Greetings Good Sirs, Madams, Inanimate Objects, Phenomenon of Nature, and everything else that I've likely forgotten, It has come to my attention upon beginning the siege of Mustafar that the Dark Obelisk of the Blackguard although publicly viewable, the threads within cannot be replied to by anyone not within the Blackguard usergroup which poses some - admittedly - minor challenges toward them being used. I can't recall what the Whill stance on this has been previously where attacks on Current/Former Faction HQs are concerned, so just wondering what might be the best solution, other than cramming everyone into the Open Terrain thread? Greetings friend Valefor, Faction headquarters permissions certainly are not intended to prevent changes in control. Let me ask a few clarifying questions about this situation, and then the Whills will be able to guide you with more specificity: 1) Am I interpreting correctly that you are making a 90 day abandonment claim against Mustafar, and writing out the invasion on that basis? (if so, once you have asserted IC control of the rest of the planet, our typical practice would be to archive the abandoned faction HQ, unless it's a canon location. We can leave a single [open] thread if it would be useful to you, even temporarily.) 2) Have you attempted to contact or been in contact with any remaining members of the Blackguard faction? (you are not required to do so, since it's been more than 90 days, we just want to understand what conversations have already occurred before we were contacted) Thank you, and Stay Frosty! ~Chill |

To answer the first question: yes, we are making a 90 day abandonment claim upon Mustafar and are conducting the invasion under those guidelines. We are definitely being mindful to properly represent some remnants of the Blackguard Forces that would likely be present for the purposes of some good storytelling. I suspect it is a non-canon location so archiving it down to a single thread would be agreeable since certain of its facilities and such would still get use going forward.
To your second question: No conversations have been attempted with any present members of the Blackguard leadership. It's honestly hard to tell who is an alt and who is not where the remaining members are concerned, even for those past members that have ended up coming through the factions into the Sith Eternal.
I suppose each situation is unique and current Factions you'd be in a lot more communication/collaboration, but it does seem to be a lot of the older/abandoned faction locations still have some carry over from the days of having hidden locations/locked down to just that faction for replies. But in a more general sense, it seems a bit of a shame to let some of these historical places remained locked beyond use if their former owners have left especially where it might be nice to give them a bit of life/action before they get archived.

Hello again friend Valefor , I see that you seem to have IC control of the planet without any opposition, so I have gone ahead and collapsed the Blackguard faction HQ down to a single open thread, and archived the rest, which is in line with how we usually handle these situations. I looked over the threads and picked the one that made the most sense to be a catch-all thread. Feel free to use that single thread to write out whatever you feel is an appropriate end to the Blackguard storyline. If there is a different thread you'd like opened up, I could do that temporarily if there's a good justification. |
