Description:
As part of the Mythic line of vessels of Lyncitech and Hadur Industries, the Selket-class Medical Cruiser was the only ship of the line built with a specific role. Knowing there would always be a time when many soldiers were injured and in need of greater aid than a ship's typical medbay and no time to jump to the nearest allied hospital, the Selket was built to fulfill the role. Though its specific role creation opted minds to place it within the Aesir line of ships, the Mythic line's curvy aesthetics had Mahal opt to leave in the lineup.
Capable of carrying up to 1,400 patients at a time, the facilities built into the ships ensured they had all they needed to function as a full-fledged hospital, complete with bacta tanks and surgery rooms. Knowing that the safety of the wounded was a must, the defenses and weaponry needed to be up to par to stand against at least the average capital ship. As such it was moderately armed and armored, equipped with ten turbolaser batteries, ten point defense batteries, and ten ion cannons. As an extra defensive measure, it could release twenty-four starfighters from its hangar to aid it.
