"Well, it was certainly an honor to have you here, sir." Placing his helmet on a nearby table, he turned to face the emperor fully. Discuss business? This itself was quite odd, as he was a member of COMPNOR, not even a member of the military, and not a very high ranking one at that. Nodding his head, he gestured to a nearby door."There. It's a bar that was booked out for the event. I was planning on getting a drink anyhow, perhaps you would like to join me?" The Emperor seemed inclined to accept the offer. He turns to his brother.Field Marshal, have the bar be properly secured. Matters of state do not require the public's ear.Baltasar Delvardus bows his head to the Emperor before departing with a squad of Stormtroopers. Nicademus wanted to ensure that this sensitive matter of state was conducted without interference from the public. Granted, they wholeheartedly approved of the Imperial policies under his reign, but still, matters of state were matters of state and the public was best kept in the dark on some of them.
Once the place was secure, the Imperial made his way over with Erhard and a trio of Imperial Knights. The bar was vacant save for the entourage of the Emperor, himself, and their guest. Once within, the Emperor sees the bartender leave out a bottle of Corellian Brandy for him and Erhard.Tell me, Erhard, what do you think of how the First Order conditions and trains its Stormtroopers? How propaganda is utilized in rousing the public and instilling loyalty within the people as well as the military?

Erhard raised an eyebrow. This was certainly not what he had expected when he had come here. He decided that answering with his full opinion could not hurt here.
“The current training regimens are... impressive, to be certain, and results in soldiers who are far superior to those the Empire has had access to in the past. Even so, however, I am of the opinion that the programme could be further refined. I have no doubt that Comissar Delvardus is working on such solutions, however, so I am doubtless that any sort of issue would be resolved quickly regardless.”
This was, more or less, the truth. Although he had left out some details, he figured that the Emperor did not need the nitty gritty details of how the training could be minutely improved, nor did he think that was the reason he was being approached about this. After all, he was a master of propaganda, so the real crux of the matter lay in the second part of the question.
Taking a sip of his brandy and swishing it in his glass, he glanced down into the glass for a moment before looking back up at the Emperor.
“As for the current methods of instilling loyalty, well... if you would allow me to speak candidly, I do think they are effective in the loyalty side of things. However, I think that some things could be changed. The stormtroopers are extremely loyal to both you and the First Order, but that does not instil virtue to fight. And while I do think loyalty is to be prized equally as virtue, there must also be an emphasis placed on making sure these soldiers have a reason to be fighting, beyond blind loyalty to the empire. Blind loyalty can lead to traitorous behaviour if given the wrong circumstances, and that’s the only real issue I see.”

Nicademus takes in the words of Erhard, seeing that the man understood the machinations that were behind the process that created the newer Stormtrooper Corps of this Empire. Indeed, he himself had thought of the concept years ago, but it was his sister who made them reality. At least, she did make them a reality till several months ago. No one knows where she went, not even Harnan Ren, who seemed to be in her company often. The news was kept under wraps, but her fate was declared to be deceased after an investigation. Nicademus knew his sister, Azria would not simply vanish. She was either dead or alive... that's the kind of woman she was and why so many men could never gain her attention.
The Emperor remains quiet, thinking on the words of Erhard. He understood the process, how it needed to modified, and how to make it more effective at yielding results to the future of the First Order, both in a civilian and military way. The Imperial glances at his brother who was present and nods to him. Then he looks at Erhard.Erhard, the Commissar Delvardus has been declared dead after an investigation. Not a trace of her has been found in several months. As a result, the First Commissar's position has been vacant... and I fear she never made a protege to take over.He reaches into his pocket and sets down the badge that once belonged to Azria, the officer's badge worn by the First CommissarI want you to be her successor, Erhard.

The First Commissar declared dead. That was not a welcome piece of news. After taking a minute or so to recover from the initial shock, he drank the remaining brandy in his glass. in an attempt to refocus his mind.
"That is... unfortunate, sir. She will be sorely missed."
Erhard looked down at the silvery badge on the bar. This was not what he was expecting when the Emperor had initiated the conversation, but the discussion had very clearly been leading up to this point. And he likely should have seen it coming. Even so, though, it was certainly an interesting proposition. He had seen the workings of the First Order from the outside, ever since his leaving of the fighter corps, and purely as a paramilitary force member. And so, to be vaulted into this position of power out of nowhere was certainly going to be quite a change of pace. Even so, though, the real overriding doubt he had in his mind was not if he could handle the responsibilities of the position, but if he would be a worthy successor to Azria.
While he had never met the commissar, he looked up to her immensely as what he always strove to be. The thought that he could replace her seemed almost foreign to him. That he was suddenly thrust into a place where he would take the position of his idol was certainly an interesting prospect, and not one he took very lightly.
"Forgive me for speaking candidly sir, but what would the commissariat want with a fighter veteran who's served as a speaker for COMPNOR?"

Nicademus would look at Erhard when the question was asked.
The Commissariat requires someone, of your skill set, that can truly lead by example.
Slowly, the Emperor raises two fingers for the Imperial to see.
The first reason is that, as a military veteran, you understand, firsthand, our methods in conditioning our soldiers and educating them to be a truly new breed of fighter. Whether it be an Imperial pilot or a Stormtrooper, everyone is conditioned to excel and show great loyalty to the state and their Emperor. By that firsthand experience, you know what works, what doesn't, and what needs to be refined.
He lowers one finger, indicating the coming of the second reason.
As a civilian, and a spokesman for COMPNOR, you know what makes the population loyal. What makes them truly understand the virtues and benefits of Neo-Imperialism, of the Empire, and more. You ensure they understand that their role is just as vital as the front-line soldier after all. With that experience, you are able to determine the best propaganda for both the military and the civilian.
And to put a leash on COMPNOR, thought the Emperor. They were a good asset, but left to their devices, and they may prove to be a liability. The Commissariat, and the Imperial Civil Services, was what the Empire needed, not self-proclaimed zealots. Nicademus knew that this offering would be tempting to Erhard. Once he joined, COMPNOR would suffer a blow that the Emperor needed them to feel.
Will you accept, Erhard?

Erhard picked up the small, silvery badge from the bar, examining it. The flawless metal glittered underneath the lights suspended from the ceiling above the bar. Sparkling indefinitely. Erhard looked down into the immaculately polished metal, a reflection distorted by the various lines and ridges on the badge staring back.
“You know, after I left the Fighter Corps, I thought I could put the Imperial military behind me. Let it all drift away, but still contribute to the Empire.”
Nicademus was likely at least slightly puzzled by this angle Erhard was taking, but the COMPNOR speaker decided to stay with it. He wasn’t lying here though; after the incident, he had decided to let it all die. To forget about everything, and move on to something more removed; where he could think through everything without the stress of battle bearing down on him. His faith in himself and his conviction to an ideology had been shaken that day, and he needed time to think about things from a semi-removed perspective, while still contributing.
“I joined COMPNOR as a means to... well, as a means to begin again. But truthfully? It was... is... unfulfilling work. Two years ago I would have told you no, and that I loved my current position, and everything that came with it... I would’ve said it wasn’t time to let go, to rejoin my comrades.”
What he said, once again, was not untrue. Work with COMPNOR had its benefits sure; money, influence, time off from work, women... but it was missing something. A truth that Erhard had come to realise during these last few years, as he had seen old idols and comrades resurface within the First Order. Garrick Needa, the infamous captain who was said to be as harshly disciplined that he was capable of venting men out airlocks when they weren’t up to part, now a Grand Admiral legendary for both his reputation, his actions, and his history. The Imperial Knights, brought back from the brink by the actions of its Grandmaster. The tide was rising, and unless he rose with it he would drown along with his legacy. And so, he clenched the badge in his fist.
“But... I am not the same man I was two years ago. So, I accept your offer.”
It was likely Emperor Delvardus was playing some larger game here, as there were most probably candidates matching his skill level within the Imperial Military already. Perhaps he was sending a message to COMPNOR, that even their best and brightest could and would belong to the Imperial Military proper. Maybe there was some sort of trust issue within the ranks of the First Order. Either way, it was good to have purpose again.

I will notify the senior officers within the Commissariat this afternoon of their new superior. The Emperor replies, glad to see a proper successor set within the department. Erhard had his talents and certainly they would be of better use to the government directly and within military employment instead of COMPNOR. The Empire gained a boon and Nicademus dealt a blow to the organization. Nicademus rises from his seat, heading for the doorway. The Imperial pauses, looking back at Erhard. Also, consider an additional elevation is in the works. I am working on a cadre of officers within the Empire that will represent the top and most efficient of my commanders within the Stormtrooper Corps. You will be among them, Commissar Bechtold. And with that, he departed.==================================== After the meeting with Erhard, the Emperor made an appearance when he noticed Imperial HNN journalists nearby, wanting some comments and answers. Nicademus gave them the publicity they wanted, a means to keep everything under wraps and without arousing suspicions. Afterward, the Emperor would situate himself in armored hovercar with his brother, Baltasar. As the transportation lifted up, the Field Marshal spoke.=Baltasar= You dealt the needed blow to COMPNOR, Nicademus. They will likely begin to think twice of their activities.Nicademus glances out the tinted window, noticing journalists still taking pictures and people cheering below.I won't have a relic of the Old Empire thrive within my Empire, Baltasar. I will see them dismantled, whether they are willing to or not.

The shuttle that carried Xoia made its way down into the spaceport of Harnaidan. The orders had already been passed between the pilot and the fleet that awaited her, so that when she landed, someone was already waiting for her at the designated landing zone just next to the fleet. Exiting the shuttle with her gear, she took notice of the man standing there. As her transport departed, she set her things down and gave him a salute. He returned the salute before motioning for her to follow. Grabbing up her things, she fell into step behind him.
"Xoia Reyes. I am Flight Captain Conrad Vesker, flight lead of Ofnir Squadron. I've read the reports of your status during your training. I must say, I am impressed with how well you have done. I'm sure you will do well. That being said, I wouldn't let that go to your head. No matter how intense your training, nothing compares to live-action on the front lines. Do keep that in mind and don't do anything foolish while in the cockpit." Crossing the landing zone, the Noctis Deep Patrol Fleet came into view. A single Vigil-class Corvette and two Gozanti-class Cruisers along with eight TIE/fo resting on racks made up the group. Everyone was moving about and pilots checking over their fighters. Vesker stopped for a moment. "I'm sure daddy wasn't too thrilled about your assignment here. Such a fool, thinking that he's as influential as he is and that his name actually means anything."
Xoia stopped and felt a sudden rise of anger within her at the mention of her father in such a disrespectful light. While she held her tongue against the General and even her own father, that built-up frustration slipped out. "Don't you dare speak about my father like that. I won't tolerate it." At that moment, she may have signed her own death warrant but her green eyes looked defiantly at the man before her.
Vesker raised an eyebrow as he looked at her during her outburst. In most cases, she would have been punished for her disrespect for command and speaking out as she did. However, he found it amusing. If anything, it showed she had some backbone and wouldn't back down. That was good. The defiance, he suspected wouldn't be an issue when it came to following orders.
"Touch a nerve, did I? You certainly are a little spitfire. That's good. Honestly, I don't care if that offends you. Want to run to your father, let him guide your life and hand you everything? Well, you better run on back to him and hope you ever get that chance. If you want to wait for hand-outs, don't waste my time. I want those who want to be the best and want to work to prove it. You have the skills, this I know. Your father didn't hand them to you; you earned them through hard work. Stick to that, and I'm more than sure you'll make daddy proud, and more so, yourself as well. So what's it going to be?" Xoia took a deep breath to calm her nerves but stood tall and didn't move. "Good. You will be designated as Ofnir Five. The TIE all the way to the left will be yours. It's brand new so take care of it. You will be stationed on Ninox. Go after and unload your things in your room and get back out here so we can link up. You have five minutes."
With that, Vesker was gone. Moving towards the ship mentioned to be the Ninox, Xoia carried her things aboard. She thought about what he said, how he responded to her. All she wanted to was to make her father proud, to prove she could do it and be the daughter he wanted. She didn't want to be handed anything. And if it really meant sticking with this squadron to prove to him how capable she was, then she would do all she could to be the best she could.
Once she was loaded, she quickly made her way outside. Already where ships powering up and pilots dropping down into the fighters. Quickly boarding the rack, she lowered herself into her fighter and began powering up the systems. One by one the systems came alive and the turbines of the engines came to life. The larger ships then lifted off and began to head into orbit with the Gozanti cruisers waiting long enough for the TIEs to lock up. Keeping eyes on the Ninox, she disengaged the clamps that held her in place and began to ascend. She took it slow as the three other TIEs began finding their spots, showing her just where she needed to be. Steadily and carefully, she navigated her fighter into place and lock it in before working to power down. With her in place, the ship pressed upwards into orbit as she boarded the Ninox and made her way to her room.

The former capital of the Empire, where pro-Imperial sentiment ran strong among the people of the First Order, would have had a spectacle to show for the declaration of Coruscant as the capital of the Empire, and what it symbolized, even if the government, or even COMPNOR, wasn't involved in creating one. And, indeed, there were still parties to be had across the city of Harnadian, and the planet at large. However, all that was dwarfed by the celebrations organized by the government of the planet. Hundreds of soldiers, armored columns, fighters in the sky, everything to display the latest and greatest of the Imperial might of the First Order. Muunlininst would continue to be a bastion of Imperial support from now into the future, and this day proved it more then any other.

Brother Eli emerged from the skyhook facility into the open streets of Harnaidan. The entrance of the Skyhook where he stood was highlighted by a single ray of sunlight that shown through the dense banking edifices and towering spires casting shadows everywhere else. The fresh and humid air rolled over him in that moment of beauty. He lowered his metal cube, took his hat in hand, and lifted his face into the light, arms outstretched.
To any onlooker, they would have seen a tableaux of saintly splendor: a huge man in white, highlighted by the sun in the dark shadowed streets of the city. The glow about him was unearthy, and his face held an expression of heavenly serenity.
Feeling the Sun, Brother Eli took the moment as a good Omen for the work he was about to commence. "Truly a blessed day!"
Still within the rays of the sun, Brother Eli dropped the metal cube on the ground. It was a meter in all directions, emblazoned with an all searching eye. Eli then stepped up onto it, adding a meter to his 7 ft size, towering over all onlookers and passers-by.
In his loud booming voice, Eli began with a benediction. "IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR! I bless this land and hallow it, that it may yield believers, and strengthen the faith of those who seek the holy path. FOR THE EMPEROR, his Holiness, IS MIGHTY and his ARM IS STRONG TO PROTECT the righteous, who believe in him and have faith in his chosen ones. Look unto him in all things and suffer not the wicked to mislead you, and he shall prosper you. AMEN!"

The bustling crowd slowed around Brother Eli as he stood wreathed in white light like an Angel, and projected his voice of thunder.
"I COME before you today, my brothers and sisters, on a mission from GOD! His word to the ears of the Inquisition, and printed and bound in the CODEX!" *brother Eli lifted a thick book from his coat pocket, into the air.* "... His word engraved on the hearts and minds of the righteous, and to my lips today! For on this day, I call you now to REPENTANCE! Too long have you wallowed as an ox in a mire! TOOOOO LOOOONG have you put faith in credits and metal machines! THE GOD-EMPEROR of ALL MANKIND SEES your ABOMINATIONS and yet is merciful and kind and gentle. I, Brother Eli, am a Confessor of the Inquisitorious, and have been commissioned by the all-father to hear your sins and bear witness to your penitence."

Brother Eli Continued to speak, and the crowd continued to gather. As the sun moved, the light somehow managed to stay and reflect off buildings, always managing to land on Brother Eli as he preached. The crowd began to respond to him. A lone voice in the back of the crowd yelled. "The Emperor protects!"
Brother Eli was Radiant as he immediately responded, "AMEN! That man's sins are forgiven! A blessing upon you!" Another voice from the crowd shouted "God be praised!" Brother Eli: "And HE SHALL! Brother, Go forth and Sin no more! THE EMPEROR PROTECTS!" "The emperor Protects!" Shouted another. "The EMPEROR protects!" Replied another. "THE EMPEROR PROTECTS!" shouted a third.
Eli joined them as they began chanting, "THE EMPEROR PROTECTS! THE EMPEROR PROTECTS!" repeatedly.

Though the Bastion Oversector had remained extremely prosperous under the wise leadership of its Grand Moff. However, this did not come with its own difficulties. Particularly of those who were Imperial Fanatics, wishing to change the way the Empire worked. Back to the old ways. Despite the age of Garrick Needa, he was not in favour of such a return, and as such, would generally tend to solve these things.
As it was on a typical day, stormtroopers patrolled the streets of the city, and one of their heaviest concentrations was along the skyhook to the High Port. After all, this was a vital infrastructure link, which could have dire consequences for the planet if it was severed. One of these stormtrooper patrols was marching around the square just outside it when, all of a sudden, they were distracted by emanations of light from the square itself. Immediately, they notified command, and began moving to secure the area, riot shields in hand. Arriving at the edge of the crowd, they began to shout through their helmet's noise amplifiers.
"Cease and leave the area immediately! You are in violation of legal code E-415, this demonstration is unlawful, and will be dispersed if you do not do so peacefully!

Brother Eli had watched the Stormtroopers approach. Their lawful admonishments were not unexpected.
Brother Eli raised his hand and returned the holy book to its coat pocket near his heart. The crowd fell silent, all eyes on him.
"My Dear brothers and sisters! We must respect our brother-knights in White! They fight for the EMPEROR and extend his righteous WILL upon the heathen nations!"
The crowd fringes, nearest the stormtroopers, who seemed tense, relaxed at Eli's words. They smiled and waved to the troopers. More than one whispered "God bless you!" to individual troopers, as well as "The emperor protects!"
"Though we must retire to our homes and places, that is no reason to cease your prayers! Go now! Be SILENT and with your repetitions of the prayers in your mind, begin to engrave the GOD-EMPEROR'S NAME and IMAGE in your hearts! I will preach no more today. Find me on the morrow and I will bring God's word to you, as it was shared with me. IN THE NAME OF THE GOD-EMPEROR OF MANKIND, DEPART IN PEACE! "
With those words, the sun miraculously set, shrouding the public street area in the shadows of the surrounding tall buildings.
The crowd, previously rapt with his words began to disperse, slowly streaming from the area, around the wall of storm troopers in riot gear.
Brother Eli dismounted from his pulpit, and raised the Cube to his shoulders, clasping outstretched hands and blessing those he passed.
*In about 10 minutes the street was back to its normal level of traffic for the location at this time of day. *

Brother Eli walked down the streets of the Muun capital city. His disposition made cheery by the human souls he was able to touch today. Their receptivity to his message about the Emperor was promising. He strode down the street carrying his Cube on his back, humming the hymns of the inquisition under his breath. he didn't know specifically where he was going, but that did not concern him. he was a sworn representative of the faith and would endure any hardship for the truth. Even sleeping in alleyways. The homeless were as much in need of God's word as any one!
Brother Eli diverted off of the main thoroughfares and onto byways, and side streets, searching for the under privileged and down trodden. Further down an alleyway, Eli approached a dead end. In the distance he could hear the rolling of the muun waves over sandy shores. The air was moist with a sea breeze. Under the open sky at the end of the ally, sat a group of vagabonds by a campfire.
"Hail my brothers!" Brother Eli's greeting was thick and hearty. "Wots yer deal?" the most rotund among them spoke, the rest looking astonished. "May I join you at your fire, Brothers and sister?" he nodded to the single female among them. "Wooo im gozz's black 'ells be ewe?" The fat one stood up.
As the 7 foot tall Eli approached, he just seemed to get larger and larger. The 12 hobos watched until he stopped by the fire, and dropped his block of metal, a meter cubed. Another one shifted in his seat and fell over, and a 3rd lifted up an eyepatch so he could look at Eli with both eyes. "I am Brother Eli, a Pilgrim of the Inquisition. I have come to preach the good word and spread faith in the God-Emperor of all mankind!" "A blooming preacher-man?" Another spat on the ground. "Acht, well, ya might has will hahvah seat by the by." the woman spoke: "We hain't got much, but what weev got, wi'll share wiv yoo."
Brother Eli sat upon his cube, the brazen eye marking the cube watching all at the fire. "What are your names?" The fat one spoke. "I be Pitre. Here be my brother Handrew. Yon is Johnan the tall one, and Jamesohn, is his brother, both Zebedees. Philius is the woman, Barkau the dirty one, Toemash, were a former embezzler, Matias is... wohl Matias fer sure. Tat be Jamesohn Morpheus, him patter be named Morpheus. Tat small kin thar be Thad. No utter name just Thad. Then thar be Zealimon, not right o' noggin. That asshat is Judas Iscariot. He makes up stories."
"Very well. I greet you in the Emperor's name. May I stay the night with you?" Pitre looked around the fire at the others, and the majority were nodding their assent. "Ja. Rest wiv us o'while." "What is a Pilgrim?" Thad asked in his small young voice. "A Pilgrim is a man on a journey, in search of the greatness of God." Eli replied. "Have you found it yet?" Toemash laughed. The group laughed with him.
"I have." Eli took off his wide brimmed hat revealing his face and head to the fire light. His head was hairless, with symbols and designs burned, scratched, scarred, and branded into his skin. His ears were cauliflower-ed messes. His eyes shined with a fervor unmatched. Their laughter died away. "Brothers and sisters, be not afraid! I come with good tidings. No longer will mankind languish in the shadows or tremble before Xeno scum. We will rise in the service of the God-Emperor and do his work here!" The group seemed riveted at his words, as if each word was a shining ray of hope in their otherwise downtrodden lives. "Come, let us join hands in prayer, and I will share my message from the beginning. There will be nothing shared between us but the sacred precious truth!"

Throughout the evening, Brother Eli taught the 12 vagabonds the pure truth of the god-emperor of mankind. He started at the beginning of all things and continued to the middle and concluded at the end. "... And you see, The God-Emperor loves humanity, as a father loves a son. He wishes us to purify all filthy heathen Xenos that refuse to acknowledge these teachings. His words must go forth to strengthen the faith of the weak and quell heresy where-ever it may be found."
The twelve nodded at his words.
"I know you have lived in darkness and ignorance"
Several swallowed and nodded guiltily.
"As a confessor of the inquisition, I am empowered to hear your sins and grant penitence or absolution. The Emperor's grace is mighty to save those who believe on him."
Pitre spoke for his brethern when he asked. "How are we to repent of our unbelief?"
"By SHARING his HOLY WORD!" Brother Eli raised his hand to the sky. "I hereby grant absolution for your ignorance if you go forth and share all that I have said to you tonight." Eli lowered his hand. "If you share the word with all that you meet in the next 10 days, and 10 nights, you will be doing God's work."
"THE EMPEROR PROTECTS!" the vagabonds raised their fists in the air.
"The emperor protects!" Brother Eli replied approvingly. "Get some rest tonight my brothers and sister. Tomorrow we will spread the word!"

Their experience with Brother Eli had changed the 12 vagrants. Their physical interaction with the man had filled them with conviction approaching absolute certainty of the truth of the words that he spoke. Where before they hadn't cared much about who was the bloody emperor, they now KNEW that it was the goodness and GRACE of the God-Emperor of all mankind that peace and prosperity existed, and calamity was kept at bay.
Throughout the next 10 days the words of Eli, as relayed by the 12 vagabonds spread like wildfire through the underground and unprivileged classes of the city. The Vagabonds split up and each told countless numbers, whoe then told scores of others. In any society, the majority of individuals exist on the bottom of the social hierarchy, and they were ready for the message of hope for humanity. The growth of believers in the God-Emperor exploded exponentially.
Brother Eli was pleased. Hitherto, the good news about the God-Emperor and his role in humanity's existence was a philosophy constrained to the higher classes, or social elites. Those imperial fortunates with the clout to impose upon the empire; the lords and ladies of good name, the influential, the pious; those that knew what the inquisition was, and its mission. Brother Eli's intent to bring the truth to the masses was bursting into bloom.
While the 12 vagabonds were spreading the word, Brother Eli preached to the higher members of society. His touch was infectious. As he laid his hands on people to bless them, or communicate his earnestness, he would instantly instill in them his pure convictions of the truth of his words. He'd touch a servant, or secretary, and that would get him an audience with the household. His handshake or blessing impressed all that he touched and his words stimulated belief in every hearer. Before the 10 days were out, Brother Eli had managed to convert key people controlling vast resources including holonet media channels... He planned to use those resources or donations to purchase holonet media time, thus allowing him to preach to an extensive audience.

The elegant room had wide windows, showing a sizable part of Harnaidan. The building was fully made in the Muuns' classic style -probably build before the Clone Wars-, which, by itself, was a pleasure to the eye of the beholder. But, Ju'oda had little time to focus on the interior decoration or the gilded ceilings, as he was talking with several long-faced aliens. He stood in front of the carved desk, looking at several Muuns in colorful and ornate garments.
"You cannot force that on us, upstart! You're but a ferking rancor-spawn born in some gutter! We're the Banki..."
The slap came as a surprise for everyone, the bonnet falling from the Muun's head to the ground. Ju'oda had crossed the banking dignatary's face with a full arm swing. The alien covered his face with a fragile hand, while everyone else looked concerned, there were some muttered complains.
"Adress me by proper title, Hargunko, else you want me to command my trooper to do it next"
The featureless mask of a Death Trooper silently turned to face the gathered Muuns, who looked more terrified than ever. There were four in the room, blasters at the ready.
"But, my lord director, we had functioned independently until now and there was no Imperial decree about..."
Ju'oda raised a finger.
"The Emperor would sooner euthanize your population than hearing any more of your complains"
Few of them gasped.
"But, I understand bussiness. I know the Banking Clan is needed, albeit not in its current form. Your assets were nationalized"
"Yes, but we have been handling our assets independently with some form of Imperial overseeing from time to time that's it. We have functioned as we did before we were incorporated into the Empire"
"You cannot enforce this, lord director"
The striations pulsated, the director of the IEA raised an admonitory finger.
"I can do it and I will. By command of the Imperial Economic Agency you are hereby incorporated into the said agency. All your assets, properties, ships, personel and enforcers now will ultimately answer to me"
The aliens remained sour-faced and silent.
"By my gracious mercy, you shall remain in your current offices, as shareholders of the former Clan and members the Core Five"
The faces lightened slightly.
"However, I now replace in all functions and authority the chairman of the clan and the said office shall be associated, from now on, to the director of the agency I honorably lead. Understood?"
"Yes, lord director"
"Indeed"
"Aye"
"Couldn't be easier to understand"
"Crystal clear, sire"
"Good to have your explicit consent. My clerks will review all your assents, personal accounts excluded -I have no wish to know what do you do with your wealth as long as it doesn't affect bussiness-, but they will be throughful with anything else. I shall remain in Harnaidan for a full rotation: at the end of it I shall call on you and review the results of the said inspection and auditioning"
The Muuns nodded.
"Now, you're all dismissed"
He gestures with his right hand, the Muuns leave, after a short bow. The bonnet was picked by a nervous hand on the way out. After the door slid close Ju'oda turns to face a Death Trooper.
"In four days, go to that Muun's house and assassinate him. Don't leave a trace of your presence. Use one of your toxins to eliminate him"
The bodyguard simply nods. Ju'oda keys something in the datapad.
"Secretary Oliandrel"
"Yes, sir?"
"Send word to Magnifikent Horonen in five standard days: he's to become a Core Five. There will be an openning"
"Understood, director"
Ju'oda then circles the ornate desk and takes a seat, turning the chair to stare at Harnaidan's cityscape. Horonen had a glitterstim addiction and certain liking for minors, he was already being blackmailed and was entirely in Ju'oda's grasp. Just like other two members of the Core Five. Valen had provided the proper intel, hadn't been too hard, for the Muuns were a decadent folk. The director, pleased with himself, allowed a smile to appear on his thin cruel lips.

The society of Muunilist was traditionally straight-laced and repressed. They did not make much outward fuss. But new trends were emerging in holo-space indicating the foothold of the inquisitorial religion praising the "god emperor of all mankind" and reviling "filthy xenos." The posts at this stage were mostly trumpeting and bluster; no one yet advocated violence. Though the planet was the Muun homeworld, the religion found widest appeal among the human population. It made some Muun uneasy, especially in the wake of the vaguest of rumors of tension between the bankers and the First Order.
>>>>> VBLOG: THE EMPEROR PROTECTS! Whats up everyone out there?! Greetings from Muunilist! Alot of you have been wondering about my thoughts and feelings about "the truth" being shared out there. I am making this holo-vblog to document my thoughts.
I can't remember when I first heard it. Actually, yeah it was last month. But even though I wasn't, like, one of the first to hear about it, it, it- just feeeeeels... I just know its true. Its like I have known it all my life but couldn't put it into words. There is soooo much in life that is uncertain: like, where did we come from? what happens when we die? did the universe just *bang* into existence, like all the highly educated, qualified, astronomers, cosmologists and astrophysicists say? Or was this all created in a highly simplified and magical *poof* of metaphorical events that credulous religious apologetics take literally?
I donno. And that bothered me.
But what I DO know is that the answer is the God-emperor of all mankind! It feels so good to know that he is the Answer to EVERYTHING! Some people may say that I am just too psychologically uncomfortable and intolerant of the breadth and depth of the gaps in modern scientific understanding, or that I am too lazy to do the work to investigate- But I want you all to know, Its because it all makes sense! The Emperor created the Empire, which has become the First Order. I feel more calm and devoted to the First Order than ever before! It gives me alot of comfort to know that the God-emperor of all mankind is out there and looking over us! Obviously this means that he still guides the First Order today! Anyway, I just wanted to say that it gives me great comfort to know that our leaders are part of the divine order, and are inspired by the God Emperor, to lead us.

NEWS REPORT>>>>>> BREAKING NEWS! FO independant press reporting: Early today in Harnaidan, a citizen reported finding the bodies of 5 Muun in the upper-lower city center neighborhood. Authorities have responded to the scene. In their investigation, they discover holo-footage of multiple perpetrators. Based on the recordings, law enforcement has released these images of the 10 suspected killers. >>>>>>> [Displays still images of the 10 suspects.] >>>>>>>> individuals with information or tips are advised to contact law enforcement using the hotline below.
In a preliminary report, authorities believe the killings were species-motivated. In footage deemed too graphic to show, they describe the 10 suspects antagonized and provoked the Muun. The suspects and Muun engaged in a verbal altercation, before the suspects striking a Muun in the neck. One Muun was armed, and when he produced his blaster, perhaps to try to scare the suspects away, the Suspects overwhelmed him, and the other Muun, before beating them to death. Truly a grizzly crime. Throughout the interaction, the Suspects demanded the Muun acknowledge the supremacy of the God-Emperor of All Mankind. At the scene, Authorities also found phrases such as "The Emperor protects," "Heretic," "Xeno scum," "Filthy Xenos," and "God-emperor rulz!" laser-etched with a blaster into the duracrete. Law Enforcement states the investigation is ongoing.
For more we return to the studio.
>>>>>>>>>>>>> [In the studio, camera pans to a male and female human news anchors at a table.]
"What do you make of that, Karen?" "Wow, Gee. I don't know, Chad." "I looked into some of those phrases and they seem linked to an older galactic religious sect called the inquisition." "Do you Have any idea where the idea of a "god emperor" comes from?" "I was just getting to that, Karen. The inquisition has its roots in the Galactic empire created by Emperor Palpatine. Not much is known about the secretive organization other than rumors that over time it became more like a religious cult following the emperor." "Emperor Palpatine, or whomever is the current emperor?" "That is uncertain. We don't know." "Ok, so where does this all come from? This seems to be the 4th instance of similar violence this month, but only a month prior to this, the only thing any of us heard regarding any fervor about a "God-Emperor" was an increase in graffiti, both about the emperor, and decrying xenos." "Where did this come from?" "Well this seems to be the result of a grass-roots movement. Doing alittle research, one name keeps coming up again and again from our sources. "Brother Eli." Approximately three months ago, reports began surfacing of a preacher calling himself "Brother Eli" approaching 12 individuals. Now those individuals call themselves the "12 vagabonds" and they claim they preach the words that Brother Eli gave them. Like apostles, they seem to have been solely concerned with spreading his teachings, and whats more, people who have interacted with them claim things like quote: "The truth of their words is irrefutable. You can't help but KNOW its true." "That's astonishing." "Get this though, at some point the 12 vagabonds got access to a holonet broadcast channel and began broadcasting sermons." "We don't have permission to rebroadcast the footage, but it doesn't seem as though they advocate violence, but they do place extreme emphasis on devotion to the god-emperor." "Where does the anti-xenocism come from?" "Well, based on the status of the emperor as the emperor of all mankind, the sermons seem to place special emphasis in the role of humanity in the empire. We're not sure whether this is a doctrinal manifest destiny or an aspirational goal, or whether it is a colorful metaphor that religions seem to employ. At this point you're guess is as good as mine." "Thank you for that Chad. Now joining us is our correspondent on Muun affairs and religions, Zin Zanse. Nice to have you Zin"
[the camera pans wide to include a well dressed Muun sitting next at the table next to Chad, and across form Karen] "Nice to be here." "Zin, as a Muun, what is your take on these murders, especially in light of this religion appearing on Muunilist?" "As a Muun, I am horrified. It makes me feel like a second class citizen, and like the First Order is not taking steps to protect its citizens. Sure I remember better times before the First Order was present, but we have accepted their role now in our society. To now have violence perpetrated by some anthropocentric cult in the name of a God, smacks of backward thinking. This bares a resemblance to the ancient religious teachings of Hay-Sus, or the human stories in the archaic Beebel-book. Human tribal religions often have demanded blood, killing males, females, and babies. Sometimes their god would kill children directly." "Horrifying Zin. But getting back to the recent events..." "I will just come out and say it. Any God-Emperor, or whatever, that approves of violence for failing to acknowledge a species-centric concept of supremacy is clearly idiotic. Any individual that preaches that sort of thing is spreading hate and must be silenced. This irrationality is the hallmark of a false religion and so I say DOWN WITH THE GOD EMPEROR!" ... *Karen looks somewhat uncomfortable.* "Zin, That certainly is a strong reaction. We remind our viewers that this Broadcast station has no opinion on the truth or falsity of any single religion." "I am tired Karen. Tired of your human B*** S***." "Zin, I-" "We F***ed. Ok? And then you broke up with me!" "Zin, no, thats not-" "And the world is going mad, and Muun are being killed in the street for not bowing down to some God emperor, meanwhile, THE EMPEROR interfers with Muun affairs. YOU Karen, refuse to take a stand. I wouldn't be surprised if the EMPEROR approves of this religion. How else would you construe the increase in floral wreaths being placed at statues of Palpatine AND the current emperor?" "Zin, thats all we have time for." *chad interjected.* "Yeah, I bet. F*** you Chad." *Zin stands up and storms off the set throwing his earpeice.*
[Both Chad and Karen look shocked before cuts to commercials.]
