TIE/lf Liberation FighterShip Class: Starfighter Ship Role: Starfighter Ship Length: 7 meters Agility (A): 3 Defensive (D): 2 Offensive (O): 3 Speed (S): 4 Special Gear: 1 (Hyperdrive) Description:The TIE/lf was reverse engineered from 4 TIE/sf Space Superiority Fighters that had been captured by the former Galactic Alliance from the Bilbringi Shipyards. Designed by a cooperative effort between the Knights of Karabor and the Corellian Coalition, the TIE/lf is meant to as closely resemble their First Order cousins as possible. However, as with any technology that has been reverse engineered, these fighters have paid their price by losing out on some speed and agility. The TIE/lf sports a fairly similar overall design to it's TIE/sf counterpart, the only real difference being the replacement of the red markings with blue. It still sports a pair of Laser Cannons up front, and the dual Laser turret and missile launchers in the back. Unlike the TIE/sf, the TIE/lf does require a co-pilot in order for the rear weapon systems to be used.

So, as it's meant to be reverse engineered, I went back to compare with the approval of the TIE sf. Just a few questions more for clarification than anything. Does it possess a hyperdrive? And with the turret in place, I imagine it needs a co-pilot? And finally, was there some work done to increase its defense over the original as it was set to 2 points in defense.
I ask about the hyperdrive and Co-pilot not only for verification but for the fact points were used in special gear for them. While my opinion on the matter says no, I bring it up so the RPAs can clarify what they believe needs those points.

huh.... must have missed the entry when I went looking for it originally. I find it hard to believe the base one isn't a 3 in defence, considering it has an actual shield generator on it. Meaning it would be a little more robust than standard TIE fighters... I'll drop in a point for the Hyperdrive, since that discussion does seem to be ongoing. As to the co-pilot, yes arguably this thing being reverse engineered will mean it's not optional. But I'd like to see if an RPA can give an official position on whether that counts as special gear. Based on Admy's post over there, it looks like a co-pilot does not warrant a point.

I'd agree, but looking at the TIE standard approval, it's stat for defense is 1 so bumping to 2 points is about right.

If I remember correctly, I used the base for the TIE, which Luxeria linked in order to determine the strength of the /sf and the /fo, in order to represent the better tech, while not overdoing it. So yes, the shields are already included in the point system, as I try to calculate numbers by description of the wiki entries in sync with what similiar/previous ships within the database have in terms of stats.

Fair enough. Well stats have been adjusted.
