*Ellie felt her sisters brief pain through the force. She watched the blaster blot graze across her twins back and her disappear into a hallway. Anger welled up inside Ellie, as she feared that Kaiya might be badly injured. Rather than checking to see if her twin was alright though use of the force, Ellie charged in headlong. Raising her blade in a defensive position, she moved at the soldier with one goal in mind. once she closed the gap, she swung at his good arm, then his head.*

*The soldier switched targets and began to fire again when the other Jedi charged. Only this time he was caught off guard. The person he thought was a Jedi was wielding a red lightsaber, a color he only associated with Sith. This was a Jedi temple, what was she doing her? He would never learn the answer to that. His back hit a wall, he was out of room and out of time. His attacker was on him, first taking his only arm, then removing his head from his shoulders. With a soft thump, both head and body hit the ground at separate time.*
*Upstairs the remaining soldiers erected a shield barrier in the hallway. Swiftly the retreated further away from the barrier, placing explosives along the walls as they did. From their coms, they learned the the rest of the first attackers were closing in on their objectives, while everyone else was setting up ambushes or strong defensive positions in hallways. They knew they weren't going to survive. They just needed to do as much damage as possible before the main force arrived.*

Wincing slightly, Kaiya peers from cover when the sounds of the fighting from the lower floor as well as those from the level above seem to taper off as though there is a lull in the fighting, and then jogs over towards the attacker Ellie had killed, glancing to her twin to verify that she is unharmed. Kneeling beside the attacker to try and see if there is anything to be learned from his gear or weapons, Kaiya asks Ellie, "You good? What should we do vod? Try and regroup with the others on the upper level, or go back outside to watch for any signs this was just an opening attack?"
The questions Kaiya asks are asked by other surviving members of the NIght Jedi on other levels of the enclave; as some Knights and Masters use the enemy's efforts to withdraw behind shield barriers to check for wounded Jedi among the fallen so that healers can be notified, others check for intelligence among the fallen enemy attackers to see if anything can be learned of their enemy. Still other members of the Night Jedi move to positions outside the enclave to watch for any enemy second waves or reinforcements that might try and move in following the confusion of the initial assault. And other members of the Night Jedi seek ways to engage or re-engage the attackers despite their efforts to withdraw behind their shield barriers. Using their knowledge of the enclave's layout, communicating through the Force so that there is no way for their enemy to monitor their communications, Night Jedi teams on multiple floors utilize turbolift shafts, exterior windows, ventilation shafts or maintenance shafts, and in some instances use their lightsabers to cut through the floors themselves to drop down on their enemies from above - seeking aggressively to deny their enemy a moment's peace and to turn the tide of the battle in their favor . . .

*Ellie turned at the sound of her sisters voice. Inwardly she sighed, her twin was safe. She took a moment to collect herself before speaking.* "I..think we need to regroup. The Masters might know something more about these...people." *She glanced down at the man she had just killed. From the looks of him, he had been heavily modified with prosthetic and cybernetic parts. Something about that made Ellie cringe. She also noticed that he carried no symbol of rank or affiliation.* "Who, or what, do you think he is?"

Frowning as she studies their attacker, noting just as her twin does the obvious cybernetic enhancements that are evident, Kaiya nods when Ellie suggests that they regroup with the other nearby Night Jedi. "No idea, Kaiya says as she stands and glances up towards the stairway leading to the second floor, head cocking to the side as she suddenly becomes aware of the fact that the sounds of conflict seem to have tapered off to an ominous silence. A better question, Kaiya muses aloud as she motions for Ellie to follow her at a distance to ensure that they are not vulnerable to a single line of fire, is how they even knew about us at all, or why they'd come looking for a fight." The Night Jedi is a secretive Order, not widely known, and so Kaiya holds little hope of the Masters knowing anything of their enemy; if the Night Jedi had engendered the enmity of a group with the intelligence resources to locate their Enclave, Kaiya assumes they would have been made aware of them before now.
Once they reach the second floor, and find where the pair of Masters Kaiya observed earlier have taken cover, the female Nikto confirms Kaiya's suspicions that the enclave's higher ranked residents are just as in the dark as to the identity and motivation of their attackers. When Kaiya suggests that they should try and capture one of the attackers alive in order to interrogate them, the Nikto readily agrees, informing her that that course of action has already been discussed and agreed upon by the enclave's leadership. When Kaiya asks what she and Ellie can do to help, the Nikto instructs them to hold the current position with her and the aged human male Master to prevent the enemy from escaping . . .

*Ellies eyes scanned up and down the hallway briefly before landing on the barrier that stood between them and their attackers. Something was bothering her, something about their attackers behavior. Leaning closer to her twin, she spoke in a soft voice.* "Vod. Something seems off about this. That was a large frigate that passed over head. Did you notice how few attackers there seems to be? Where did that ship go anyway?"

Rolling her neck from side to side, focusing on her breathing to try and keep her emotions in check now that the lull in action has allowed her concern for her fellow Jedi and stress over what the attack on the Enclave might mean for them all, Kaiya narrows her eyes when Ellie points out that the number of their attackers is far less than the size of an opposing force the frigate they had observed earlier suggests their enemy is capable of mounting.
"You're right, vod, Kaiya says, frowning as she considers what their presently unknown enemy's intentions might be. Either the Enclave isn't their main target, she says slowly, voicing her thoughts aloud, or their plan is to get our attention focused on what is going on inside the Enclave while they send in a second wave from somewhere else to reinforce the forces inside. Gesturing with her lightsaber hilt towards the barrier, Kaiya points out, They could be digging in to keep our attention focused on them, or to try and pin us between them and any reinforcements. Maybe we should try and get eyes outside, to watch for any reinforcements?"

*Ellie gave a nod at her sisters assessment.* "Better safe than sorry. Come one, Lets take a look. The Masters seem to have this place held down pretty well." *She turned and began to head towards the entrance the had just come through.* "I'm not sure who these people are, but they definitely caught us off guard. Do you think your Master has any idea?"

Nodding to Ellie, lifting her left hand to wipe some sweat from her brow, Kaiya then looks towards the Nikto Master to see if there is any objection to her and her twin going to investigate the exterior of the enclave.
After the Nikto gives her assent, Kaiya rises and says to Ellie, "Let's go, turning to head back to the ground floor as she says with a faint hint of worry entering her tone, I haven't felt anything from my Master since the attack began, vod. I'll try and reach out to him through the Force once we're outside and find a position to watch from."
Once on the grounds, Kaiya purses her lips in thought briefly before suggesting, "The ship was heading to the south, so any reinforcements would probably be approaching from the rear of the enclave, through the forest. We should set up there. Come on," and then begins jogging for the rear grounds while opening herself to the Force to see if doing so will alert her to any impending danger, as well as allow her to contact her Master.

*Ellie quickly followed after her twin. She could feel her sisters concern for her master. Ellie had experienced the same thing once before. Once they reached the spot, Ellie climbed up onto a small ledge to get a better view. From where she stood, she could see nothing but trees. Closing her eyes, she let her mind sink into the force. Searching, scanning, for anything.*

*The silence of the forest was broken by a yell, one that was answered by hundreds more. The war chant echoed from the forest until it stopped just short of the tree line. Several seconds of silence followed before a different cry went for. This one was answered by several short responses. The source of the yelling emerged from the forest as one. Warriors in black and silver armor stepped from the shadows. Marching in four groups of one hundred they began to make their way across open ground towards the academy. Each carried some form of assault carbine or heavy rifle. Strapped to their waists were lightsabers, on their left arms they carried energy shields.*
*They were not alone, however. Beside them marched six armored droids with repeating blaster attached to their arms. Their bodies, as dark as night, stood a meter taller then the soldiers they were flanking. Behind them rumbled two lightly armored tanks. Their treads sank into the soft soil as they brought up the rear of the marching force. Leading the force was a warrior clad in black and red armor. He was large, in both height and build. In his right hand he carried a force pike. Raising the pike into the air he signaled for the force to stop. As one they halted, standing in silence like agents of death, ready to swoop in on their next victim. The leader raised gave a sharp order. As one they activated their energy shields and formed a defensive formation. Bringing down his staff, the leader began to rap it off the ground. The men and women behind him began to follow his rhythm. Soon the sound of weaponsand fists drumming off armor, along with the shouts of excitement for battle carried to the temple. Inside the temple, the soldiers who holed up within began to follow their comrades outside in the noise making.*
*With a yell, the leader raised his staff above his head and pointed at the temple. From the back of the formation, they tanks fired. A deafening roar sang out as a ceramic coated round launched from their barrels. Built for penetration, the outer shell of the projectile would penetrate a target then peel away. Inside lay a combination of high explosives and metal shards of shrapnel. The first two of these deadly payloads were targeting windows, just to see what would happen.*

As Ellie climbs the ledge, Kaiya closes her eyes, focusing on trying to locate and forge a telepathic connection with her Master. The relief that she feels when her Master's mind reaches out to her is short-lived, the roar of sound from the forest nearly causing Kaiya to lose her concentration. Opening her eyes, barely managing to maintain the telepathic link between herself and her Master, Kaiya watches as the enemy force is revealed, relaying what she sees in a clipped series of mental images to her Master so that those within the enclave will be aware of the threat outside.
The sound of the artillery fire finally succeeds in making Kaiya lose the telepathic connection to her Master, and she turns to watch the results. Two windows on upper levels of the enclave are shattered, massive explosions shattering the structure. Wincing as she feels the deaths of several Jedi from within the enclave, Kaiya, her mouth dry from the fear she struggles to keep from overwhelming her, says to Ellie, "Come on, vod, we need to find some cover," as she scans the terrain nearby for any strategic points from which she and her twin might be able to defend themselves, or at least hold out against the oncoming enemy force.
Crouching and sprinting towards a slight depression on the grounds that has several large rocky boulders scattered about that will offer some protection, Kaiya clamps her fear and anxiety down; the enclave is home to just over one hundred residents - Masters, Knights, Padawans, and learners - and with many of that number currently occupied with the enemy forces inside the enclave, mounting a defense against the oncoming external force will be difficult at best. From her Master, Kaiya knows that some of the enclave's occupants are currently making their way to the hangar so that they can board their fighters to provide some aerial support. Kaiya has also learned that attempts to contact the forest moon's military forces have been unsuccessful; enemy jamming making traditional means of communication impossible. The enemy forces had to have made their way to the moon's surface, however, and so Kaiya can hope that the forest moon's military defense force is searching for the enemy, and that they might soon arrive to lend their aid.
Kaiya's hope is, unbeknownst to her, not in vain - a trio of LAAT/i's that had been dispatched to search for any sign of the hostile forces that had made it through the orbital engagement detects the explosions from the initial mobile artillery fire on the enclave on their scanners, and adjust their course to approach the enclave at top speed. Each LAAT/i carries a full compliment of crew in addition to 30 infantry troops, troops that begin preparing to disembark as soon as the LAAT/i's can touch down . . .

*Ellie watched as the army marched forward. Their style seemed older in comparison to most, but they seemed prepared for what was to come. That's what concerned Ellie they most, they were prepared to fight Jedi, and she didn't even know who they were. She braced herself as the two tank rounds slammed into the side of the temple. The shock wave that rolled past her was nothing compared to feeling the sharp pain in the force from several Jedi dying. Pulling her gaze away from the advancing force, she followed her sister.* "How are they so prepared for this? We don't even know who they are or what they want." *She crouched down beside her sister and watched the army from there. Hopefully reinforcements were coming. She turned to her sister, feeling her emotions rolling off her through the force.* "It's alright Vod. We'll make it through this. I was in a battle once, remember? You just have to stay focused. One task at a time."
*Her thoughts drifted back to the battle on Felucia. Sure they we're Jedi, but she had been with a larger force on Felucia. One that was well prepared and had the element of surprise. Right now she wished she had her armor, but that was back in her.....* "The gunship! Vod! We still have the gunship in the hangar! Do you think using The Gladiator is worth a shot?"

Kaiya nods repeatedly as Ellie speaks, her eyes wide as she takes in only some of what her twin says to her while her emotions continue to threaten to make her come unhinged; the noise and stress combining with the emotional blow of feeling the deaths of her fellow Jedi in the Force proving almost too much for her to bear. "One task at a time, Kaiya repeats to herself in a mechanical voice, her final nod a more forceful one as she will herself to do as her sister suggests and maintain her focus. Taking a deep breath, her eyes narrowing, Kaiya says in a voice indicative of her having returned to the here and now in more control of herself, We'll have time to think about how they're prepared, and how they knew about the Night Jedi at all later, vod. One thing at a time, remember? The Gladiator could definitely be an asset, so let's get to her."
Turning to look over her shoulder towards the enclave, Kaiya says, "Hangar's on the west side, and we should have time to make it out of their main lines of fire if we move now. As she focuses on the currents of the Force, drawing them to her in preparation of making a Force assisted sprint for the hangar, Kaiya asks her twin, Ready?"

*Ellie took in a deep breath and slowly let it out. She let her body sink into the force, preparing herself to run.* "Ready, vod." *Without another word, she charged out from behind cover. With the force enhancing her speed, she cleared the distance between her hiding place back into the temple. She didn't feel any safer inside the temple. From the sounds and shocks of cannon rounds hitting the sides of the building, to the tidal wave of emotions that seemed to suffocate her. That didn't matter now, none of it mattered, all that she needed to do was reach the hanger.*

*The noise of the war cries rose and fell with each cannon round fired at the temple. Each soldier was prepared for what was to come, their spirits bolstered from each round that desecrated the temple. A loud yell rang out, one that silenced the war cries and replaced them with echoes of command. As one they began to moved forward, ready to deal death. The leader of the group cocked his head to the side. The loud roar of fighter engines caught his attention. Waving his force pike in the air, he shouted more commands. Three of the droids came to a stop and turned their attention towards the direction of the sound. Likewise, the mounted heavy blaster cannons on the tanks turned to face the new threat. Yelling another command, the troops began to run at full speed towards the temple. They were closing in and fast.*

*The Gladiator roared around the side of the temple, coming within view of the hostiles. Ellie brought the gunship on a direct attack run with her targets. Already the enemy tanks had open fire on them. Yelling into her comlink, Ellie called to her sister.* "We're coming in fast, vod. Get ready to fire!"

"'lek, Kaiya tells her twin to confirm her readiness to fire as requested, and then smiles grimly as she mutters to herself, Ib'tuur jatne tuur ash'ad kyr'amur," before taking a deep breath while focusing on the Force to call upon It to lend her the coordination available to those who can tap into It. Closing her eyes briefly, Kaiya releases the breath along with any hesitance or other distracting emotion. Her blue eyes open, and Kaiya calmly, dispassionately brings the destructive power of the ship's rear laser turret to bear down upon the enemy attacking the enclave; raining a relentless, expertly guided rain of merciless death down on the ge'hutuun that have foolishly decided to attack her and hers.
The trio of starfighters that had followed the twin's ship from the hangar elect to ignore the ground forces, concentrating their efforts on the enemy artillery, while the two light freighters also following choose instead to focus their fire on the ground forces. . .

*Ellie let out a whoop of excitement as the low thump of the turret reached the cockpit. She pulled the ship into a hard right, making another swing around the temple in an effort to avoid enemy fire. From what she could tell, the enemy force was already at the temple door. They would suffer loses, but nearly as many as she hopped. Her thoughts wondered to her friends inside the temple. Would they be alright, could they fight such an unknown enemy? Ellie shook the thought from her mind, but she knew she had to do something. She looked down and saw her helmet sitting on the floor beside her. The rest of her armor was just down the hall, but how to get to it?*
*As they came around the side of the temple, she angled the ship into a wider approach before setting on autopilot. The second they leveled out, she sprinted down the hall and grabbed the bag with her armor in it. She could feel small quakes under her feet as assorted sizes of blaster fire hammered of the hull of her ship. Cursing under her breath she ran back to the cockpit and deactivated the autopilot. Grabbing the yoke, she brought the ship out of their line of fire.* "Sorry Vod! Took a few more shots then I expected." *Opening the dufflebag, she pulled out pieces of armor and began to put them on while trying to fly. A difficult task in itself, but one she achieved none the less.* "Vod! I think we're running out of time. They'll be completely inside soon."

*The troops reached the doors and began file in with haste. Shields and blasters at the ready for whatever may come. The sound of explosions from behind drew the leaders attention. His eyes drifted from his troops to the tanks and droids, one of which was a burning heap of scrap metal now. Even under fire the tanks kept firing, their droid counterparts however turned their attention to the incoming enemy air support. He watched as a large gunship roared over head, it's rear turret open fired at the end of the column. Laser rounds landed within the ranks, sowing chaos in the form of of fire, dirt and fallen soldiers. Troops several where cut down quickly in the first assault, more in the next. The rear of the line turned their attention to the ships raising their shields and backing towards the doors, all the while fire back with light and heavy blaster. They may have lost some already, but the column was half way through and picking up speed as the front of the line set up a perimeter. The leader turned his attention back to the temple as he made his way inside. A minor set back such as this would not stop him. This day was his, and his honor was riding on it.*
