Before Lord Valinor departed and while he and his departure team were finalizing launch preparations, Zuka made his way to one of the communication consoles. After keying in a few sequences Zuka was securely patched to Senator Ramoon. Senator Poole, my guests are departing momentarily... welcome them. Senator Poole replies softly, Welcome mat has been laid out, we are a go. Zuka ends the transmission and opens another one to Lord Valinor, Lord Valinor, you may start your landing.. Senator Poole utilized his resources in the military to have a section of the sensors used by the Tarisian Flight Control to enter a diagnostic state. This would allow Lord Valinor and his men to land on Taris without being detected on sensors. Most of all, not traceable to the massive star destroyer. After ending the transmission Zuka is informed that the coordinates for the trade negotiations has been received and attendees are already gathering. Before leaving the bridge Zuka turns back to Commander Remus..."Commander, you have the bridge.". The commander salutes and takes a seat in the command chair recently installed on the bridge. Zuka begins the trek to the nearest hangar bay.

After spending majority of the week working on the surface with the Tarisian Senate Admiral Tarkin returns to the Infernums Fury to oversee the military operations that were authorized earlier in the week. Admiral Tarkin and Lord Valinor would soon begin the next phase of their plan. From his command chair, Zuka opens a channel to Lord Valinor on the surface. Lord Valinor, with your help Taris' government is now under our control. I leave the purging of the lower cities and under cities to you. Not that you need my authorization, but your forces are authorized to eliminate the poor, sick, and elderly. Gang members, including allied gangs are to be executed on sight. The Tarisian government will be quarantining the lower levels and cutting power to all lifts that would allow civilians and criminals to escape. It appears the communication logs indicate that you have already contacted the Supreme Commander... I appreciate your faith in my abilities, but in the future I would like to be apart of critical communiqués to the Supreme Commander. I ask this only because there were details you did not know about. Like the fact that Taris is not a member world of the First Order... not yet, at least. That will take further political maneuvering. Nonetheless, what is next?

As Zuka's shuttle breaks through Taris' atmosphere the ancient Hammerhead Class Cruiser Equinox arrives in a flash of light from hyperspace to meet the shuttle in orbit. With expert maneuvering the shuttle flawlessly glides into the hangar with the cruiser moves to adjust its course to reenter hyperspace for Muunilist.

With the eventual victory on Jabiim, resulting in massive casualties to both sides of the conflict, Sith Lord and High Admiral Viox Savage had relocated his fleet to Taris in a pre-emptive measure, according to the intel recovered from the rebel insurgents on Jabiim. While largely insignificant to him personally, the once grand ecumenopolis was now the site of a First Order occupation. Strategically, Taris was a key world that divided up Imperial Space and Alliance space. Holding Taris was the key to keeping Alliance supply lines in disarray...
The High Admiral's Fleet, Void Command, hung in orbit above the ecumenopolis world of Taris. Holding a standard blockade formation, the High Admiral's flagship, the Nebula-Class Star Destroyer, Legacy Of The Void was at the center. The three Immobilizer 418 Cruisers were holding flanking positions around the most commonly used hyperspace exit vectors, prepared to engage interdiction fields to snag unwary travelers as well as Alliance craft. The four Victory-II Class Star Destroyers were stationed several hundred kilometers aft of the 418's to provide fire support as well as fighter support. And the four Marauder-Class Corvettes were busy patrolling the space between the hyperspace exit vectors and the Void. All hands were on alert, prepared to jump into action, should the need arise. So far, things had been quiet...but Grand Admiral Bennette, currently stationed on the Void had gut feeling that it wasn't going to remain that way for long...

The Underworld Fleet, lead by Admiral Douglass, dropped forth from hyperspace just beyond the reach of the most aft interdictor cruiser's field. The MC90 Star Cruiser known as The Acheron lead the charge, with the MC80B Star Cruisers -The Elysium and The Asphodel - flanking it on either side. The MC140 Scythe-class main battle cruisers were arrayed above and below the Elysium and Asphodel. The fleet had its shields up and all ships were diverting power to their weapons systems as they started to acquire their targets "Deploy all wings, and target the closest vessels! That immobiliser looks far too intact for my liking!" With the fleet having prepared both pre jump and en-route, the starfighters had all been run through their preflight checks and had been awaiting the go command. With it given, the array of X-wings, Twintails, Y-wings, and K-wings launched from their capital ships and started forming into their respective wings and squadrons as they remained close to the fleet at first

The command deck of the Defiance flashed as the blue lights of hyperspace penetrated the forward viewscreens. It was a soothing, almost hypnotic display, the blue tunnel of stars and speed. Those who were able gazed outward, finding peace and calm before the storm. The Bothan captain Nek Bwau'tau paced near the back of the bridge, circling the holographic tactical display. He stroked his chin fur absentmindedly until he noticed Alaric's approach. The Jedi smiled, "When does the fun begin?" The captain and officers saluted quickly before turning back to their displays. Nek motioned to the fleet arrangement "20 minute until deceleration. We'll form up with the main fleet and take a position above and slightly behind the Acheron." "They'll take the brunt of the fire and we can rush in to provide anti-fighter support or engage support ships." Said Alaric, concurring with the plan. "We'll launch our fighters and hold them in reserve to intercept their bombers." Nek's personal communicator began blinking, reaching down he removed the device from his belt and put it near his ear. "This is the captain." We've got the shuttles fueled and the landing team assembled in the hangar. We're ready to launch, just give us the word. Roblio's voice rumbled over the comm channel. "I'd better get down to the fire control center. Best of luck Captain." Said Alaric. The bothan and the jedi shook hands before Alaric walked to the turbolift to the gunnery stations. Nek changed frequency on his comm unit, :General Quarters All Hands Prepare for Battle Stations. This is not a drill. All pilots to your fighters.:
The turbolift descended to the lower deck just as Captain Nek's commands were broadcasted across the ship. As the turbolift doors opened, the fire control center was already awash with activity. Gunners jogging to their stations and technicians making last minute adjustments to power allocation. Alaric stepped out and felt a twinge of excitement, he could feel the emotions of those around him, the fear, the anger, the hope, the righteous sense that they were fighting a necessary battle. Alaric's role at the center of the Defiance's offensive capabilities was to soothe the gunnery crew with his presence. He also manned the dorsal turbolaser turret control. His jedi reflexes made for impressive firing patterns and anticipation of enemy ship movements. "Alright, its hunting season ladies and gentlemen, lets cleanse the system of their filth." The men and women, the crew of the original ill fated mission to Malachor V had had to come to grips with awakening in the 'future' and they now shared a bond stronger than any other. They were lost souls, but they had one another, they had their ship and they had a mission, a seemingly eternal mission to end the Sith. In many ways, nothing had changed.
The Defiance emerged from Hyperspace several moments after Admiral Douglass's ships. The Hammerhead class cruiser was several miles above the command ship and was positioned over the ship's engine bank. With practiced efficiency the crew raised the shields, broight weapons online and connected to the allied comm/data stream to take advantage of targeting data in order to coordinate their attacks or defense. The ship's complement of 12 Aurek fighters launched and hovered around the Defiance.

Teutates Command, personal fleet of the Supreme Commander of the First Order and led by Fleet Admiral Maximus Arcavius, dropped out of hyperspace upon the right flank of Void Command. Led by the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer, Teutates, the fleet comprised of a pair of Victory II-class Star Destroyers, Virtus and Honos, a pair of Vindicator-class Heavy Cruisers, Polemos and Deimos, four Raider-class Corvettes and six Ardent-class Fast Frigates. Upon the bridge of the Teutates, Maximus gazes out at the approaching Rebel Alliance fleet, making a slight scoffing sound at the size of the forces sent.
I daresay they are getting more and more desperate with our advances. Hail Void Command, Ensign!
The Ensign turns, activating a fleet channel between the two compositions.
Void Command, this is Fleet Admiral Maximus Arcavius of the Imperial First Fleet. The Supreme Commander sent us to shore up the defenses of Taris upon learning what had been discovered at Jabiim. Seems we arrived right on time to join the party. We will hold on the right, unless you have suggestions.

Sitting on the bridge of the Void, Grand Admiral Bennette watched as both the enemy fleet and the Supreme Commander's fleet exited hyperspace. She smirked. The Void's XO, Commodore King, reported in.
"Grand Admiral. Enemy ships are live and preparing to attack."
Bennette nodded as the comms officer puts Fleet Admiral Arcavius' transmission through. She motioned for the officer at the comms blister to transmit her reply.
"Glad you could join us, Fleet Admiral. Spread out in standard attack formation and engage the enemy at will. Our goal here is to draw them in and have them fully commit to us, then engage the interdiction fields and keep them trapped here. Under no circumstances are they to make it planetside. Stand firm and hold the line. Good hunting First Fleet."
Once she had replied to Arcavius, she turned to King and issued orders.
"Have the Victory II's move up and engage the enemy fleet. Marauders to support and act as anti-starfighter screens. Deploy all fighter squadrons. Move the Void into position behind the main offensive and have all our stations stand ready to catch the stragglers that break through."
King nodded. As he began issuing the orders, the Victory II's moved up ahead of the 418's and powered up their shields and weapons and prepared to engage the enemy.

A small ship pulled out of hyperspace just outside the planet's atmosphere and activated its stealth mechanism immediately in order to not be detected by the First Order.
"Stealth mode activated." Kano said. "And on top of that the First Order won't be able to detect us as of yet."
"That's good news, Kano." Drez said. "It won't be like Voldanin then."
He remembered that gruesome battle during the Clone Wars. The battle that really tested his squad's nerves and skills. He turned to the rest of Frostbite Squad. "Get ready now. I don't want anyone to be left out of the fun."
"Well you left Jade back at the medical facility with those clones." Izmar chimed in.
"For a good reason." Nyke, the final soldier, replied.
The ship slowly descended through the fog towards the surface of Taris.

Admiral Dougless turned to the holo display as it pinged, alerting him to the arrival of The Defiance. As the Hammerhead class Cruiser moved into position, He was glad for the reinforcement. Though, their forces were still quite meagre compared to the forces of the First Order. Their situation was soon made more depressing as a new First Order fleet jumped into the system. If they weren't out-gunned and out-shipped before, they definitely were now "Sir, more forces have arrived. This isn't looking good..." "Hold fast lieutenant! Begin firing on that Immobiliser, order the Elysium and Asphodel to target the Victory II's! Liberator and Rescuer are to coordinate with Elysium, Saviour and Salvation with Asphodel. The quicker we take out the closest Victories, the sooner we can deal with the next pair once they get in range! All Wings are to engage. Send the Fighters after their TIEs, and have the bombers begin their runs on the Marauders first. Send River Squadron V & VI to run the Immobiliser. Hit them hard boys! If we go down, we take as many of them with us as we can!" Following several Aye's and other confirmations, the orders were relayed throughout the fleet. The Acheron fired its stern Turbolaser and Ion Cannons towards the Immobilizer, followed by a pair of Proton Torpedoes. Elysium, Liberator and Rescuer targeted the furthest of the closest Victory II's and fired their own mix of stern Heavy and Regular Turbolasers, Ion Cannons, and Torpedoes towards it. Asphodel, Saviour, and Salvation meanwhile targeted the closest of the Victory II's and unleashed their own barrage. Meanwhile, the starfighters moved free of their capital ships to engage the enemy starfighters, while the bombers aimed for the Marauders. That was, with the exception of the Y-wing and K-wings from the Acheron, which made for the Immobiliser

As the hologram of a commanding officer from the Acheron dissipated Captain Bwau'tu turned away from the holoprojector. The battle had begun or so he had been informed. The Alliance's main battle fleet was apparently on its own against superior numbers. Fist clenched behind his back, the Bothan strode quickly to his command chair. His bridge crew had nerves of steel, they had been through hell and back together and they would not balk or cower at simply being outnumbered. Nek Bwau'tu had commanded republic battle fleets that had halted the Sith before and this new iteration held no surprises for him, or so he thought.
"Sir, the Acheron's bomber squadrons are about the launch." Said one of the crew over the Bothan's headset.
Nek connected to the Hangar comms and barked orders. "Launch Kath Hound squadron, they'll be following bomber support protocol."
The hangar bay exploded into action. Pilots who had been lounging by their fighters snapped to attention and climbed short ladders to their cockpits. One of the pilots was dressed not in a standard flight suit, but in a jedi tunic, a lightsaber glinting from his belt. Jedi Sentinel Jason Grey spryly entered his fighter and pulled the canopy closed. It took seconds for him to get his vessel off the durasteel hull and out into space, followed by the other 11 starfighters. "Nek, this is Jason. What's the mission?"
"The odds are against us. Fleet command has determined that eliminating their gravity well generators will be an important objective. You're to escort the Acheron's complement of bombers on their bombing run against the Interdictor cruisers."
Jason nodded solemnly, flicking a button on his console he brought up a map of friends and foes on his heads up display. The ship's computer identified the Acheron's bombers and Jason gunned the engines. His flight formed up around the K-wings Y-wings, creating a shield in front of them to intercept and provide cover against enemy fighters. "Alright boys, you know the drill. Angle deflector shields and protect the bombers. What do we say?"
Just one run! Cheered the other pilots over his headset. As the starfighters headed towards the enemy lines, Jason saw the forward section of the Defiance light up with green turbolaser fire.
The fire control center rumbled rhythmically as the forward turbolaser batteries began their firing pattern. Alaric gripped the targeting yoke and felt the raw power of the destructive energy he commanded. There was a sense of calm and certainty on the firing deck, the sound of the firing pattern was soothing and Alaric fed upon it. Relinquishing control to his other gunners, Alaric closed his eyes and breathed deeply and slowly, focusing on the thoughts and emotions of the crew around him. Extending his consciousness like a blanket across the room, Alaric touched the crew's minds and coordinated their movements and attention. They became one perfect unit, greatly increasing the effectiveness of the Defiance's primary offensive systems.
Alaric directed the gun's fire towards the closest Victory II Class Star Destroyer's underside. The relatively long-range shots would only be a mild nuisance, however that was not their purpose. The concentrated, repeated firing pattern was to strafe the underside of the ship and have the large turbolaser bolts destroy the star destroyer's fighter complement as they launched from their hangar bay.

And so, the battle for Taris had truly begun. Despite being out numbered, the Alliance ships pressed the offensive. But it wouldn't be enough.
Grand Admiral Bennette stood on the bridge of the Void, the Nebula-Class Star Destroyer that was the flagship to the High Admiral's fleet. Still holding position behind the initial line of ships, it was still not engaged in the fight.
"All fighters, launch! Protect the Immobilizers. Vic II's move up to support. Marauders, begin anti-starfighter screening."
As the fleet moved to carry out their new orders, the first of the fighters rolled across the closest Immobilizer. Turrets spun in their sockets, laser fire lanced out at the fighters and bombers. Shields flared, but held out against the initial wave. The Victory II-Star Destoyer nearest the first Immobilizer launched its fighter compliment and began firing salvos of Ion and Turbolaser fire in alternating sequences. The rest of the fleet prepared for the rest of the Alliance ships to engage. As the Alliance fleet fired upon their targets, the Imperial ships returned fire in favor. Targeting those that were targeting them. Lances of laser fire, ion fire and torpedoes were exchanged between the group. So far, all damage reports were minor, but this was just the beginning. The longer this battle dragged on, the more damage that would be accumulated by both fleets.

Fleet Admiral Arcavius situates himself upon the bridge of the Teutates, bringing up the main holoprojector of a tactic battle map of the unfolding battlefield. The first shots, of the Battle of Taris, came from the Rebel Alliance side surprisingly. Arcavius could see they wanted an offensive off the bat before a cohesive defensive line could be formed. Pressing their advantage showed their boldness, but would certainly be their downfall. Once the fleet was arranged in its standard battle formation, he began issuing commands.
Fighter squadrons, deploy! Bombers remain in reserve! Diamond-head formations along the lead ships!
A cluster of small dots, each with a Squadron ID, popped up along the Teutates Command's formation. However, a wing remained with each of the remaining formations; Left, Right and Reserve. The lead ships were a pair of Vindicator-class Heavy Cruisers, escorted by four Raider-class Corvettes, which would run anti-starfighter screening. The second and third 'wolf packs' formed around the pair of Victory IIs, which were augmented by two Ardent-class Fast Frigates each. Within the center of this formation rested the flagship, protected by the remaining two Ardents.
Polemos and Deimos, fire at will! Aim for the nearest vessel and draw them in. Fighters, prepare for contact with enemy space wings!
The captains of the two Vindicators acknowledged their orders and began to fire their light turbolasers upon the closest warship, a MC140 Scythe-class main battle cruiser, which rested within their range. As the battle began to unfold, the Fleet Admiral issued further orders to his command.
Left flank, contain holding position! Prevent flanking maneuvers and assist center formation when possible. Right flank, keep the gap closed between us and Void Command. Open fire on any ships that close in on our shared defensive line. I want those turbolasers burning those shields away, captains!

Several flights were brought down as the turrets on the enemy ships wound up and fired. The bombers took the most loses, with the fighters using their agility to their advantage to dodge much of the turbo laser fire. The crews of the capital ships braced themselves as the Imperial ships peppered their shields with fire. What Mon Calamari ships lacked in guns, they made up for with shield power. Reports rolled in from across the fleet, the heaviest losses being the bombers "Maintain targets! Get those bombers on a second run. We have to engage the enemies attention!" "Sir, the second Imperial Fleet has engaged our forces" "Divert what ever extra power you can to the shields!" "Aye sir!" "Relaying orders now!" The orders were relayed across the fleet, causing another barrage of Ion and Turbolaser fire to streak across the void. Power was diverted from nonessential systems to the shields to help them better weather the storm. The bombers make a second run, with the y-wings dropping proton bombs, while a majority of the k-wings dropped specially modified ion bombs designed for space use. Whilst the rear k-wings in each run dropped seismic charges. The x-wings remained engaged with their imperial counterparts. Meanwhile, a half dozen troop transports launched from The Acheron, headed for the surface of Taris, hoping to use the fleet battle to sneak past to the surface

Hyperspace signatures were detected upon sensors as Battlegroup Pertinax exited from its journey from Mon Calamari. Upon the bridge of the flagship, a Nebula-class Star Destroyer, Rear-Admiral Gorgano began to assess the situation upon a holo-map. They were heavily outgunned, only the skill of the commanders and their crews could surely win the day. Or at least blunt the Imperials enough. Already, two Imperial fleets of enormous size were bearing down upon the Rebel Alliance fleet, commanded by Admiral Dougless. Where he was position, the battlegroup could reinforce the left flank of their attack and aim for Void Command.
With that in mind, the Fondorian began his opening moves.
Get the fighter wings to launch! Form up in a shieldwall formation! All ships, form around the Pertinax!
Two Scythe-class Main Battlecruisers led the way of the diamond head formation as they streak forth, aiming to support the beleaguered Alliance fleet. On either side were the rest of the ships evenly distributed. Once the formation was underway, the main guns aimed to strike at the closest ship and blunt the offensive. If anything, they could relieve some pressure upon the Defiance's fleet.

Admiral Douglass could scarce remember when exactly it had all gone south. Maybe it had been long before they had arrived. Perhaps it had been the moment that the second Imperial fleet had arrived. Or it might have even been the moment their ground side strike force had failed to show up. Maybe it was all of those things in combination. Regardless of the cause, the battle had become a blur of turbolaser and ion cannon fire, intermingled with the explosion of missiles. He had pushed them on, hoping that reinforcements would arrive, or that they might catch a break.
But neither had happened. Even with Gorgano's fleet arriving when it had, the Alliance just did not have the numbers and force to pushg the First Order out. the MC140's had been scuttled and the Elysium and Asphodel were almost on their last legs, by the time Douglass called the retreat. The Acheron lead the Elysium and Asphodel to the edge of the system. Putting as much distance as they could between themselves and the defending fleets. Douglass took one look back at Taris, as the hyperdrives wound up.
Repair crews were already putting out fires and patching as much as they could. The one good thing to come from this, was that they had managed to at least evacuate a large number of refugees that had been trapped in the lower city. As the hyperdrives finished their warm up process, Douglass turned to look at the far side of the Taris system, just as a larger fleet of First Order ships jumped into the system. At the lead, was a Sovereign-class Super Star Destroyer "Force save us all... JUMP! JUMP NOW!" The three remaining capital ships of the Underworld Fleet disappeared into hyperspace. While Taris had been a loss, they had gathered valuable intel on the First Order

Ever since the massive Galactic Alliance attack in the waning months of the Third Galactic Civil War, a heavy presence of the First Order military had been established on and off the planet. Patrols were regular, curfew was enforced in the Underworld and new regiments were brought in after the peace was established. But, in recent weeks, more and more military traffic was coming to the planet and not from it. The governor assured the people of this heightened military presence, but whispers were still said nonetheless. The reasons remained truly unknown, but it was obvious that something was being planned and the focus was certainly Taris.

= Prior to the Battle of Dac =
In the space over Taris, an immense fleet gathered overhead. As weeks went by, it was beginning the staging grounds for some immense operation. Already, half of the intended numbers had arrived over the planet. Twenty Star Destroyers were counted so far; five of which were Resurgents, another five were Pellaeons, and the remainder were Imperial II-class Star Destroyers with a great number of support vessels. It was soon joined by the designated flagship of this growing fleet. As it exited hyperspace and came to join the ships in orbit, many went to the viewports to gaze at the Assertor-class Star Dreadnought known as Ad Gloriam. With its presence, all became aware that the Emperor was on his way to finally joined them. There was great anticipation among the crews, pilots, and soldiers who were very much ready to serve their Emperor and under his command. Senior officers were made known of his approach as the fleet was reaching its designated size.
Upon his arrival, Nicademus personally inspected the newly forged Ad Gloriam before taking many days to inspect the rest of his vessels. His visible presence meant to encourage his soldiers and personally meet with their superiors. Unlike others before, Nicademus was always a military man. He enjoyed being with his soldiers, his pilots, his crews, and his officers. This was good propaganda for the other planets who had heard the word of their Emperor's presence over Taris. A number of times he went down to the planet, meeting with the garrison and the appointed governor as well as attending rallies and letting all feel his Imperial aura. Speeches were given weekly, from either the Assertor or the planetside, drumming up the spirit of his citizens and soldiers and stoking their fervor. This is what it meant to be a ruler, to be an Emperor, to be the founder of the First Order.
======================================================
... And this, my people, my soldiers, is why we must continue to move forward! To progress further into the future! For we are not the Old Empire, we are the New Order, we are its trueborn successors and we will continue to succeed where our forefathers failed! We are the Empire! We are the bringers of Law! And our banner shall never fall, shall never falter, and shall ever be the symbol of our courage, our determination, and our future!
Nicademus bellowed into cascade microphone before a gathering of Stormtroopers, TIE pilots, Crewmembers, and officers. His broadcast being heard throughout the fleet on the eve of battle. The clocked tick without being heard as the operation was about to commence within a short time. The fleet was nearing its total size with only a few warships and detachments imminently on their way. The Emperor had yet to lose his voice, nor his spirit, as he continued with the propagandist speech and a rally to his fleet. Even as they worked, the fleet attentively listened to their Emperor as his charisma stoked the flames of their loyalty and fervor towards the Empire.
Where we have failed before, we shall not ever again! Where we have succeeded, we will not let arrogance come into our minds. For we have learned from our past and suffered for its mistakes... and we will never be oppressed again! We were born from the ashes of Empires before and exist as the guiding light of a new age of Imperialism! Together with you, we shall achieve our greatest deed since the founding of this nation, since the day I was made your emperor and it shall be a day that will be remembered forever!
With one hand firmly behind his back, he raises his fisted hand straight up, giving all the Imperial salute. The Emperor then bellows the motto of the First Order for all to hear, within vicinity of him and throughout the fleet.
Ad Gloriam! Ad Victoriam!
The persons present snap to a firm attention and respond with the same words as their Emperor. It echoed through the hangar bay thrice and throughout the fleet. With that done, the rally was over and the Emperor stepped down from his platform. Nicademus proceeded to exit the hangar bay and make his way back to the bridge of his vessel. With him were his Imperial Knights and senior military officers. As he exits the hangar bay, he was handed a canteen of water to drink from. His throat throbbing from the exertion of his voice, but it was all necessary to rally his men and women. It was all for the First Order.
A good speech, brother. If only father was around to hear it.
Nicademus hears the voice of Baltasar, his younger brother, and Field Marshal of the First Order, to his left. Azria was not present for this glorious achievement, unfortunately. She had work on Muunilinst to do, always looking to improve the methods of their psychological conditioning for their Stormtroopers. Nicademus does not look at his brother as he continues to move forward.
Father was a traditionalist, Baltasar. He would view this as radical Imperialism, I feel... not the true Imperialism he raised us on. At the same time though, it would be hard to imagine his response. Father was always hard to read.
Baltasar nods silently. Perhaps Cyrus Delvardus, the father of the three siblings, was the only person that Nicademus could not read by examining his face nor his expression. This was the truth in the end.

Having the urge to cry in silent respect for the man, who was known as the Emperor and the Supreme Commander of the First Order, Rear Admiral Jenia Kasalle had to hold herself back from getting too sentimental while being on duty. Among with other admirals of different ranks, she had been requested to join with the Emperor's forces within the orbit of Taris in order to serve in her duty as an Imperial navy commander for the upcoming battle against the Galactic Alliance. Hardly anything was known to Jenia, as details regarding the mission were rough and brief - which was reasonable in light of the countless enemies the First Order had outside and inside its borders. The target of the operation itself wasn't known to her, as she was just recently informed about the decision. But this wasn't necessarily a surprise to her - after all there were always spies within the ranks of the Empire, which either served the Galactic Alliance, the Jedi Order or anyone else, who wished to undermine the ambitions of the First Order as the rightful successor of the Galactic Empire. Thus it was reasonable that the orders regarding their target would be handed out briefly before the actual operation. Some of the higher ranked Admirals probably knew already for sure where the fleet would be heading to, but for Jenia it was only certain, that it would be an important task.
Not necessary a glorious mission, but one, which was of strategical importance. Kasalle had already witnessed during the past within the Imperial Remnant and the First Order, how cruel the reality of war could be. She remembered her days back then as an Ensign, when she was naive enough to believe that she alone would change the course of an entire galaxy as one of million cadets, who joined the upper ranks of the Imperial Navy. These thoughts quickly vanished, when the first comrades, she learnt to meet, perished quicker during future space battles than she would have imagined. With horror, Jenia remembered how she witnessed atop a Imperial-Class II Star Destroyer's bridge how the shields went down and a large hole was blown through the hull of said Star Destroyer by a Galactic Alliance ship. Crew mates perished in masses on the lower decks, including some officers, which Kasalle briefly met. Back then she had to realize within this single moment, that even a Star Destroyer, the symbol of the old Galactic Empire wasn't invincible. It was the first time, where she began to doubt within her beliefs. Yet she had reformed her thoughts, as she knew that sacrifices had to be made. In the end they all served the Empire. And the Empire was now the First Order. The eternal conflict has reshaped her mind, as the young, naive Ensign from back then has pretty much died. The theory of the Imperial Academy has vanished, as Jenia grew battlehardened by the odds she had to face in reality.
Whereever this newest mission of the First Order would lead her - the Rear Admiral was prepared for it, knowing already that the prize to achieve it will be paid in blood once more.

Aboard the First Order Venator-class Star Destroyer, the Jayanti, the crew and Lieutanent Colonel Nicolina Foresi, along with the battalion of Shadowtroopers she commands, known as the Emperor's Talons, all listen raptly and with immense pride to the Emperor's speech on the eve of the battle the great fleet in orbit has been gathered to fight. Nicolina, who in her younger days as a brand new Stormtrooper would have probably tried to appear unmoved or unaffected by the Emperor's speech in a misguided effort to seem disenchanted and cool, instead now finds herself shouting, "Ad Gloriam! Ad Victoriam!" with her fist held proudly in the air as she salutes along with her troops, spiritedly and with feeling.
Having served Nicademus for many years, from his time as leader of what was then known as the Imperial Remnant to the present day, Nicolina looks forward to demonstrate her loyally, and battle prowess, once more in service to the Emperor she and all those she commands would willingly lay down their lives for. Knowing that the conclusion of the Emperor's speech will have begun a countdown to when the battle to come will begin, Nicolina orders her company commanders ensure that their Shadowtroopers begin performing final checks of their weapons and equipment, and to have all gunship crews begin their pre-flight checks.
The captain of the Jayanti has his crew begin preparations to move out upon the Emperor's order to do so, and has his hangar crews begin preparing the Venator's starfighter compliment for deployment when the time comes.
