Rules: Staffs and Force only. Three strikes to head and body for the win.
Location: Rhen Var: Mountain Bridge (May not like it but it seemed suitable to me)
Our duelists find themselves facing each other. Swinging back and forth on a rope bridge that stretched itself from one mountain ridge to the next. The biting cold and swaying of the bridge made even worse by the chilling mountain wind coming from the side. It was clear that any wrong move could cause the old wood under foot to break and send you to your death, or an accidental miscalculation with a weapon could snap the very rope that literally was both opponent's life line.

What am I even doing here?
I say the words aloud, but they are smothered by the roaring wind. Not that anybody can hear me, all the way out here. But that just causes my question to resurface.
What AM I doing here?
How could I have possibly ended up halfway up a mountain, and on Rhen Var of all places? I can't remember my journey to this place, but I know that I've been doing nothing but wandering for as long as I can remember. I guess that it's lucky for me that I'm wrapped in incredibly warm robes that still allow me plenty of movement, and that I've been more than negligent about my facial hair that is now proving to be a useful source of insulation.
Whatever it is that I need here, the Force beckoned, and I followed. I look at the bridge before me, wishing that there was some other way to go in the direction I need to. In what I can only describe as a horrible cliche that could only be dreamed up by only the dullest of creative minds, otherwise known as a Mandalorian, the bridge is nothing but fraying rope and rotting wood.
Great, I think to myself. Just kriffing great.
With a sigh, I get on with making my way across the bridge, knowing I have no choice. I raise my walking stick with my left hand and prod at the wooden beams, making sure they aren't going to just give way at the slightest force. I grab the ropes tightly with my right hand, and slowly but surely begin the long and slow process of crossing the rope bridge.

It takes a special kind of stupid to cross a rickety rope bridge in the middle of a snowstorm. Eralam took this as a sign that his processor was in serious need of an upgrade, because fuck. Here he was, brain the size of a planet, and still he contemplated crossing. Ah hell. The why and the how in this situation were far less important than the question of would he or wouldn't he cross.
"Dammit all. The minute I try, some asshole crossing from the other way is going to want to fight. Damn you narrative causality."
The Shard eventually stopped dithering and set off across the bridge. His weapons were useless in this extreme cold. He carried only a wooden staff, equal parts protection and balance in this frozen hell.

My crossing was rocky at first, but after a few yards I was getting into a rhythm. Test the boards. Hold the rope. Step. Test the boards. Hold the rope. Step. It may seem meticulous, but there was no way I was going to step on a faulty board and go plunging to my death, so better safe than sorry.
I made it almost halfway across the bridge before I realized what was happening, despite the fact that it was so obvious that it was going to happen in this setting. As I crossed one way, there was someone else crossing the other way, and we were both heading directly towards each other.
With a sigh, I resigned myself to the fact that today was a Tuesday after a holiday, which meant that it was the first day of work this week and technically a Monday, and Monday is a horrible day to fight someone. And on top of that, Nickelback just popped up on Pandora, and that was enough to put anyone in a sour mood. Carefully, I raised my hand and yelled out to the stranger who was approaching me on the bridge.
Hello! The bridge isn't wide enough! I will retreat and let you pass!
I stood firm for a few moments, making sure that the stranger could hear and see me though the storm.

The stranger was hard to miss. There was room on the bridge for exactly one person to cross. It would take an exceptionally talented acrobat to slide past in this wind. Eralam was pleased to hear that the other fellow wasn't insisting on trying.
"Thanks, but you're further along. It'll be easier for me to turn back."
The words were electronically amplified, the volume turned up as loud as it would go. Unfortunately, a roaring gust of wind blew through the area right as he spoke. There was no telling how the words might have been distorted.

I could barely hear over the wind, but the stranger was using some sort of enhancement to make his words louder. What did he just say? Did he say that he would turn back, even though I just offered? I wasn't sure, but that was what it sounded like.
I draw the air deep into my lungs again, and try to yell out to the man.
No no! I've been wandering around for years, another few minutes of waiting isn't going to hurt!
It was true. I'd been wandering aimlessly for as long as I could remember, with no set destination in mind. It wouldn't hurt me to turn around and wait for a while. I will arrive at my destination exactly when I mean to, no sooner, and no later.
I turned around after yelling to the stranger, and started to slowly make my way back the way I came, turning my back to the other traveler on the bridge.

How heart felt. Unfortunately for both parties, Diva has cut the rope bridge on both ends with the help of Kuroro, causing both parties to fall into a comical death. Never fret, it's the multiverse, and the viewers paid to see blood.
A draw! A beautiful draw!
