Designed by The Organization and built by Aegohr Manufacturing, the Purgatory-Class was of a modular design, capable of housing up to 4350 prisoners in self-contained blocks. There were 30 blocks on the ship. Respectably fast and agile for its size and design, any of the 30 prison blocks could be jettisoned to increase the odds of escaping in one piece. Armed with a dozen dual point defense laser cannons, the ship relied on its complement of 36 starfighters to defend itself unless an escort fleet was accompanying it. Capable of carrying enough consumables for two years and 35,000 metric tons of cargo, the Purgatory was designed to operate away from planetary bodies and other support ships, in isolation, as it was a Maximum Security Prison facility.
