Slowly but surely Vlad. I am working with Nyra and am about to put in the call to my allies. Once they arrive a member of a house will contact you guys. I would nominate said house to be a member of House Malvern. It would tie in rather nicely and I am sure the Countess would be very upset that her home planet is now under the rule of a tyrannical dictator.

So... it's been a couple months since I did this, but hows things everyone? what are people up to?
The last time I dropped in, there was some good ideas gaining support about the Jedi's reorganization as far as the high council was concerned, and how we could have a nice over all SL which could bring up some cool smaller SLs for people who wanted to focus only on the next mission.
If i remember, the idea was that each academy would basically "watch" over certain sectors of space (kinda like sector rangers or some such), every now and again the Head Master's would meet (in an OOC fashion) to discuss what needed to be dealt with, then from there, smaller missions would be handed down to people who were writing in those area's. So, what's everyones thoughts? some positive discussion would be greatly appreciated, we need some good ideas, since it seems the Republic wants to demonize us...

well, I was thinking perhaps we could throw some lots, or go all D&D and toss some die and add multipliers and such. That or we look at where the academies are located and divide the area's based on that.
The only issue doing it based on location is the fact Corellia and Coruscant are in the Core Worlds and Yavin, Felucia, and Honoghr are in the Outer Rim (East), so things probably wont even out that way... unless we just fortify both those sectors of space >.>

Fun fact: Corellia technically has/had 3 Headmasters Serrin, Mikey, and Will (surprise!). Yes Serrin often took the blunt of the minutia and day to day posting. You honor her well by covering in her stead. It also makes the IC sense for me to be running the council meeting there because of that (Mikey is never good at formalities). . . this fact is a big reason why I keep asking to help. :-P
Don't feel as if Corellia is struggling or shouldn't be considered to help. Largely because of you, it would seem that Corellia is the one of the strongest bastion of IC activity that the Jedi currently have and I applaud your efforts thus far.
And the whole 'covering sectors' bit is the precise reason why the Watchmen Corps was created to begin with. Until Adi transformed it into the Order's first responders-- we could try and do that again? It entirely depends on what we are trying to cover as part of our sector 'protectorate.' Are we trying to cover Republic worlds? Rebuild healthy RPing on known Jedi worlds? What is the goal with that angle. I can tell you (yes I will continue to be the nay sayer, or devil's advocate) that trying to RP for RP's sake doesn't often inspire. We as a body of writers have to accept the fact that this site is actually too large for our literary talents to traverse.
I think we should do buddy systems!!!! Elementary school style! Everyone pick a partner they have never worked with and sit by them! Yes?

Ideally it would be a mix of rebuilding healthy RP on known Jedi worlds and covering Republic worlds should they request Jedi assistance. Ideally once we work out how to roughly divy up planets between the academies, we can see what people are in those area's already and suggest some idea's to them, and look at moving some people around to help lighten other people's loads. At the moment, a fair chunk of it will be moving people between Coruscant and Corellia since they seem to have the most Jedi, but hopefully we can entice some people to visit Yavin and Felucia.
Obviously we can't cover everything, but we can try our darndest to keep a hold of what we already have. As is, there is already a somewhat anti-jedi feeling to some of the Republic Senate, and to date, we haven't exactly been preceeded by a great deal of confidence affirming Jedi. In the past 12 months we've had people randomly dropping out of RP's like no tomorrow, and some people who have displayed grossly arrogant attitudes that just ruin it for the rest of us and for any newbies.
I think we can all agree deep down that we know the Jedi will never all write together in the one place, there is just too many conflicting personalities and some people just like where they are too much. And we could argue till the cows come home about whether we need to centralise or that we aren't going to make any progress as Jedi if we just have the academies acting as "sector" bases, but hey, nothing 100% pleases everyone, and as I've said many times before, this idea has pathways for those who like sticking around academies, and stuff for people who want to go out adventuring. If nothing else, I think we should at least give it a trial run.

Mmmmmm I don't think he ever was. We had Dunta out front for a long time. Then Serrin transitioned, then the triumvirate. Don't think Kel was ever Headmaster. . .a master of the council for sure (all masters at the academy, in theory, advised, train and teach).

Ooooooh. So, Kel'al, yourself, and myself. I guess the 'headmaster' designation has fallen out of use? If Sabo and Raganella don't post soon...I think I'll just close the meeting? Or we can all ignore it and go on with our lives?

If you want I can RP a narrative where it simply winds to a close and if they really wanted, they can seek us out.
I wouldn't say the Headmaster system has fallen, it just would seem you have acting Heasmaster while the boys have been out play. Which would add to your frustration with me. ;-)

At the moment I am not specifically frustrated with you. Novel feeling, in'it? Don't get used to it. Heh! Anyway, posting this here because I'm not sure the Jedi keep an eye on the Corellia OOC thread: I'm working doubles today and tomorrow. Thought I'd get some actual posts in today, but it turns out I am wrong. Gotta eat lunch and get back to work, sadly. Will be posting again on Sunday. (Might have the energy to look in tomorrow evening, but I am not counting on it. Haven't been sleeping well this week so I'll probably be a zombie by then.) |
