Description:
With the introduction of droid armies into the ranks of the Quarren Dominion, new ways of deploying these ground forces efficiently were developed by the engineers of Mon Calamari Shipyards in the services of the Sorcerors, coming up with potential solutions to increase the efficiency of massive droid forces. Going a different approach than Hoersch Kessel Drive Inc. during its redesign of the Lucrehulk freighter lines, the Quarren engineers would rather design a smaller ship type, which could act as a collective matrix rather than one independent ship giving commands.
The Nautilod-Class features two medium laser cannons, one atop and one on the shell's underbelly, while being piloted by two pilots, offering space for two additional passengers. The core section within the middle of the controllship features an improved Communications Array from where the ships are connected to nearby droid armies and fellow controllships of the same type, operating on a complex network. The more controllships are present within planetary atmosphere, the more droids can be controlled, as the network assigns located, uncontrolled Dominion droids automatically towards controllships within range.
Nautiloid-Class controllships furthermore feature a self-destruct mechanism on board in order to prevent the craft from falling into enemy hands, when it gets boarded.
