Something didn't feel right...
As the defense systems around the hidden Sith Temple, that was covered with the jungle vegetation of the planet, began to open up, blasting transports and escort fighters out of the sky, Malvus reached out in the Force to feel the surroundings. There was no organic life... there was nothing to influence with Battle Meditation nor the touch of the Dark Side. Yet, due to the deep meditation techniques, taught by the Sorcerers of Tund, Malvus could feel something lurking beneath where his transport flew. The presence was there for a moment, as if it were an animal, sniffing a foreign object, before retreating into its lair. Then, it vanished without a trace.
The cloud of shuttles began to expand, ensuring there were holes in their approach, to keep the turbolaser emplacements below from taking them out. Malvus sensed determination, fear and even death as they approached the surface. His eyes catching the fireball of the former transport where Lord Ifrit had been in. Obviously, such a sorcerer would survive as his eyes watched the Sith fly out of the fireball and smoke to land on the ground, ripping apart one of the emplacements. The remaining shuttles began to land as bombers flew in, slamming plasma bombs and torpedoes at where emplacements were active. The feeling of something off only increased when Malvus set his foot upon the surface of the world.
There was a silence all around them. The gun emplacements had gone completely silent and dark.
There was no defensive force set up, there were no enemy soldiers ready to deter them. The area between their landing and the Sith Temple was completely devoided of any hostile life. Not a trace was felt, not a single speck of life detected.
Malvus's attention turned away as his comlink beeped. The communication came from the commander of his vessel in orbit.
Lord Malvus, it seems our approach activated a systematic cloud of satellites, not detected by our original approach. It appears they were activated, however, when your shuttles passed through that field. Our sensors are detecting low-amounts of electromagnetic activity. Seems anything that passes by activates planetary defenses.
Change the mission of our fighter squadrons and begin a sweep of the atmosphere. I want those satellites destroyed within the vicinity of the Sith Temple. Reinforcements will be needed and I don't want additional loses.
Understood, my Lord.
Seems the defenses left by the Order of the Eye still worked. But where were the inhabitants, beyond just the Gamorreans, who certainly kept their distance. There should have been plenty of persons left behind by the NoE and ensured the continued existence and operations of the Sith Temple. The question was what had happened here?
Malvus's commanders begin setting up a forward headquarters while one of the regiments, that landed with the Sith, headed out with Lord Malvus and the others towards the Sith Temple. The first sight was the landing platforms, overgrown with vines and rust from apparent negligence. Ships had been left behind as well; starfighters and transports mostly. Companies and squads began to fan out, inspecting all areas of where the regiment moved through, getting closer and closer to the Sith Temple that loomed over them.
Malvus pauses at a series of crates, opening one up to reveal a cloud of dust and a series of unused weapons within. The Sith Lord then looks away from the crate and gazes upward at the Sith Temple ahead.
Last time I was here, this place was a hive of activity... now it's as dead as the planet of Ziost. Something isn't right here. Not even the Gamorreans could take them out and yet there is not a single sign of a struggle anywhere. No shimmering tensions of battle in the Force, no clues to anything. Its as if everything died at once.
The question also was what had been sensed below here before and where was it?

Vasari had barely caught the words Luxeria had said, and even so she was in no state to reply to them. The entry had been worse than Mustafar - and now someone was shooting at them. She could feel the lights of the other beings her mind was connected too go out in a blink one by one, sometimes groups at a time as the transports were gunned from the sky by the temples defenses. Vasari exhaled feeling her partner's mind working as if to prep a barrier should their shuttle come under fire. Vasari was about to link their minds tighter - taking full advantage of the Force Meld they had learned worked quite well with on another back on Mustafar, but before she could focus her thoughts away from the countless deaths and the rough landing Luxeria was gone. She opened her eyes and moved with purpose, only a second or two behind her partner her staff igniting and coming to bear as she shifted her stance lower - effortlessly sinking into a crouch as if she were half the size she was. Her blade held out before her in the typical form three defensive style protecting Luxeria's back ever as she circled looking for an enemy. Vasari felt the same sense of urgency, remembering the way they had stepped from the shuttle into the heart of battle on Mustafar, and yet now... there was nothing.
Standing and pacing away from Luxeria she deactivated her weapon and hung it back within the folds of her cloak. Her eyes closed as she reached out into the Living Force, her mind spreading further and further, rustling leaves, charred and enflamed trees from the falling transports, the dead and those living her mind was still connected to. She searched first for Ifrit, her mind lingering on the edge of his own embracing him within her aura of battle meditation even though he refused to allow her access to his more intimate thoughts. She reached out along the tentative link... one and ten connection at best... and spoke softly through the force.
<<Luxeria and I are making our way towards you... hopefully you're in one piece.>>
Looking back over her shoulder she watched as the unit of Malvus' men formed up around Luxeria. Always a more natural leader than herself she did not mind the thing. Linking herself with Luxeria's thoughts more closely she half whispered through the force at her partner... leaving her to issue the commands to the troops.
<<Ifrit is this way... I can feel him. We should join forces and move towards the Temple.>>
Vasari turned her head back towards the forest, something about this place wasn't right. She sensed something in the Living Force hiding from her. She reached further, deeper into the planet itself feeling for a sign, anything. She would not be taken unawares by creatures from the depths of this planet as she had on Mustafar. Some mistakes you only need to learn once. The furthest reaches of her mind touched upon a primitive and ragefilled thought and she focused upon it. Gamorreans. She was almost sure of it. Something had set them into a frenzy and a group of them were amassing, still some many miles from here, but still she thought to keep her thoughts near them as well. A few of them would provide little more than an annoyance, many could frustrate things quite further.

Luxeria looked around as she, too, took a few paces from Vasari. Outside of the rustling footsteps of the men forming up and the burning debris, all was quiet. Even the turbolasers had suddenly gone dark. What was happening? Luxeria didn't reach out to the lengths that Vasari had, only searching what may have laid waiting in the immediate area. It was more than enough. Let one focus on what was near, the other far. It allow for better focus in each region.
She noticed the men lining up behind her as these were the men under Malvus. Many of them had fought under Luxeria's command already in previous missions, and knew her to be more than capable of handling it when the time came. She heard Vasari's voice within her mind, but said nothing at first. She let her gaze shift off into the direction Vasari mentioned Ifrit to be before looking back towards the Temple. She pondered the thought before shaking her head.
<<Our target is the Temple. Any remaining forces will immediately head that direction. We'll do better in meeting up with others if we head for it. Lord Ifrit is more capable than us. He'll be fine. Besides, something tells me he'd find us before we'd find him.>>
She then turned back to the soldiers with them. They had gone quiet, knowing they were in enemy territory. By training, they were already holding a position, covering all directions and ready should anything happen. It was what made flowing into command so much easier. They knew what they were doing. They didn't need to be told basic directions. The only thing she needed to do was focus and give smart decisions. A couple times she had been questioned by soldiers, to which the higher ranked soldiers clarified her ill given orders and helped correct her for future encounters. They knew she was the newbie to command, but also knew she was in charge where Malvus declared it. And time had given her the experience needed to command well enough. "We head for the Temple. I want eyes sharp and guns up. I don't want anything taking this group by surprise. Move out."
She then turned back to Vasari and gave a nod before moving on, staying at the front of the soldiers.

There was a certain sense of relief that Ifrit felt when he finally located Vasari within the Force. Perhaps it was because he was starting to form a bond with his new potential apprentice. Or perhaps he did not wish to see such potential snuffed out so easily. He could not say for certain. Only time would tell for certain which it was. For now though, his thoughts were returned to the present silence that fell across the battlefield. Causing him to cock his head towards the air. Trying to listen for any faint far off sound he might have over looked.
But there was nothing. The defences had fallen silent as the invading forces had reached the ground and moved beyond whatever sensor net had activated them. Something which should have put him at ease. And yet, it did not. It merely made him question what had happened to the real defenders.
He lowered his head then, as he felt Vasari tentatively press upon mind. Her voice coming through the Force moments later. Causing him to smirk. Amused by the Zabrak’s concern for his safety. He reached back in response It will take a lot more than that to kill me... I will find you in the temple and we shall join forces there... Pulling back from the contact, Ifrit returned his attention to his immediate surroundings. His gaze shifting towards the imposing Sith temple. Wondering what it was that awaited them within the stronghold. He made his way on foot through the forest. Cutting a path through the brush with his Warglaives. His attention every so often drawn the wreckage of some vessel or squad that had been downed by the automated defences.
It was not much longer later, when his hoof touched upon stone as he came upon one of the many entrances into the Temple. Bringing him to a stop at the threshold as he extended his presence outward. Looking for some sign of conflict that might answer where its defenders had disappeared. Instead, he was only answered with silence. His grip upon his weapons tightening as he draw his wings in closer to his body. Trying to ready himself as he walked along the corridor into the Temple

Malvus comes to the doorway of the Sith Temple, overgrown with the jungle of Gamorr. His soldiers kept their formations, keeping an eye above and around them for any possible hostiles. The Sith Lord examines the doorway's integrity, finding no signs of battle or forced entry. He then steps forward, extended both of his hands. Soon a metallic groan was heard as the massive doorway to the complex was slowly forced open through a twist of the Dark Side. Gears, frames, sheets of metal, and all kinds of metallic pieces in the doorway screeched and groaned at the pressure set on it by the Force usage of the Jen'ari. When it was opened wide enough for a sizable passage, Malvus released his grip.
Doorway integrity won't matter... we are gonna have to replace a lot of the outdated technology here anyways.
From there, the Sith would enter first, heading into the dimly-lit lobby of the Sith Temple. The moment his person entered the forced passageway, his nostrils picked up a number of scents... decaying flesh of various degrees. Once the first part of their party entered, flashlights on their helmets revealed small mounds of dead soldiers, piled up behind the doorway. Malvus noticed reddish marks on the formerly closed entryway. The NoE Remnants tried to claw their way out of this place, but it refused to let them depart. Something kept them from leaving and it wasn't their own design.
The Sith looks down at one of the corpses before him, carefully examining the condition of it. There were evident markings of some struggle, but from what he could tell, the remnant soldiers fought each other to get out. Malvus looks up as helmets look around the lobby, which was devoided of every other activity. He turns his gaze to Vasari, Luxeria, and Ifrit.
We will have to split up and begin securing the Temple for the Blackguard. Power will need to be restored and data accounted for. Keep an eye out though... whatever caused this might still be around.

Luxeria continued on, leading the men towards the temple with Vasari at her side. But something was starting to bother her. Something felt off about this place. But she felt nothing within the immediate area outside of the others either at the temple or making their approach. From what she could tell, Vasari couldn't feel anything further out. That only made the situation more unsettling and as they grew closer to the temple, that sensation only seem to grow.
Forcing it to the back of her mind, she focused herself, keeping her composure and confidence. They had finally arrived at the temple with Malvus and the rest of the troops already there. At that point, the troops with her and Vasari began moving into the mix with the rest of the soldiers by her command. Once they entered, the groups would undoubtedly split up again and she wanted to ensure all the groups were properly reformed as best they could.
Luxeria stayed back, watching her master from a distance as he interacted with some of the higher ranks soldiers. It was only when he made his way to the door that she approached, ready to enter when they opened. She said nothing as he spoke, only watched as he opened the doors, allowing them access. She turned back to Vasari for a moment before heading inside. Immediately, she felt the stink of decaying flesh fill her nose. She worked to keep herself from coughing much less vomiting. Not as fresh of death as it could have been, it still happened not too long ago. Otherwise the bodies would have decayed fully to the bones and left no smell. Rubbing her nose and trying in a futile attempt to wave the smell off, she progressed further, seeing all that Malvus was. She could only wonder what had caused this to happen. By what was gathered, nothing broke in and there was no fighting. The only amount of struggle was what seemed to be inflicted with each other. She began letting her senses run out through the area, trying to find something that lingered, yet was met by only the same uneasy feeling.
As she suspected, they would be splitting up. There were at least nine Sith present, which would leave nine groups. At this point, she knew her and Vasari would need to split up to ensure the most ground was covered. She gave Malvus a nod, before turning her gaze to Vasari. "Think you can handle your own group?" Her words were but a whisper to her friend. She didn't wish to stir up any uncertainty in anyone about what Vasari could or couldn't do.

The Icarus touches down near the temple, roughly half a kilometer from the entrance. The jungle would hide it well, and Kaan had been careful to mask his own presence long before they touched down. He hoped, at best, that any watching would assume the vessel was merely a smuggler seeking berth. It would buy him the time he needed to find out what the hell was going on here. He was greatly concerned...he truly hoped that whoever these people were that they hadn't been stupid enough to force their way into the temple. He doubted the automated defenses still worked after this time, but in truth they were little more than show. The Temple needed no defenses...not with what dwelt in its depths. The Order liked to say that it was theirs, that they'd built it...but it was far older than they. He shakes himself out of his thoughts, and turns to the three with him, who are all getting their gear together.
IC: "It...may not be wise for you three to accompany me. What we will face there is not something most would willingly face. I can't guarantee that you'll come back. And even if you do, you will not be the same you person you are now. This place...changes sentients. What resides within made the Order what it was. I do not speak lightly or with hyperbole when I tell you that the source of our power lies beneath that temple. If it has been disturbed..." *he shakes his head*
The three soldiers look at each other, and then back to the Sith Lord, each of them standing a little taller. Alpha takes a step forward, and gives a curt salute.
Alpha: :: We're your men, sir. We followed you onto Barab. We fought and died with you, and you saved us from that hell hole. The three of us discussed it on the way down, sir. We're, all of us, men out of time. We choose to follow you again. ::
IC: *smiles, but ruefully shakes his head* "Your loyalty is admirable...I only hope you truly realize what it is you're buying with it. But enough. Together we'll go, then."
The small group finishes readying themselves and sets out. Kaan leaves specific instructions with the AI aboard the Icarus to depart the surface if it doesn't receive a signal from him every hour, then heads for the temple. The jungle had reclaimed much of what had once been the road between the temple and the great City of the Eye. It was unnerving...jarring, even. For him to see what it had been reduced to was disheartening. This place had been his home, and now he felt a complete stranger on its surface. He wondered again what fate had befallen his brothers. Perhaps he would find them again...perhaps not. Not that it mattered. Even if he regained all that he had ever possessed, all his power and influence, it would not be as it was again. For all intents and purposes...the Order of the Eye was dead, and he was a relic. He feels a twinge of pain at this realization, but continued onward, stopped suddenly by Alpha putting a hand on his shoulder. He turned to face the soldier, who in response nodded his head in front of them. Kaan looked, and saw the Temple through the trees. He smiled for a brief instant, lost in memories of the place, and then noticed why his men had stopped. Even from here, he could see it. His smile faded, his face paling slightly.
IC: "By the Darkness....those fools!"
The gates of the Temple were open. Kaan turns to his men.
IC: "Well....this day just got interesting. *he draws his lightsaber from his belt but does not yet ignite it, and the three soldiers bring their blasters to bear*
Without a word, the four continue towards the Temple.

Vasari's mind was still far afield when Luxeria had finally led them back to the formation ground of Malvus' army. She could feel more the hear the murmer of the soldiers and the commands being given, the largest feeling was that of Malvus when he finally spoke, giving light to his intent once again to take back the temple. From the temple, nothing... from the surroundings, even little else. There was something in there, there was something wrong with this place. A force this large didn't land on a planet inhabited by one of the most territorial races in the galaxy without some show of contest, force, and claim of territory. Even then the Force lingered around the Temple. She could feel the darkness in this place sure... but she felt the need to push further. Her mind lingered back afield, sensing the masse of Gamorean's building up - still miles away, but their forces were growing... not just growing, marshaling - preparing for a fight. This was not unlike them, but this sort of preparation meant they were getting ready for this fight long before they got here. For this Species this sort of preparation usually only meant a clan war, or something of the like.
Vasari was brought from her revere by the soft voice of her partner, and without missing a moment the Zabrak turned her head towards her and nodded - A command didn't bother her - she knew the mission and knew the goal. It was simple enough in theory."That wont be a problem."Vasari whispered back looking back over her shoulder, that feeling in her mind growing ever stronger. She wasn't afraid of these primitive pigs, but she got the feeling something was behind their gathering today of all days. She split her mind into two, returning to the present while keeping her thoughts on the large group of warriors to the south. She blinked several times before her waking mind felt another presence, a ship landing not that far from here, a stronger presence than most assembled, but not all by far. ~Another player... or simply late to the party?~ her thoughts passed again as she stood next to Luxeria awaiting orders, her eyes scanning passively for Ifrit.

Luxeria gave a smirk at Vasari's remark. The little bit of time on Mustafar had built up her confidence enough to lead. She tapped her right side temple, a clear enough idea to stay in contact with the Force, to stay connected. Even with some distance, they'd still feel each other within their minds. It wouldn't be as effective since they weren't fighting side by side, but it would be enough to help out with whatever they faced.
She, as well, turned at the sudden arrival of another presence. But it was there for only a few moments before disappearing. Either it was something around them stirring or someone had arrived, only to mask their presence from detection. Whatever the case, she could only hope that it didn't bode ill against them.

Without a word, the four continue towards the Temple. The sounds of blasters were heard suddenly from within the plaza before the Sith Temple and all around Kaan's group. A contingent of soldiers had been left outside, by orders of Lord Malvus, to search the outside of the complex. A pair of snipers had seen the approach of the people, causing them to move into position as the entire contingent was alerted. At first, only a handful of personnel was seen, blasters leveled after they had gone behind cover. Yet, in short time, it was evident that more soldiers were arriving, the presence of a full company was seen in short order.
One of the officers, decorated with an orange band on his shoulder, keys his helmet.Lord Malvus, intruders have been detected behind at the Temple entrance. I repeat intruders detected.Inside...Before further orders could be taken, Malvus heard his comlink go off. The Sith Lord keys it, listening to the message being played back to him. It was definitely the designated commander from outside. His senses had heightened to the emotions and alertness of his soldiers outside of the Temple.Lord Malvus, intruders have been detected behind at the Temple entrance. I repeat intruders detected.Lieutanent, I will order the rearguard to support you. Ifrit and Vasari, hold our position here. Luxeria on me!Malvus draws his lightsaber and pushes through his soldiers as the rear section of their party reforms and begins to advance back towards the entrance. A line of them, on either side of the entryway, forms up, letting a segment issue forth, blasters leveled and primed for combat. They break outside and immediately move to the flanks, keeping their weapons aimed at the individuals outside. Malvus comes forth shortly after a section of the rearguard takes up their positions. The Sith Lord looks at the intruders present before noticing the central figure among them.Troopers, stand down!By his order, his soldiers lower their rifles in unison. Malvus's gaze trained right on Kaan.Seems I got here before you did, Kaan. Did you get lost along the way somehow?Kaan, one of the Four Lords of Chaos of the New Order of the Eye. And a Sith who Malvus had sent to bring Pzob under the control of the defunct One Sith. The man had vanished shortly after his departure and no word was heard back. No even the fleet and troops sent returned either. Kaan had a lot of answers to give, that was for certain.

Luxeria turned at the sudden flux of emotion back outside the temple as she felt the sudden movement of the troopers. It was a split moment after Malvus had received his message. So she had felt something earlier and it decided to show itself.
Her attention was quickly redirected to her master as he gave word to follow. Only a quick nod was given as she fell into step behind him, her own saber taking its place in her hand. Not even making it far into the Temple and they were already engaged in combat. It made her wonder what else would come their way.
But it all seemed to be a misunderstanding of some sort as Malvus called off the troopers once he had clear view of the intruders. Standing ready, her unignited lightsaber still in hand, she moved up, just behind and to the right of her master. When the name was spoken, she remembered it from their briefing in orbit. A member of the Order of the Eye, one who once resides here and, clearly, a friend. While she remained on guard, she let herself relax as the two spoke.

Ifrit felt like he had been wandering the hallways for quite some time. His senses reaching out and absorbing everything he dared let through his filter. Empty hallways. Bodies strewn everywhere. Unused weapons. It was all so out of place. Which was why it had felt like it had taken much longer than it actually did for him to manage to arrive to the hangar bay through which Malvus and his men had made their entrance.
But where they were on ground level. Ifrit had managed to ascend a level or two and was walking across a catwalk when Malvus gave the Order for him and Vasari to hold the position here. As Malvus took his leave with his apprentice, Ifrit vaulted over the railing. His outstretched wings slowing his short descent before landing a few feet away from Vasari.
All too aware that the Zabrak’s thoughts were still upon him. He motioned to one of the soldiers then, before handing the soldier his WarGlaives. With no enemies nearby that he might need such physical weapons against. It was far more prudent for Ifrit to free up the use of his hands. Ifrit crossed his arms as he strode closer to Vasari. Waiting until Malvus was completely out of sight before speaking Does he honestly believe we will just sit here till he comes back? I suppose since these men are under your command, that decision is entirely up to you... So what do you think? I’m curious to find out just what it was, that all these dead bodies were trying to run away from...

Vasari watched as the Master and Apprentice departed, moving towards the unknown player she had sensed approaching from the opposite end of the Temple. The soldiers left under her command quickly set up a perimeter and posted look outs at all the entrances and exits to the building others were being sorted into search teams which where assembling near the center of the room. Ignoring the bodies for more pressing concerns she was half way towards two of these teams when Lord Ifrit descended from the catwalks to join her. His thoughts seemed obvious, his words were seemingly a test and now his hands stood dangerously empty. Vasari remembered what Luxeria had all but willed to her before leaving and without a seconds thought grabbed on perhaps a little too tightly to her partners presence within her mind, focusing before pointedly ignoring Ifrit and speaking to the head of each search team grouped before her.
”I’ve linked myself with both of you, I want power restored to this section of the Temple only, if there is something waiting inside we don’t want to alert it beyond need, be ready to restore full power to the Temple if the need arises. Team two... secure the control tower, and see what you can do about the Data retrieval Malvus spoke of. If you find anything of note... just... think it, I’ll hear you. Dismissed.”
~I talk too much~ Vasari chided herself as the troopers departed, each group to their purpose. Before Vasari’s eyes turned at last back to Ifrit she spared a glance out the bay doors off towards the south for a moment, an expression as if she was expecting something at any moment. When her eyes finally came back to Ifrit’s blindfold she lifted her shoulders in a delicate shrug.
”There may be more to be learned here...”
Vasari moved past him with a slow even stride, a part of her knowing the movement accented her features quite well beneath the folds of the cloak Vasari had come to assume hid nothing from Ifrit. Moving to kneel next to one of the corpses she reached out and touched her gloved fingertips to the skulls eye sockets. Murmuring a quick binding in her head she linked herself with the living force and a green mist slipped from her fingertips into the skull. Her eyes went shadowy for a moment and she looked up, looking at the hanger, a feeling of dread... horror... flooding through her. The need to escape, at any cost a mortal fear for her life as she clawed scrapped fought against the very walls for a way out. She forced herself past these emotions, giving into that morbid curiosity to see what pursued her and forced herself to turn and look. Her vision grew hazy she thought she saw something... but the moment past and the binding was broken, leaving her shivering only slightly as the yellow flame in her eyes returned and she withdrew her hand from the corpse whose last vision she had pulled from the Force. Yet instead of answers, only more questions presented themselves.
”This fellow was running... from that way...”She pointed towards a corridor that would lead them towards the center of the Temple but if the memory she had glimpsed was accurate, beneath the temple as well.”You heard him order the temple’s exploration first... same as I.”Vasari said gently with a wink and stood without waiting for permission or even acceptance and stalked off towards the corridor, following the corpses path back towards its origin.

The ambush by the snipers is flawlessly executed. Twin blaster bolts stab toward Kaan and his soldiers as they approach the temple in perfect unison...yet it would take far more than that to stop this particular Sith Lord. Without even activating his lightsaber, Kaan redirects the incoming fire with a lazy flick of his wrist, the bolts suddenly curving at impossible angles to impact the ground on either side of him. With a look of utter disdain, Kaan focuses on one of the two snipers. With a sharp cry, the man flies off his feet, spinning through the air before coming to a stop before the SIth. Kaan raises an eyebrow at the man floating before him.
IC: ".....that wasn't very polite of you." he regards the trooper's uniform and armor, studying the emblems intently "Who are you? Whom do you serve?"
To his credit, the sniper sets his jaw and clenches his teeth, a look of sheer defiance in his eyes. Kaan shrugs and reaches out with the Force, probing the man's mental defenses. He stops short when he notices the others gathering the courtyard, in particular the taller sentient that he recognizes: Malvus. Good. He thought he had sensed him in orbit. At least there was someone here with sense. He walks past the sniper, who drops to the ground as the force holding him there suddenly vanishes. He looks confused, apparently having expected not to survive. Kaan crosses through the courtyard, seemingly oblivious to the other soldiers watching him. He climbs the stairs to the entrance of the temple and stands before Malvus, inclining his head slightly. He glances at the woman standing next to him, her lightsaber ignited, but ignores her almost instantly.
IC: "Malvus. I'm sure you're expecting answers as to my...delay. It's really an interesting story, but I'm afraid answers will have to wait. I'm just relieved that I reached you before you entered the temple." after a moment of silence, Kaan leans slightly forward "You haven't entered the temple yet, yes?" he glances worriedly toward the open entrance

Malvus glances behind him, looking at where the Sith had come from. His gaze turning back to Kaan.
We have already entered, Kaan. But something else got to your former soldiers before us.
The Sith Lord raises his hand slightly to Luxeria, indicating that she could relax now. He waves his hand to the commanding officer of the external company who nods affirmatively. The soldiers all begin to fall back and return to their original mission. Malvus then turns and proceeds back to the Sith Temple with the rear guard with the internal search party. As they stand at the entryway of the forced open Sith Temple, Malvus would glance back at Kaan.
Watch the smell... it's pretty bad in the entryway.
Malvus was seen returning to the rest of the forces, as well as Ifrit and Vasaria, with a new member in two and a few other soldiers in different uniforms. As the rearguard takes up its positions, Malvus gestures to the bodies that were laid out all over the floor with the greatest mounds by the formerly closed entryway. He motions to Ifrit and Vasaria, nodding behind him at Kaan.
Seems we have a bit of luck. This man right here is Lord Kaan, one of the Four Lords of Chaos for the New Order of the Eye. Long ago, I sent him on a mission to claim this place after he declared the Order's disbandment. He was three years late to the party.
Malvus then turns back to Kaan.
Question is, Kaan, do you know what could have caused this?
It was certainly some secret of the NoE. But with them entirely disbanded, there was nothing to hide.

Luxeria replaces her saber as Malvus motioned for her to relax. While what they spoke of didn’t make much sense to her, she ignored it and followed her master. A mission that had been given to take this place for Malvus’s purposes three years prior, shortly after her apprenticeship started under him. Being unaware of his existence, though, suggested it was during the mission on Alzoc III. However, the point was neither here nor there. He was an ally and that was all that mattered at the moment. And with one who knew this place would grant them a greater advantage should anything be waiting.
She remained silent as they entered the temple again. She was curious to the answer Malvus asked about what could have caused such large amounts of death with such little effort.

Vasari was correct to believe that her cloak hid nothing from his all seeing gaze. Her body laid bare to him as she slowly strode past him towards one of the bodies. Ifrit turned slightly to watch as she touched the skull and seemed to relieve the memories of who ever it belonged to. It was a skill he had read about, but had yet to ever practice himself. Though, if his study was right, it would not do him much good. It was one of those powers that you had to be born with. As she stood hunched over, Ifrit moved closer. Stopping just behind her as she finally came out of her trance.
He placed his clawed hand upon her shoulder to help calm her shivers. Death was a powerful event. It was filled with so many emotions colliding all at once as someone felt their very essence escape them. It was why the Jedi often avoided reliving another's death. Lest they fall to the Dark Side. For those that lived in it. It was still a dangerous thing to do. He removed his hand as Vasari stood up then. Seeming to have gathered herself back together. Ifrit nodded as she pointed toward a corridor That he did... Ladies first... He started to follow her then, when Malvus returned. Causing him to place his hand upon Vasari's shoulder once more. This time to stop her and direct her attention to the new arrival. His gaze already upon the former Lord of the NoE before he even started to turn back around. There was something about this man's sudden arrival that just seemed to be far too coincidental. And if there was anything he had learned from studying the Force. There was no such thing as coincidence. He opened the barrier to his mind just a little, allowing Vasari slightly further in Three years late for a mission Malvus sent him on? or perhaps he was carefully biding his time. Waiting to set a trap... Ifrit inclined his head in greeting to Lord Kaan. Even if he didn't trust the man, it was better to give the impression that he did Lord Kaan...

Concern is etched on the Sith Lord's face when Malvus tells him they've already entered. That...was not the best news. Not with what was in there. The question was...how much to tell? Part of him still felt uncomfortable with outsiders in his home to begin with. But did it matter? If he was truly going to throw his lot in with Malvus, wouldn't that make this a first act with new allies? He scowls as he steps into the gateway, looking down at the corpses. He forces the twinge of guilt out of his mind, reminding himself again that the NoE was gone. His brothers were gone. There was only him, and he had to survive now. He composes his thoughts, and turns back to Malvus.
IC: "I think I might, at that. This Temple...this place. It was more than my home...than my order's home. As far as everyone was concerned, we built it. Raised the stones from the earth and formed it. It suited us to let others think that, but the truth as usual is more complicated. This temple is ancient...our archaeologists think perhaps as old as the ancient Sith Empire. Some far-flung outpost. The structure beneath this one was already here when we came to Pzob, and I did the rest. he points past the two newcomers, deeper into the interior Under the catacombs is a powerful nexus of Dark Side energy. It's why I chose to restore the temple here, and why its original builders chose to build it here in the first place. When connected to it, we could do unimaginable things. Wonderful, and terrible things. It was the source of our power, and that which fueled my order's empire. But it is more than simply a source of power. It is alive. It feeds as well as empowers. I fear that without my order's regular sacrifices, the ancient Sith spirits who dwell here have become ravenous...wild. If we enter, we will most certainly be in a fight for more than our lives. Did you notice something...odd...about these 'corpses'? he places heavy emphasis on the last word
He kneels next to one of the bodies. He rolls it over to its back, and points, telling them to look closely. The body's chest rises and falls with regular breathing...even with the body ripped open, blood spattered on the walls and floor around it...it is most decidedly not dead. Kaan looks up at the others, a grim smile on his face.
IC: "And yet, if you were to try and sense this man's life, you would find none. His soul, his essence, is gone. Ripped from his body by the darkness within this place. And these few morsels he motions to the piles of bodies are nothing to the horrors that now rule here, and not enough to satiate them by far. But us? We're the biggest feast they've seen in a long time. They will almost certainly try to devour us, even I who walked these corridors and called this place 'home'. You want to cleanse this place? Then we must destroy that which lies beneath. So..."
He stands, and walks into the entrance hall of the temple. With a snap-hiss, the walls around him are bathed in crimson light as his saber ignites, the Barab ore within the hilt causing the blade to pulse and burn. Kaan turns back to them, a twisted smile of utter glee now on his face.
IC: "Shall we begin?"

Vasari wouldn't have turned away from her course if Ifrit hadn't all but pulled her back, something was drawing her away and even under his somewhat gentle and more guiding touch her spirit was still being called towards the corridor, towards the darkness that awaited beneath the temple. She did not know what it was, but it was powerful, and its hold over this place was absolute. She tilted her head and almost growled in frustration at being pulled away, but she followed obediently - she wasn't calling the shots here. Turning towards the new arrival she recognized him at once. Not because of the feeling she got upon his arrival, or because she had ever seen him before in her life - but from the memories of the soul she had linked with a moment before - the skill was not tested, in point of fact she was surprised she had been able to pull it off, only having done so once before, back on Mustafar - but then she had believed it was simply an illusion put on by the abomination they had fought below Vader's Castle. Her thoughts were distracted by the sound of Ifrit's voice in her head and the feeling of herself slipping a little closer to him - she realized at once it was his mind opening slightly to her continued waiting presence.
<<I dont believe so... the men that died here knew him, he was supposed to be here... had he been, he may well have died with them.>>
She spared a moment as Kaan spoke to glance over at Luxeria, searching for any sign in her mind or body language to gain her perspective on the situation. Kaan himself informed them of the brief history of the place, his mention of a dark nexus on this planet was nothing new to her, she had read about such... however briefly, during the trip here. Her time for research was short however so she paid close attention to the brief history lesson wondering how much of it was fact, and how much was his own delusion. It wasn't the first time she had experienced an angry Sith spirit or two... but from the way that he spoke. Something brought a smirk to her lips as she turned her head back to the corridor. She was right about the location - not that she doubted herself.
The bodies... how could she have missed it. Her eyes turned in brief shock back to the one she had linked with."That's why it was so easy..."She whispered mostly to herself, in fact she was sure no one but Ifrit would have heard her unless they were really paying attention. From that moment she tuned out everything that Kaan was saying, her eyes locked on the body. Connecting to a memory was easy if the mind still functioned... connecting to the ghost of a spirit... the living force was capable of such things - as she had done one Mustafar to the dead explorers there, but it had taken more out of her, and left her even more shaken than she was earlier. The harvesting did not 'kill' the host body. But it was just a vessel now... a vessel that could be filled. Her eyes flared for a moment as she considered the Alchemaic ramifications of such a thing. She made no pause to hide her thoughts or her intrigue into the subject but forced herself to remain focused, coming back to the conversation pretty close to the end of Kaan's little pep talk. Another Sith spirit wanted her dead... joy.

As with Vasari and Ifrit, Luxeria also felt suspicion over Kaan’s delay. To be three years off of completing a mission was beyond odd. What was he doing all this time? But she was also a bit more trusting than the others, simply because Malvus trusted him. If he tried anything, he’d be met with his end. There were nine Sith in total along with a large force of soldiers compared to Kaan and his three. Despite their skill and this being his home, the odds were against him.
She listened further as he explained what was here. It was good knowledge to have. Drawing on the dark energies at Mustafar caused her to be lost in illusions due to the entity connected to it. This was far more dangerous, though. Drawing on that dark power could cost her so much more. She’d have to utilize her own power for now. It also made her wonder how they’d fight spirits. She had never done so before, though was confident the others did, or at least knew what to do. It made her glad for the connection she and Vasari shared. It would be her guide in this endeavor.
