Arripio-Class Star Destroyer

Description:
The Arripio was made early into Palpatine’s reign. It’s function was to further facilitate the Jedi Purge. It accomplished this goal by preventing ships from escaping with its gravity well projectors. Then it would disable the ship with salvos from it’s ion cannon batteries, and finally move in and use its superior boarding equipment and large complement of troops, to storm the enemy ship. Prisoners would be taken, data collected, and other clues looked for, before releasing the derelict ship and dusting it to remove evidence of disodense and the Jedi from the galaxy. So effective at their jobs, most thought the ships to be only a myth. Primarily captained by members of the Inquisitorious, the Arripio’s also had almost half a legion (4,000) of the Empire’s finest troops aboard to ensure boarding actions went smoothly.
The ships fighter compliment was 84 starfighters, equaling to 7 full squadrons, was used to stop fleeing escape craft, or help disable the primary target, in addition to the usual duties of fighter squadrons.
The main armament of this ship consisted of 40 heavy ion cannons, 20 turbolasers, 10 tractorbeam projectors, and 40 point defense cannons.
