gasped in horror. So, it had begun again. The First Order had decided to restart their conquest of the Galaxy. He turned to Ebony then. Her poker face outstandingly amazing as she watched the display It's time to sound the alarm and get everyone prepared...
Agreed... Prepare the Witches and Shapers...
By your will...

"If he can get past those ships," *replied a skeptic Laney.*
"That's only if they're hostile," *said Morgan uncertainly. She looked sideways at Laney to see her staring back at her with a look that said it all: Hostility was a given, and Morgan was being too hopeful. Morgan only grimaced and looked back down into the water, hoping these backup plans were foolproof as she now feared for their pilot's life.*

Mara was certain the ships in orbit were hostile. It was not often fleets like that came to Dathomir for friendly operations. And if what she knew of the First Order was true, she doubted they were here by accident I'm sure he'll be fine... We'll get you to safety one way or another, and I'm sure your pilot friend has enough sense to be able to navigate around the battle.
Satish strolled out of the command chamber and headed through the Fortress to the main entrance way. Orders had gone out covertly alerting the most immediate security forces to prepare for invasion. Meanwhile, the forces stationed at the Jedi Temple and the Trade Outpost had been recalled. Beginning their marches back to the Fortress in hopes that they would either reinforce the Fortress before the First Order landed. Or catch them in a pincer movement as they assaulted the mountain.
He could sense their concern as he stood there, looking out into the forest as Witches and Shapers alike made their way inside. His gaze drifting up to the giant blast door that would lower once the Imperials made landfall. Who knew how long it would last. But perhaps it would be long enough for reinforcements

Seth and his team of Scouts found their way to a position almost opposite where the Knights would be making their move. The Lieutenant and two of his men crawled through the mud toward the wall. One of his team stead back, alerting them when the guards on the wall were distracted or not looking toward them. It was a hard crawl, keeping heads down and eyes peeled for any possible traps that had been set on the perimeter. Though after a grueling hour, the team made it to the base of the wall. Arms aching from dragging themselves through the mud and brush, Seth started doling out thermal detonators that would be fixed to the wall and triggered remotely once they were out of the blast radius. This was also slow work as they had to continue to not get spotted while they worked, but soon the charges were set and the time came to make their way back to the safety of the forest.

As Lieutenant Gentry and his Scout Troopers make their way to where they will set the charges that will serve as the distraction that, it is hoped, will enable her and her fellow Imperial Knights to infiltrate the Nightsister Fortress with less opposition than they might otherwise encounter, Faina, Brock and Kortos stealthily make their way to where they plan to breach the fortress.
Taking the lead position in the loose wedge formation she and her fellow Imperial Knights fall into naturally as they warily creep ever closer to their destination, Faina calls a halt once when Brick whistles softly to indicate that his senses have warned him of potential danger approaching, and, later when they are nearing their objective, again when she spots, off in the distance, one of the Nightsisters riding a Rancor mount, a sight she knows she will not soon forget.
Signaling Brock to move into position to watch their right flank when they reach the edge of the forest nearest to the point on the Fortress wall where Lieutenant Gentry suggested they make the breach attempt, Faina steps near enough to Kortos that they can speak in voices low enough that they will not carry, telling him quietly, "Plant the charges, then fall back to our position here so that we can send Gentry the signal to begin the distraction," and then claps him on the shoulder with a nod to send him out. Trusting that Brock will also be alert for any signs of approaching danger, Faina moves quickly and quietly to where she can watch their left flank while Kortos plants the charges, focusing enough to attend to both what she can sense in the Force and to what her natural senses can tell her.

Kortos had kept close to Faina and Brock as they moved through the forest. Making sure the thermal detonators he had been entrusted with were not mishandled. After all, it would be a rather abrupt end to all of their lives if the bombs were set off prematurely. So while Faina and Brock had kept their attention on external threats, he had focused a little more on internal threats. Only turning his focus outward as Faina moved close and clapped his shoulder Sure thing... Let's do a little landscaping... He crept forward through the brush then. constantly looking this way and that for any signs of sentries that the Witches might have set up. But so far the coast was clear.
At least, that was the case until he was almost on top of the hidden entry way they were about to blow a hole in. He came to a stop in the undergrowth as a Witch appeared from the doorway. He reached out his senses within the Force, searching to see if anyone else had followed her out here. But thankfully the Force had been kind, and only one Witch was guarding this way. He did his best to silently adjust himself to a standing position. And then he whistled.
The Witch seemed to look in his direction, her head tilting to the side. He whistled again, this time a little longer. This time, it had the effect he had hoped for. The Witch walked towards the trees, her spear thrust forward, ready to probe the jungle for what ever had made that noise. He moved several feet to the side then. Taking a step away from the spot as she took a step closer.
The Witch thrust the spear into the tree line several times. Had he not moved, She would have well and truly impaled him with the weapon she carried. After a few moments, the Witch gave up and decided that whoever had been there, was gone now. As she turned around, Kortos saw his opening. Quickly rushing through the trees. He placed his left hand over her mouth, while he reached his right hand around and across her torso. Locking her in to place against his chest.
Without even saying anything, he rapidly pulled her head toward the left, while moving her torso to the right. As she crumpled to the ground, He grabbed her body and moved it in to the tree line. Hiding it from anyone that might pass by. With the one sentry taken care of, he quickly made his way to where the door had been and placed the charges upon the rock face. Linking them to the detonator controller that had come with them.
Kortos disappeared back into the jungle then, making his way back to where Faina and Brock had been waiting. He produced the controller and carefully handed it to Faina, so that she could do the honours We're ready to go... We better make it quick as well. There was a sentry, and I have no doubt she will be missed if we wait too long...

Relative safety that is. Seth knew the hell storm that would be brought down on this area once those charges went off. But then the if this were to be easy, the Empire wouldn't have sent their best! These were the thoughts that Seth kept in his mind as he and his two companions made there way back through the mud. Another long cold, hour as the trio finally reached the underbrush and could stand. Finding their fourth, the squad took up positions behind the trees. Even as he felt his face drenched with sweat under his helmet, Seth knew the job wasn't done. Pulling out the remote, he signaled to his squad with his fingers... Three... Two... His thumb hit the button and was answered by a deafening blast and blind flash from the wall, as fifteen thermal detonators went off at once. The blast would shake the wall, even causing a decent amount of damage, but it would remain, unless Seth had over estimated how well constructed it was. But it would no doubt have the desired affect and draw some attention from where the Knights would be making their entrance.

Faina nods when Kortos hands her the controller upon his return, her customarily stoic expression remaining unaltered even in light of his news about the sentry. "Lieutenant Gentry's distraction should be . . ."
Faina almost, but not quite, smiles as the sound of Seth's distraction thunders forth in the distance before she can complete her sentence, and then closes her eyes as she begins mentally counting down while casting her awareness of the Force and the living beings within it outwards to gain a sense of where most of the activity and attention inside the fortress walls is focused. Unsurprised when her senses reveal that Seth's distraction has, as planned, drawn a great deal of attention inside the fortress, Faina forces herself to wait a moment more before she uses the detonator to blow the charges Kortos had planted, giving the Nightsisters a moment in which to believe the first explosion had been an isolated attack.
Opening her eyes after she determines enough time has passed that to wait longer would be ill advised, Faina presses the detonator's trigger, turning her head to the side to protect her eyes from the searing glare of the explosion that roars out once the trigger has been pulled. Looking towards the smoke and debris filled ragged hole that has been torn in the wall, Faina rises and takes her lightsaber hilt from its hook as she tells Brock and Kortos in a resolutely determined tone, "On me," while beginning to jog towards the breach, using her physical senses as well as her awareness of what the Force might chose to reveal to her to remain alert for any dangers that might await them . . .

Unlike Faina, Brock does smile as the sound of Seth's distraction interrupts the Grandmaster's sentence, he appreciated amusing timing, even in war. Taking a piece of jerky out of his pocket he chews on the tough, delicious meat as he waits patiently for Faina to make her move. He completely relaxed on the outside but internally he was reaching out with the force, keeping a sense of the surrounding area, making sure no one approached them as they waited. He averted his own eyes at the same time Faina did, their combat familiarity giving him advanced notice of her triggering the device and caused him to shield his eyes before rising to join her in the charge forward.
Charging forward the white and gold clad Imperial Knight forgoes drawing his lightsaber, instead letting a pair of small knives slide from their hidden place in his bracers. Despite Faina's intent to have them follow he puts on an extra burst of speed to overtake her, charging into the breach before she can reach it. Although he'd claim it as a point of bravado later on his real intention was to take the brunt of any danger that might be lurking inside rather than risk Faina. In addition to being his friend she was also the Grandmaster of the Imperial Knights, and as such was too valuable to risk when there were other options. Okay, yes there was probably a bit of Bravado involved to but that was beside the point.
Breaching the walls he emerges into what appears to be a slightly curved hallway, suddenly glad that he took point as he notices two dazed women to the left, as if they had been close enough to the explosion to feel the shock but far enough to avoid most proper injury. With a snap of his wrists and a slight effort of telekenetic energy he propels both blades directly into the women's throats, a sudden spurt of crimson staining the walls nearby as two more knives slide into his hands as he extends his senses outwards waiting for more danger in the moments before his fellow Knights joined him, a smile on his face. He wasn't exactly fond of killing, but it was good to have a mission with clear enemies for the first time in what felt like far too long.

*Morgan only nodded to Mara's comment about the pilot's abilities but still wasn't that optimistic. She and Laney fell back into silence for several moments, Morgan closing her eyes and starting to draw the Force into herself. Mostly, she attempted to center herself, calm down, prepare for whatever may come next, but brief glimpses of happenings elsewhere entered her sight, causing her to flinch or grimace.*
"Are you okay?" *asked a concerned Laney.
She received no answer, at least not until a flash "blinded" her and she gasped, eyes shooting open. Throwing herself to her feet, she scrambled out of the pool, sloshing water onto the ground.*
"What's wrong?!" *exclaimed Laney, also shooting to her feet.
Turning back towards them, she announced,* "Something's happening! I don't know what but there's bombs!"

Mara had sensed a shift in people’s mood. Especially amongst those that were actively on duty. But Morgan’s start merely confirmed what she suspected was already going on. The First Order was invading They have forces on the ground. But they still have the main door to get through... we still have some time...
Satish had been overseeing the final entrants to the Fortress when the bomb had gone off. The explosion was mostly just loud as the detonators dig holes into the mountain wall. Thankfully through, the natural structure remained in once piece. Though alerts were being issued Close the door, get as many people here as possible... The First Order will be landing soon... Several Witches and Shapers nodded in understanding of their orders. Satish turned and headed back deep into the Mountain Fortress. Seeking refuge in the royal chambers where Ebony had dismissed the council so they could gather their forces and coordinate defences. The Grand Matriarch sat upon her throne as he moved to the center of the audience chamber. Ready to protect her You look as beautiful as ever... We will endure this raid...

Having known Brock for as long as she has, Faina is not at all surprised when, counter to her order, he rushes ahead of her and into the fray. That the lack of discipline could, in the wrong company, serve to undermine her authority perturbs Faina, but as she estimates that discussing that point at present would not only serve to underscore the failure to follow the chain of command but could also prove to be a potentially mission threatening distraction, or worse, she lets the matter slide for now, choosing instead to fluidly shift from taking point to following Brock's lead.
Entering the hallway beyond their forced entry point, Faina motions for Brock to continue ahead in the point position, and then signals Kortos to watch their right flank after Brock, like the point of a spear, has begun to cautiously advance ahead of them. It soon becomes apparent that the corridors winding through the interior of the fortress will be akin to, for those unfamiliar with them, navigating through a maze, and so Faina, as she trusts Brock will be doing as well, stretches her awareness of the Force outwards to gain a sense of where the inhabitants of the fortress as more densely concentrated, surmising that that will be where their target is more likely to be found. . .

A hasty retreat was made by Seth and his men through the forest. They soon linked up with his other squads. Seth then gave the orders to find new positions and hold out as long as possible to keep escape clear for the knights.

More and more Witches and Shapers gathered at the inside of the Fortress entrance. Barricades were erected, gun emplacements were set up, warriors took cover. Ready and waiting for the First Order to land and begin their assault. The bombs had barely dented the side of the mountain that the Fortress has been carved out of. The sooner the First Order worked that out, the sooner they would be rolling in the big guns to try crack open the main door
Satish turned toward the south. Staring at the wall as he felt the spirits calling to him. Alerting him to the interlopers that had managed to sneak into the Fortress. He lowered himself to the floor then. Taking up a sitting position as he reached out to the spirits. Communing with them to guide their guests to the royal chambers. He could have alerted the Witches or the Shapers to the intruders. But he suspected these visitors were no ordinary people. To send anyone else after them would merely inflict a great loss of life

Any fear or concern that Faina harbored about their ability to navigate through the Nightsister's fortress to where they can find their target are soon lain to rest when, shortly after she and her fellow Imperial Knights have dealt with the initial opposition they encountered upon breaching the fortress, it begins to feel, to her, as though a whispered voice in her head guides her through the eerily abandoned and silent corridors, and once she is sure that she hears the sounds of feet ahead of them quickly changing their heading to avoid crossing their path; and soon Faina finds her concerns about navigation have been replace with concerns about the ease with which they are able to move through the corridors and halls, reminding her uneasily of sheep being led to slaughter.
The whispered voice in Faina's head seems, as she feels they come very near to the place they are being led, to be coming from a distinctive presence, strong in the Dark Side, that she senses more and more clearly within the Force the further into the bowels of the fortress she and her fellow Imperial Knights are led. Holding up a hand to call a temporary halt, Faina tells Brock and Kortos despite her certainty that her words are unnecessary given the intent and determined expressions, matching her own, that greet her when she turns to them, "Be ready, it won't be long now. Nodding her chin towards the doors at the end of the corridor they have been led to, Faina says, On me," looking pointedly at Brock as she does so to, ideally, prevent him from charging in ahead of her as he did before.
Closing the last of the distance between her and the doors at the end of the hall, her lightsaber, unignited as of yet, held down at her left side, Faina lifts her right hand, palm held outward, and sends a Force push outwards to open the doors when only a few steps remain to be taken, pausing poised ready to move as she waits to see if anything or anyone will come through them or if she and her fellow Imperial Knights will need to step through them to learn what lays waiting beyond them . . .

Satish rose from his seated position as the doors to the throne room were thrown open by an invisible force. He offered a smile as he stared out of the doors at the trio of Imperial Knights. He spread his arms wide, welcoming his intended assassins into the throne room. Whereas his aggressors were clad in armour and wielding lightsabers. Satish stood only in his basic kit without a weapon in sight. He had no fancy lightsaber weapon of any kind, or even a weapon made of any kind of lightsaber resistant material.
Satish didn't need any of that. He was a nimble enough fighter that he could dodge most weapon strikes, and call the spirits to his aide, to repel an offense. He crossed his arms across his chest then. The tattoos across his body shifting to a white glow And this is what the First Order sends against me? A trio of Imperial Knights? Pathetic... The least they could have done, was send a Knight of Ren in your stead. That might have at least been a challenge... Come on then, let's get this over with...

Greeted and then taunted by their unarmed and lone target, Faina's customarily stoic expression remains unchanged as she tells herself that it would be foolish to allow her outdated sense of honor and chivalry to goad her into a one on one, unarmed contest with their target. Their orders, Faina tells herself as she begins striding through the open doors, are clear; eliminate Satish, full stop. There is no way, Faina tells herself as she lifts her free hand to signal Brock and Kortos to move into positions enabling them to confront Satish in the Praetoria Ishu style of combat unique to the Imperial Knights, she will risk the success of their mission by stopping to, assuming all the while that Satish does not simply attack at the first sign of her intention of doing something stupid like casting aside her lightsaber and removing her armor so that they can face one another on equal footing.
More than foolish, Faina tells herself as she holds her free hand aloft, not yet signaling Brock and Kortos to begin their combined attack, it would be irresponsible and arrogant.
Ridiculously foolish to even entertain the idea, Faina tells herself.
"Dammit, Faina mutters to herself before shifting her hand into the signal for Brock and Kortos to hold, her outdated sense of honor proving in the end to be stronger than her common sense, and then, to let Satish know her intentions, unignites her lightsaber and passes it to Brock as she tells Satish as well as her fellow Imperial Knights, If you win, you have my word that you will be allowed to leave Dathomir freely. Her eyes never leaving Satish, watching him closely in case he moves to attack while she sheds her armor, Faina begins unfastening the straps of her right gauntlet as she tells Brock and Kortos, aware that even if Satish faces her alone, the Nightsisters might choose to intervene on his behalf, Guard the doors, make sure we're not interrupted."
Moments later (assuming that Satish has not forced her to go on the offensive before she has finished removing her armor), clad only in the black body glove worn beneath her armor, Faina moves towards the center of the room, adopting a ready stance somewhere between that of a boxer and martial artist - balanced enough that she can throw punches and kicks as well as defend against takedowns, and easy to adjust in response to changing circumstance - as she is unaware of the unarmed combat style Satish will employ. Her sense of honor not demanding of her that she wait for Satish to make the first move, Faina announces the beginning of their battle with a swift lunge forward, the Force lending her movements preternatural speed and strength, accompanied by a blindingly fast, vicious fist strike towards his throat; her intention clearly to end the fight quickly, not to fight for the mere sake of doing so.

Following Faina quietly through the rest of the fortress Brock obeys her pointed reminders to stay behind her as they navigate through the seemingly abandoned corridors. Force senses stretched out he is somewhat surprised and concerned by their easy route to their target. Throughout their movement into the throne room he can't stop thinking that this has to be a trap, but instead it seemed like it was an invitation to a challenge, or at least that's how Faina decided to take it. Initially he is pleased by her directions toward a combined attack, moving forward, lightsaber humming in preparation for use. While in position his bond with his friend is enough to receive a sense of her thoughts, at least enough for him to let out a mumbled curse as she makes her decision. Accepting her lightsaber and moving her armor off to the side of the room, out of the way he can't help but frown. This was rash and foolish and they both knew it. However, he had done his fair share of foolish and rash things in the recent past so he had no grounds to stand there and lecture her on the proper way to handle the situation.
As Kortos makes his way to watch the door Brock stays behind, leaning up against the nearby wall in an unconvincingly casual manner, arms crossed, with the Grandmaster's lightsaber in hand, although his own had been returned to his belt. Reaching out with the force he conveyed to his friend how bad of an idea this was as well as an encouraging wish for luck. He had done his best to conceal his intentions although he knew that he had never been able to hide things very well from her. He respected her sense of honor but there was no way he was going to let it get her killed. He had every intention of intervening if it looked like things were going that way. He respected her choices and her orders, but he valued her life much more than either of those things, besides HE had never promised that the man would leave the planet freely. He settled against the wall, ready to spring into action should it be needed, slowly drawing on the force so it was there to assist should things go wrong.

A humming was heard overhead of the Fortress. The fleet overhead had been annihilated and space was free for the troop and vehicle transports to begin their descent. Ahead of them came waves of Neutralizer-class Bombers as they softened up the ground and slammed their ordinances against the fortress itself. Soon enough, the first of the transports landed and Stormtroopers disembarked, forming up with their units and advancing. Next came the walkers and the hovertanks that sped through the trees, clearing a path for the oncoming walkers... and a gargantuan cannon that was hauled by strange vehicles. Blasterfire was heard soon enough along the perimeter of the Fortress as First Order ground forces engaged with any defending troops. The First Order was pushing hard to enter the fortress to aid the Imperial Knights embroiled in battle. Elsewhere, other Imperial forces landed to aid allied Witch clans in subjugating the world and cleansing the Galactic Alliance presence on its surface.
The Subjugation of Dathomir had begun...
