"Calm down, Mira," a firm voice broke the silence that otherwise accompanied a small group heading in from the infirmary: a fully functional EmDee followed by a 2-1B, and a younger looking female wearing the traditional tunic of a knight. The group itself was led by a statuesque Rutian Twi'Lek who had addressed her remarks to the young one known as 'Mira,' that individual having noticeably bounced on her toes as they were waiting just outside the hangar. She was too young to know what it was like to receive a summons to the hangar to meet and incoming party. Nala herself was familiar with the adrenalin feeding into the sense of imminent danger and loss, hoping that some could be saved, but not able to judge for certain till later.
After a few words with the flight controller, she led her small entourage over towards the designated landing spaces, and halted. She straightened her already meticulous robes, and ignored the slight squeak as the two droids lowered a gurney. She wasn't sure what the nature of the injuries were yet.

The fighter craft escorts flying toward the Jedi Academy ahead of the Defender Cruiser peeled off as the purple and gold painted craft began to slow on approach to the Hangar bay. As the landing struts on the cruiser extended, the escorts looped around once, slowing their course until the ship touched down on the hangar floor. With the Amethyst delivered, the ships ascended into the atmosphere to refuel and enter hyperspace. As the engines cooled and the exterior lights dimmed, the main entry ramp of the ship lowered to the ground.
The cries emanating from the ship were not from a mass of wounded soldiers or dying civilians- though the first two sentients to descend- a male wookiee and a female Twi'lek- both had spent some time getting to know the ship's first aid kit. The well-armed pair were followed by a human woman, abnormally tall, thin to the point of being bony, wrapped in a velvet purple robe but with the presence of the Force wound tightly about her. In her arms was a wrapped bundle of similar purple velvet- the source of the screams from the ship.
"Jedi Master," the Twi'lek said. "My partner and I were hired to see the return of one of your own. She is from the Ossus academy but your facility was closer and time was paramount to her. This is the Lady-"
"Aldes Malvern," the woman, Aldes, said. "I need someone to look- to see to my son. If he's all right. I haven't seen a doctor since giving birth and need to know if he's healthy. Please."

As the purple and gold craft landed and its ramp lowered, Nala motioned to Mira to join her and the two of them proceeded towards the diverse pair heading down the ramp. Lekku twitched a greeting to the Twi'Lek even as Nala half-bowed to the two of them, obviously an escort, and looked beyond to the squalling infant in the arms of his mother. His mother who seemed to be the Jedi in question. As far as Nalatua'lin knew, the Ossan academy had been left in ruins, and understandably they seemed relieved to have arrived on Corellia. Quick eyes, and sensitivity in the Force told her that the only potential injury at the moment was from the infant and the mother who seemed to be a bit emaciated.
"Welcome to the Corellian Academy, I am Nalatua'lin." She motioned to herself before waving at the young woman with her, "This is Mira."
"Thank you for bringing her to us, if you are hungry, Mira can show you to the Mess Hall. Pardon me?"
Somehow the Twi'Lekan Jedi Healer slipped between the two of them and approached the Countess and her child. She inclined her head ever so slightly to the other woman, tchunn hanging limp in front of her while tchinn dangled down her back. She reached her arms toward the infant, and paused.
"May I?"
Given that the woman had arrived in haste, and that she was palpably afraid for her child, Nala was not about to interfere with the instincts of a terrified mother and simply grab the child, even if that would speed things up.

The pair of scruffy looking bodyguards seemed to take their cues from Aldes, visibly relaxing as she descended the ramp. While not exactly trigger happy, the wookiee's hand was never far from his bowcaster, and the Twi'lek's vibroknife wasn't far from reach either. Her own Lekku returned the greeting, though her smile at recognizing one of her own quickly faded. She grimaced as the Lady descended with the squalling kid, as only one who's been in the constant company of a child that won't stop screaming would.
"Mess hall will be unnecessary. We're here to deliver her and the child, answer questions you have about her whereabouts and the like. After that, Hani and I are collecting our paycheck and skipping off world." The Twi'lek grinned. "That's the furball, obviously. My friends call me Neera if I'm wanted for anything in system."
Hani growled as Nalatua'lin approached the countess, ready to step in between the two but Neera waved him off. The wookiee's throat continued to rumble like far distant thunder as the two Jedi came face to face.
Aldes waited for a moment, taking a deep and shaky breath before leaning forward and handing the screaming baby over to the Jedi healer.
"His name is Sekenn. He's a little over three months, I think."

"'Her' being Aldes Malvern?" Why couldn't she answer for herself? Nala wondered. "Alright then, where have you been for the past six months just prior to birth and then after?" While that might seem like an odd question on the surface it would narrow down possible ailments in the child and tell her what kinds of pathogens he might have been exposed to. Given the Countess' appearance, Nala guessed she hadn't been eating well, and if the mother wasn't eating well, then the child probably wasn't either.
Stormy grey eyes peered into Lady Malvern's face for a moment, then the Twi'Lek reached out and patted the other woman's shoulder comfortingly. "Don't worry. You're among friends now."
And then, carefully, after draping her lekku down her back (the last thing she needed was a terrified or angry infant attempting to grab one), she scooped the wailing baby from his mother's arms and cradled him in her left arm, carefully supporting his neck, while peering into his eyes. She attempted a gentle rocking motion, while stepping to the side and indicating to his mother to follow her. She shooed the med team back towards the infirmary as the group headed off.
"If you'll come with me to the infirmary? No sense exposing Sekenn to the pollutants of a hangar bay longer than strictly necessary."
"Three months... you think?" unspoken was the question how could a mother not know how old her child was? but Nala realized that she did not know her yet, and pointed inquiry would have to wait till she knew what had happened. With the chaotic state of the galaxy she was aware that strange and cruel things happened to people. So, while her instincts as a Healer were to call down the mother for inattention and lack of care for her child, as a Jedi she waited to see whether such was justified.

"She has a name," Aldes said with a wry smile directed at her bodyguard. "And she can speak for herself, for the most part."
The blue skinned Twi'lek blushed slightly, waving Hani up the ship's gangplank and leaving the Jedi to interact with the healer on her own. Aldes breathed a slight sigh of relief. The pair had seen her this far without harm, but they were a little rough around the edges when she wanted nothing more than smooth serenity. As it stood, Nalatua'lin would be the first of many Jedi expecting a report on her whereabouts over the past year.
"I was sent from Ossus to run the Mandalorian blockade over Yavin a little over a year ago. My ship was intercepted by a Mandalorian battle cruiser before I could hit atmosphere and... I spent a little over a year on board in the holding cells. Sekenn... He was unplanned. After He was born, time just- it passed. I fed him and cleaned him with what I could. I didn't find out until a few weeks ago that the crusade had been defeated. The Mandalorians were intercepted by a Republic battle group in the deep core, along with members of my- the household guard. The ship was boarded, I was freed, and the closest Jedi temple was here."
Seeing Sekenn in the arms of Nalatua'lin left Aldes struggling to get her breathing under control. While she had kept the child fed and clean as best she could, the hold of a Mandalorian battle cruiser was not the ideal place to raise a baby. Her own sense of the Force told her that Sekenn wasn't in any immediate danger, but beyond this, she didn't trust herself to be objective with his care. Doctors across the galaxy recused themselves from treating those closest to them, and Aldes knew it would be for the best if Nalatua'lin observed the child for as long as necessary to ascertain his health.

Black penciled eyebrows arched steeply as Nala flicked her gaze back over to the Countess. What was heavily implied was that the baby was the result of a liaison with one of her captors, although, she did not judge her for it. Every woman has a few secrets.
"I see, in that case, we'll start with a full medical exam once we get to the infirmary," her shapely lekku twitched as she nodded her head as if she was ticking off points on a mental list, "do you know if baby Sekenn," she tapped the infant's nose with a fingertip and shocked the wee person into blinking at her in surprise as he gulped some air, "has received his vaccinations yet?"
Sometimes objectivity was not of paradigm importance. Subjective care could catch a trend or note something unusual, however, balance was key with this as with most other things. Nala smiled warmly over at the Countess, and led off down the corridors to the infirmary. Juggling responsibilities for a second, she grabbed at her comlink and told Mira in no uncertain terms to acquire a bottle of baby formula, and no she did not care what other things had to be set aside at the second, it had better be ready when she arrived.

"He has," Aldes said shakily. "I think. The Mandalorians brought in a medical droid from time to time. They injected him with something but never said what. The soldiers were talking about keeping him, if he wasn't sensitive to the Force."
The Countess followed a step behind Nalatua'lin, a visitor to a new and unfamiliar temple, all the way to the infirmary...

(Apparently I just jump in...)
A single ship flew down during all the proceeding details. This ship was a transport that belonged to the Republic. It was any regular small ship, and it carried three passengers. The pilot, co-pilot, and a timid togruta pacing around in cirlces waiting for the ship to land.
I have no idea what's going on! I know who my master is, and I know what the planet is, but what about missions? Do we have a mission? I was told everything would be explained in time, but I want to know what I'm doing... Oh, Force, help...
With the sound of the ship landing on the ground, the sixteen year old girl stopped pacing. She was told by the pilot that she was at her destination. The child politely bowed and exited the ship, Thank you, sir! She spoke to him telepathically (as she was mute) then left the ship.
The hanger around her was all a blurred. She recognized nothing but the fact that this place was busy with people tending to ships, ships taking off, pilots chatting, and droids tediously doing their own dirty works. The girl's blue eyes were open in complete awe, her black clothes staring to feel heavy as she stepped right into a gust of steam. The girl caught herself and coughed, stepping away from it. Then, out of the bloom, she recognized a certain person she had read about briefly before coming her from the Jedi Temple.
This must be her! Oh, please let it be her... She girl walked properly towards the Jedi master nearby, talking to some others. she went by the name Aldes Malvern. Then the new padawan just stood there, not wanting to interrupt anything important. So silently, she waited for her proper time to speak.

Neera had had quite enough of sitting around and waiting for her ticket off world. On top of that, the remaining 20% of the finders fee from the House of Malvern had yet to come through into her and Hani's account for their part in retrieving the new Countess. Tandor was supposed to be at the hangar an hour ago with their ship to get the two of them out of the temple, but noooooo- their pilot had to get sidetracked at a swoop race losing all their money by betting on the wrong bike.
Her lekku twitched impatiently as she opened her datapad for the 27th time that hour and checked the account- and they were still short. She opened her mouth to utter the regular colorful curse words when Hani nudged her, growling in the Wookiee's native bark at the newly arrived Togruta kid.
And she was just a kid, if her size was any indication. But what was a kid doing on a Lambda shuttle with Jedi markings? Padawans didn't get any private transport...
Hani growled quielty, pointing at Carona.
"What," Neera asked, raising an eyebrow. "You sure?"
((Of course!)) Hani answered. ((Besides, you're bored, Tandor's late, and she's a kid so she'll be dumb as a brick. This'll be fun.))
Neera grinned, nodding as she slipped the datapad back into her belt. "Alright," she said. "But she's got a saber, so don't take it too far."
Hani nodded, then started walking back toward the hangar entrance, circling around behind Carona slowly. It wasn't easy to hide a seven foot walking carpet, so Hani made sure to take his time, moving through one of the steam vents just outside of Carona's view.
Minutes later he was a few steps behind the girl, picked up his pace, and shoved her full on with all of his wookiee strength. Before Carona could hit the floor at that speed, the bounty hunter reached out and clutched her arm in both of his massive hands, yanked her upright, spun her around and in perfectly polite growling said ((I'm so sorry! I'm so very sorry! Please forgive me! That was my fault.))
Hani being a fully grown wookiee, draped head to toe in ammunition cartridges, armor plates, and carrying a bowcaster and net slung over his back, the words came out sounding a little bit more aggressivley than their meaning, like:
"RRRAWRRRRWAWWAAAAARRGRRAAAAAAAAAWR!!!!!!!"
It was an old trick and primarily relied on the fact that most people in the galaxy didn't understand wookiees, either their speech or their mannerisms. Most of the nearby dockworkers and droids stopped and stared. A security trooper even put his hand on his stun blaster, looked at the wookiee, then at the pistol he held, and thought better of it.
Neera came running up to Carona during the incident. The armored Twi'lek bounty hunter raised both her hands in a calming gesture at Hani and said to Carona, "I'm sorry, but he says you need to watch where you're going. He wants an apology."

Carona growled for a moment. She was watching where she was going! How the heck did she run into these guys?? She sighed though, always maintaining her politeness and trying her best not to get deeper into trouble. I'm so sorry! She telepathically spoke to both of them, This won't happen again! And before they could do or say anything else, she was running off again.
After she made it a short distance, she slowed and looked around again. She was only searching for a single Jedi Master... but how could she find one way out here? She sighed and continued in her hunt - being more careful of where she was walking this time.

The artificial intelligence that lived within the 'Freedom's Hope' has been winding down the time since it was used last by playing multiple games of pazzak anonymously in one of the local bars by transmitting instructions to an amateur player via datapad.
Said player has been making mincemeat out of his competition, who are non to pleased at his current winning streak, but didn't make a fuss as it was a friendly game.
Between helping this unlucky player and listing off random hyperspace routes and coordinates, she( as the program prefered to materialise as a miniature humanoid figure using the on-board holo-systems installed to the Defender Corvette, and prefered the name 'Freeda') didn't even notice the other Defender Corvette land into the hanger hardly a stones throw away.
When she did however, she was not impressed.
Imagine if you will a group of giggly high school girls, huddled together in a group, ignoring everything and everyone else untill a lonely unpopular student walks by, whereas the aforementioned group stop what they are doing and attempt to burn a look of contempt into the back of said loner's smelly skull.
Freeda considered herself the cool ship here, pockmarked and battle-scarred, obvious signs that she has nails, and that she knows how to use them. She considers this purple and gold 'thing' to be invading her personal space, and vented her frustration by shooting some old grease and oil from one of the ships turrets.
A single comms message beeps inside this other ship as the liquid slams against part of the hull, dripping scum and muck all over..
'So sorry, one of my cannons mis-fired'.
Freeda has just metaphorically spat at the new kid in the class.
What a Jealous bitch for a ship.

The Amethyst was a relatively new ship, purchased by special order for the House of Malvern with the Corellian shipbuilding corporations. While her exterior was that of an ancient vessel not seen since the galactic Cold War, the interior systems and engines were modern works. Thus, Amy, the ship's computer, couldn't help but take offence to this liquid based attack on the craft. But being purchased and assembled by a noble house, her response to this crude attack on her hull was a bit more measured and methodical.
Amy took Freeda's apology in stride while she sent out a shipboard communication to her droids. ::Perfectly understandable,:: she 'said' back to Freeda. ::An old thing like you has trouble controlling your fluid release valves. Happens to even the best ships eventually. You might want to look into lubricant line protection products before you have another accident, though.::
A pair of Agromech droids zipped down the Amethyst's ramp to address the mess, though only one actually went to perform clean up. The other droid zipped up to the lower part of the hull, opened a blow-torch apparatus from its body, and proceeded to scorch the words "OLD HAG" on the base of Freeda's hull.

Freeda enjoyed this little spat, but decided to end it now,
She fired up the main engines, started her takeoff procedure then made a slow taxi run towards one of the larger maintenance bays at the back of the hanger, mainly to get a good going over and a clean after the 'Pulple Princess' used a droid to tag the hull.
The quickest path to her destination was right past this 'Amy' slagheap, all high and mighty that she is. Nobal born to a 'House' or not, Freeda would act on this 'Old Hag' Moniker right now.
As she neared 'Amy', Freeda, gunned the engines for a half-second and slid sideways on the port side using the opposite thrust of her starboard thrusters.
Bang her hammerhead configuration went against the younger ships' hull with a loud clang that would be heard from outside of the hanger.
'Oh dear, There must be some wiring loose somewhere in my systems.. Sorry for that..'
She gives the main engines another go, not trying to move away as both ships screech as outer hull plating is being pulled along hull plating.
Freeda is leaving her mark, digging her nails in so it starts to hurt, and loving every second of it. She has fabricated a false report that her stabilizers need looking at due to this 'accident' for the bay crews to have a look at..
She eventually separates from the other corvette and reluctantly continues forward her destination, although she stops just to port and behind the younger version of herself and lands again, with a clunk and hiss as the hydraulics take the slack and keep the hull from touching ground.
With the ship on the floor and stable, Freeda gives the main thrusters all she has got, turning the colour of the exhaust flame from a dull orange to super-hot white, trapping the aforementioned droids between herself and the hull of their owner, giving said ship a very dark brown burn on her side, minus the outline of the now cooked to melting point droids.
FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEM!
Her own landing gear was slowly moving across the hanger floor, making their own marks as Freeda furiously burned the forward stabilizers to stop her hurtling throughout the hanger.
Yet more 'accidents' to put into the hanger crews' time she thinks to herself with an inward smile at her 'artwork'.
'Dear dear, what must you think of me young child, i am most regrettably sorry for this whole thing.. P..please let me cover the costs of the repairs you will need my dear, like you said, I must have some serious damage myself to take care of.'
With that she shut her thrusters down to taxi in the direction she was heading.
'Toodle-pip, Bitch!'

The damage caused by Freeda's tantrum was extensive, brutal, and absolute. Amy was ever so keen to turn her blasters and undermounted missile launcher around to let the ship have it right in the control module, but the close quarters and populated hangar bay made that an untenable option. A few of the workers had already scrambled into the academy corridors escaping the crazy antics of this mad hag of a cruiser, and Amy would sooner have her power core shut off than see herself lowered to Freeda's level.
While Freeda was busy burning, scraping and denting what felt like everything on her port side, Amy was curiously inactive, not resisting any of the attacks aside from the friction provided by the landing struts of her hull. Her transmitter was highly active however.
When all was said and done, as Freeda was being towed away, a curious blue light began beeping on her console, indicating freshly arrived holomail.
As Amy transmitted copies of her own recordings coreward, she had took a moment to flash her front lights at the retreating Defender cruiser, sending a small army of droids down her ramp to begin repair procedures. ::No hard feelings... Old Hag!::

Some time later, hopefully after the hangar crews had managed to calm things down, a small party entered the hangar bay. Small party meaning one person at this exact moment. Nalatua'lin walked over to the control center and after a quick conversation with the crew on duty, pulled the roster on Talon Fenris' ship. She looked at it, and then at Malvern's ship. The two had evidently gotten into it while their proprietors were otherwise occupied. Mishaps like this could be prevented by routine memory wipes, but some preferred to let their ships' AI develop its own personality. Often it took on the owner's persona, though generally to a warped and exaggerated degree. A small grin tweaked at Nala's lips as tchunn twitched in amusement. It vanished quickly as she was handed a datapad.
Presumably the Countess would join her shortly. She'd been shown to her quarters and was probably settling Sekenn down for a good nap. The Healer tugged at her long robes as she meandered over to the ship in question. A preliminary examination of the exterior hull revealed some entertaining graffiti. Aldes Malvern would be better at communicating with the navicomp than herself though. So for now, she waited.

The lady Malvern arrived in the hangar bay much more suitably dressed than she had earlier. Apparently, on top of outfitting her current rooms with amenities for baby Sekenn, the academy staff had left a suitable wardrobe for her to change into as well. Surprising, she thought, considering she knew she was abnormally tall by most standards in the galaxy.
Still, with Sekenn settled in, a nanny droid activated to watch over him, and a fresh set of robes around her shoulders, the Lady Jedi was only too ready to get back to her regularly scheduled duties as part of the order. Whatever those might be here at Corellia...
"Apologies," she said casually as she approached Nalatua'lin from behind. "Sekenn got a little fussy before going to sleep. And my thanks for these." She raised an arm, indicating the deep brown robe before turning to Talon's ship. "So what... happened here?"
The damage to the Amethyst wasn't something that concerned her much. The ship was insured and could be replaced so long as Amy's core was intact. From what she could tell, nobody had been hurt in whatever had happened here and the pair of mercenaries her Majordomo had hired as escorts were off to the side, sharing a laugh over something or other. Hopefully Talon's ship still had a manifest or uncorrupted databank they could still reference.

"Ahh, Lady Malvern," Nala turned and greeted her, pleased that her robes actually fit pretty well, though perhaps the outer robe would need its hem let out a few inches. "I trust the rooms will suffice and Sekenn is well?"
It was a politeness as she knew that Lady Malvern wouldn't have left her son if anything was actually wrong. She tucked her datapad under her arm and turned to survey the ship's exterior.
"Well, it appears that some sort of spat occurred here in the hangar bay...would you know anything about that?" if she remembered right, Lady Malvern's ship had been parked somewhere nearby. "Anyway, the data core and navcomp should still be fine."
She gestured to an astromech that had just trundled over to assist in the operation. "If you'd let us in?" With a whistled affirmative the droid rolled over to the ship, plugged itself in, and lowered the ramp while keying open the door.

Although Freeda would be more then happy to allow the Jedi on board and have mostly unrestricted access to her systems, she was plenty pissed off at the astromech who had just forced opened a door with some sort of override system.
To that end, a pair of telescopic robotic arms flew out of the oppening and grabbed the small droid to much protest from it.
The droid, who is now in fine distress is being stripped down to its component parts which have made a sizable pile below it, has given up screaming from its vocal box and has simply switched off untill an engineer can take the time to put it back together, or scrap it and use it for parts.
Nevertheless, that droid is history..
The five claws on each 'arm' finish their task and close, before retracting slowly back into the corvette before green lights flash around the open door as an invitation to the Jedi to board the old ship.
the inside of the ship is full of dark colours, and a deep and distant rumble can be detected although its source could not be placed. It would be hard to tell exactly where this ship has been, who has used it and what has happened inside but it shouldn't bee too hard for the Lady Malvern to find out.
Fhat is as long as she and Freeda get along..
Talking about the old hag, she pipes up as the Jedi step inside her hull.
'Please forgive my outburst at that stupid droid, but I do hate it when just anybody thinks they have the right to open me up with an override device. If the fool had simply asked nicely then I would have complied, but no, it had to go down the easy and quick path without thinking about the consequences..'
Just a quick pause before pushing her point forward and to an end of that small matter.
'I thought of all people and groups, your Order would of programmed your droids like you train your Padawans..'
Freeda then imagined for a moment if such training for droids would ever be implemented..
'Welcome to the Freedoms' Hope, I am Freeda, shipboard AI, ready to help in anyway possible..' Freeda's blue holographic image gave a smile and a wave from the large holo-projector in the Communications hub located in the centre of the ship, in front of the two Jedi. She turned her attention towards Lady Malvern.
'I also wish to apologise for any misunderstanding regurding myself and your ship, Lady Malvern. It appears I had a latent Virus running through my systems at the time which I was in the process of purging when it took control, attacked your ship then deleted itself along with any files and data recordings which show any evidence to its existence.'
Freeda shrugged at the Jedi, for indeed any data on the matter had been irrevocably 'cleaned' from her databanks, while other mysterious entries and data had been strategically placed into certain systems and databases to back up the bluff.
She didn't care either way if the Jedi saw through her bullshit, what could they do, make threats? Nope, she could lock and encrypt her databanks and navcomp faster then the best droids here in the academy, then there was her self destruction, which was annoying to say the least.
She awaits word from the two Jedi.
