*Serena had both parents, and a big brother too. That sounded pretty nice actually, but apparently she had an aunt and uncle who didn't like that Serena's father was a Jedi. Morgan frowned and tilted her head to the side slightly. She didn't know too many types that didn't like Jedi, other than bad guys, but Morgan didn't want to make any implications, especially about someone she just met and wanted to like.
For now, she put it out of her mind, giggling a little when Serena was unable to speak properly at first before starting from the beginning, explaining that her brother, named Marc, was found as a baby and her parents adopted him. That was nice. As far as being the best big brother in the galaxy... well, Morgan still didn't know who was older, her or Jake, so she couldn't quite dispute that. And there was Zemear, Morgan's own self-adopted big brother, but she figured she'd told enough complex family tales already, so she only giggled.
As for what to talk about now, well, Morgan was unsure. The only questions she could think of regarded Haruun Kal itself, and Morgan wasn't sure she wanted to risk dredging up painful, recent memories but... Well, she had to talk about something, and she might as well get this over with quickly.* So... um... Haruun Kal... did you always live there? *She tried to not seem nervous, but a little showed as she mentioned the planet. Serena might ask if something was wrong; Morgan hadn't accounted for that! What would she say! Talking about Mesh in such detail would be too much... Maybe she could just dumb it down a little, give a simple answer. Or maybe she should just focus on that when it came to it, if it came to it, and instead just focus on the current conversation.*

Serena noticed that Morgan became uncomfortable again when she mentioned Haruun Kal, and she couldn't help but wonder what had happened there to make Morgan so nervous. Like earlier though, Serena opted not to pursue the matter, not wanting to stir up any trouble with a prospective new friend. They could maybe talk about that later.
She nodded slowly."Yeah. Dad goes off world every now and then but the rest of us don't leave. Except for now...Dad said I should come here to get better training."Truth be told, her father had been talking about sending Serena to an academy for some time, since he no longer had as much time train her. She had heard of some bad things going on in the galaxy and he had told her that he wanted to make sure she was getting training while he was helping the order. She hadn't been happy to leave home, of course, especially since it took her away from Marc..."I miss home already..."

*So she had lived on Haruun Kal all her life. Morgan wondered how often she went into the jungle... if at all. But Serena seemed a bit sad as she talked about it. Maybe not so much sad as longing? Oh, she missed home, that was it... Morgan had to wonder if she knew anything about the strange creature in the jungle... though to be fair, Felucia had its own history with... unsavory beings, and for now it was probably for the best not to mention it.* Did you ever go into the jungle or anything? I mean, I know it's dangerous, but someone could've gone with you I guess... *Morgan then realized that no one had mentioned the dangerous jungles of Haruun Kal before, or even that it had jungles. Maybe Serena would just figure Morgan had studied about the planet? Ah, who was she kidding, she probably knew by now that Morgan had some sort of unsavory experience. She fought a sigh and just waited for Serena's answer.*

Serena shook her head."Nope. Dad said it was too dangerous to go in there, even with him."She knew that Felucia was a jungle world, but that was all she knew about it. Probably a lot different than Haruun Kal if what her father said was any indication. She kind of wanted to see for herself, as long as it wasn't dangerous like Haruun Kal.

*So she wouldn't have known what it was like in the jungle, at least not from firsthand experience. If she lived there, she at least had to know what it was like, what was out there. Morgan knew... and sometimes wished she hadn't. If it hadn't been for her meeting and bringing Rush back with her, she could with full confidence say that, yes, she wished she had never gone to the planet. But at least she knew about where Serena was from?* Yeah... it is... *She was drawing closer every second, it seemed, to spilling out every detail about Morgan's own visit there. But she didn't want to, not right now. She had to think of something else. Something like...* I could show you Felucia's jungle if you want! *... that. Why did that always end up being her default suggestion whenever she was making a new friend? Well, at least here she supposed it was relevant: Serena had never been to the Haruun Kal jungle and Felucia was a jungle Morgan knew her way around, even if they weren't anything alike. Still, it was one way of getting to know a new girl...*

Serena guessed that Morgan had been to Haruun Kal before, and that would explain the cause of her anxiety. Still, she wasn't going to ask about it now.
Her eyes widened when Morgan suggested that she show Serena the jungle and she immediately wondered if that would be all right. She had just gotten here after all and there was probably so much to set up. But it might also be fun...
She smiled."That sounds like fun! But are you sure we can go?"

*Morgan perked up a little and smiled when Serena said it sounded like fun, but when she asked if Morgan was sure they could go, she had to think about it briefly. She almost immediately said "yes," but she realized that Serena was a new student and may have had some important things to take care of later. Simple solution? They go ask her father if it was alright, then they went.* Let's find my daddy and find out! If he says yes, then we can go! C'mon! *She hopped off the bench and beckoned Serena to follow her, then ran out of the gardens so that they could find her father.*

"OK!"Serena giggled and nodded, then leaped off the bench to follow Morgan. Even if Aerandir didn't approve, maybe they could still go later. In any case, she would find out soon enough!

Faun ran into the gardens, making sure that Serena was following her the whole way, then slowed to a stop in the entrance garden. She smiled; the gardens were one of her favorite places, in any place she went to really, but mostly because the natural vegetation and open air were more refreshing than artificial walls. Knita also felt more comfortable in the gardens, and that made Faun appreciate them a little more as well.
She turned to her new friend Serena and grinned. So should we play here or somewhere else? I promise I won't fly away! She giggled; flying was probably prohibited in tag matches against grounded sentients, not that she thought she could get airborne fast enough after tagging Serena.

Serena giggled as they entered the gardens, a perfect place to run around and play. She grinned at Faun."We can play here."She considered playing tag, noting that she would probably have to run a little slower so Faun could keep up. Serena was used to being able to run faster than most kids her age, and it was sometimes disappointing when she wasn't able to go all out. She had to put that aside for now, though. Wouldn't be good if she drove away a new friend by being overly competitive, right?
She sighed happily."So...wanna play tag?"

If playing here was fine with Serena, it was fine with Faun. She grinned, highly anticipating the game when a thought suddenly came to her. Are there any rules? There had to be rules! Without rules, a game of tag would just become disorderly fast! And if there were rules that Faun didn't know about, she didn't want to break them either by accident...

Serena thought for a moment. Tag wasn't a game that had to be heavily regulated so it wasn't as if there would be a ton of rules to follow. The only two she could think of were rather obvious."Um...well no flying...and no climbing trees..."Serena was a decent climber, which probably wouldn't be much use against Faun anyway, but it would probably be best if they both stayed on the ground. It sounded fair to her anyway.

Those were the only rules? Seemed fairly basic, but then, tag was a pretty basic game. Faun shrugged and smiled, about to say she was ready to start, then she stopped and looked at her wings. They... made her a much bigger target. To Faun, that didn't really seem fair. She didn't want to seem selfish, but the idea of someone being able to tag her wings while she would have to actually tag the person... well, it just wasn't fair! Um... c-could you please tag me and not my wings? Since they're kinda big and... um... it doesn't seem fair... She hopefully wasn't being offensive or unfair in just asking, but at the same time she really didn't like someone having that big an advantage, especially when she wasn't allowed to use them. Now, if she was allowed to fly, then it would be a different story, but she wasn't, so...

Serena considered Faun's request, and she did notice that those wings did present quite a target. It would probably be pretty easy to tag her wings, come to think of it and that would be a bit of a handicap. But how to go about making it fair...
She nodded after a minute."OK. It doesn't count as a tag if I touch your wings."That was fair, right? And with that out of the way, the last thing to do would be to decide who started as "it". Either her or Faun...
She giggled loudly and suddenly tagged Faun's shoulder."You're it!"With that, Serena turned and bolted away, though she didn't run as fast as she was capable of. She wanted to see how fast Faun could run.

Faun waited in deep anticipation for Serena's answer, then looked relieved when she agreed that touching her wings wouldn't count. That would make it a fair game. Oh, one thing Faun should probably point as well that her wings were also a little sensitive, and shouldn't be grabbed or any of her feathers pulled, since that would hurt. Oh, and— ... no time, as she'd been tagged already and Serena took off. Faun stood blankly for a moment, then gave chase. And don't grab my wings! Please! In truth, Faun wasn't a very fast runner at all, and now she was starting to think tag wasn't the best choice because of that. Well, maybe she could still try to catch Serena in creative ways? She wasn't sure, but she could try...

Serena skidded to a halt when Faun called out to her, asking her not to grab her wings, and she called back."OK I won't!"She stumbled a bit as she started to run again, noting that Faun didn't seem to be a fast runner. If the gap between them proved to be too much, maybe she might have to allow Faun some special privileges in order to level the playing field. Serena liked to win games, but she also liked it to be a challenge. Winning too easily was no fun...

Oh good, Serena was acknowledging her request not to grab her wings. Even if this game didn't go well at all, their friendship sure was, and Faun liked it a lot. As far as catching Serena... well, this seemed to be... not too easy, but easier than originally anticipated. Was Serena intentionally being slower? Faun... wasn't sure if she liked that or not. She could have been being nice and fair... or was teasing how slow she was.
Whatever the reason, Faun tried to put on an extra bout of speed, but only stumbled and fell. Quickly pushing herself back up and brushing herself off, she again gave chase, looking around at their surroundings. She knew the gardens well enough to know that there was a shortcut through the hedge if Serena turned a certain path... she did! Faun darted to the side, hoping to cut Serena off. Just enough oomph... You're it! Immediately Faun disappeared back through the shortcut and around the way Serena had gone earlier. If she couldn't outrun Serena, she'd have to outmaneuver her. If that worked, well, then that was a success; Faun wasn't a fast runner, and probably wouldn't be until she was older, but maneuvering worked too.

Serena squealed as Faun appeared seemingly out of nowhere and tagged her, immediately disappearing back from where she had come. It seemed that the S'kytri had found some kind of shortcut or something! Turning around, Serena darted after Faun, not bothering to hold back on her running this time. She went as fast she could and quickly caught up to Faun. Reaching out, Serena tried to tag the younger girl on her shoulder, doing her best to avoid tagging her wings like they had agreed. However, she overextended and lost her balance, falling forwards and tumbling to the ground. She quickly leaped back to her feet and brushed herself off."I'm OK...I think..."She quickly checked herself for any injuries but found none."Yeah, I'm fine!"

Faun didn't bother to look behind her, it would just slow her down. But she could hear with her ears that Serena was getting closer; a disadvantage to being a slow runner for sure. But then she heard Serena tumbling to the ground, and Faun, who'd tried to push herself to keep away from Serena, skidded to a stop and gasped as she spun around to check on Serena.
She seemed fine, just getting up and dusting herself off, checking herself over to see if she was injured before confirming that she was okay. Faun sighed in relief; she didn't want Serena to get hurt, nor really did she want anyone to get hurt, but then it occurred to her: The game was still on! Gasping again, Faun turned and sped away as fast as she could. She had to prolong her lead as long as possible! But there were no shortcuts nearby. If she could hold off long enough, she could try to use one... if she got lucky, that was.

It didn't take Serena long to resume the chase, but Faun had gotten a bit of a head start. That was fine, as now she could run at full speed to try and catch her. Running as fast as she could, she had soon caught up and there was no stumbling and falling this time when she reached out and tagged Faun on her shoulder."You're it!!"Giggling, Serena skidded to a halt and turned around to run the other way, a bit winded from running full speed. She ran a little slower this time, hoping to get her second wind.
