Even with the suits filter system he could still taste the burnt flesh in the air and smell the singed hair it was truly awful. He couldnt wait to get outside and have a deathstick. With the three men dead much of his rage had been lost, claming down he looked around the room for anything. Most of the screens had been shot out and shattered. There were still a few that worked one of which showed the building, most of it useless but there was one that showed the entrance and he saw the lone gaurd waving a few others order. Damnit looks like that is my cue. At that he could hear the shots open up, blaster rifles and ion shot through the upper floor of the house.
As he waited it out in the basement sparks flew out from power sources, screens jolted and shut out. He backed into the corridor where the lights burst into sparks and blanketed everything in a darkness. The barrage lasted for a while and Bat took the time to reload his weapons and stash them in his suits areas again. Once it finally ended he ventured back into the room and found a drawing utensil. A red marker he wrote on the wall
Watch your back Senator
The bright red lettering waiting for it to be seen after he left safely. Now that it had stopped Barclay did just that, he went to the upper floor and surveyed the damage as he walked. The weapons had chewed through the walls, doors and windows. A small fire had broken out in a corner of the room, the flames slowly licking their way up the wall. Picking a back window which had been totally shot out he jumped over the wall on the opposite side of the building and made his way back to the city.

Barclay's escape goes unnoticed by the guards who wait outside until a unit from the local garrison arrives to sweep the building's remains. They found nothing but corpses, as Barclay had left long before they arrived, due mostly to the aftermath of the bombs he'd set off just outside the compounds walls. They found the control room a total wreck, with the three men still lying where they'd died. A moment later they noticed the writing on the wall. A message was sent back to HQ where it would be reviewed and routed to Coruscant and the Senator's head of security. The Senator was already aware that he had enemies, but he was not currently aware of the fact that he was being actively hunted.

When one looks like a homeless beggar Katsumi has found that one becomes, by and large, all but invisible given that most beings willingly choose to ignore the pariahs of a society. When one has the ability to augment that natural camouflage with telepathic suggestion, as Katsumi's command of the Force enables her to do when she wishes, they can move through a city like an unseen wraith.
For days, Katsumi haunts Edethor like a ghost, moving where she wills, lingering to watch or listen here or there on occasion to the inhabitants of the capital, sampling their lives to gain a general sense of the world's state of affairs. Listening to the conversations of white collar workers hurtling through a large city on mass public transport, the idle chattering of shoppers, shopkeepers, pedestrians, and of crowds of one kind or another, Katsumi has found that she is often able to learn many things of a world without the need to rely on the holonet or the often biased or slanted reporting of local media. Rendili, at a glance, appears to have weathered the demise of the Republic better than most. The world's economy, reliant largely on the starship-manufacturing industry, has, if anything, thrived with so many conflicts raging throughout the galaxy, and its location in the Core Worlds has allowed it to remain at a certain remove from those same conflicts. For now.
The First Order has access to other ship and weapons manufacturers, as well as the resources of the many worlds it has brought the peace and rigidly enforced control of the Imperial way to, but Rendili could be a beachhead to expanding into the Core Worlds. The Alliance, having shown on Dantooine that it has become large and organized enough to be, if not yet a viable threat, at the very least an irritant to the First Order, has no presence on Rendili yet that Katsumi has observed, and so as she continues to haunt the city she begins to plan how to move from gaining a general sense of the world to a a more focused intelligence gathering that will enable her learn of what orbital and ground defenses would need to be contended with were the world to become a prize to be taken.

The pudgy Ortolan pauses upon stepping into his darkened apartment, his keen sense of smell picking up the scent of old sweat, dirt, and mildewed cloth given off by Katsumi an instant before he hears the flapping of her tattered, rotting robes as she drops from her perch above the doorway like a spider. Hammering her fists down on the back of the Ortolan's skull with the Force enhancing the strength and speed of the blow to render the creature unconscious, Katsumi feels it go slack beneath her once the strike has been delivered, and then stands to push the door to the apartment closed after pausing to listen for any sign that the sound of the Ortolan falling to the floor has captured the attention of any neighbors and determining that there is no such sign.
The Ortolan, rare among its kind in that it chose to become a slicer rather than a chef or musician, was not terribly difficult to find for one who knows where to look. Infiltrating the offices of the data security firm that occasionally makes use of talented slicers who, due to a lack of social skills, professional ambition, or other qualities the business world would require of them, hack for other reasons than profit, be it a thirst for knowledge or the mere challenge of penetrating allegedly impenetrable networks. What drove the Ortolan Katsumi plans to use to access Rendili's defense network to learn what forces and allies the world would be able to bring to bear were it to be invaded is of no concern to her, and as she will not be leaving the creature alive when it has served its use to her, will drive it no more soon.
Later, after she has used the Force to dominate the Ortolan's mind so that it bends to her will and uses its talents to gain access to the information she needs, information she silently wrenches from its mind with her command of the drain knowledge ability, Katsumi looks into its empty, beady black eyes as she turns its pudgy face from one side to the other to look for any hint that its mind will recover from being violated, and smiles beneath her skull-like mask when she sees none. Leaving the Ortolan, dead in mind and spirit though its body lingers on, to die from thirst or hunger in the coming days, Katsumi removes her true face and, closing the door to its apartment behind her after packing up the Ortolan's dataterminal so that no evidence of its hacking into the defense ministry's network will ever be found, leaves the broken and empty-headed creature to rot inside. The Ortolan was a solitary wretch, and Katsumi has no need to fear that anyone might notice its passing, at least not until the smell alerts the creature's neighbors.
Knowing now that Rendili, with the Republic having failed and left it and many other worlds to fend for themselves, will be able to offer little in the way of resistance were the First Order to invade it, Katsumi begins the journey from the capital to the stolen ship she used to travel to Rendili. Once she has reached the ship, Katsumi plans to report in, and request that a fleet be ordered to Agamar, where she will meet with its commanding officer to plan to invade the world Katsumi has learned is ripe for the taking.

Rendili's planetary governor, residing in Edethor, had ordered the city's shield to be raised once reports had come in from surviving members of the planet's ground defense forces that several of their larger bases and surface to orbit weapons had been destroyed by turbolaser fire from attacking ships in orbit. Rendili's governor, a male Cathar named Mukesh, wasted little time in calling on what military forces he could from the small base located within the city to arrange a defense of the city against the inevitable ground assault he suspects will commence should the planet's orbital defenses prove incapable of preventing the attacking forces from reaching the surface. With no way to communicate with the ships in orbit, the ground forces will need to reply on what can be observed from ground or aerial surveillance.
Using emergency broadcast resources, Mukesh instructs the residents to Edethor to calmly begin making for evacuation shelters, hoping that enough order will be maintained that the military forces can focus on preparing to defend the city from any external threat.
As residents of the capital begin, with varying degrees of calm, to evacuate to shelters, military forces begin to take up defensive positions throughout the city while forward observers move to the rooftops of the taller buildings to watch for any enemy forces approaching, and when the time comes, to help direct artillery fire and troop movements in response to the enemy's tactics.

Only unclenching her jaw once she has set the Muun Orar down several miles from Edethor, Toiréasa breathes a silent sigh of relief as she lowers the Kom'rk-class transport's boarding ramp as she asks her co-pilot in Mando'a, Anything?
Shaking her head after reviewing the instrument panel in front of her, Ksenia replies, No sign of pursuit, and nothing to indicate any ground forces nearby. Unfastening her safety harness, the Shownarri armored in pale red beskar'gam heads aft from the cockpit as Toiréasa quickly finishes powering the Muun Orar down so that the possibility of being detected by the enemy forces defending the capital is minimized.
Jedrzej and Ksenia, the squad's scouts, have already set out towards Edethor when Toiréasa makes her way down the boarding ramp to join the other members of her traat'aliit, gathered around their Ruus'alor, Zdzislaw Tenau.
Zdizislaw motions for Niall and Tadhg to move out to their assigned positions, and watches them as he tells Toiréasa, The First Order forces and the robed woman in the mask leading them should be here shortly, then we'll hopefully learn specifically what it is they've hired us for.

Disembarking from the troop transport that has successfully borne her to the surface, Katsumi pauses as the Stormtroopers flow with practiced precision from the ship around her while other transports that survived the journey from orbit land nearby to disgorge more and more of the First Order's troopers and their commanders, the empty sockets of her onyx hued skull-like mask turned to the skies to watch as more transports make their way down from the heavens to deliver order to Rendili, whether Rendili wants that gift or not.
Her filthy, tattered mud and blood stained robes flowing behind her, Katsumi motions for the Stormtrooper commander of the force she commands to follow as she sets out for where she can see the leader of the small Mandalorian force that has been brought to aid her forces in taking the capital of Rendili.
"Ruus'alor, Katsumi greets the Mandalorian, You and your team will move out immediately for Edethor. Your task is to infiltrate the capital, locate their shield generator, and disable or destroy it so that our forces can then pacify any resistance within. Her head turning so that the empty eye sockets of the skull mask find the leader of the Stormtroopers, Katsumi explains, Our forces will advance, encircle the city and begin their assault. The assault should occupy the enemy enough that your mission meets with little resistance, provided you act with sufficient expedience and stealth."

Several members of Rendili's defense force within Edethor, stationed in make-shift observation posts atop the city's taller buildings, spot the enemy troop transports landing in the distance, reporting the sightings to their superior officers so that they are better informed where making decisions regarding the city's defense is concerned.
The losses sustained in the opening moments of the invading force's arrival - with turbolaser fire crippling or outright destroying military bases, ground to orbital cannons, and other military assets - having hampered their overall ability to effectively defend Rendili's capital and the citizens sheltering within her walls, the leaders of Rendili's defense force elect to keep the majority of their surviving forces within the safety of Rendili's city shield, sending only a small scouting force, platoon sized, outside to attempt to take up a position that will enable them to report in on the movement of enemy forces more effectively.
Maneuvering in three squads that each employs the bounding overwatch tactic of advancing, the platoon moves away from Edethor, heading roughly west of where the majority of the enemy transports were seen making their way to the planet's surface, and heading swiftly for forested areas so that they have less chance to be observed by the enemy forces they hope to observe without being detected.

Adding, We'll contact you once the shield is down, before turning and motioning for Toiréasa and the other members of his traat'aliit that have not already begun to move for the capital to follow him away from where Katsumi and the commanding officer of the First Order's Stormtroopers are discussing their plans.
Jed and Kse are already underway for Edethor, Zdislaw reminds Toiréasa and Cionaodh, and will be making sure that our advance is as stealthy as possible. Team One, he tells Toiréasa, will take the left flank, and then addresses Cionadh, Two will take the right. We'll avoid engaging the enemy if at all possible, and try to keep noise to a minimum if it can't be avoided. Let's start moving out, the Socorran says, thinking that they will choose their entry point into Edethor based on what Jedrzej and Ksenia observe during their scouting mission.
As the two teams begin their advance, moving initially in expanded wedge formations while maintaining strict noise discipline, Jedrzej and Ksenia press on with their forward scouting mission, alert for any signs of enemy movement outside of Edethor while also watching for movement within the capital as well in order to choose the best possible entry point.

Lieutenant colonel Vreni Kuhn, commander of the battalion of armored division Stormtroopers that has landed on Rendili along with Katsumi Ren and the Mandalorians, nods once the Knight of Ren has made the battle plan clear to convey that she has understood her battalion's role in the invasion, and then moves off to issue orders to her troopers accordingly. Instructing the commanders of the five companies comprising her battalion - each company consisting of a two Imperial assault tank headquarters with two AT-STs and two Imperial combat speeders; a three assault tank MSG platoon; two assault tank mortar section; one assault tank medical evac team; a 3-man Biker Scout sniper team; one assault tank fire support team; and thee four assault tank rifle platoons, each of which is accompanied by three rifle squads and one weapons squad of Stormtroopers - to spread out in a semi-circular approach pattern with the capital of Rendili at its center to begin the assault on Edethor.
The bipedal AT-STs of each of the five tank companies deploy first, to swiftly recon ahead of their respective companies so that the captains or majors leading the companies can best deploy their forces in response to whatever resistance they might encounter as they maneuver for Edethor. As the assault is, in part, intended to provide a distraction that, it is hoped, will enable the Mandalorian force to go unnoticed for as long as possible, Lieutenant Kuhn instructs her Stormtroopers to prioritize haste over stealth as they move on Edethor.

The Rendili Defense Force sergeant leading the squad first to observe the approach of the AT-STs scouting ahead of one of the tank companies advancing on the capital orders his heavy weapons specialists to switch their DC-17m Interchangeable Weapon Systems to the anti-armor configuration and begin maneuvering covertly into position to fire on the AT-STs on his order, with his riflemen, automatic weapons specialists and team leaders moving into covering positions where they can support the heavy weapons specialists while watching for the forces the AT-STs are scouting for. The sergeant knows he won't be able to do much more than harry the enemy once his squad loses the element of surprise and faces the overwhelming odds sure to be fast approaching, but he can at least let his comrades in the capital know what is heading their way.
Once he has sent word to his superiors in Edethor, who will now have a window of opportunity to redistribute the troops and T4-B heavy tanks fortunate enough to have been based within or near enough the capital to have escaped the initial attacks from orbit to better make a stand against the enemy, the sergeant joins his troops as they find cover, waits for the AT-STs to come in range, and then orders his heavy weapons specialists to fire on the control cabins of the combat walkers.
Nearest to the advancing Mandalorian team inbound for the capital, the squad of Rendili Defense Force soldiers fails to detect their presence, instead drawn to the sound of the approaching combat walkers. Rather than engaging the chicken walkers, the sergeant uses hand motions to signal her team to seek cover, deciding to allow the walkers to pass so that she can get a better look at who and what the walkers are scouting for so that she can relay that intel back to Edethor.

The first of the AT-STs to be fired on is eliminated when the anti-armor round destroys its command cabin, killing both pilot and gunner instantly. The second AT-ST, while meeting a similar fate, manages to fire bursts from its chin mounted twin blaster cannons accompanied by a single shot from a cheek mounted concussion grenade launcher onto the position of the enemy heavy weapons specialists when its gunner spots the movement of one of the specialists just before he fires one of the rounds that destroys the command cabin seconds later, killing the gunner and pilot.
The destruction of the AT-STs alerts the company they had been scouting ahead for, and the company's leader orders his MSG platoon to assume a Vee formation, given that the enemy situation is as yet vague enough to warrant sending a smaller force ahead to make contact with the enemy, with the Vee formation giving the platoon firepower to both its front and flanks. Halting the remainder of his company while the thee Imperial assault tank MSG platoon advances, the company leader orders his remaining units to assume coil formations, a temporary measure providing all around security and observation while they wait to learn what the advancing MSG platoon encounters.
The squad of Rendili Defense force troopers that goes to cover, allowing the AT-STs to advance unmolested, will soon observe the lead element of the tank company advancing in column formation, the platoon currently traveling mounted with squad members scanning their designated areas of observation. For now, the lead element's squad members have not spotted the Rendili Defense force troopers, but their level of alertness may soon change that . . .

Nearest to the advancing Mandalorian team inbound for the capital, the squad of Rendili Defense Force soldiers fails to detect their presence, instead drawn to the sound of the approaching combat walkers. Their mission parameters are to avoid engaging any enemy forces unless it proves necessary, and so the Mando'ade squadron, directed by the scouts it has moving ahead of its position, maneuvers stealthily away from them. Toiréasa signals for her team to come to a halt when the sound of explosions are heard somewhere behind and west of their position, and is not surprised when Zdzislaw, the squadron's leader, orders them to resume its advance with an increase in pace. The tempo of the fighting between the RDF and First Order is only going to increase, but the closer it comes to Edethor, the more difficult it will be to enter the city unobserved.Toiréasa, after assigning her team positions when Zdzislaw calls the next halt and signals her and Cionaodh to rally on his position, makes her way to where their squad leader is crouched beside a crumbling tree trunk, viewing the capital city's eastern-most outskirts through his buy'ce's rangefinder. Nodding after Zdzislaw tells them that they are holding their current position for the time being, waiting for their scouts to ascertain where the capital city's layout offers the greatest chance of maintaining stealth, Toiréasa returns to her team's position, which enables them to watch over the squadron's 3 to 9 o'clock while the second team secures the squad's 9 to 3 o'clock. Ahead of the squadron's position, with Jedrzej acting as the sniper team shooter while Ksenia serves as spotter, the scouts observe any troops visible from their camouflaged position, as well as the layout of the streets behind the city's shield, and other features of the urban area they are looking for the most covert entry point into.

Accompanying the tank company that has encountered resistance, Katsumi, mounted among the Stormtroopers riding the tanks that remain behind as the smaller group of tanks forges ahead, watches the MSG platoon move ahead to search for the enemy and then closes her eyes beneath the onyx-hued skull mask she considers to be her true face. Submerging herself in the titanic depths of the Force that are hers to explore and command, Katsumi sends her awareness outwards as a huntsman would cast out the hounds to search for the scent of their quarry, attempting to find the enemy troops that have destroyed the company's AT-ST's. Amidst the riot of life around them, sentient beings are difficult, but not impossible to single out, and the fact that the enemy soldiers will be experiencing the high emotions enkindled by the invasion of their homeworld should serve as a beacon for one attuned to the Force, especially one who routinely feeds off of or incites the fear, anger, and other sentiments war and battle excite.
Dry, cracked lips curling into a smile her grinning skull mask conceals, Katsumi's relaxed, cross-legged posture stiffens as the susurrus of the Force reveals to her the minds of the enemy troopers laying in wait somewhere ahead of them. The enemy might have found cover to conceal them from the MSG platoon searching for them, but there is no cover to be found from the power at Katsumi's command now that she has their scent. Focusing her will on marshaling the power she wields, fashioning it into one of the mental weapons she has at her disposal, Katsumi calls upon the power of Force Affliction, and then rolls it like a poisonous miasma towards the minds of the enemy so that, as the tanks of the MSG advance in search of them, the enemy finds themselves afflicted with a mental toxin that slows their bodies and minds . . .

His heavy weapons specialists killed by the AT-ST that gets off a concussion grenade shot before it is destroyed has his remaining men find cover as the enemy tanks approach their position, and as the sergeant is sending an encrypted holonet message to his superiors in Edethor relaying the position of the tanks requesting artillery fire, begins to feel the effects of Katsumi's telepathic attack. His thoughts becoming sluggish, his limbs feeling heavy, the sergeant finds it increasingly difficult to focus on what additional actions he should take. His men likewise afflicted, the squad slowly succumbs to lethargy, remaining under cover as the tanks come closer.
Three T4-B heavy tanks stationed outside of Edethor with a small company of troops, after receiving the request for supporting artillery fire, elevate their concussion missile launchers to send a volley of missiles into the position that had accompanied the request, and when the gunners have lined up their shots, fire a volley of missiles that are soon rushing out to strike the enemy tanks.
Within the city shields, acting on the reports from both squads scouting for the incoming enemy, Rendili Defense Force commanders deploy troops and vehicles to positions within the city offering the more defensible positions from which the enemy can be engaged once they are in range.
The leader of the second recon squad, once the enemy's column formation is visible, has his men remain under cover as he sends the formation's position to his superiors. T4-B tanks outside of the capital's shield and near enough to the recon squad's position to send a barrage of concussion missile fire into the center of the approaching tank column's formation fire their missiles a moment later, waiting for additional reports from the squad so that they can send more missiles out to stall or halt the enemy advance.
As the First Order attack, designed to attract the attention of the capital's defenders, has succeeded in drawing attention away from the small team of Mandalorians so far, the Mando snipers will find an invitingly lightly defended area of the city soon after they begin their search. Troops having been deployed more heavily to those areas in the path of the enemy tanks approaching the city, only a small squad of ten troops has taken a position behind a barricade at the end of a street near the city shield's outer edge, with a pair of troopers in a tall building near their position acting as forward observers.

Leaving Jedrzej in position to watch over the enemy squadron that they have determined is holding what is likely to be their entry point into Edethor, Ksenia makes her way stealthily back to where Zdzislaw and the rest of the Mando'ade traat'aliit are waiting for her to report in.
Zdzislaw, after Ksenia has made her report, knows that the clock is probably running out on how long they have before the conflict between the First Order and Rendili's Defense forces within Edethor heats up and makes entering the city undetected even more difficult. One squad of enemy troops does not worry him, but Zdzislaw would prefer not to engage them if it can be avoided so that they can remain undetected for as long as possible. Eliminating the squadron comes with the risk of alerting any nearby defense force troops to their presence, or of the squad managing to comm for support before its members are all taken out.
All of the members of the traat'aliit are prepared for the plan that Zdzislaw comes up with to try and enter Edethor undetected to fall apart for one reason or another, but gamely make the attempt to the best of their abilities all the same.
Ksenia, returning to her previous position with Jedrzej, watches over the enemy squadron as the other members of the traat'aliit maneuver, with Jed prepared to try to take out the squad's lookouts if they detect the traat'aliit's movements, ideally before they can alert the members of their squad securing the barricade on the streets below.
With Cionaodh and his team acting as the overwatch element and take a concealed position that gives them lines of fire on the defense force squad's position, Toiréasa and her team, moving in an expanded wedge formation so that they cannot all be taken out from a single line of fire, act as the bounding element and move out for a street to the east of the enemy squad's position.
Toiréasa, moving at the head of the wedge formation, holds briefly before she leaves the last bit of cover she and her team will have until they are within the city shield, where they will have the cover of the buildings to conceal them from the enemy squad. Figuring that she and her team have a fair enough chance to reach the buildings to the east of the enemy position without drawing attention to themselves, Toiréasa signals her team to move out and then leads her team at a quick pace for the city street ahead, alert for any sign of enemy contact from ahead.

The trip down from orbit a tense and bumpy one, their LAAT taking a few solid laser hits to their shielding along the way, Vashity had held on tight to keep from being thrown around as the transport dodged the lasers fired towards them while she answered Arduino's question about how large a force the First Order might have waiting to play with them when they get planetside in between the whaps and thwaps of laser impacts against the shields. The size of the fleet she had learned of while on Agamar was larger than the one they had briefly seen when exiting hyperspace, but since that only means that the First Order may have broken into more than one group as part of their overall invasion plan, Vashity could only answer with an estimation based on the probable composition of the fleet her intel gathering had led to expect to encounter here over Rendili. "Bigger, better armed, and better supported than what we got probably," had been Vashity's answer, delivered in her usual bantering tone. Not wanting to be a downer, Vashity had added some witty, optimistic banter too, like, "That's nothing new though," and, "When has that ever stopped us," and, for good measure, "It'll just make winning all the more impressive and cool." Banter aside, Vashity knows that they are probably heading into a fight that cannot be won, but standing against tyranny and evil is a part of everyone aboard the transport's job description, and she feels pretty sure that, like her, everyone that has volunteered to make the stand here are not about to just walk away from the fight just because the odds are against them.
Once they have entered Rendili's upper atmosphere and are not under fire for at least a few moments, Vashity asks Arduino, "Who's in charge of this unit? Any chance we can ask 'em to have the pilot do a bit of quick recon before we set down? Be nice to know where the Plastic Boys are before we hit the ground, right? With communications jammed, we're going to have a tough time coordinating with Edethor's military, but if the Firsties aren't too close to the city, maybe we can set up in front of the city shield and hope that lets Edethor know we're on their side."

Two of the tanks in the MSG platoon sent to scout the area where their AT-STs had been destroyed fall to the unexpected artillery fire sent from outside the capital. The company's commander, deciding that making haste for their primary objective has become more tactically sound than continuing a more cautious advance now that it is apparent that Rendili's defense force has scouts of their own deployed and clearly sending intel to artillery units positioned outside of Edethor's city shield, orders his remaining tanks to assume a column formation that will simplify control as they move at full speed on towards Edethor, while also providing good security and the ability to deploy rapidly into whatever formation best suits whatever they encounter upon reaching their objective. The Stormtrooper rifle and weapons squads dismount as the company moves out, assuming a column formation themselves, led by an eight man base team and on high alert for any enemy contact they might encounter.
The other company that comes under fire loses only one tank to enemy artillery fire, and aside from increasing the speed of their advance and having their Stormtrooper squads dismount and form up in column formation to avoid losing any troopers to additional enemy artillery fire that might come their way, makes no changes to the disposition of its tanks. Adjusting its course to utilize any cover or concealment the terrain offers along the way, the company rushes towards Edethor.
A third tank company, hindered by the terrain more than the others, is in position to observe the surviving LAATs that begin to arrive from orbit, and report their observations to Lieutenant colonel Vreni Kuhn, who leads the battalion of armored division Stormtroopers under Katsumi Ren's command. Sending a company of tanks to come about and maneuver into a position to watch for the inevitable advance of the enemy troops carried by the LAATs, Kuhn continues on with his own company for the capital.

Figuring that she and her team have a fair enough chance to reach the buildings to the east of the enemy position without drawing attention to themselves, Toiréasa signals her team to move out and then leads her team at a quick pace for the city street ahead, alert for any sign of enemy contact from ahead. Fortunately for the Mandalorians, the squad defending the position nearest to where they make their entry attempt has their attention drawn to the First Order forces rapidly approaching the city. The sentries in the building occupied with reporting the positions of the enemy tanks that are moving from cover to their superiors fail to observe the Mandalorians as they enter the city, while the troops holding the barricade are either occupied with awaiting new orders or observing the enemy advance with an eye towards moving to where they might be able to deter their progress.
Once Toiresa reaches the street she and her teammates are bound for, she will be met only with empty, silent streets ahead, at least for now. Berdine is not surprised by Vashity's answer to Arduino's question, having anticipated that the odds they would be facing here on Rendili would be firmly against them, nor is she particularly dispirited to find her suspicions were not unfounded. Despite her beliefs, despite Master Jyotish's warnings, and despite her own determination to keep thoughts of avenging her fallen comrades on Dantooine, Berdine can feel her anger and hatred for the First Order and all it represents simmering beneath the surface of her mind, lacing her thoughts with a desire to set aside her role as a healer and use her training in combat to do all that she can to prevent the First Order from putting its boot on the neck of yet another world, no matter the odds against her and her allies.
Berdine, unaware that her hand has fallen to her saberstaff hilt as though in anticipation of when she will be able to use it against the minions of the First Order below, frowns in impatience when Vashity asks if they can remain in the air to make a surveillance run, delaying the time it will take for her to meet the enemy they are here to confront. Closing her eyes when she becomes aware of her thoughts, Berdine reaches out to the Force, asking for It's guidance and protection from all that being here and confronting the First Order will entail, as well as against what it incites within her.

"I think I liked you better when you were being more motivational than honest, Arduino half jokes when Vashity answers his question about the size of the First Order's ground forces they can expect to encounter once they reach the ground. Nodding towards the Alliance lieutenant leading the platoon carried by the LAAT/i they have hitched a ride in, a thin human male with a shaggy head of blonde hair and a lazy left eye, Arduino says, Lieutenant Wrotny is in command of this platoon," and then asks the Lieutenant if their pilot can do a bit of surveillance before they join the other Alliance troops assembling at the LZ Colonel Ua'niall had selected.
Lieutenant Wrotny, open to Vashity's suggestion, has their pilot take the LAAT up so that they are out of range of any artillery fire, and then does a flyover of the terrain approaching the capital. Noting the locations of any enemy forces visible from the air, the LAAT then turns about and makes for the Alliance LZ.
Disembarking with the Alliance troops once they have set down at the LZ, Arduino pauses to wait for Berdine, Jyotish and Vashity to join him before heading for where Ua'niall has set up his command center. The LAATs that survived the trip to Rendili's surface, some carrying AT-TEs, begin landing and offloading the Alliance troops and vehicles preparing to deploy and confront the First Order's forces moving on the capital.
