"You stay safe as well, Terra." Jade scrutinized the young woman narrowly before escorting her to the door.
Minutes after she left, Jade was still leaning against the doorframe, gazing down the hallway lost in thought.

A few minutes later Jade turned back into her room and began assessing her belongings. Naturally, that was a quick task. She did not have many personal possessions, so packing for a quick trip to Coruscant took hardly any time at all.
When she was finished, she walked over to the window and slipped through it to the balcony outside where she leaned against the railing and watched as the sun set over Corellia.
After it was dark she came back inside, shut the window, picked up her bag and pulled up her hood. Thus shrouded she went out into the hallways of the Jedi Academy and headed for the gates. Instead of taking her own ship, she went down to Coronet City and booked passage on a public passenger vessel heading express to Coruscant.

He'd been home on Corellia for almost three weeks since the mission to Vortex, and only now did Kel'Al Raganella feel like he had some time to himself, to quietly consider his own matters. Making his way to the third floor of the Residential Quarters, he slid his access card into the door of his long-time room, and entered, leaving the door ajar behind him. The Jedi Master could have upgraded to a more spacious accommodation years ago, but he had never seen a need. The room that Master Carter had given him when he first arrived as a student more than fit his personal needs, and if his plans worked out and he was to have a family, he fully intended to rebuild the Raganella homestead. But here, when he was focused on Jedi business, a simple lifestyle was more appropriate.
Passing the fresher on the left, he stood in the center of the small room, lost in quiet thought. He had slept in his old bed for over 2 weeks, but he hadn't really stopped to notice the room. There had been so many questions and so many debriefings and so much intelligence to record. Now, finally, he knew that Lt. Witwer was going to be ok, and than his scheme for merging the Sand Panthers into his plans was going to work. He could afford to stop and catch his figurative and literal breath. It seemed almost odd to be back home for good, after so many long months away, and nights spent sleeping in a starfighter cockpit, or worse still, not sleeping at all. But all his familiar possessions were here: his desk and chair, his bookcase, and the piece of carpet that hung from the wall, concealing his safe.
After a long moment, he stepped over to the desk, keyed the computer terminal, and brought up his com messages. With a groan, he stared at a list of 20 messages, and a label at the bottom that identified it as page 1 of 27. Living a covert life had little unexpected complications like this sometimes, he noted, with a defeated shake of the head. But there was only one person whose messages he truly cared about right now. He hadn't heard from her since before he left for Endor, and as he scanned the listing, his face shifted from hopeful to brooding, and then to a full, worried frown. Her name wasn't there.

Arhiia's heart was beating in her ears as she sprinted through the halls of the Jedi Academy, the heels of her boots clicking off the tiles as she slid around corners, the tabards on her robes trailing in her wake. I was beyond exhausted, everything ached more than it had any right to, and I wanted nothing more than to just curl up in a ball and drift off to sleep. It felt like it had been months since I last slept and I was certain that my face reflected as much too, but none of that seemed to matter any more the moment I touched down on Corellia. It didn't matter that my hair was in a curly white disarray or that my midnight blue robes were a wrinkled mess. I had one priority and one priority only, then and only then would I allow myself to wind down from this high I seemed to be riding since I had escaped Arkania. I still had no idea what had happened on that planet, for some reason I saw fit to lock those memories away in a dark and desolate corner of my mind, but that was not something I was about to question just now.
Slowing to a controlled walk, the former Jedi Master stalked down the hallway with such care, so as to hide any painful remnants of her time on Arkania. None of that mattered right now, none of that mattered like he did in this moment. She had not ever been able to get any comm messages out over the past eight months she spent on Arkania, doing what, she had no idea any further. Predicting that was going to be a sore point in the following conversation, the Arkanian woman just sighed and ran her fingers through her hair as she approached his doorway. Normally she would have reconnected to him through their bond, but she was still wary of her surroundings for some reason and thus remained nearly invisible from the Force.
Finding the door to Kel'Al's quarters ajar, Arhiia just let herself in and figured he wouldn't mind anyways. Tiptoeing through the rooms, she finally found him sitting and brooding at his computer terminal. Walking up behind him, she reached around and placed her hands over his eyes, "Hello sweetie.." She whispered softly in his ear, her voice nearly breaking with barely contained joy as a grin slowly graced her lips. This was long overdue. For so many endless nights, the thought of this moment was all that kept her going and holding on to hope...

Enticed by the idea of a good bottle of brandy and the company of a friend I had been neglecting I manage to find my way to Jade's Quarters. Not to far from my own to be honest however In the almost half century I have spent at this academy I had hardly ever even stepped foot into the quarters assigned to me and often forget which ones are mine to begin with. Thankfully though today I am not looking for mine. Despite the arm sling and rib pain I manage to let my good humor flow out into the force around me as I hit the door chime, letting my usual half-smile spread across my bearded face as a greeting.

After a thorough tour of the major points of the temple, the new students were shown to the living quarters where students who weren't currently working with a more experienced Jedi stayed. Entering the room cautiously, Dak carefully made his way along a row of standardized beds towards the back of the room where a small cluster of more unusual sleeping mats and beds were kept. Selecting one that looked unused, and big enough to support his frame, Dak sat carefully. The bedding held up under his weight, and Dak relaxed a little. Spotting another bed nearby that was even larger than his, perhaps meant for a Herglic or a Chevin, that was messed as if recently slept in, Dak relaxed a little. If either of those two species could fit in here, then maybe it wouldn't be so bad for him.

A few moments later and the automated door slid open with a swoosh, Xeres paused upon the threshold momentarily and then entered the spartan room; for with the exception of the bunks, and refresher the room had little else other than a small table that one could sit and work at, notably a larger table would have to be brought in to accommodate Dak's frame.
Admittedly Xeres hadn't banked on the fact he would be sharing with others, let alone Dak. This was all apparently part and parcel of the wholesome experience of becoming a Jedi and the first lesson was humility, some unlike Xeres had come from more privileged backgrounds and the idea was that everyone was put on a level playing field. However Xeres found the rooms fresh and clean and his new clothes fit with this which for the first week had made him rather uncomfortable, however the one thing he was familiar with was sharing space with countless others, in fact back home conditions had been far more cramped then the room he now occupied.
"I swear Master Reshi-Mar is trying to kill me."
Xeres flung his towel onto his bunk and then followed it to sit down and rest his bruised and battered body.
The first week had flown and now at the start of the second week the newest initiates were beginning to realize that the Zabrak Jedi was something of a task master as much as he was a Jedi Master. The Zabrak was charged with overseeing the Initiates kept in physical shape, and so running, swimming, climbing and unarmed combat practice fell under his jurisdiction and he was well known for pushing his students underlining that keeping in top physical shape helped stimulate body and mind.
Xeres other lessons had been in basic history, politics, economy and the history and lore of the Jedi Order and no Initiate yet had even so much as sniffed the legendary fabled Jedi saber. One eager student had asked about the weapon, but was told; 'all in good time', and that had been that. It seemed therefore that this was basic training, training that would lay the foundations, teach the initiates about the force and provide all with the same knowledge and skills before they even began formal training. Some students would train for a year, others a few months, some being taken under the wing of a Jedi Master, the Majroity however would study the entire two years, by the end of which they would have sufficient skill to oversee small civil duties on Corellia, they would of course be paired with a more senior Knight.
All this thinking made Xeres head hurt and he practiced the meditation exercise he had begun to learn, he breathed in deeply and then as he exhaled he tried to empty his mind of all the clutter, as he did he felt that familiar tingle, a sudden rushing feeling, then it was gone. Master Sekan had said that this was good and it was the start of Xeres journey to becoming one with the Force. Xeres now knew enough about the strange mystical energy field and had seen some frankly miraculous displays of what one could achieve and the initiates were told to practice this exercise as often as they could in their own time, for the more they practiced the longer they would achieve this state. Once they could maintain a connection then they would learn basic applications.
"So, how was your day Dak, I saw you came top in climbing again and you nearly choked Rekan out in combat class."
Xeres grinned at the Yuzzem.
Dak being one of the larger class mates was a extremely difficult opponent in unarmed combat class, Xeres had only been put with him once and had spent the majority of their sparring practically jogging to keep out of reach and avoid Dak altogether, until Dak pulled a fake and ended up arm barring him! Dak's arm bars were becoming quite formidable.
What was it an hour before they played 'Reepha'. Reepha was an initiate game developed for the young Jedi to practice and hone their force awareness. It was a fairly simple game and the rules were simple to, there were more advanced versions, but for now they played a version where a group were blindfolded and had balls with bells in behind them. Now the second group who had no blindfolds had to take the balls without being detected, it was the job of the blindfolded group to try and see if they could 'sense' anything and they were allowed to move their ball if they wished when they felt anything. Of course often as not the balls got stolen which then meant the game went to phase II where the blindfolded group would try and detect who had the ball. It was a simple and quite fun game and Xeres quite enjoyed it, largely because recently his sense skills had grown and he was very deft also at taken balls without detection courtesy of his background.
Xeres rose with a groan and made his way to the refresher.

The first week had been rough on all of them, although Dak thought that he had perhaps had the easiest time of it. Being so much larger than all but one of their classmates, and having been raised on a farm, he had a major physical advantage over most of the other initiates. The only classmate that was a direct physical match for Dak was a young Herglic who was more interested in xenobiology and inter-planetary politics than physical pursuits. Pulling on his right wrist with his left hand, Dak grunted softly when his shoulders popped softly. Still growing into his body, the joints of his arms, and less often, his legs, sometimes ached after a hard workout.
"He seems to know exactly how hard to push everyone."
Dak flexed his neck next, then, noticing Xeres slowing his breathing, was reminded of the mental exercises that they had been taught. Closing his eyes or a moment, he reached out, trying to blank out all his other thoughts. Nothing came to him, although he did manage to relax enough to ease the tension in his joints. Keeping his eyes closed longer than necessary, Dak turned his head towards the other student so that Xeres would know that he had indeed head him, all while hoping for a trace of that elusive feeling. Still, nothing came to him, and Dak opened his eyes, and smiled a wry grin.
"Well, it seems that my size and...unique features..."
Here, Dak spread the fingers of his hands, wiggling the heavy claws that tipped each finger.
"...actually are an advantage now. As for Rekan, well, you aren't supposed to keep swinging after someone pins you."
Dak shook his head softly as Xeres pushed himself to his feet again. He seemed to be a nice a nice enough person, and eager to learn, but in his own mind, Dak wondered if the smaller student had the physical capability to keep up with the more fit of his classmates much longer. But then again, he was very skilled at Reepha, and connecting to the Force seemed to come more easily to Xeres than to most, at least as far as Dak could tell. Dak could stay competitive in Reepha, and dominated in hand-to-hand combat and most other physical classes, and the more scholarly classes didn't pass over his head, but he feared the time would soon come when his classmates would find out his deepest secret. Grabbing a brush, and beginning to get the snarls out of his fur, Dak brooded quietly. Back home, he had lifted an entire hovercar off a trapped child without touching it. There was no doubt that the Force could flow through him, but ever since, he hadn't been able to so much as make a piece of lint twitch. All of Dak's success with climbing, running, and fighting came from both his background on a farm, and his great size. His abilities in Reepha were sense based, but not his Force Senses. Rather, his senses of smell and hearing, which were more acute than human sense had thus far served him well. Continuing to run the brush through his fur, Dak wondered what would happen when it was discovered that his ability to touch the Force seemed to have vanished.

Xeres caught Dak's comment as he reappeared toweling his hair dry and wearing a fresh set of robes and he grinned. Xeres did look forward to Reepha as it seemed for now it was something he was more gifted at, alas he wondered if he would ever be able to match Dak's prowess in the more physical aspects. No, best to rely on his swiftness and dexterity, see that was Rekan's downfall, he just didn't know when to quit and trying to match a Yuzzem punch for punch and pound for pound, well that was stupidity.
Xeres continued to towel his hair until it was dry enough and then too grabbed a comb and started to sift through its tangled knots.
"You looking forward to this physical trial we got tomorrow?"
No doubt Dak would cherish to do well and come top just as Xeres did in Reepha, yet apart from the child's game he seemed to fall a little short in the other aspects and wasn't particularly looking forward to testing his stamina and physical prowess against his class mates, a combination of swimming, climbing, grappling, running. No doubt Dak would come top. Xeres closed his eyes and sat back in the chair at the small table and pondered how he could get to be as strong as Dak. He wondered if there might be something in the archives and decided he would go and look after the trial tomorrow, of course if he had the energy left to do so.

-The curious motley crew of human, kushiban and alien made their way through the corridors of the Temple towards the residential wing. They kept their voices low so that they wouldn't disturb any of the others. She could tell that the Temple had once been glorious, but had likely been destroyed during the Empire's genocide. The once-beautiful polished stone was still beautiful, but it was now reinforced by durasteel brackets and bars where cracks had formed. She was about to inquire about the current state of the Temple, but she bit her tongue. Instead, she looked down at the Kushiban.-
=Hesper Calix= "Tantin, how old are you?" She asked him curiously. She paused for a moment to allow the child to answer.

Tantin was quiet as he followed Vuur'l and Master Calix. His fur had shifted back to the normal white is was when he was relaxed. He adjusted quickly to new surroundings. His paws made slight patter noises as he walked on all fours next to Hesper. He turned his head quickly when he was asked a question. He knew he had to be on his best behavior, and he was dead set on making both his parents and Master Calix proud.
"I'm four. My birthday is actually coming up in a few months, not that it matters."
But he was still an undisciplined child, and he could not help but drop that his birthday was quickly approaching. It was subconscious, but it still happened. Once again Tantin proved just how cute younglings could be.

Dak grunted softly, working his brush through a particularly rough spot in his fur, the looked over at Xeres and shrugged.
"Well, I wouldn't say I'm excited for the trial tomorrow. Looking forward to it, maybe. I might even say I'm feeling a little confident. I'm sure it doesn't matter how fit someone is, Reshi-Mar is going to push them all the way to their limits, and then push them just a little more."
Laughing softly, Dak winked at Xeres. The tone of his voice rose slightly from it's deep rumble, becoming playful.
"I bet you've hid the best, haven't you. Going to actually try tomorrow, and show up everyone, aren't you?"

Finally, the Gand stopped outside a suite of rooms with no name listed outside. Vuur'l keyed open the door and stepped aside to allow Master Calix and Tantin to precede him into the room.
In the main room was a bed, small closet, chair near the window, and refresher unit. An adjoining door led into a slightly smaller room with the same facilities but intended for the padawan. It was spartan, but comfortable in terms of the physical needs of a Jedi.
"Will these rooms be suitable, Master Calix?" the Gand's voice creaked from his inflatable bladder apparatus that it used to iterate Basic.
"Master Jade can be found meditating out doors in the early morning. The Chief Healer on staff is Master Nalatua'lin. Generally the latter resides in the Infirmary or wanders through the Archives and the gardens."

-Hesper Calix nodded her head before placing Tantin on the ground. The room was bare, it reminded her much of her own room on Ilum.-
=Hesper Calix= "Tell your Master that we are thankful for the hospitality. I will look for Master Jade momentarily as soon as my padawan has recovered. I believe that I will take him to be checked by your master healer to ensure that he is in good health."
-She watched Tantin and gestured towards him with her hand.-
=Hesper Calix= "Go on, take a look at your room and let me know what you think."

Recognizing a dismissal in Hesper Calix's words, the Gand bowed appropriately.
"Vuur'l will do this. Vuur'l also hopes Master Calix and Tantin's stay in the Corellian Academy will be beneficial."
And then the Gand turned and left, the door sliding closed behind the knobbly alien as it returned to the lower level in which unassigned padawans were housed (namely where Dak and Xeres were).

Tantin scurried off, opening up the door that connected the two rooms. He looked around, hopping on the bed and bounced a little on it. Retreating from the room he went back to the main room, speaking in a slightly amazed voice.
"It's big. Bigger than my old room on Kushibah."
Tantin moved around Hesper's own room, looking around and sniffing.
"Do I have to see the Healer? I'm not sick, and its been a while since the crash on Felucia."
It was obvious Tantin had an aversion to Doctors, or anything near the profession. He looked down and moved his right paw around on the ground.
"Are you going to see the Healer too?"

Xeres just smiled but inwardly he knew he had already given his all just to keep up with everyone else. There was no secret weapon, unless he could find some means to make him improve between now and tomorrow. No, it was impossible.
Then he nodded in agreement to Dak's observation on Reshi-Mar."You're right there. I think I will need a week of just to recover, though I doubt we'll get it." Xeres knew full well there was no letting up and that he would have to keep struggling to keep up or return.........No, that wasn't even worth considering, what was there now to return to?
He had thought he liked his life, but no, it was just familiarity, that was all, he shook his head as though trying to physically clear it then set down the comb and returned to his bunk where he could hide from the eyes of his room mates.

-Hesper Calix nodded her head towards the tiny Kushiban.-
=Hesper Calix=
"Yes, it's a good idea that you see the healer or the medical facilities. If you are to join the Jedi Order, you need to be kept up-to-date on your immunizations. There is much to see in the galaxy and much to do. A Jedi's first duty is to protect the people, and that job frequently takes us to the furthest reaches of the galaxy. Back on Felucia, I used the Force to help heal your wounds after the crash. The Force is good for healing wounds, but what's better is preventing yourself from becoming sick in the first place."
She knelt down beside him and looked at his face.
=Hesper Calix=
"After that, we will need to find something to eat. I think that it would be a good idea for you to get to know the other Younglings here."
She offered him a small smile. "I know that you're not used to seeing other children, but they will be best able to prepare you for the road ahead. I will promise you this, if you choose to come with me, I will take you."

Tantin took a moment to understand Hesper's words. Everything she said had something to do with something else, and his young mind, while sharp for his age, still could not fully grasp the meaning of much of what adults said.
"So...if I get sick, I can't help other people as well?"
Tantin blinked a few times, letting that realization sink in. He moved on to the subject of other children. He seemed nervous, almost as nervous as he had been about going to a Healer, or Doctor.
"I didn't really have many friends back on Kushibah...My parents always wanted me to study. But I'll try my best."
As if on cue Tantin's stomach growled and he grasped it with his right paw, he looked up innocently to Hesper, his ears drooping, making his eyes look even bigger. His fur dulled to a greyish yellow.
"Do they have fish?"
