Mara had heard of this thing the Jedi call the Force. As far as she could understand from what Satish had told her. The Jedi described it as an energy field created by all living things that bound the universe together. Which certainly sounded like just a different name for the spirits of the ancestors that powered the Witches magick. Her gaze flicked towards Satish briefly then, as Morgan spoke of mastering the elements Such pursuits, I will leave to the Master Shaper's instruction... While we can exercise minor control of the elements themselves, the Shapers have a deeper connection with the spirits that control them... It is just the way we have been blessed by the spirits. Blessings we are taught to control from a young age. A process I am sure you are both somewhat familiar with?

*Morgan nodded.* "Since I was three. I wasn't discovered until then."
"I'm a late bloomer," *said Laney.* "Was on Zeltros for a while until they recruited me."

Mara nodded in response to both of their replies. Crossing her arms over her chest as she did so No one is a late bloomer. Every one hears the call of the spirits exactly when they need to... I think now is a good time to take a break and have a bath... Mara motioned for Morgan and Laney to stand up, before leading the way out of the training arena back to the bathing cavern. Mara casually discarded her clothing into a pile, before stepping into the heated pool. Feeling the warm water wash over her body as she sat down. She then turned her attention to the two girls then

*They supposed there was merit to Mara's words. Morgan initially wondered what it would be like if she had been trained since birth, but she could barely remember when her training began to begin with so she supposed it was a moot point. Laney, though, had only been part of the Order for a few years, and therefore brought some of her culture with her.
Not that Morgan thought that was a bad thing.
The Matriarch then invited them to take a break and bathe.* "Say no more!" *Said Laney, springing to her feet.
Morgan giggled and picked up Lokay, helping him to her shoulder as she too got to her feet and followed Mara back to the bathing chambers. The two girls couldn't resist taking a moment to admire Mara before stripping themselves; as usual, Lokay opted to remain out of the water, dryly and comfortably curled up on Morgan's clothing.
The girls stepped foot in the baths and lowered themselves to their shoulders. Immediately the hot water relieved much of the fatigue brought on from the long journey, and both girls gave a relaxed sigh.*
"I envy this," *she murmured, closing her eyes.*

Mara examined the two girls as they entered the baths. Taking note of the scars on Morgan's chest briefly, perhaps for later discussion. Her attention then turned to the Tailring as it curled up with the young girls clothes. Briefly amused by the tiny dragon. Her attention shifting once more back to Morgan and Laney as the two girls settled into the heated bath and started to relax. Just the result she hoped it would achieve It is quite nice. The pools not only help for cleaning the body, but also calming the mind. To better allow us to communicate with the Winged Goddess and hear her words...

*Morgan hadn't necessarily meant she envied just the bath itself, though it did feel quite nice. She had to question the idea of them aiding one's communication with the Force, though she supposed when one was calm and relaxed it would allow for better focus.*
"'Winged Goddess'?" *Laney asked.* "Which one was that again?"
"It's—" *Morgan caught herself, knowing the answer but deciding to not conflate the Witches'— er, Daughters' teachings with those of the Jedi. Smiling, she looked at Mara.* "It'd be better if you told us, just to make sure we got it right."

Mara smiled as Morgan caught herself. It appeared as if the young girl was going to supply an answer, before deciding to let Mara answer the question. A wise choice on the Jedi’s part. Mara leaned back against the edge of the pool, spreading her arms out on the side of the pool An excellent idea... While the Daughters worship and listen to the whispers of the spirits in most things. The Winged Goddess is chief among them. The great allmother of creation... she embodies the light. She appears to each of us differently at times. But to most, she is a great winged beast giving off a dazzling light. Welcoming us to her bosom...

*The description Morgan knew and interpreted as merely a personification of the light side in their culture. Of course, she hadn't wanted to say as much lest she risk offending them on accident. The thought was briefly forgotten as the mention of "bosom" managed to draw both girls' eyes towards the Matriarch's chest briefly. While Laney clearly thought nothing of it, Morgan quickly looked away, barely stopping herself from apologizing as she recalled that apparently the Daughters didn't mind too much. Not that she was going to take it as an invitation to stare...*

Morgan and Laney’s gaze being drawn to her chest did not go unnoticed. Mara smirked, amused by their reactions. Especially when Laney continued to stare at her halfway submerged breasts, while Morgan seemed to avert her gaze after realizing she was staring. Mara didn’t mind. She was born with them, and they were nothing more than an anatomical indication of her sex. That wasn’t to say she also didn’t take some pride in them, as a man might his muscles in any other culture. Her gaze dropped briefly to Morgan’s own chest Speaking Of bosoms... Yours seems to bear the mark of a great fight. I presume a sign a victory, since you yet live...

*It was an all-too-common occurrence yet still somehow one that still caught Morgan slightly off-guard: Asking about her scars. They had become so natural to her that it was almost like being asked why she had a nose. She glanced down at them and raised herself out of the water so the four claw marks across her chest could be seen, along with the scar around her left shoulder.* "There was a monster attack." *That was the generic—if not still accurate—response. Grimacing, she hesitated before sighing.* "The 'monster' was a Maelibus—a Demon—that took advantage of me. I was almost his meal... I was saved just in time, but I would've been dead for sure if it wasn't for—" *The irony of her next words dawned on her before she said them, and she smiled as she slid back into the water.* "... Felucia's spirit. It happened when I was only six." *She blinked; having not recounted the true story in a while, she made a sudden realization.* "I've had these scars for half my life..."
"At least they put something there to look at before you grow out," *said Laney with a smirk.
Morgan's cheeks immediately turned red as her head spun to look at the half-Zeltron.* "Laney!" *she exclaimed, splashing her afterward. Laney only shielded herself from the blast before laughing, causing Morgan to sink further until the water was above her shoulders.*

Mara examined Morgan's scars as she showed them off. They were quite the mark made by something truly terrible. Something that Morgan called a Maelibus. A creature she had never heard of before. But the galaxy was filled with many creatures she was sure she had never heard of before. But the young girls description was enough for her. A demon. She continued to listen as Morgan explained that she had escaped thanks to the spirit of Felucia. Something Mara gave a silent prayer in thanks to for having saved the girls life.
She nodded in understanding as Morgan retook her seat. Smiling as the two girls joked with one another and acted as kids were want to do. Splashing one another with water. Mara was glad to see that despite the horror Morgan had suffered. She had not let the tragedy define her. Instead growing stronger from it and continuing on with her life. As a true warrior should. As a Daughter would A demon eh? Servants of the Fanged God... But those that serve the Winged Goddess will always triumph over them... As for growing up and filling out... Do not be in a rush for such things. While there are benefits to filling out... Life is a lot simpler as a child...

*Finding Mara's assessment that Demons were "servants of the Fanged God" a bit literal, Morgan almost corrected her but once more let it go. She was starting to get used to that... she was here to learn, not question culture.
In response to the notion that life was "simpler as a child," she sighed.* "That's what they keep telling me... I guess I like that I can do almost anything I want when I'm not in a class or on some mission or something, and I know that might not be the same when I'm older, but... I dunno."

The innocence of youth. Despite her many trials and tribulations, Morgan still remained largely untouched. A fact which brought another smile to her face. Mara leaned her head back, inhaling deeply before levelling her gaze back upon Morgan I can assure you, it wont be the same when you get older. As an adult, you have responsibilities for yourself and other people. Which, isn't a bad thing. But it puts life into perspective... But let's not bore ourselves with such matters. Tell me of this... Spirit of Felucia as you called it?

*At the mention of responsibilities, Morgan turned to look at Lokay, snoozing on top of her discarded clothes. She grinned at him, considering him and her other two pets responsibilities... albeit lighter ones. Especially since Rush mostly took care of himself and Terror.
When asked about Felucia, Morgan immediately and eagerly focused on Mara again.* "She's my mother! Well, the Felucians all treat her like a mother, but she... really is kind of one to me. She governs the world and the Felucians help her keep balance. She guides us all and she's even spoken to me! Thanks to my connection with her I can feel the heartbeat of the jungle, know when other creatures are around or how they're feeling..."
"That's why I said that exercise earlier would be easy for her," *said Laney.*

Mara was interested in Morgan's response. Listening as the young girl described a mother spirit that inhabited Felucia. It was rather affirmative of her beliefs, that there existed others within the galaxy that also worshipped the spirits. At least in a more direct manner than perhaps the Jedi or Sith did. She gave a nod in response to Laney's comment then Indeed. The spirits have favoured you... Mara turned her gaze to the massive entrance into the cavern as the sun started to dip beyond the horizon. She then returned her attention to Morgan and Laney then I think that is quite enough for today. I shall show you to your rooms so that you can get some proper rest. We shall begin your proper training in the morning... Mara rose from the water then, stepping out of the bath and collecting a towel to dry herself off. Once she was dressed once more, she lead the two girls through the Fortress to some guest quarters where Morgan and Laney could get some sleep

*The mention of rest certainly agreed with Morgan, as they still hadn't had a chance to since landing on the planet. The fact that she was no longer on Felucia also hindered her recovery ability, and the hot bath—as lovely as it was—only did so much. So the two of them followed Mara's lead, making themselves as comfortable in the somewhat-primitive quarters granted them; more of a concern for Laney than Morgan, who was used to sleeping outside sometimes. They bid Mara goodnight and, after a bit of small talk between themselves, rested peacefully through the night.*

Several Days Later....
It had been almost a week since the pair of Jedi girls had arrived to Dathomir. Mara had spent that time teaching the pair about the history of Dathomir, about the culture that had been born from Allya's arrival. She had even taught them both how to use a couple spells, despite the Jedi's hesitance to do so. Mara had done her best to teach the girls all that she could. Even going as far as taking them on hunts and helping around the great Fortress. Helping them commune with the spirits and prepare them for their biggest test yet to come.
Which was why they were gathered in the arena once more. A couple more Witches on hand this time, with a couple small pens set up. Both of which, contained a single adolescent Rancor. Mara motioned for the two girls to look at the beasts It's been a few days, but here we are once more. This time with slightly smaller Rancor's... something a bit more manageable for training...

*Life among the Witches progressed well enough for Morgan, although Laney struggled to adjust somewhat. Morgan, used to tribal rituals by the Felucians, recognized that the "spells" were merely an application of the Force, though nevertheless played along with their teachings.
Now they stood in the arena once more, dressed in simple Witches attire, facing down a pair of caged young rancors, in preparation for attempted training. Morgan was a bit apprehensive for different reasons than Laney. Certainly, both had varying levels of fear of failure, but whereas Laney was more concerned with being attacked, Morgan desired some sort of progress even if she couldn't tame the beast.
And just for Lokay's safety, he had been instructed to remain at a safe distance.*
"I'm ready," *Morgan announced after a steadying breath.*
"I'm not," *said Laney,* "b-but I've got no choice."

Mara moved behind the two girls and placed a hand on each of their shoulders. Squeezing gently to help calm them. The Witches within the cages held the leashes tight Calm yourselves... Else they will sense your fear. They are only as afraid of you, as you are of them... When you're ready, move to the edge of the cage and touch them. Commune with them through the spirits... Open your heart and listen...

*Morgan moved before Laney, appearing almost trancelike in her focus as she approached, slowly, her mind open and attempting to reach out to the rancor even as her right arm did the same. It took a great deal more focus and dedication than it normally would on Felucia. She tried to think back to the moment where she tamed Rush... but even that was simpler, as akks were Force-sensitive beings.
Seeing Morgan's approach, Laney did her best to echo her friend's movements. For the first few steps, she actually felt somewhat confident. But it quickly deteriorated the closer she was to the caged rancor, even as Morgan was already standing just outside her assigned cage, slowly about to make contact...*
