I could have a couple NPC on Mary's profile (one that start out as 'regular' jedi or support staff before they eventually join up with her, or just as fill in characters to help pick up some weight).

I am down for consolidating ourselves in one place or another. Bring everyone together, build ties with each other. A place to welcome all new Jedi to the order. And once we are large enough branch out to our other Temples.
I am also down to train a padwan or two. (Currently on Corellia)

The question is where do we consolidate?

well Coruscant seems to be the more prefered option from an IC view (since there seems to be a good half dozen reasons IC why we shouldn't centralize elsewhere). However, from an OOC standpoint, we need to come to an agreement and take appropriate action IC. That or Yavin IV could work as well

There are various compelling arguments to be given for either Coruscant, Corellia, or Yavin IV. In light of the fickle behavior of the Republic, I'm leaning towards Yavin IV (or even Corellia) instead of Coruscant.
Also, by consolidation, we mean the major Jedi writers need to have an actively written character at that location. Correct? Because at this specific moment in time, there are some Jedi characters who have some compelling reasons to remain where they are currently stationed, though I suppose in time that could change.

I can make a compelling case for Felucia: Our enemies will leave us alone because that jungle is scary.
(don't tell her I said that)
While I'm not opposed to the idea of consolidation, I gotta say, the proposal looks pretty identical to past proposals, which have gone nowhere. I suppose now though the base is smaller enough that it might work a little better this time. I must admit I do fall under that category of characters who have compelling reasons to remain where I'm stationed, but I do have a character stationed on Coruscant that's... pretty unused. I could relocated him or keep him there depending on where we decide to consolidate, if anywhere.
I also feel I haven't been doing enough IC and admit I've kinda been drifting more toward doing personal RPs. If this is a problem I'll gladly relinquish my IC Councilor position to open the door for someone who could actually use it well.

I don't want to base the Jedi on Yavin. It's just too soon. I prefer Coruscant due to canon historical location. Plus, we just had new threads added. The Republic can pull away all they want, we can still do what we want and need to do from Coruscant. It's a big planet.

Coruscant makes sense from a Canon historical standpoint but not so much from a JvS historical standpoint, since to be fair it has rarely had a super strong jedi presence. Although I do agree that Yavin is a bad idea. I'm wondering if it would make sense to go to a completely new location, or build some wonderful deep space station all for ourselves.. just food for thought.

Let's just build a boat on Mon Calamari and we'll hold our base there.

a space station or academy ship, i like that
Mixing IC and OOC really leaves me out in the cold.
Yavin has had a bad situation happen there, and while i appreciate the team that has come together, but until things settle down, i don't believe it is a place jedi should be en masse at the same time, With the mere fact that both Coruscant and corellia holding similar distance to Kuat as DC to Richmond, makes me want to stay out of the core.
all that to do, I like Mike's plan (or maybe that is just the tech geek in me)

To be clear, that's not necessarily my plan, just something to think on, I still would personally prefer an already established jedi world.

If you want to talk strategy, it makes no sense to abandon your base that is close to enemy lines which would provide a better vantage point for keeping an eye on the Empire based on Kuat, than fleeing to an outer rim world.
The Empire will not want to risk open war with the Republic and the Jedi. While the Jedi and the Republic might not see eye to eye, they are united in their opposition to Sinistra and the Empire. Leaving Coruscant or Corellia for something further out sends a message that there are weaknesses in the Jedi's position with the Republic which can be exploited. The Jedi are the defenders of peace and justice in the Republic, whether the Republic acknowledges it or not.

Sin has a very valid point. Coruscant does look like the option with the most sense, even though I really don't like it. Jade hates Coruscant (and will eventually return to Corellia, at least for a time as she dislikes cities and needs outdoor terrain). Alexis wouldn't go there after fighting so hard to get to Yavin. Not at this point anyway. However, I already have an active presence on Coruscant, and I'll always have an active presence or three there.
Long way of saying: if the consolidation means an active character, then yes. Coruscant.
Frankly, given that I'm a Jedi writer and most of my PCs are Jedi, I really don't want them all on one world. It's why I created multiple chars (among other reasons).
Anyway, gotta go run some errands, I'll be back later.
P.S. In terms of Felucia, no. None of you have enough money to ever make me write there. >.<

Oh c'mon, the jungle isn't that scary.
(I wasn't actually serious suggesting it as a consolidation point anyway, it's fairly out of the way. Not quite as far out of the way as Belkadan and at least it's on a trade route but still.)

I know you're not. It was an attempt at humor.
Look, beating around the bush isn't going to solve any problems, it's only going to drag them out. I know what you (and some others) have a problem with, a couple of goofy RPs with one other person (and related chat jokes) have somehow become the perception of the entire planet. If the world was half as active as it used to be, you'd see that that's clearly not the case, but because the activity level is lower, suddenly there's apparently some "reputation" just because of something RP'd there. What's worse is that I already had decided to scale back on the "questionable content" before this "issue" was apparently starting to spread.
I don't plan and never had planned to offend anyone. I didn't think anyone actually reads what I write; I still get surprised when someone tells me they do. I never intended on a couple of silly scenarios reflecting on all of my work; I find that to be judgmental, honestly. Like mentioned above, I plan on keeping the content in question to a minimum. Have planned on it. But in the future, if there's a problem, I'd prefer to be addressed directly instead of cryptically avoided. If it's because of my PGC HC label, stop that, I'm a person first and foremost.

Now that we have tangented off a bit... it looks like no one particularly like's Coruscant.... but it's the only place no one specifically REFUSED to go to... so that might be our best option...
