As the last shot rung out, Pharaoh stood silent as three speeder bikes remained from the rabble. Given their distance, he would not be able to reload fast enough. His hand dropped and holster The Iron Law in one swift and smooth motion. He called upon his magicke then, drawing it within him and focusing it as the three blasters raised up. He splayed his hand out toward them as the blaster bolts started flying through the air. Sand shifted and moved, before exploding up into a wall before Pharaoh. The bolts impacted the growing wall of sand, super heating it and fusing the grains together. When at last the blasters fell silent, a wall of glass stood between Pharaoh and the three mounted thugs.
The crackling blue glow of his eyes intensified as the sand rippled across the ground before taking on the homogeneous form of three spikes which extended from the ground and aimed to impale the remaining riders. the sand beneath the remaining survivors took on a life of its own as it formed shackles and pulled the arms and legs of this wounded but still alive into the ground to trap them. Every passing moment fighting these thugs in his state pushed Pharaoh's body and power further and further toward the edge. The exertion was almost too much. But he would endure it

Ms. Watson could only watch in horror as the last three figures still on their mounts were impaled with glass spikes. Given they were still in the process of gliding to a halt, the impact was even more brutal that it might have otherwise been. Their bikes continued onward, leaving the three impaled figures dangling & dripping into the sand below them. The shouts of terror drew her attention back to those that had already been knocked from their vehicles. Within moments, the remaining figures had been drawn down into the sand. Out of sight. The sudden silence was vast, with only the cooling glass popping from moment to moment. Only two figures were left on the sand, & Ms Watson realized how far out of her depth she was.

As silence descended upon the brief battlefield, Pharaoh allowed him to relax as the only survivor left was the golden skinned beauty that had been with the aggressors. He knelt down and placed his hand upon the sand, drawing the energy of the dead and dying men through the ground and into his being. His energy stores feeling refreshment for the first time in millennia. It was invigorating to feel such fresh power flowing through his being. His blue eyes continued to crackle with energy as he stood up and walked towards the lone remaining figure laying upon the sand.
Her squatted in front of her, examining her features, trying to figure out if he knew her or what she was exactly Kyoe ghey vali? Halikae ghey vali sl dek? Vali ghey dud ghil... Yali kav par sikn monae bunoe ras... He watched the woman for a moment, before realizing she likely did not understand a single thing he was saying. He pushed himself into a standing position and walked over to one of the skewered bodies. He gripped the man's skull and squeezed. Drawing the life force out of the man along with his knowledge, giving him knowledge of this language known as Basic and certain current events. Pharaoh growled and moved onto the next two bodies, drawing out their own knowledge and energy, leaving three dehydrated looking corpses skewered upon the glass spikes.
Even with their accumulated knowledge, Pharaoh could tell there was much he had yet to learn and find out. However, their combined knowledge of Basic was enough to allow him to communicate as he turned back to the woman whose name he had extracted from these men Professor Watson... He growled the words as he stalked across the sand and stood over her, casting his shadow upon her

She remained frozen in places as he walked over & towered above her. She didn't understand what he was saying, though, & only looked on blankly. She could only watch in terror as he seemed to drain the fluids from the three remaining figures. As he turned & stalked back toward her, she managed to stagger upright. A moment later & she was running flat out across the sand. Directly away from the horrible figure & not bothering to listen to anything else he might say or do. Her only goal was to be as far away as quickly as possible.

He stood in place for a moment, watching as the Professor staggered to her feet and made off across the sand. Apparently he had scared her off. But he was not fussed. These sands were his, and they bid his command. He started off after her at a walking pace, his blue eyes continuing to crackle with energy as he summoned his magicke Stop... He sent his will into the sand, causing the dunes to start to shift beneath Katherine's feet and give way up to her ankles, in an effort to slow her down and trap her in place. Meanwhile, chains and cuffs made of sand shot out from the ground to grab at the woman, their form held by the magicke at Pharaoh's command.
He increased his pace then, his long legs propelling him at great speed across the barren landscape and toward Katherine. He would either catch up her as she was held in place by the sand, or he would catch her while she was still trying to run away. She did not seem particularly adapted to speed unlike he was

She stumbled as her foot caught on something. Glancing down, she saw what looked like a manacle made from the sand at her feet clamped around her ankle. She clawed at it, but it was as unyielding as durasteel. A shadow fell across her, & she glanced up to see the the glint of two suns off the being's metal skin. She was trapped.
Who .... Who are you?

He had finally stopped her running at long last. He squatted down in front of her as she was hunched over from trying to remove the manacle at her ankle. She was quite beautiful for a human female, a fact which stayed his hand from ending her life then and there I am... I am Pharaoh. I'm insulted you don't recognize me, since apparently you've been searching for me... I rose from that tomb... I am the King of Kings! The one true God King of Tatooine!

She sat there for several seconds after the mysterious being's pronouncement. While she had been looking into various ancient sites. She hadn't really expected to find anything. Let alone having something find her. Now she had some potentially ancient being claiming to be god standing over her. & said being has just brutally slaughtered her entire escort of local muscle.
It .... It's a pleasure to meet you?
She wasn't really sure what to do, but years of jockeying for position in academic circles had at least given her some habits to fall back onto.

She finally seemed to calm down and regain some sense of composure, something that Pharaoh could better work with. He remained squatted in front of her as she spoke. The sand shackles remained upon her ankles, lest she try escape again in her panicked state. But if she continued to calm down and he managed to reason with her, he could release her Better... You have nothing to fear from me. Your men sought to attack me, and as such they paid for their transgressions. But you... you do not. Tell me, Professor, what is it that you seek...

He couldn't be seriously asking her what she wanted. To be sure, from this angle she was entirely sure the figure was a he. But given that he was asking & the lack of other options, not answering would probably be a bad idea. On the other hand, telling him that she wanted nothing so much to be off this horrible planet & back on some more respectable work with an assignment that was actually worthwhile (& less crazy) would probably not go over well.
Ah ... A glass of water would be nice. If you please?

Aqua Vitae? A simple feat... His eyes blazed blue as his magicke flowed out from his hand. Summoning a mass of sand from the desert which instantly heated up and then cooled into the shape of a clear glass cup. Moisture was soon drawn from beneath the ground and filled the glass which Pharaoh then offered to Katherine. Once she took the glass, he would push himself up to his full height once more. His gaze slowly panning across the horizon I once ruled a vast and mighty empire that covered this world... A world that was lush and full of life... Until those invaders turned it to glass... An event, I suspect, that was long ago in your past, but feels like it only happened days ago for me... I intend to reclaim what was stolen from me, and you will help me...

She hesitated a moment after watching him effectively pull a glass of water out of thin air. Given what else she had seen him do, she really shouldn't be surprised. On the other hand. She had left the area dominated by sanity some time ago. She had no clue what was going to happen next, but she was starting to get curious to see where all this would lead.
She holds the glass for a long moment, still mostly sprawled out in the sand. The glass was slightly cool & the water inside faintly steamed from the reaction of cold liquid with hot air. It was a balancing point. She could see that much clearly. This would be the moment that would decide her future. For better or worse, she would make a choice that would drastically alter the future. Regardless of which choice she made. There was no real way to know what would happen. But only two paths continued from this point. She could chose the life she had known. The galaxy as it was. Or she could throw herself into the unknown. A mysterious past suddenly returned to the present.
Her mind quickly flickered, too fast to be conscious thought, through endless boring days. One after the other. School as a child. Yet more school as a young adult. Then the mindless grinding press of work. Endless boring functions spent flattering old fat men that thought far too much of themselves. & her mind flickered into that possible future. More of the same. Endless. Repetitive. & then death.
No
She stood in a smooth motion, not even noticing the manacles of sand falling away from her feet like loose powder. With a smooth motion, she drained the entire glass & let it fall to the ground. The sand was too soft to break the glass, which landed with a soft thump. She gazed into the distance beside Pharaoh. She didn't know if that was a name or yet another title. She didn't really care either. She looked into the distance with him. Trying to see what he might be looking for. Or looking at. But there was only endless sand.
Yes. I will.

A smile formed as Katherine rose up and agreed to join him in his quest to restore his kingdom. She would prove an invaluable asset to navigating this present day. While he could rip the knowledge from her mind that he sought to know, Katherine also presented a more familiar and friendly face for future negotiations he may need to enter into. There was much and more work to be done, but the first task would be securing the dig site around his tomb. From there he could gain a better understanding of what his ravaged world now looked like and where he could most easily expand his influence Good... Let us return to your work site. It shall be our first small step upon a much greater journey...

Watson nodded. The first step would be to recover at least a pair of the speeder bikes. Unfortunately, several of them were damaged. Of course, that still left several others. After a moment's thought though, she realized he might not even know how to ride. That would be the actual first step.
Do you know how to ride, my lord?

He turned his head and followed Katherine as she scavenged through the speeder bikes that he'd not all that long ago all but destroyed. Such vehicles had come along way in the millennia since his people had reigned supreme on this world. He swung a leg over one of the few remaining in tact bikes and kicked it to life with ease. He tested the controls for a moment before swinging the bike around to face the good Professor The Galaxy seems to have greatly improved these since I last rode one... But it's a simple enough thing to remember how and have... picked up... The knowledge he had acquired from Katherine's former bodyguards had helped him better familiarize himself with the bikes and some of their more modern controls and abilities

She nodded. Basic probably hadn't even existed when this being last roamed free. That being the case, if it .... He could gain the ability to speak it with such little effort, it should come as no surprise that he could operate most machinery as well. Or if he couldn't, he would quickly learn how. On the other hand, it meant that she wouldn't have him riding behind her. She wasn't sure if the thought was disappointment or relief.
Of course, my lord. If you will follow, we will head straight for the site.
The trip back didn't take long. A speeder bike had vastly more mobility than a single person on foot, even someone like Khubris. She didn't really expect much difficulty from the staff she had left behind. The majority of them were simply interns, filling out various credit hours until they could get their degrees. A few were the rich dabblers that always seem to attach themselves to such projects. There was, of course, the boss of the site. But he was little more than an overweight slob that only went on such trips because his current university position was too low to brush it off on others. As for the hired local help. Well, Kat didn't really know how they would react. But it would be interesting to see.

Of course, I'll follow your lead... He pulled his bike alongside Katherine's and followed her on the trail back to the dig site from where his tomb had been. He had taken little notice of the worksite when he had left. But now it was filled with activity. People examining items he knew they considered artifacts of a bygone era. It was strange to have people looking at mundane things such as dishes with such wonder and awe. He would never really understand that about the future. A peculiarity which he would ignore.
He easily transitioned himself off the bike and walked toward the camp. His gaze taking in the hired guards whom were quickly convening upon his location. He suspected some of them had friends or relations amongst those he had slaughtered moments ago. While he could easily kill them, it did seem like a waste when he could try take a diplomatic approach. He came to a stop and motioned toward where Katherine was sitting on her speeder bike I have returned with your ward safe and unharmed... The same cannot be said for your compatriots. But the same does not need to happen to you... We can fight, and you will die, or... You can hire your services out to me instead. Precious metals and gems of great value could be yours to spend. The choice is yours gentlemen...

"let's go then!" Crystal led the way out of the ship after grabbing her own gear. As they walked out of the ship, she finger combed her hair into place. Then she pulled the goggled down over her eyes. The landing area was on the edge of town so it was a short walk to where the sand started piling up and civilization disappeared. Wrapping her cloak tightly around her, she set a brisk pace through the sand and they quickly left Mos Espa behind. She had brought a handheld navigation device with her but she knew the way and kept the sun at her back for the morning, trusting the force to guide her way.
Within a few hours, they had arrived at a rocky crag, poking out from the sand. It looked like every other rocky area in the desert but Crystal walked closer and ducked down, knowing there was a small entrance almost hidden behind another rock. Checking to make sure Eimhin was still following her, she beckoned for him to follow before folding her frame within the opening. This had been a lot easier last time she had come here. She had grown since then and didn't have the same excitement fueling her actions. She sighed, she just felt old now. As she lowered herself through the entrance and onto the cave floor, she felt the force swirl around her and whispered echoes of previous visitors rose up around her. She doubted the boy noticed, but a force sensitive individual would have heard the whispers which were slightly creepy if you hadn't heard them before.

EIMHIN:
*The boy had no trouble keeping up with her. When they got to the entrance, he easily fit through. He paused, small body stiffening when he heard something very strange.*
"Uhh..Crystal? Did you just say something?"

Crystal looked over at the boy. "What? No, I didn't say anything. Why?" She took another step into the cave and as she did, the whispers intensified. She was sure many a treasure hunter or weak apprentice had met their demise here, adding to the whispers over time but the voices didn't bother here and she effortlessly tuned them out as they tried to whisper to her about her doom and how pathetic she was. She had heard those words way too often from her master to let them affect her. As she walked over the rough floor and away from the cave opening, there was almost no light. She took out a glow rod and held it above her head to provide light for herself and Eimhin. "It's just a little deeper..." Her words trailed off as she moved on down the cave passageway.
