Description:
The RZ-3 A-Wing Interceptor was part of a re-design proposal known as the Stelmaria Project originally intended for the Corellian Coalition. After the fall of the Coalition to the First Order, Vaughan Emrys managed to recover the Project proposals and adapted them for his own purposes. Thus a new series of Starfighters was born, with the RZ-3 A-Wing serving as a new model of Interceptor as a further evolution of A-Wing design from previous models. Much of the ships design is still rooted in the original A-Wing technology, however the RZ-3 features unique design stylings which other vessels of the Stelmaria Project share.
The RZ-3 returned to the shorter design of the RZ-1 by removing the missile tubes the RZ-2 featured, but replaced them with a pair of nose mounted Ion Cannons. These were coupled with a pair of swivel mounted Repeating Blaster Cannons located on the wing tips of the RZ-3. Like past A-Wing models, the RZ-3 does not feature an Astromech, however it does have a small navicomputer and a hyperdrive built in. Lacking a shielding system does make the RZ-3 more vulnerable to attacks, but its speed should more than make up for this drawback.
