How about this? The fight erupts and Spectre jumps in because..... wellllll that's just what he does. In the middle of the skirmish we say Ade gets shot and goes into a coma. Leaving us to carrying on. As for Leeza, I don't know. I guess we just stick her in a corner? I'm just at a loss on that part. Well, thumbs up to Spectre jumping in just because he's...Spectre, but I'm not so sure about shooting Adrien. Plus, if I understand Firreroan physiology correctly, he's likely to easily survive a blaster shot depending on the gravity of the injury. I think Fenrir's idea is better. Let Adrien disappear, and he discreetly contacts us to get things done, while he's...indisposed? Like maybe there's something preventing him from joining us personally? And yeah, Leeza made it rather obvious she'd leave if slaves are brought on board, so I figure we won't have to stick a silent figure to stand like a statue around the ship. Plus, it'll allow the writer to be able to pick her way back up if or when she returns.  |

Hey guys,
I know it's little comfort, since I'm not Scott (actually, personality-wise I think I'm pretty far from Scott...) but take this for whatever you will:
I've been here since 2007, in one form or another. I've been through deaths, life changes both good and bad, responsibility added to responsibility, and I'm still here every day. I'm 37 years young, and I don't think this sort of thing ever truly leaves the blood. It becomes part of who you are.
Scott has left before. He'll be back. I'm sure of it. Might be awhile, but that guy is what this site is all about.
The Draykon crew will live on. This SITE will live on. As long as there are writers eager to tell stories, we'll be here.
Now... It seems you have an opening in your crew, assuming someone steps up to fill the vacant captaincy. I have plenty of under-used PC's....

Well, assuming no one has any objections, I was going to have Leon step up to the role of Captain (thoughts? opinions? objections?) So, the most prefered idea here for Leeza, is to NPC her resigning as pilot and leaving the crew. Any objections? As for Adrien, there will be a bar fight, in which we have two options so far: 1. he is seperated from the crew, and forced to take a more, leader from the shadows, type role (so that if/when Ade returns, he can join back up) 2. he gets shot and put into a coma. However, much like Fenrir, his physiology as a Firrerroan means it's slightly less plausible. I'm more inclined towards idea 1, since it means we don't have to carry around a comatose person, and it opens us to having a way to link jobs and such, without having us decide to randomly travel to another planet, and coincidentally be in the right place at the right time. It would be nice to have one of your PC's aboard the crew Galdaart. Perhaps we should figure out what roles we need filled, as it stands, I'm not really sure of what everyone is planning to do, but here is a rough understanding so far: - Captain: Leon Asikari [NPC] (?)
- Pilot: Kiri (?)
- Enforcer: Fenrir Asikari
- Enforcer: Spectre (?)
I'm not really sure what roles Erly and Dice will be filling in the crew, but judging by some lists I've seen, we have the following "generic" roles to be filled: - Doctor:
- Mechanic:
- Slicer/Hacker:
- Enforcer:
- Technical Engineer:
A couple of these roles could probably be covered by a single person (like a mechanic/doctor, or a technical engineer/slicer/hacker, or an Enforcer/Doctor; as some examples). Feel free to add new roles that you think we might benefit from, if your skill set is based towards something not mentioned yet. This way we can see what vacancies we need filling, and don't forget, we're always looking for passangers to make credits off of. |

Well, Here's what I know about myself.
I'm no doctor, and I'm not much for writing a mech. Mainly because I'm not that great at coming up with medical / SW mechanical jargon. It just doesn't interest me that much, and I feel like, to be effective at those sorts of characters, you've got to make it sound convincing. Of the two, I think I could make one of my PC's into a medic of sorts (more on that later.)
Here's a run-down on the PC's I have. Feel free to check their bios.
--Krayton Jantsk. (was in Ade / Scott's 'Perses Project' SL, but at the core, he's a Dust Diver. Check Wookieepedia if you've never heard of it. I hadn't either, but I think the profession makes for limitless stories and trouble to get into.)
--Jorek Malestrom. (written as a co-pilot / wingman to a specific story: a Jedi / ace pilot crack team that fought trouble on a 'commando squad' level, based on Corellia, called the 'Sand Panthers.' It never really took off, due to writers leaving etc., but for a while, had some really great writers attached -- Serrin Roma, Ke'Al Raganella, etc.) Jorek is interesting because he's a closet Spice addict, which could again cause all sorts of trouble for you. He's the one I could bend a little to make into a battlefield medic of sorts.
--Cal Witwer. (hardcore pilot, another PC written for the Sand Panthers. Cool cat, but he's a straight up Pilot, nothing else. Might not be the best fit, 'specially if you've already got a pilot.)
--Nux. She's... well... read the bio.
--Tir Kaarn. Not the right fit. He'd just kill you all and move on.
--Casten Lorsa. (A Jedi I created to try the 'normal' JvS path of padawan / knight in an actual temple, which I found incredibly boring. Haven't used him much. Could be maybe a passenger?)
--The Preacher. (a PC that didn't make the move from 1.5 to the new site, but I've always wanted to get him into a group. Never found the right fit on 1.5 because... well... the Jedi are too straight laced and rigid for his style of Force Wizardry. Imagine a powerful Force user who never had any formal training, and grew up on a frontier world acting as judge, jury and executioner with his own warped moral code. I suppose would be considered a 'grey' Jedi. The profile doesn't exist on this site, but I can recreate him if he sounds like the way you all want to go. Definitely a passenger to start off.)
I'm happy to lend any of these folks (and a few good story-lines) to the Draykon crew for as long as you'd have me.
Just so I know: who is everyone, and what are your histories on JvS and in RPG in general? By way of comparison, the only name in the group I actually recognize is Spectre, and only peripherally, as I don't think we've ever actually written together, I've just seen you around. But I know the way this site works... some of you may have been here with another name for years. I've been RP'ing on tabletop and in the virtual world since 1989 (D&D, Rifts, Shadowrun, Heroes Unltd., Pathfinder, and of course, JvS.)
So who are you fine folks?

Krayton, Jorek, and The Preacher seem the most interesting one's to me, well The Preacher more so than the others, since the Warg can't use the force, and are more affected by attacks through it. Obivously a closet spice addict's version of battlefield medic aid would also be interesting to see, "here, take these herb's, they'll numb the pain...".
As to who I am, you might better know me as say... Zion... or Rebecca/Drach.

I was originally planning on Dice just being a passenger. (IRL I have worked as a CNA, MA, Phlebotomist, So I could fill Dice in as a medic/in between doctor? I know lots of medical Jargon.) Dice is amnesiac, but does know some medicine, and she's a good shot.
I played on 2.0 as Dice, but before that I played Vampire RP's (Not twilight, more along the lines of 'Lestat')_I stopped RPing mostly when I was a senior in high school (my house burned down. Then I got married, then I was put in the hospital by my husband when I was 4 months pregnant, then I was going through a nasty divorce...And then I needed help, so it took me a while to get back to rping in the JvS verse. I'm just starting college, I work two part time jobs, and I have a lovely 2 year old son.)

Hell, I know Fenrir might have had his heart set on bringing his NPC on as the replacement Captain but in light of GF showing up I have to back him. Seeing as he IS the only logical replacement for a Smuggler Captain. Being one himself. Well, my heart isn't really set on bringing in my NPC as the replacement Captain, just gives me a good segue into introducing Leon to the crew. As for backing Galdaart as Captain, that might be a problem Spectre: Oh, I'm not looking to be Cap'n. Those are shoes I already wear for the Unfair Advantage. |

Looks like everyone's calling dibs on roles I might have a use in. But then I can honestly say I have next to no truly useful skills at the moment. My past involvement is that of an analyst, and now, cut off from CorSec of my own accord, I have no smuggler skills or really good on-board abilities. I have basic field medicine, basic survival skills, basic weapons handling. Basic everything, really.
What I can excel at is slicing/hacking, and maybe engineering and mechanics, if I turn my attentions to one field or another. Biology and that sort of thing. I don't see myself excelling in battles, however, so I'll just practice jumping behind Spectre for cover, or just plain sticking close to him for protection.
As for who I am. I'm just...Erly. I have written a little bit in the old JvS website, though if it's all right, I prefer to remain anonymous on that. If you knew me from there, you might recognize my styles, I don't think I've changed very much. But my preference to stay anonymous is that Erly's like a new start for me, a new start in everything from my past.
I'll just say I've had a rough few years, taken grief from both IRL and online, and eventually had enough of it and moved away...then I came back to JvS because there's really no leaving JvS (unless you do something monumentally stupid and get yourself sitebanned, which I have managed to avoid so far) and I decided to make a complete fresh new start. Though to be perfectly honest, I've never really participated very deeply into anything here before. Joining Adrien's crew was my first attempt to do so, really.
As for RPGs in general, been at it since 2000, and enjoying the run so far. It's a good way to escape reality, and become the kind of people I'd hope to be in real life. I'd like to make a difference in a positive way, and maybe mean something to people, and not be regarded as a nuisance to be swatted away just because I'm unorthodox or like to think outside the box. I don't know, I'm a little prone to rambling like a loon, so excuse me.

Nice to meet you all. Early, Dice, I'm sorry to hear that life has dealt you both some rough hands of late. Hopefully clear skies ahead for you both.
I'm leaning toward Preacher or Jorek, but we're still waiting to hear from a couple folks, aren't we? I don't want to firm up plans till everyone has cast a vote.
And Spectre, yeah--Fenrir is right. Though I'm happy to steer us for awhile with stories, I'm not going to be your Cap. That's for someone else.
Question is, who? Fenrir, I feel like, if your PC Warg is going to lead this crew, and if we're going to interact with other members of the site, you might want to try to get the Warg approved by the PGC, or there'll be cries of GM'ing.
What do you think?

Let me amend the statement then. Leading the RP in the absence of Ade. As for the Warg, I don't have an issue with it. And I'm pretty sure Fenrir brought it up to the PGC. Unless he didn't and I missed that memo. As a matter of fact, wasn't Ade still a High Councilor at the time Fenrir joined?

Since the fight is on "my" planet, I could just put him in jail, and send Mr Bateman to set up a new deal with the new cap, or force the old deal on him.

Ade's NPC was the one starting the trouble in the cantina he wonderfully dubbed "the Weary Traveler". Spectre was just going in there for a rescue operation. Which may only happen to collect everyone back into one place back on the ship. Which is what I believe to be the plan so we can get this together. If you want to "force" the same terms on the new Captain then by all means.

Provided it's no imposition, I am sure we could do with a medic, even if she is a little amnesiac  Looks like everyone's calling dibs on roles I might have a use in. That said, if there is another role you'd prefer to take, then feel free to speak up. I can't say I remember what you were going to do with the crew originally, otherwise I'd suggest just going with that plan. Maybe Erly could be the captain... or the Co-captain... or the Crew Chief... any of those could be interesting... Uhm... nope. Haven't brought it to the PGC yet, mostly cause I still haven't fully fleshed everything out, especially not to the extent the current form requires. I was kind of using Fenrir to RP with, to see how things would shape up and adjust the Warg as things went. And Ade had stepped down as a HC a while before I first joined his crew. I could also be of service, still, you know. Since the fight is on "my" planet, I could just put him in jail, and send Mr Bateman to set up a new deal with the new cap, or force the old deal on him. Ade being in jail would definitely prove to be quite a barrier to his return to the ship... But yeah, like Erly, no overly keen on it. That aside, I'm with Spectre on still going through with the original deal. |
