Serratus-class Assault CruiserShip Class: Cruiser Ship Role: Troop/Fighter Carrier Ship Length: 600 meters Agility (A): 2 Defensive (D): 3 Offensive (O): 4 Speed (S): 3 Special Gear: 2 (Hangar Space, Troop Space) Description: Lacking a Cruiser class that fit within the needs of certain members of the Dark Jedi Order, The Fallen commissioned the creation of the Serratus. It boasted a massive whale like shape with several protrusions to give it an aggressive edge. Though, anyone not scared of it's foreboding design soon met an unfortunate fate. Running much of the length of the ship's forward frame was a Mass-Driver Cannon, capable of delivering devastating blows to slow moving targets and ground based emplacements. This firepower was further backed up by 40 Turbolaser Cannons, 20 Ion Cannons, 30 Quad Laser Cannons, 10 Missile Launchers, and 3 Tractor Beams. The Serratus was capable of carrying 48 Starfighters, and up to 3,000 Troops.

A powerhouse carrier. Hmm, someone's going to be in trouble facing this monster down. Approved.

Is it just me, or should this be nerfed a little? It has, in my opinion, too many fighters for how well armed it is...

Now that I think about it, keeping in mind that carriers can have varying capacities based on faction, doctrine, etc, it seems rather odd that a ship 300 meters shorter and war more heavily armed could carry nearly 50 more star fighters than the dedicated carrier found in the Eruditus-class fighter carrier.

In spite of the recent nerf, I still agree with Luxeria. This should be taken down to 1 wing. The Ton-Falk, which is basically a giant hangar with engines strapped to it, is no more then 100 meters shorter and can only carry 1 wing, and considering this has a giant MAC attached to it, plus a bunch of shielding and smaller weapons, I’d expect this to be carrying a severely limited amount of fighters compared to a ship that was just a hangar.

Arguably, this has fewer weapons than the Eruditus, given the larger ship has actual batteries of turbolasers, where as this has 20 turbolasers in total. But I can further scale the number of weapons down further. I’m just curious how the correlation between internal space usage and external hull availability correlates? Also, I cannot say for certain about yourself, but I for one cannot see the future. So it’s a good chance that, like many things, time and technology have prompted a different design methodology. Which, more so time, than anything else, has done so. (The Eruditus was submitted quite a while back now) Also, you may want to heavily consult the boards.jedivsith.com/thread/4230/canon-valor-class-cruiser about breaking a supposed perception that a 100 meter longer ship cannot carry more than a wing. Even then, the Tonn Falk still had actual weaponry. We also cannot say for sure whether it was more lightly armed due to its intended role and placement within the Imperial Military (and the fact that a large number of Imperial warships were under armed)

Made some changes to the Serratus to be more in line with it's original intent, focusing upon firepower over starfighter carrying capacity.
