Tantin paused mid-step, his ears perking up as he listened to light footsteps ahead of him. He looked ahead, seeing no one. He could smell Hesper, but he still could not see her. Was she still hiding herself from sight? What was she hiding from? Surely she had a good reason, but Tantin's curiosity only made him take a few more steps before he stopped again, smelling the air. Hesper was close, very close. All the Kushiban could do when he was picked up was squirm a bit, Hesper being many times stronger than the little Kushiban. His eyes grew wide as he was able to see himself disappear. He was about to let out a cry for help when Hesper spoke to him. He immediately bit his tongue, quieting himself.
"But I wanted to be close to you! No where could be safer. You've already saved me once, and if there's a Sith on this planet, the safest place to be would be next to you...."

Panno lifted an eye at that. She just found it on a random data file? He knew that ancient relics floated around out there, being passed around from person to person. Ancient maps leading to treasure planets, swords used by the Tythonites. He had even come across Lord Hoths skull once. This though was dangerous, secrets, even century old secrets could prove fatal. Well it's more a coincidence that I am here. The Mandos are out there hunting us Motioning with both hands to everywhere down. So I figured the best way to stop it was to ask the force for help. And here I am.
Compared to her story it was pretty lame. He didn't dwell on it though, rather he picked up a leather bound book which had collected at least 5 years dust on it. One of the older hard copies here he dropped the book onto a table smiling with the resounding thud. As the dust settled he cracked it open and began the arbors task.

Jud's head snapped in the direction of the call and small presence within the Force. His predatory instincts taking hold, overriding the fact that it had been the voice of a child, yet as soon as Jud's baleful eye looked behind him. He saw nothing but the empty corridor. The Sith's eye lingered, darting around as if trying to pinpoint exactly where the sound had come from. His hands had called his saber hilts to them, there etched hilts smoothing his paranoia, and quelling his sinister urges...
"An echo..." He finally extrapolated, lying to himself before turning his attention back to the door in front of him. With a raising of his hand the door op0ened even so slightly and slowly, allowing the Sith to nimbly slink into the chambers beyond. After a minute or two... Jud had continued towards the section which supposedly housed the remnants of what he was after, only to come upon two Force sensitives (Panno, Celia) already scouring the area. Jud darted down a parallel isle and cursed to himself silently, as he listened in...Jud grit his teeth. There were others, he'd taken too long and knowledge that would be his alone was now in jeopardy of being used by lessors. Jud's brow knit with thought. He had no time. He had no more time. He looked over his shoulder again, and judged the distance. He'd have to make this quick, very quick.

-Hesper Calix raised the Kushiban up to her chest level, and held him as if he was a babe. She could sense the fear in him. This wasn't the place for him- the darkened archives of a temple on another world with a Darksider lingering nearby.-
'Everything happens for a reason,it is the way of the Force, but sometimes you have a little say.' She thought to herself as she began to walk backwards slowly.
Tantin would hear some words being whispered into his mind.
<<We shouldn't be in this place, Little One. It's time for us to go.>>

Tantin mentally frowned. He knew that Master Hesper was trying to protect him, but he could not help but feel she was treating him like a child. He knew he was, but it did not help that she was holding him like a defenseless baby. No child liked to be continually treated like a child. It was just part of growing up. Still, he trusted her and her judgment. She was only looking out for him.
Tatin's ears drooped, and he looked up to where her invisible face was. He was unsure if she could see him, but his eyes were wide with the innocence of someone his age. Like a child he trusted a grown up, especially Hesper. She had saved him once.
"Wh-where are we going to go? What about me finding a master? If a Jedi Temple is not safe from the Sith, what place is?"

-For now, she said nothing. She touched his lips with her fingers to silence him. Suddenly, she exploded forward with a burst from the Force. He would feel himself moving as if he was in a speeder. She leapt up and flipped herself high into stone outcroppings of the ceiling with Tantin. Now, they were high above the corridor leading to the archives. Hesper placed Tantin down so that he could see.-
-Slowly, she pulled her finger away from his mouth.-
"Watch... It will move quickly then stop. Be mindful of the shadow. Your next lesson, know when to fight and when not to fight. Do you know when to fight?"
She paused, but sensed that the youngster would likely have difficulty with the concept.
"A Jedi draws their blade only to protect another. They will never attack an unarmed opponent with a blade or ambush another from behind. The shadow hasn't done anything to harm us, yet."

Tantin closed his eyes to keep the rapidly moving air out of them. When he opened them, they were somewhere else, higher up. He looked around, before Hesper set him down. He moved his paws around on the floor nervously.
"F-fight? I....don't think I would be a very good fighter. I'm not very big....Compared to you and other aliens."
Tantin bit his tongue as soon as the word alien slipped it. He bowed his head, his eyes going to the wall beside him.
"I didn't mean alien offensively....but most of you are so big...and I'm really small....I don't think I'd be a very good fighter, up against other species."

Hesper seemed to smile at him, but shushed him.
"Your size doesn't matter. The Jedi Order had had a long history of powerful Jedi who are short in stature. A Jedi's only weapon is the Force. A Jedi's only defense is the Force. In time, you will learn how to use it."
She reached out and pointed to where Jud's shadow was lingering.
"Now, do you see the shadow? Watch it carefully."

Tantin listened to Hesper's words. He had not heard of any other small stature Jedi except the story of Jedi Master Ikrit. Those were by word of mouth. Technology did not have a place on Kushibah, so he had never been able to read up on famous small Jedi. Maybe he should learn how to use a computer, and learn more about the group his mother and father held in such high regard.
Tantin followed the direction of Hesper's finger and saw the shift in the light. It was hard to see, harder to focus on. It was like he knew it was there, but he did not want know it was there, as if something was affecting his senses. He nodded slowly, and watched the shadow moving through the hall.
"What are we going to do then, if not fight? Just watch and let a Sith roam freely? What if he hurts someone?"

Sighing Panno looked up and pinched his nose before shutting the fourth book. You know I had planned on exploring the outside world inthe present, not dusty words from the past. It had been a long time, so long that whenever he looked up everything was slightly blurred; as if he was cross eyed. Since being here he had heard some muffled words of Jedi, but largely ignored it. After all he was to busy learning about some poor farmers during the Clone Wars and how Kenobi had been here. More than 150 years ago! Please tell me you've got something. Anything.
It wasn't that he wanted to find something, he just wanted outside. After experiencing the real light these artificial ones were driving him mad. Not waiting for an answer he brought the books back to where he found them and instead grabbed some audio logs. Changing the frequency of his comm he put it in his ear and listened with his eyes closed.

It takes a while to sort through the early records. Unlike the ones from later years, when the base was fully established and records were kept meticulously, the old ones are filed haphazardly, with no consistent labeling system. Presumably, nobody in the years since has ever needed to consult them, and they've consequently never been organized. I collect an armful of old data modules and make my way to the terminal at the end of the row of shelves.Staying on task is difficult: the old records contain all kinds of interesting information about the local flora, fauna, and weather patterns, and some of the Jedi involved in the project actually kept diaries that provide a fascinating glimpse into the state of the galaxy back then. I make a mental note to come back and lose myself in these records when I have more time, and force myself to focus on the task at hand. Please tell me you've got something. Anything. "Nothing yet," I say, chewing my lip thoughtfully. "There's a lot of stuff here, but it's really--hold on a moment..." I stop as something in the data from a probe droid's scanner catches my eye. "Hey, come look at this," I say, pointing to a small spot on the digitally generated map that is lighter than the area around it. "This shows energy usage in the area. Anything that's using power," I tap the screen to zoom out the map, showing the larger light patch at the location of the Jedi outpost, "shows up like this." I zoom back in. "There's something here. It's subtle, and I wouldn't have noticed it, except I was just looking at this:" I switch to a satellite image of the same area. There doesn't appear to be anything different about the spot where the droid detected energy. "Nothing, at least nothing that you can see from this distance, but we know something there is using energy. Or was. It doesn't show up in later energy readings, but that doesn't necessarily mean much. We have to keep in mind, this lab is very, very old. Whatever machinery it contains has probably broken down by now. "Anyway," I continue, "it's not much, but it's a place to start. And even if it turns out to be nothing, it's right next to a place they call the Ancient Abyss, so at least we'll be in for some interesting sightseeing. I say we go check it out."

Standing up from the seat he paused the talking voice. Although this was older than the first stuff he looked at it was still to new. Talking about the construction of the Jedi base he had listened to every problem faced by the group. Attacks from rancors, Felucians even a few pirates; all the way down to the the shortage of screws when constructing the hallways that led to the outer courtyard. The only thing that kept him listening was the vigor in the mans voice, he believed that what he was building would mean something. That and it helped him understand the base layout. Standing up he looked at the layout on the terminal, the topography There was such a thing as having a lead and there was following breadcrumbs. THIS was on a whole other level of searching. Its not much, for all we know it could be nothing. A broken down machine left there from some explorer. He didnt even bother mentioning the ancient city that was there inside the sarclac. However you are right. It doesnt hurt to check, not like it is going anywhere if this isnt the right thing.

-Hesper watched Tantin and attempted to reassuringly stroke his head. She didn't like this inaction, but it was against the Jedi code to attack an unarmed opponent, or one whose intentions were unknown.-
"Little One, we don't know what this one wants yet. A Jedi doesn't attack first an ask questions later. You cannot take back a lost life or a maimed limb. Raise your sword and strike when you know who your opponent is. It is foolish to rush in and attack him, simply because he is hiding."

Tantin's ears went down when Hesper's hand touched his head. He closed his eyes, clearing his mind, and let the motion of her hand on his head help him in that. He opened them and stared at the shadow stalking the hall, moving slowly but as if with a purpose. He blinked a few times, and with a realization he spoke.
"So, we're trying to find out what he wants, and if possible intervene once his purpose for coming here is shown?"
Tantin pawed the stone beneath him again, like a feline, nervous about the inaction, but trusting Hesper's wisdom.
"But shouldn't we tell someone? If someone runs into him by accident, he could strike out to keep them from telling others. At least then he might be spooked into leaving, if he finds out they know he's here."

"I'm afraid I can't permit that..." Answered a soft voice from within the shadows. "Such knowledge isn't meant for you." The voice continued, as a darkly cloaked figure seemed to apparate from the darkness.
Jud had no choice but to show himself, and be done with these two meddlers. If they knew of the possible location there would certainly be others. Though it was obvious that the darkly cloaked figure wasn't a Jedi. Jud continued to mask his Force signature, daring not alert the entire base to his trespassing. He had to do this swiftly, concisely, and then be out of this place and onto the next leg of his quest.
"I do apologize...but there is no other option." Jud managed, before both of his sabers jumped to his hands, igniting the dim archives with amber orange light. No sooner had Jud ignited his blades that he was on the two Jedi. His left saber jabbing towards the lizard (Panno), and his right straight at the female (Celia).

Instinct takes over and I leap backward, seizing the lightsaber from my belt and bringing it up in a single, fluid motion. The purple blade blazes to life in front of me. "And who are you?" I say guardedly, watching the cloaked figure for even the slightest movement in my direction. Two on one is decent odds, but I hope to avoid a fight.

=Tantin= "So, we're trying to find out what he wants, and if possible intervene once his purpose for coming here is shown?"
"Very good, Little One. We will intervene, but only of his intentions are hostile. Come, we will move closer."
She whispered to him as she scooped up the Kushiban. She lifted him up into her arms and held him close. She flipped and leapt silently from pillar to pillar towards the archives. She paused at the last one before the door and waited. Hesper moved swiftly and silently, slipping passed the Darksider (Jud).
"But shouldn't we tell someone? If someone runs into him by accident, he could strike out to keep them from telling others. At least then he might be spooked into leaving, if he finds out they know he's here."
"Shh.. The force will teach you that there's a time for silence. Now is one of those times." She said calmly.
Hesper carried an aura of calmness around her that couldn't be rattled by anything.

Tantin held on to Hesper, trying to keep an eye on the cloacked Sith. He heard something, the whir of lightsabers. He only knew the sound because of another Jedi that had come to his hometown. He had always thought they were beautiful, but also knew they were dangerous. Tantin tried to remained silent as Hesper had instructed him to, and pawed her shoulder to get her attention. He coould not help but whisper as quietly as he could, hoping not to be overheard by anyone else.
"He's attacking someone. Those two people we passed earlier...What do we do now?"
Tantin looked to Hesper for guidance, as any child would a grown up. But there was something more. He was beginning to trust her as a master. Not that he hadn't before.

As he dark figure emerged from the shadows almost appearing as a shadow himself. He did not have much time to react but there was enough, raising his fists so that his hands would cross and make and "X". Rather than blocking the blade they touched tips, the metal of the armour being made of purified Cortosis it was a good chance the lightsaber would momentarily short circuit. Not looking to see if the Jedi he was with was okay he figured the best way to stall was to talk. Tell me why do I have no right. The old sith started the Galactic Empire, my empire is its successor. Using his right hand he waved it in a circle Out of the three of us I have the ONLY right to obtain this... thing.
Reaching out with the tendrils of his mind, Panno found the man well empty. It was as if he was not there. That or he was hiding himself from the force. Not like it mattered to the two here, it was obvious the way he attacked he was no Jedi.

The attacks were simultaneous. Jud's left saber shattered on the lizard's gauntlets and his right had been parried by the woman. Both immediately started to mouth questions, but Jud ignored them. They weren't worth answering, and They'd be dead soon enough.
Jud let out a huff of irritation, recalling his left saber within his robes as the lizard started to speak. With a curt open-palmed strike, the Old Sith laid into the Lizard's midsection. The Force push should be hard enough to ram the lizard back into the shelves behind him. With the lizard taken care of - for the moment - Jud turned his attention on the woman. His right saber blinked out of existence, passing through the Jedi's guarding saber, and reignited. It was a simple TrĂ kata move, but one that always came in handy. Jud wondered why the practice of TrĂ kata had been lost, as he batted the Jedi's saber away from her body, and thrust his blade's tip towards her heart.
The jab was also simple, and in this case; deadly effective. As soon as the Jedi's heart was punctured, ruptured and boiled within her ribcage. Jud would turn his remaining attention to the lizard, then to his quest.
