You know I love you right Will? Well please remember that when I say this... I think you are wrong. I think these councils might actually be really really good for us as an organization and might actually help us bolster out membership and help everyone feel involved.

I dont think so. I think dividing up and conquering only worked when we have the numbers to do so, that has just been proven through out the entire year of 2013. . . .

Its not division we are talking about, just organization, but numbers can be a fair argument against it. That's why I said we should only implement it if we have enough interest.

How do you not see that? How can I be the only one that wants to stay the course? Dividing up in different Councils right now, will only spread us thing again. How is that illogical? I didn't say we could never do it, just not right now. We organize, get our ducks in the same pond, take stock, train our young ones, strengthen our collaboration among the site, and then diversify our structure. I don't think diversifying the current structure is what is best for the Order at current, and even you said it "it's not super important" right now.
I am agreeing with you, and emphasizing that we need to remain vigilant on the task at hand. We have been at the current plan for what, less then a week or 2? Let's give this an honest go, before moving on to what I see as step 2.

These are professional concerns and insights built on very simple criteria: this is what was called for. And it does not reflect, in any way my personal feelings towards any author nor my uncooperation with anything that comes to fruition.
And different branches is literally a division. Division of powers and responsibility etc. . . .
and now I am down the rabbit trail I was trying to prevent us from getting on.

Will I think you may be over thinking this a little bit, this isn't a new idea or a replacement or a separation, just an idea we are tossing around to extend what we are already doing, establishing leadership.

Well, I think it's clear that we need a way to have more collaboration/interaction between Jedi on a regular basis. Whether it's through councils or wars or meetings...there are plenty of excellent Jedi writers but, I feel, at the moment, we have divided ourselves up into planets/academies/whatever and though we are a united umbrella Order, we are still separate ...well... not separate but as writers, sometimes I feel we are apart. Perhaps consolidation and structure will help bring us closer together? Or just cause more arguments. But, at least we'll be interacting within the Order.

I don't think I am thinking about it too much, I think I am simply trying to keep things simple for the time being. That's all I am trying to do. I don't even count myself among the excellent jedi writers, what I have been is steadfast, stalwart and consistent. I agree with Dev, there is far too much seperation for a unified Order. That's all I am getting at.

You can talk all you want Dev, we are just a pair of old friends disagreeing on a subject, while it might look like an argument it really isn't. We are both just attempting to force the other to do what we want, you know normal Corellian stuff. That being said however it is obvious we are on opposite ends of this issue an going back and forth will do us no good so I suppose we should stop our friendly discussion and allow others to weigh in now that what we think is clearly displayed.

Yep, sober Corellians are the worst.
I just think a unified structure might be good for the Jedi. If we know who to go to, we have a better idea of the hierarchy of the Order. Not that one Jedi is above or better than another. But there should be some kind of leadership structure implemented...as long as the numbers and interest is there.

I am just advocating for the current plan, that you helped put in place, it's simple numbers that we don't have.
And if anyone ever wondered what the Council talked about behind closed doors, it looks like this. And differing opinions is healthy for growth and strong compromises. I don't when Mike got so mature with his collaborations, but it is what is needed for such an uneasy time for our group and I applaud him for it; we have been at this since. . .well close to the dawn of JvS. Now recent events have forced us both to step up on a level we haven't needed to before, and this is what we see.

What will said, and in response to dev's three posts I agree this is a fabulous idea, but only I we have enough true interest to proceed, otherwise a half assed attempt isn't worth it.

I think my computer likes the odd triple post
Well, I don't mind differing viewpoints. It's just weird seeing Jedi not agree all the time. Grey Jedi and Jedi, sure. But Jedi and Jedi?

You forget two key things there 1) we are Corellian Jedi an 2) we are normal people behind these screens. But you can always rest assured no matter how heated an argument looks between us we are treating each other respectfully in our heads and not actually being angry at each other.
