Aldes listened patiently, intently, gauging Talon's movements and facial expressions as he spoke. He struck her as a very thorough individual, given both strength and agility with the fluid, almost effortless removal of his armor. The scar down his back was a long and brutal thing. Definitely painful to receive, and the memories of that fight must have been as painful as receiving the wound in the first place. As a counselor, she was trained in the art of lightsaber combat but her true skill came from the application of the Force itself to solve her problems.
And after listening to Talon's recounting of his injuries and sensing the darkness emanating from the scar on his back, she said "Oh."
It was quite a lot to take in. To keep her mind on track, she cast her gaze around the room at the medical equipment in the infirmary. Despite the passage of time it didn't seem like there had been any groundbreaking advances in medical engineering while she had been a "guest" of the Mandalorians. Most of the equipment probably had updated software or aesthetic looks, but if none of the functions had changed, then Talon had probably been unsuccessful in treating his scar through modern medical means.
"I'm not technically a doctor," Aldes said, offering Talon a seat on an exam bench. With her free hand, she called on the Force, opening a nearby medicine cabinet and floating over a cup of bacta gel , gauze, disinfectant, and a common bandage. "The head wound we can probably take care of the old fashioned way for now. I may have an idea for the scar on your back. It's a little unconventional though." With detached professionalism, she cleaned the trail of blood dripping down Talon's face with the gauze pads, holding it gently against the wound with her left hand.
"A Jedi is supposed to be strong and steadfast," she said in response to his question. "But also honest. I'm probably much calmer than someone else might be after being held captive for a year. The hypserspace jump to the Academy took four days and I wasn't at my best during that time. I cried with relief for a long part of the trip. I tried to release rather than suppress so much emotion. There may be more pain going forward still. But for now I'm just glad that the ordeal is over."
With her right, she opened the bacta gel and spread it over the padding. After removing the bloody gauze, she called on the Force to apply pressure to the disinfecting spray before more blood could drip down Talon's face. With quick precision, she fixed the bandage to the facial scar and stepped back to look at her handiwork.
"As far as the scar on your back is concerned I can't repair any permanent nerve damage or scar tissue with the Force. But I do sense a great darkness coming from the wound, like a bacterial infection in a cut. It could eventually fade away as time passes. It could remain with you permanently in that wound and only in that wound. Or it could fester and spread. Force healing will not remove it but something else might."
She offered her right hand, palm out, leaving a foot of distance between it and Talon's face.
"Some of my affinity to the Force was not apparent to my Master during my training. It was dormant. Latent. You might say I was a late bloomer." Aldes' thoughts began focusing on her breathing, the position of the other living beings in the room- Nalatua'lin, Z'har, and of course her son Sekenn. She had drawn on this power mostly during times of duress, but if she channeled her awareness down into herself, her very essence within the Force, she could bring it to bear in a clumsy and weak fashion. "I was never formally trained in the application of Force Light," she said, her eyes remaining still behind her lids as she felt her palm warm. "But it is a proven method of banishing the taint of the Dark Side. Or maybe weakening it for a time..."

As he waited for the the Jedi to focus her thoughts and healing wind onto his wound, he calmed himself and opened his mind, body and soul in an attempt to help her in this endeavour. He felt her light food from his head downwards to his neck and arms and they began to tingle and numb. He let them relax and drop fully to the side of his body while he could feel his blood pulse through his veins a touch slower then usual.
Her light consumes him fully, he has not felt this relaxed since Home.
His left eyebrow raises on its own accord but he dismisses it as some sort of muscle fidgeting while his body is relaxed although there is a slight catch in his breath.
His body goes icy cold and his eyes flare open as the scar on his back burns hotter then the brightest star in the night sky, his left hand reaches up to the opposite eye and finds a single tear, his mouth tries to speak but nothing comes out.
His ears have also failed him, he looks around at the others in the area, they speak but he can hear nothing but the silence of death, no-one seams to be noticing his distress, not even the Jedi supporting him, transferring her powers to help him.
He tries to move his legs, wave his arms and use any part of his body to distract anyone to see what is going on. They are all oblivious to him.
Except one.
The whispers within his mind start, barely inaudible at first but as he starts to listen to what is being said more clearly, it turns into a roar. He is not scared of the presence, just what it is doing.
It is laughing, not at the now immobile Talon, unable to do a dammed thing to stop this, but at that woman, that good natured woman who is unaware of what is going on inside the man just inches from her.
'HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA... DO YOU REALLY THINK SHE CAN HELP YOU, YOU PATHETIC IDIOT? DO YOU THINK THE BLADE THAT TORE INTO YOU WAS JUST ANY WEAPON WIELDED BY A HOMICIDAL MANIAC?!
I HAVE WAITED YEARS, NO.. CENTURIES TO FIND SOMEONE WITH ENOUGH POWER AND SORROW WITHIN THEM TO MANIFEST MYSELF ONCE MORE.
I AM ALIVE AGAIN! I AM FREE! I WILL MAKE YOU KILL THAT BITCH!'
His eyes flicked towards her forcefully, blazing with intense heat and hatred which was not his own. He was now host to a malevolent spirit who will have his revenge, or kill him just for the pleasure of felling death once more.
As if looking through an impenetrable barrier, he watched helpless as his own body has been taken away from him, his own hands slowly reaching out so not to alarm anyone in the vicinity.
He is forced to feel the build up of energy when used to infuse oneself with the Force, knowing full well that this entity, this thing intends to break the rules in less then a second.
The fists clench and raise up on each side of the body, the torso straightens and braces as one foot slide a little back and slightly behind the other. The sheer force of telekinetic energy filling his body had started to make first small then large items in the area shake, and now others were starting to feel something close to a minor earthquake.
bottles fell over and tumbled to crash on the floor, electrical equipment started to go mad and fizzle with sparks before they crumpled into little more then an empty beer can.
Cracks appeared upon walls and the ceiling, threatening to erupt and burst light fixtures as they flickered and died.
The worst part of it all was that his face was smiling, his teeth showing and tongue swishing left and right slowly, in anticipation of the death to come momentarily.
The only thing that he could manipulate was the streaks of wetness cascading down his face from his tear ducts.
"Sorry is the only word that springs to mind, and Talon Fenris can not say it, either to the persons here present or to himself.
Hopefully someone will knock him out before its too lat

The man Z'har intrigued her, though, dragging her thoughts away from the time in the cruiser's hold. HE might have some idea where the galaxy was heading next, if his knowledge of history did go back several millenia. "With the clans broken and the Empire on the rise, will it only be a matter of time before a new conflict breaks out?" The Zabrak nods solemnly.-Z'har Put simply, yes. The real answer is a lot more complex than that though. After the Palpatine wars most of the galaxy was fractured into small kingdoms & independent nations. This is one of the first times since then that the galaxy has really started to re-unify on a grand scale. Normally, the government that managed it first would remain mostly unopposed. However, in this case two governments rose nearly simultaneously. I doubt that there will be any major conflicts for the first good while. Instead, both Governments will try to destabilize the other without presenting themselves to risk. Minor border skirmishes, covertly financing pirates in the other's territory, trying to bribe away supporting groups & factions. That sort of thing. From there it will either settle down into peace, or it will spin out into a full blown war for control of the galaxy.Noticing the male figure tense up & start to attack the room with the force, Z'har aimed a quick jab at the base of the man's neck. The target was a nerve cluster that (according to the medical database he quickly pulled up) would render the man unconscious. While he was mentally reacting as quickly as only a droid or well trained force user could, Z'har made sure that his body moved only as quickly as a mortal meaty body would (taking into account an adrenaline rush). It was possible that he would miss the target, but as he was standing right next to the two, it was also unlikely.

Z'har had his aim straight and true, almost hitting the targeted nerve cluster.
Talon, or that is the entity that was currently in control of his body turned slightly as the hand was shot towards him and took one right into the throat, turning a mad grin into an wide-eyed open mouth accompanied by an audible 'pop' as his Adams apple was pressed in rather roughly.
It has been a heck of a long time since this entity has felt the Force, let alone used it. As such, it tried to grab a large metallic container full of something or other from across the room, behind this throat-poking sod and pull it into the back of his head.
Due to the loss of Force-wielding experience, the container slingshots around the room, barely missing patients and Jedi alike, clanging along the walls and grinds across the floor. Others are able to jump over it or step to the side as it makes its way around the room. Talon's piggy-backing entity turns his face into a scowl after rearranging it from choking from the throat lunge and flips his fingers upside down, manovering the now airborne canister behind Z'har.
Hands clench and move into his chest as the container is whipped forward with speed to where it was intended, which has the velocity and power to snap a neck if it hits right.
By sheer luck, one of the academy protocol droids takes the bloody thing smack across the face, sending it to the floor with a loud crash.
That impact changed the trajectory ever so slightly that said container missed Z'har's noggin by a mere fraction of an inch smacking Talon slap bang on the nerve cluster he was aiming at in the first place.
Down he went, faster then a Gun Gun given to a certain Zik somewhere in the universe, who would not only obliterate the annoying bug-eyed dumbasses, but the person who gave it to him.
THUD
Talon needs to have that head wound looked at again, and the academy have some pretty awesome droids.

While appearing to pay attention to Aldes Malvern and Talon Fenris, Nalatua'lin had been listening closely. She wondered at Z'har Desmond's grip of knowledge spanning millenia, combined with his knowledge and ignorance of Twi'Lekan language, and the fact that he did not seem to be Jedi per se. Whenever his black eyes looked at her she felt a prickling sense of unease climbing up her spine and rippling down her lekku, as if she was a rycrit in the vicinity of a hungry lylek. And yet, she did not sense any malignancy directed towards herself specifically, or the academy. She wondered if he was anything like Five.
Anyway, as Aldes asked about the inevitability of war breaking out, "I hope it does not come to that. But, it would seem likely in the future---perhaps it will be years yet."
As Talon took off his shirt and Lady Malvern began her examination, Nala frowned at his back. At first she had thought the darkness and pain tinging his aura were from the bleeding cut over his eye, which had seemed a simple thing to fix. This scar along his back though would be more serious, a deeper test of the recent arrival's abilities. She wondered if she hadn't suggested some food for the emaciated refugee before Healing, but it was a bit late for that.
Nala crossed her arms, flicking a glance over at Z'har before watching the other two. Talon had had a close brush with the Dark Side---and the future had yet to reveal what that would mean right here in the infirmary.

The use of Force Light by Aldes had been an experimental thing, as she was completely untrained in its application, relying on the power as a matter of instinct up until this point. The backfiring was unexpected, however. In her understanding, Force Light severed or weakened the connection to the Force of Dark Side users, and while the entity may have had enough power to maneuver objects, she hoped to feel a weakening of its power. Instead, Talon seemed to be consumed by it completely.
The intervention of Z'har kept her from losing her head to the flying objects while the scholar tried to damage the nerve cluster behind Talon's neck. The loss of the medical droid was also unfortunate, but hopefully the Academy's technicians could repair it, or recover its memory core and fit it into a new body.
The final knockout blow to Talon's skull rendered the man unconscious and her earlier work all for nothing. But in light of his actions and the quickness with which he'd turned against everyone present, Aldes took a different course. She waved to a pair of security guards who appeared in the doorway after hearing the commotion.
"Would you be so kind as to restrain him, please?" She said. To Nalatua'lin she said "Unless you know something about this gentleman I don't, I think it would be wise to keep him restrained and under observation for some time. If I triggered his transformation, then I accept responsibility for my actions. But for this gentleman," she indicated Z'har "this could have become a deadly outburst. I think it may be for the best to let the droids treat his current head trauma."

Z'har's reaction was impressive, though it did bring about the destruction of a specialized medical droid. Nala contemplated billing Talon for the waste, though that would have to wait. He seemed to be...possessed? The Healer frowned, wondering if he had discovered the smoke demon that Aleranus had been searching for even as she grabbed a hypo and loaded it with a double dose of Tranquillax based on a rough estimate of his body mass even as he collapsed to the floor unconscious.
"You are not responsible, Aldes," Nala replied as she pressed the needle to Talon's upper arm and administered the drug that should keep him under for some hours---probably four unless he was able to snap out of it sooner due to whatever was controlling him. She'd dropped the honorific due to the situation, though a quick reading of the recent arrival led her to believe that Lady Malvern would not be overly discomfited by it. "I'm not even sure that he is responsible for it at this point, strictly speaking."
A glance told her that Z'har was fine for the moment even as she began manipulating the Force to place Talon on an unoccupied bed.
"Z'har, if you'd pull over that portable privacy screen please?" she asked as she set Talon down and restrained his arms, torso, and legs. She did check to make sure his breathing was unobstructed as his head rested on a thin pillow. As the guards headed over to the bed, she nodded, speaking quietly while still assessing the situation. "Keep an eye on him, and make sure he does not cause harm to anyone else, please." Thankfully the infirmary was mostly empty right now.
Eventually, she looked up at the others, "We need his ship's log---I want to know where he's from and what he's been in contact with. Perhaps there will be a clue as to his relationship with whatever that---manifestation, was." If it was a smoke demon... "At least, I hope so." And, she looked up at Aldes Malvern, "We need to get Sekenn out of here. If you like, I can have him taken to your room." That is, if the other woman was still interested in working with Talon. She might not be, and Nala couldn't fault her for that if it turned out to be the case. On one hand, she hoped it wasn't. She wanted a competent Healer other than herself to be around at the Academy. On the other hand, if this proved more dangerous than it looked to be on the surface, she did not want harm to come to Aldes Malvern, particularly after her recent escape from the Mandalorians. Z'har looked to be more than capable of taking care of himself, something that she wondered at, even as she accepted it. She wouldn't have thought that something of this nature was typical for a scholarly-type.

The restraints on Talon accompanied by the privacy screen and guards helped to put Aldes at ease after the altercation. And while she was prepared to assist in any way possible, the danger now was pursuing the wrong course of treatment for him.
"I'm prepared to assist going forward," Aldes said, eying Talon cautiously as the guards took up position. "But you are right. We need his ship's manifest, official records of where he has been and missions he's gone on, and we do need to know what is happening with him to cause this outburst of Darkness in order to treat it."
She turned toward Nalatua'lin and her baby son. "Until then, if he is healthy, I would like to see my son relocated."

Z'har efficiently & quickly set up the privacy screen around the now restrained & drugged patient. The Zabrak wasn't too pleased as he quickly checked over the heavily damaged medical droid, his goggles only confirming what he already knew. The droid was inoperative, be most of the important bits were undamaged. Z'har could probably get the droid working again in rather short order with some parts from the city.
-Z'har Not at all, Lady Aldes. From my point of view it was fairly obvious he knocked himself out. I was merely the one that for whatever reason, he chose to focus on.
I might be able to help fix up your droid. That is if you happen to have a machine shop here. I spent a while helping out at a droid repair shop as a part time job a while back.

"Of course," Nala replied gently to Aldes, lekku twitching slightly as she watched the mother pick up her infant son. Fleetingly she wondered what it would be like to have a child of her own---it was only a passing thought because for her to have a child several other things would naturally have to come about, like the whole partner thing. The corner of her lips curved into a smile for a moment as she envisioned a shapely pair of lekku on a taller male---right, back to business.
The quiet beeping of the vitals monitors that were hooked up to Talon Fenris' unconscious form seemed routine already. They'd have some time. "He'll be out for awhile. If you like, I can get you settled and then we can pull the information we need from his ship?"
The clerk was able to fix droids as well? A wrinkle appeared between her eyes as she frowned, but it smoothed out half a second later. "There's a repair closet a bit down the corridor, though if you need more extensive facilities, that'll be a level down. I'm sure you know how to pull a schematic from the wall terminal?" she inquired, fully expecting him to already know where he was going.

Aldes took a moment to hold her son close, exhaling her relief that her baby was completely healthy and now safe, even from Talon. The dark outburst by Talon Fenris was further proof to her mind that there was no single safe place for her son in this galaxy- she could only do her best to protect him. It would never do any good to find a safe nook in the galaxy in which to lock him away, all out of a misguided wish to keep him from harm.
"If there is room for us here on Corellia, I'd be very much appreciative," Aldes said. "And if there is any help I can give with investigating Talon's condition, I will happily do so."

-Z'har Been a while since I've done it, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Would you care to lead the way to the repair bays below? Also, would you mind if I borrowed a hover gurney to help move the droid?
Z'har was perfectly capable of manually hauling the droid down there himself. However, it would ruin his clothes & probably damage the droid even farther.

Talon is quite out of it dosed up on sedatives and restrained quite nicely that will not hurt him but also does not give him full use of his body.
A small monitor hooked up to him is giving a steady reading with intermittent spikes.
His body twitches as if he is dreaming, fingers flex and legs jerk for brief moments before becoming still again.
There is only one time where the monitors start to have a hissy fit and go into a frenzy, which is followed by Talon bulking his whole body against the restraints before stopping, opening his eyes and shouting from the depths of his lungs with a resounding booming roar.
"BAAAAALLLLLSSSS"!
And with that outburst done with, his eyes roll back, body goes limp as he falls back again into unconsciousness.
At this point he doesn't know if it was him or that dark entity that made said outburst and will probably never know, but it will be a small subject that will be brought up when he has a good laugh with some friends at a bar in the distant future.
Meanwhile a protocol droid was on it's way to the hanger to negotiate the required information about Talon's past, in an effort to find out exactly what is going on and what can be done about it, if anything..

While the Jedi were in the Hanger talking to the AI on the Freedom's Hope, Talon was coming around slowly, remembering what had happened and what he had done in the immediate vicinity. He tried to get up but was restrained to his bed for his and every-ones safety. The dark entity was still speaking in his mind and kept telling the former Imperial Knight that he was trapped, he was it's prisoner and everything he had done or was going to do was because the voice wiled it so, but it felt as if it was somehow nullified, possibly by the sedatives or his unconscious state, since it was only being heard while he is awake. There is a few medical staff roaming about from bed to bed, and one notices Talon rousing, notifying the group in the hanger with a tap on a datapad..
His head was buzzing from the missile that he knocked himself out with and for some reason his right hand felt cold, not just temperature wise but as if his joy was leaking from it. The only thing of notice about this hand is that he was wearing the ring of the now dead Xeonon Soloman. He wanted it off right now but was unable to use the Force to do so, those sedatives probably neutralized a Jedi's abilities in case of something happening.
Can somebody take this thing off of me please?!
He attempted to wiggle his limbs free to rip the dammed thing off himself but was unsuccessful, and is starting to get more and more agitated which can be seen from the increasing beeping of the monitors hooked up to him

*Kronos sat waiting in the Infirmary wearing his brown Jedi robes. A stark contrast to the get up he had worn the last time he had seen Nalatua'lin. His slitherhorn sat between his feet in it's case; he was going to practice later. He sat patiently, waiting. He knew this is where the Twi'lek healer spent most of her time, but she was probably busy. He could wait, but needed to tell her the news. The news that he would be leaving Corellia for a time. He carried the drawing with him. He would show her that too. She had been a close friend and confidant and he would miss her, but he would be back once he found his place.*
*He heard shouting coming from farther back and saw a patient struggling with some restraints. The poor guy was more likely to hurt himself that way. Kronos stood, more from reflex than anything else and walked over not knowing for sure what the patient was going through. He spoke gently and quitly to the struggling individual. Kronos recognized him, but didn't recall his name.*
"Calm down, friend." *Kronos said gently, keeping his own voice calm. "If you struggle too much, you may hurt yourself. Focus on your breathing. Breathe deeply - in and out."
*Kronos tried to lead the man through some basic meditation. He considered using persuasion on the man to help calm him, but he wasn't keen on getting in someone's head. If things didn't improve, Kronos might try it.*

The doors to the Infirmary slid open with a "Bang!" instead of the normal quiet "swooshing," probably good evidence that the interns could be put to use for some more menial tasks to fill up their hours of spare time. Anyway, Nalatua'lin herself, though radiating concern, proceeded smoothly over to Talon's bedside. She noticed Kronos and greeted him with a smile and nod, as well as a quiet, "how are you?" even as she studied Talon's appearance. Her eyes narrowed to slits as she placed her left hand against his forehead and reached for his right wrist with her other hand.
"Odd," she muttered to herself, wondering what Freeda and the MD had been nattering on about. "You, there," she gestured peremptorily towards the shrinking individual who had called her from the hangar, "what exactly had you in a tizzy?" Tchunn twitched, answered reflexively by tchinn, the word 'tizzy' must have been something she'd picked up from the humans in the academy. It certainly wasn't native to Ryloth. "Hmm," she removed her left hand from his forehead which was almost sweaty, in contrast to his hand which was nearly ice cold. She picked up the limb gently and looked more closely. There, twinkling almost as if it didn't want to be seen was a ring on his index finger. Grey eyes considered this. "Kronos, have you seen this before?" she inquired of the Jedi Knight also somehow in attendance here, though she'd seen much stranger things and simply accepted it as a matter of course.
Making a quick decision, she grasped the ring, gently tested to see how firmly it fit, and then withdrew it from Talon's finger. She looked at it curiously.
"Talon. Wake up now, and tell us what is going on."

*Kronos returned Nalatua'lin's smile and nod and answered her question on his welfare.* "Very well, thank you." *He didn't bring up his reason for being here as she went straight to work on the patient. She had to do her job first. He didn't mention the man's outburst though.* "He was struggling right before you came. Trying to get out. I came over here to see if I could help calm him down. I didn't want him to hurt himself. What's wr..." *Kronos let the question drift off and blushed a bit in embarrassment. The question he had been about to ask would have been inappropriate.* "I mean, is he going to be okay?"
*Kronos looked at the ring that Nalatua'lin pulled off the man's finger. He didn't ask to look at it more closely, but he hadn't noticed it before. Of course he hadn't been looking for it.* "No, Master. I don't recall seeing it, but I wasn't looking for it either. It seems to be kind of an odd ring." *From an artistic standpoint, he could admire it, but the way the Twi'lek healer looked at it made him wonder if something else was up with it. Nalatua'lin asked the man to wake up and Kronos waited.

The trip back to the academy was faster than the trip towards the battle. While wishing to strengthen the numbers of those in the field, they could hold their own. However, the boy's condition was unknown and could have been severe, hence the quicker pace. The Corellian Knight moved quickly through the academy halls, Kahn cradled in his arms. Many stopped and stared as he passed, some tried to speak though he progressed on without the slightest word.
Entering the infirmary, the knight laid Kahn on the nearest open bed. Looking around, he saw none of the staff in the current area. He cursed under his breath. There were very few in the infirmary now, none with anything serious that required constant attention. Most likely they might have been out to grab lunch or visit with some of the others. Time was crucial, though. Until the boy's situation was assessed, it needed to be treated as life threatening. Moving over to a near-by console, he paged for a member of the medical team to report to the infirmary.
The boy looked of ten years old, his body dirty and bruised with the occasional burn, appearing of an electrical type. Visibly there were no signs of scars or open wounds, neither internally. His dark blue sleeveless shirt and black pants and boots were no better off, dirty, torn and burnt. The only thing on him that was fine was the ruby stone necklace, the blood color of the stone and gold chain seemed spotless and shone as if new.

~Infirmary, Present Tense~
When Nalatua'lin's comlink beeped with an urgent forward from the infirmary, she shrugged and turned around. Life never did seem to truly settle down around here.
The doors slid open with a quiet swoosh and Nala entered the room accompanied by the rustle of her long, sandy brown robes. Stormy grey eyes took in her surroundings and settled on the body of a youngish lad who was currently unconscious. She headed over to him and began taking notes mentally, lack of serious physical wounds, dirty, bruised a bit, and---she leaned closer, using scissors to remove his shirt she peered at his torso and noted what looked like burn marks.
While hooking Kahn up to a basic life support and monitoring station, she looked over to the side and finally addressed the Jedi who'd brought him to the infirmary in the first place.
"What happened?"

The Jedi stood where he was quietly as Nala came in and looked over Kahn. He was certain she'd ask what the situation was, but until then, he'd say nothing and let her focus on getting Kahn settled. When she finally addressed him, he looked to the floor.
"We had received rumors that a group of people had been purchasing some rather odd things in the near-by city. This didn't bother us much until we heard that a child had kidnapped as well, the identified group being the same. A dark presence had been building in the wilderness a little ways out from the academy, the group turning out to be a group of twelve Sith. We sent a team, though I lead a second team after we discovered the amount we sent wasn't enough. The boy was laying in a clearing where the first team caught the Sith. Right now, the remaining Jedi in the field are engaging the Sith. I returned with the boy alone to ensure he got here quickly. As for what has happened, I'm afraid I do not know. It is unclear if the Sith were able to do anything to him or not before we arrived."
