Judging by the state of the hangar, it seemed like this station had been in lockdown for some time, though he had no way of knowing how long. In any case, they were inside and now it was time to see what the hell had happened here. With each of his squad at the ready, save for Lloyd who was outside with Tanara, he readied his rifle and led his squad into the hangar. Lloyd rejoined the squad as they entered and Hans cast his eyes around the hangar."All right. We're going in weapons hot and assuming hostiles within. Galen, I want you to hang back and watch our six. Make sure no one sneaks up on us. Everyone else, stick close and keep your eyes peeled."
The Bothan nodded, hoisting his rifle and moved to the back of the group. Once they were in formation, Hans turned to Krayton, lowering his voice a little and smirking."Hope your shot's improved since your last round in the shooting range."

The pilot nodded, locking and loading, the short whine from his carbine signaling its readiness.
I promise I won't shoot you in the foot, Hans.
Taking up the groups' formation, Krayton fell in, behind Hans and to his four o'clock. True, he was more used to being in the air than on the ground, but it was just a question of using other parts of his training, calling up ground tactics from memory. True, next to Hans' core group, he was rusty, but Kay wasn't uneasy. He'd do his part, and be glad of the change of pace. He would be an asset to the group, and Hans knew his training: qualified medic, a decent slicer and mechanic. Not the worlds best marksman. Nobody wins 'em all.

The facility was dark, with only emergency lighting and anything they brought with them to illuminate their path and potential threats. Like many Organization facilities the defenses are automated and hidden away from potential threats, of course it could be assumed that they existed and were functioning as they would not appear on any schematics, a known security measure by high level members of the Organization. There were several things that may stand out once they were outside the hangar, none of which were likely give an overly comforting sense of security, not the least of which was the eerie silence that filled the halls. The base was freezing throughout, the walls were covered with ice and the ceilings had large icicles hanging from them, some even large enough to connect from the ceiling to the ground. The hallways reeked of fear, perhaps the force sensitive members of the group might have a looming sense of dread come over them as they exited the hangar bay.
There are only two ways out of the hangar on the main level, the first of which was the hangar doors, the other was though a control center on the far side of the hangar. The standard security station was abandoned but the machines were still minimally operational.

Isabelle had sat silently in the cockpit of the A-A5 until they reached the base as the others chattered amongst one another, her focus was on her mission and everything else was a distraction at that particular moment. The team knew what they were doing without her input, that is why they were chosen to be here. And so as questions came they simply went unanswered. She did however meet glances and return nods when necessary, if only to show that she wasn't completely ignoring them.
When the A-A5 stopped in the hangar Isabelle let everyone file out before her, opting to stay in the back of the group. She observed their formation and the looked around the hangar to assess the situation, you couldn't see much because it was dark but she did notice a catwalk topside.
"Keep an eye out for panels that could be hiding emergency defense systems. If this place is compromised then we should assume that the defense network is too."
She spoke loudly enough for those near her to hear, but she didn't want to raise her voice too much because there was no telling who else might be watching or listening in the dark.
Of course the dark is perfect for me, I'll be pretty much invisible to anything in my path. Now to just slip away.
She slipped on her flash goggles and then activated her baragwin stealth unit making her invisible to the group. With the flash goggles on the room almost instantly became illuminated for her and she looked around the room searching for anyone who might be hiding in the dark, but she saw no one. She then walked to the nearest wall and began to silently climb up to the catwalk. The walls were smooth, but cold and that made it difficult for the frictiongrip to handle the job alone, so she activated her power piton magnetic system, it did make some slight noises, but nothing so loud as to draw a lot of attention or give away her position.
Once she reached the catwalk she deactivated the power piton then made her way to the nearest ventilation unit and removed the cover and then walked on. Since no one could see her it would at least serve as a nice diversion to anyone that might be watching. As she reached the end of the catwalk she waited silently and watched for the group to move on.

Kay turned his head in the direction of Isabelle's voice, to acknowledge, or ask for a vector, a checkpoint or their next break from radio silence, but she was gone. Rolling his eyes, the pilot refocussed his attention of the steady gloom permeating the hangar.
Figures.
Snapping the IR filter onto the under-barrel light on his carbine, the pilot activates the beam and shines it slowly around the hangar. Control centre was about a hundred paces to their eleven o'clock. Shooting Hans a low whistle, he indicated the control room and the adjacent security station, and motioned that the party should move out in that direction. Receiving a nod of affirmation from the group leader, Hans took a moment to relay marching orders silently to the assembled troops, and they started out, spearhead formation with Hans at the fore.
Kay found himself tail-end charlie on the left side, with Linus (or was it Lloyd?) in front of him, and Tanara ahead of the twin. On the other side were Marisa (directly behind Hans) Galen, and the other twin. Kay took a knee and waited the few seconds before he moved out, to keep a decent distance between himself and the next in line. Just before he followed, he pressed a series of keys on his comm unit, and the external lights on the A-A5 went out. All was darkness, save the lights on various weapons.
Kay moved out, sweeping left to right, always keeping the twin in sight, covered in case of any potential trouble.

Hans readied his weapon, staying at the rear of the formation as they started to move forwards. The control station wasn't too far away and there appeared to be no one inside, at least from what he could tell. There was no other sounds besides the footsteps of the group as they moved towards the hangar's control center. If anything was still operational, maybe Tanara or Galen could get it working again. They had to start somewhere to figure out what had happened here.

As soon as the tank passed through the large bay door, the Twi'lek girl carefully allowed the door to slide shut, plunging the hangar into darkness once again. Now that they were inside, she activated her flashlight and grouped up with the others, taking her place in the formation. Her mind kept trying to replay the events from her last trip to Hoth, something that she unfortunately couldn't afford to do, although it was proving to be difficult to control. The research station was tainted with the Dark Side of the Force, and filled with a sense of fear and dread. She knew most, if not all, of her companions couldn't feel exactly what she did, and certainly not to the degree she could. Ever since the incident with the Force Demon, that caused her amnesia, she was extremely sensitive to the presence of the Dark Side. While it didn't permeate through the research station like it had in the Order of the Flame's base, there was enough of a presence to make Tanara slightly nauseous.
Doing her best to ignore her discomfort, she keep her focus following Hans to the control center of the hangar bay. Hopefully something there was still operational, even with the obvious power loss and frozen condition. Once they were inside the room, she briefly noted Hans giving the silent order to spread out and cover the exits, but didn't pay much attention to the rest of the team as she quickly started testing the various consoles. Most of them were either completely powerless, or too frozen to operate. Eventually, she managed to find one that was still operational.
=Tanara= "Here we go...let's see what we've got to work with..."
Working as quick as she could, the Twi'lek girl accessed every byte of information the console had access to, which sadly, wasn't much. But she did have access to some of the security camera feeds.
=Tanara= "Okay, I've got access to some security footage. Any guesses on what they're gonna show?"
She waited for the others to gather around the console, then activated the footage.

A list of recordings populate the screen as Tanara pulls up the security footage, at the bottom of the list there are three dated at the time of the black out. Upon opening the first on a holo-recording of four men arrears in the center of the room
Security File 979 Captain Cameron Preston "Black, you and your men are taking this post until Faust is apprehended. No one in, no one out. We detected an outgoing transmission shortly after his escape and we don't know to whom it was sent. Expect hostile forces until told otherwise."
The three men salute the captain, he returns their salute, and walks out of the room and appears to head right before the recording cuts out.
As the second recording is opened one of the men is standing guard at the door, another is leaning against the wall smoking, and the third, Corporal Black, is sitting in a chair near the console
Security File 980 Soldier 1 "Look, all I'm sayin' is that we haven't heard squat from anyone in over two hours. Maybe something happened, maybe something didn't, but I think we should at least go check on it."
Corporal Ian Black "No, we sit tight and follow orders, if they needed us they would have called us. Besides, what happens if we leave and someone attacks from outside huh? Or if we need to evacuate? This hangar is the only way in or out on this side of the facility and if we lose this position we might -- "
Suddenly Corporal Black shifts his attention to the inside door, grabbing his weapon in the process. He is alert, ready to fight, but the look on his face might even be distinctly scared. There was a noise just before he turned, however it was mostly inaudible on the recording.
Soldier 1 "What was--"
Private Ian Black "Shhh..." He listened for sounds once again, this time jumping to action as the others quaked. In a hushed voice, barely picked up by the cameras he said, "Seal this door. Only open it for me or the Captain. If anyone else comes by direct them down the hall to the mess and tell them to lock themselves inside the pantry." And with that he clinched his weapon tightly and walked out the door, turning right as well
Soldier 1 "Ian..." He said likewise in a hushed voice "Ian!..." Realizing that there was no stopping Black, the man walked back inside and began sealing the door as the recording cut off
Security file 981 Guard 1 "Do you think he's dead?" The somber tone was only met with a nonchalant shrug by the second soldier, to which the first openly mocked with a few exaggerated shrugs of his own "Can't you talk? I'm kinda freakin' out here and you're sitting there with your head up your exhaust port. We could be the last people alive on this station you know and I for one say that we should try our luck flying out of here before whatever might be out there comes and finds us in here." The second guard was about to say something when the door somehow suddenly opened and the men quickly aimed their weapons, waiting for whatever was outside to come in. After a few moments of silence the men looked at each other and walked hesitantly toward the door and peered out. Presumably seeing nothing they continued to walk out and to the right, one covering the front, one the rear.
No further recordings were found, if the team were to investigate further they would find the panel of the door was shorted out as was the security camera covering this room, whatever did this was either very tech savvy or was very good at being able to slip by undetected

Kay fidgeted at the back of the group, content to look over Linus' shoulder at the grainy, low-def recording. Even with the poor quality, you could see the fear stitched on the Corporal's face. He checked the load in his rifle, and thought to himself that if the luxury of time wasn't a concern, he'd run the recording through several filters to try and identify the noise in the second recording which seemed to be the source of the Corporal's fright. But even the best slicer would take hours cooking that signal to get anything remotely audible or identifiable out of this sec cam footage.
It was enough to know they had something formidable opposing them, and odds in their opponents' favor.
The third reel finished playing, and Kay nodded solemnly, accepting of whatever fate had in store. He was here, they had a job to do. Pointing back out the door with the tac light on his A-280, he kept his voice at a close-quarters volume.
The sec guards on the footage were headed right, out this door. Panel's shorted out here. Tee -- can you call up a floorplan of this ice-cube from that terminal? Or is the cam footage the only help we're getting?

The Twi'lek girl scowled at the security footage, as it barely told them anything about what they were up against. She had been hoping for at least some detail explaining the nature of this place, but it was not to be. Without replying right away to Krayton, she quickly scoured through the rest of the information accessible on the console, not that there was much left. Although there was no evidence of tampering, that she could see anyway, it seemed like someone deliberately wiped the drives clean. Fortunately, even if that was the case, there was still an accessible floor plan, for this wing of the facility anyway.
=Tanara= "I've found a floor plan for this wing, not much to go on though."
She quickly copied the plans onto multiple datapads and handed them out to everyone, then powered down the terminal. There was nothing left on it that would help them, and leaving it powered up would immediately give away that they had been using it.

Hans and his team each took a moment to examine the floor plans, and though this wasn't much information, having some idea of where they were going was better than none at all. Nothing was worse than going into a dangerous situation totally blind. The next step seemed like it would be to head deeper into the facility to try and piece together what had happened. But they would have to be careful..."At least we'll have some idea of where we're going now."
Linus piped up from where he had been standing beside Krayton."So does that mean we can stop standing around here and actually do something?"
Beside Linus, Lloyd scowled and nudged his brother."Pipe down, would you? We can't just rush in with guns blazing."
Hans rolled his eyes, but didn't raise his voice."Can it. We're going in, but we'll do it carefully."The solider turned to Krayton."What do you think? Shall we head in and see if we can't find something?"

Kay shouldered his carbine, peering out into the darkness beyond the sec station.
Sure, partner. Questions is -- what are we going to find?
A sly grin told the soldier that Kay was both aware of the potential dangers, and ready to face them down. A nod to Marisa, and Kay took up his covering position on one side of the doorframe. Marisa stepped through, flipping on the light on her weapon, as Kay did the same and followed her into the unknown, keeping twenty paces and a sharp eye.

"Only one way to find out. Let's go solve a mystery, shall we?"Hans smirked back at Krayton and motioned for Lloyd and Linus to join the formation. With Galen watching their six with Tanara, Hans formed up alongside his comrades as they slowly made their way into the facility. It was pitch black, the only lights coming from the ones mounted on the squad's weapons. It was eerily quiet as well, but if there really was something or someone still here, then that would change.

Amid the blowing Snowstorm the Grathan soldiers hustled to keep up with their commander who had his laser sword ignited as an orange beacon to lead the way across the harsh terrain of Hoth. Listening to his excessive breathing within the mask once irritated Deyuss but the very mask aided him to be faster and stronger then he would be without it since his chest was destroyed and reconstructed which permanently affected him. Imagine surviving the intense pressure of having an AT-ST stomp on your chest while being held in place by the force, his organs shifted to each side ready to explode at a moments notice until he was rescued by the most unexpected person that would come to rescue someone with his background. The Jedi lady kept him alive with the force until Grathan reinforcements arrived, it was a gruesome sight indeed and he could still remember her saying 'Not even the most menacing deserves to die like that.' It still bugged him when she called him menacing, in fact it was weird. He may be feared by some but within his own walls where few has seen his face, Deyuss was a man easy to get along with, one with a good sense of humor and being called menacing was strange. He stopped to look back at his men struggling to keep up in these harsh conditions, those who strayed behind were left too freeze and it wasn't his fault either because they were in white armor which was like looking for ghosts out here. Then he noticed the black lines on a couple of masks appearing into sight at the back end of the group of soldiers, two others were carrying another with his arms wrapped along both shoulders.
He knew as their commander this wasn't to be tolerated, there was no room for weakness in the Elites he is currently training. Every harsh terrain imaginable, his soldiers had to be ready for anything and this was no mission for claiming territory but the conquest of strength. It was his job to notice every weakness and cut the weakest link from his sight for when the mask came on his ruthlessness saw no end. The orange emitting saber deactivated and the beacon vanished, he pushed passed the two soldiers behind him until others had parted for his approach, he kept marching threw the deep snow until moving to a stop just in front of the three soldiers. Care to explain what I see here . . .
It took a moment to get a response but they knew what he meant already. This was called attachment, a brotherhood of some sort between these three had formed threw the weary mission across the galaxy. A look of disappointment appeared behind the mask of Deyuss. We don't mean any disrespect my lord but we're bringing this soldier back home, let him live with this dishonor.
He could hear his own heart beating from behind the beskar ribs. He looked to each side of the man who'd fallen to his knee's, unable to keep up with the others but he did feel that there was a potential here. A strength that slumbered within the one who had fallen, so again he looked to each soldier standing next to this one when suddenly Deyuss raised his hands and the two soldiers began choking. Their boots moved out of the snow and the ends dangled an inch over the surface of the snow, every soldier standing behind him could hear their choking since every one of their helmet coms had been active. The soldier got himself up out of the snow, he glanced at Deyuss unknowingly if Deyuss had been starring back from behind the unique mask he was known to wear. In fact none of these men had ever seen their commander without his mask. You fall behind this time...there will be no salvation from the end of my blade. Despite the menacing tone that the mask gave his voice, it wasn't anger or disappointment Deyuss had towards him but a level of understanding with the soldier. Suddenly Deyuss motioned for him to run ahead, and he did when the orange blade was ignited once again which he followed the soldier this time. He was not joking either, there was no third times the charm here. In fact this soldier was lucky today since Deyuss didn't even believe second chances despite what he himself has been threw. They marched with but a mile ahead of them where their ship awaited as the storm raged on.

A single Sentinel-class landing craft accompanied by two TIE fighters awaited Deyuss and his Elites to depart from this frozen wasteland towards the Star destroyer in orbit. He would be the last to board the landing craft but an officer approached before he could anyway and saluted his commander. Sir I have a report that we have a Jedi in our custody, she claims to know you.
This peeked his interest as he originally intended on ignoring the officer, stopped at the base of the ramp he looked to the corner of his eye and nodded in acknowledgement before entering the landing craft. Usually he would end the mission with a speech but not now, he was suspicious of the recent report and it was unlikely that this was a trap. The ships lifted off and accelerated towards Hoth's orbit.

*Kronos smiled and did as he was told, feeling once again the anxiety he felt before any mission. For a moment he regretted breakfast, but he soon quelled his rolling stomach by working. Techi explained to him what happened should a crystal break. Like so many things, it depended on the circumstances. Kronos would have to continue his questions and research.*
*Kronos was sort of a loner, often feeling content with his own company. That didn't mean he didn't enjoy the company of others, it just took him awhile to feel a little more talkative. As a result, Kronos did more independently, but was beginning to feel more comfortable around Techi. Kronos followed suit and donned his goggles and cowl before taking his place in the formation. The four teammates rode towards the dig site, and Kronos waited until arriving before asking questions - not wanting to distract anyone from the task of driving.*
"Master, a few questions before we begin?" *Kronos asked, the feeling of anxiety still roiling.* "What sort of safety precautions should be taken to minimize the potential for explosion while harvesting crystals? Is there any warning before, or is it instantaneous?" *Kronos hesitated a bit, unsure of how the Master Artisan would answer.* "Also, would you be willing to allow me to observe you work before trying myself?"
*Kronos was more anxious now about the fact that he could mess up. He saw mistakes and failures as lessons to be learned from, however, if he made a mistake here, someone could get hurt.*

“stow the bikes in the cavern. lets make sure they don’t seize up”
as we unpacked i attempted to say everything i could to help alleviate the anxiety my apprentice was feeling. I used the analogy of how to cut hard candy without shattering it. but there was something else. Although i had used my dichotomous personalities multiple times… in recent times after the council disbanded in favor of a “Chaos assembly” i found that when i went on these missions Techi’s personality became more pronounced and less of something that the council would approve of as the actions of a Jedi. So when Merin asked if I would allow him to watch, Techi snapped back
“If i am assembling a crew for a mission outside the purview of the Jedi council, i do not allow any member to be an observer with hands clean of the controversy. You will operate the tank measures. the drill models that i have to use if i wish to remain under the radar of controversy have a tendency to overheat and increase output incremental energy.”
I was able to gain reins of my less tact self and nodded
“the dangers will be that as the drill increases in power i may lose a grip on the stream, causing the blade to drive into the core of the crystal instead of the fringes where i want to cut. one last time, everyone resync bands to shortwave encrypted.”

*Kronos nodded in understanding, although he wasn't sure he deserved the outburst from the Master. His desire to watch hadn't been one of laziness. It had been a desire to learn how to do this the right way the first time. He learned best by watching and observing. Kronos didn't let this show, however, as he stowed away the bikes as ordered and resynced his band.*
*Kronos followed in a looked around the cavern, keeping his eyes open, and carrying his share of the equpiment. Despite all the gear he wore, he could still feel the biting cold of Hoth. It was what it was. He kept his eyes open, remembering what the permafrost crystal formation looked like from his studies. He kept his eyes open looking for something to harvest from. After some searching, he found some.*
"Master Techi," *Kronos said through their comms. "I've found a crystal deposit."

For what seemed like months in the frozen tundra of Hoth, I studied the formation. I was checking for stability in the formation, how strong in the force the formation was. my usual scanners were having small if any effect due to this being my first outing with Project: Go in full deployment.
I grabbed what appeared to be a Tuning fork with the face of a demon. Kneeling down I inspected it as if wondering if i had grabbed the right one. when i was satisfied that i had the right one I tapped it against a metallic surface on my armor and let it ring in the cold. When it had dissipated, i struck it against Kronos Marek’ shoe… again i listened, and again i let the fork ring to silence. finally i struck it against the protruding crystal.
….and then i waited
And waited….
In my silence i was analyzing the resonances in the force. It was a pseudo science, but i had found evidence that aura can be observed audibly through a medium. It was hard to explain, but when i was certain that this was the site I wanted, i moved fast.
I sprung up, and after storing the tuning fork in its pocket i opened one of the crates and hoisted half of its contents, the power cell for the drill onto my back, leaving the other equipment in a backcase for Kronos to pick up.“ Pixar, reaver get your case back with the bikes, don’t seize up. I will call when we are ready for extraction. Merin, Grab the other pack … and Allons-y.” After saying those words i walked calmly into the cavern and to deep in found the top of a cliff face. nodding, i Jumped off of it without hesitation.

*Kronos watched, his interest piqued at the use of a tuning fork. What was he doing? Kronos was excited to learn, but it was difficult when he didn't understand why Master Tuhlute did certain things. He would have to ask him. The questions were piling up. For now, he just obeyed, and perhaps he would understand in time. He would ask his questions when the time permitted, but without much delay, Diamonte jumped off the cliff face after giving some instructions.*
*Kronos followed without delay, picking up the pack and following the artisan off the cliff face. He hadn't done actual cliff diving before, but he had done the exercises. He could slow his descent with the Force without issue. He made sure as he jumped that he wouldn't land on Tuhlute, which would not only injure him, but would be an embarrassment as well. He adjusted his descent and landed without an issue.*
