Description:
Wanting to build a craft that could possibly appeal to the Jedi and other groups that fought for justice, Lyncitech looked no further than the Defender-class Light Corvette of the Old Republic for inspiration. Sticking with the hammerhead design, extensive alterations were made to reflect a less pacifist lightsider and one not afraid to fight back and defend those who needed it. Sharper angles make it more intimidating alongside its heavy armament.
Carrying an impressive loadout, the Aegis held 5 quad laser cannons. Two were fixed forward, one on each side of the cockpit while two were swivel mounted further back on the side, allowing them to fire forward, backward, up, and down, a valuable asset for attacking ships while passing by its hull. The final quad laser cannon was a turret mounted on the dorsal side, while two concussion missile tubes carrying six missiles each threatened to bring further punishment. the larger, more powerful engines worked to maintain the average speed of the class, however, its agility was forced to suffer in place of the heavy armament. To operate properly, the Aegis required a pilot, a co-pilot, and four gunners while carrying ten passengers or troops and one-hundred metric tons of cargo.
Though the standard build, the Aegis was capable of being customized upon purchase, allowing for an alteration of weapons to be added or removed if desired.
