The frigate was armed with 18 turbolasers (3 batteries), 12 point defense laser cannons (2 batteries) and 12 tractorbeam projectors (2 batteries) in order to withstand smaller ships. Additionally it features two large and flexible grapple-"teeth" that were heavily reinforced in order to withstand tremendous damage, allowing the vessel to latch onto enemy ships in order to dislodge assault squads. The ship was maintained normally by a crew of 800 men and had a passenger capacity of 300 men.

I wouldn’t say you need a special gear point for it being a boarding ship. It’s just a ship designed with that specific role.

I wouldn’t say you need a special gear point for it being a boarding ship. It’s just a ship designed with that specific role. That's good to know, as on another ship the same question would be asked from my side. I'll keep it here and on the other ship for the moment just to see the general opinions, since there are only a few boarding vessels within the Star Wars universe and I want to roll safe.

This is a rare case where I feel the boarding should be a special gear, considering that action, I believe, is attached to those fangs.

I'm a little on the fence about the matter. But I would be OK with leaving it as special gear, since I don't recall too many frigate class ships having specific gear like this. While many ships are capable of boarding actions, the fangs are unique to this vessel.
